Red Beans &…read moreRice (9/10): If you like Popeyes red beans, you'll love these. Mine were lukewarm by the time I ate them because I was waiting for my co-worker to get his order, but they were still very good. The andouille sausage was tender and flavorful.
Potato Soup (9/10): My co-worker said it was really good, and it certainly looked good to me. It was creamy and loaded with bacon.
Service (5/10): Not good. Our server was sweet and friendly, but unfortunately, the service itself wasn't very good. I almost wondered if she was new to serving.
My co-worker and I both ordered sweet tea, but when she brought the drinks, she only brought one. I eventually had to track her down and remind her about the second drink. Then, when we tasted the tea, we discovered it was unsweetened and had to request sugar packets.
After my food arrived, we waited about 10 minutes for my co-worker's order before finally asking about it. He had only ordered a bowl of soup, so we weren't expecting such a long delay.
The biggest issue, though, was the bill. I ordered the red beans and rice ($13), my co-worker ordered a bowl of potato soup, and we each had one "sweet" tea. We split the bill, and my portion alone was $23. I can't imagine his bowl of soup cost significantly more than my $13 entrée, so I'm still not sure how the total got that high. Unfortunately, we had meetings to get back to and didn't have time to question the bill. In hindsight, I wish we had.
Ambiance (9/10): Bright, clean, and pleasant. I really like the high ceilings, furnishings and artwork. The space feels open and inviting. I also appreciate that it's within walking distance of the office, literally right across the street, which makes it a very convenient lunch option.
