I've ordered from Jasmine Thai a total of 3 times now and they never disappoint!! I will say I typically order Pad See Ewe at other Thai restaurants, but Jasmine Thai's pad Thai is literally out of this world!! I don't know what they put in it but it is so delicious!! I also always try to get something different to try each time, but I ALWAYS get the pad Thai. I've tried: pad see ewe, pineapple fried rice, Thai fried rice, panang curry, tom yum chicken soup, and pad Thai. Today I went in for lunch and of course got the pad Thai. It comes with two spring rolls (I ate one before I took the picture) and a side of soup. This is truly a hidden gem and my new favorite Thai spot!! Service. Top Tier. Ambiance: some. Food: ordered to go. As far as Thai: it was high priced and made us feel ill. The "food" was loaded with MSG, sugar that spiked our blood wayyyy high. The luncheon to go was almost $50.00 and my Pad Thai had Three {3} shrimp. No herbs or flavor except sugar and cheap peanut butter. The summer rolls were three; dried out, with no meat or herbs. Just rice paper, rice filling, and carrot shreds with cucumber. Plus a terrible peanut sauce. I make better. This app alone was $10.00. Going out is rare because we don't have a lot of money to throw away and the American food supply is in decline. I know from people who are friends that run food businesses that its hard now. So I am torn writing this because it's hard to stay open during this Trumpocolypse, but at the same time it was expensive, badly made, and one feels screwed over wasting dollars on a treat that ... sucked. I only stopped because I was stuck in traffic and they had lots of awards around. I even asked the table next to me if the food is good. They said VERY. To go was gross. This update is way overdue. This earns the coveted award of being my favorite Thai restaurant in San Antonio. After a fire they renovated and moved down a suite in the same complex on Medical. They have added some new menu items, including my personal favorite, the Asian Sea Bass. Their Papaya Salad (Lao style please) is the best in town. So is the Crispy Pork Belly with Chinese Broccoli. Last but not least by any means, they have Nam. It's not on the menu but make sure to ask for it. Nice and sour and grilled to order. Sep lai der! A local spot that was pretty good for an out-of-towner. This place is pretty small, so it can get loud with just a few groups of people talking. So it was hard to hear my friends. I'm disappointed in the experience and the food! A couple of friends invited me out the this place speaking high praise. It was about lunch time (1:23) and although we were the only customers we had to wait for someone to clean all of 8 tables. The portions were small for the price. The flavor I was expecting was not what I got. We got separated checks and immediately the owner asked if my friend was going to tip. She didn't give her time because she was tipping in cash. I on the other hand applied my tip to my card. She just couldn't leave well enough alone. She just kept asking about the tip. I finally said "I TIPPED!" Great spot for a quick bite for lunch and a good selection of items for lunch. I went with the green curry that came with two egg rolls and a choice of drinks. I went with the Thai iced tea for the drink. The curry was very good and had just enough kick to make your taste buds say "wait a minute now" but not enough to say "what were you thinking." I went with the medium spice level and it was a nice selection that was just the perfect mix of heat without it being the main focus where you ignored the flavor. The lunch and service was good enough that you want to come back for their dinner service where they have more offerings. By the way this establishment offers a good boba tea assortment. I ate it all before I thought about photos. This place is soooooo good. Unassuming little spot in a shopping center with food to drive an hour and a half from my house for. I had the Gang Keowan with chicken, medium spice level. It is SO DELICIOUS! Sweet, Savory, Spicy all at the same time in perfect balance. The soup of the day that comes with the meal is also quite yummy. The accompanying spring rolls were eaten by my husband and he enjoyed them and his meal very much. Walked in at 8:12pm today so I could try their food for the first time. Was greeted by a young man who said that they were closing early at 8:30pm. Wouldn't let me order even though I came in 48 minutes before the listed closing time and 18 minutes before the new time he said they were closing at. The most eventful part of the meal was the little roach that came out from my co-workers dish. Seriously! The waitstaff mentioned that the place has been exterminated the today before. After chatting about other oddities we've had with other restaurants, we did decided to continue eating once a new plate of arrived. We went during lunchtime and it wasn't too packed which is good especially when you're only trying to take a 1 hr lunch break. The lunch special comes with a small soup and two small friend spring rolls. The lunch portion was avgerage size. Makes you full but not stuffed. I ordered pad thai and it just taste like normal pad thai. Nothing special, but it doesn't taste bad either. I ordered medium spicy, but it didn't think it was spicy at all, so you can probably get very spicy and still be okay. Service was good. Waitress was very attentive. Overall, pretty good experience. It literally made me say, "Wow!" The beef was a little tough. You might want to get the chicken if you order this. It was very spicy which is perfect for me. And the sauce is to die for! I ate all of it with my steamed rice. It also had onions, bamboo shoots, and basil. YUM! They don't come over too much to bother you. Again, perfect for me. But my water glass was never empty. I always somehow forget about this place, but when I remember, they're great. Service is good but very quiet- no extra chatting here, but they are quick and professional and polite. Dinner portions are huge- the price is also more than you'd usually pay, but you're definitely getting your money's worth, and it's high-quality good too, not just quantity. Lunch specials are more on the affordable side, but stuff just as good- and their menu is pretty diverse. Sadly I can't remember what I've tried here, as I've never had the same thing twice, but I usually get a noodle dish and a soup and I've always been stuffed to the gills (and happily so!) when I leave. Okay out of everrrrrything I've had here so far, the green curry with the chicken takes it! It is a VERY mild curry taste, more coconutty than anything else. It comes in a good sized bowl with chicken, carrots, green beans and bamboo shoots, with the scoop of rice (more available upon request) and spring rolls with soup (lunch special). The flavors were amazing and I am really impressed. As you can see from the picture it is more white than green. I Love Thai food and its been a struggle to find a GOOD thai place in SA. I saw JT and went there for lunch. They had a lunch specials going on that included a entree, 2 egg rolls, and a soup. I ordered the pad thai lunch special (I think ~$6.50). I was in a rush, so I grabbed the food and left. Once getting in the car and looking into the bag, I didn't see my soup but I had extra egg rolls. I was really disappointed about this. The pad thai was good.
