Walked in with only 4 other people in the restaurant. My Fiancé and I ordered two avocado burgers and a buffalo wings appetizer this is around 3pm. Only had one employee taking orders which he was definitely overwhelmed as more people came in because orders was getting backed up. When we received the wings it wasn't traditional buffalo but a sweet sauce you would get from a Chinese restaurant also batter was same. the cokes and dr peppers we ordered I watched as the server poured them from two liters in the back which was semi-flat. Our burgers had no real flavor at all. The avocados was so hard my fiancé had to check to see if was chips. Overall would not come back I see most customers are older(50+) but based off of previous reviews I was excited to come here and was highly disappointed read more

Went here today 10/22/16 they opened 2 weeks ago. Owner very nice & friendly as well as the staff I saw. I ordered the 2 piece catfish with 2 sides to go. While I was waiting I was brought a sample of the gumbo it was good with just the right amount of heat. Wait was short and when I got home was still piping hot. They use a cornmeal flour combination on the catfish and it was light and crispy. Will be back to try more of the menu items for sure. read more

Love this place. Close to home and the young daughter of the owner is so sweet. This is a family operated business. Everything my husband and I have tried has been great! I love I can have grilled fish and their seasoned veggie is broccoli if you are wanting low carb! They can do spicy or not, just ask. If you like warm boiled shrimp it's great. Also our daughter tried their avacado burger and seriously it was amazing and piled with a whole half of avacado! They have speciality fries too if you have to have souped up fries. They run lunch specials too until 3:00. I have never tried the crawfish but people rave about the crawfish. Open from 11-9 M-S & Sun they close at 2:30. read more

Very nice, new restaurant in Pearland. The staff was friendly. It had decent ambiance even though it's a little iffy from the outside. There were plenty of booths and tables for sitting. We sat down for lunch. I had fried shrimp with Cajun fries. The shrimp were very good. Good flavor and not overly greasy. The fries were ok, but I'll try a different kind next time because I didn't love them. They gave us a complimentary appetizer of catfish nuggets that also tasted good. The sweet tea didn't put me into a diabetic coma, so I considered that a plus. Surprisingly nice restaurant. read more

The crawfish were barely average boarding not so good. I know the season hasn't officially started but it had nothing nothing to do with the size but more the taste. I ordered spicy and they were mild to medium at best they also had a hint of sweet flavor like not what you get from adding citrus to the boil but a sugar sweet. YUCK. Some were mushy I got 2lbs so I may due. I really wanted this place to have crawfish with a good flavor but it fell very short. read more

Based on reviews from Yelp and Google we decided to try this place for lunch today. Good burgers are really hard to find around here - most are pretty generic. We arrived at 12:30, were allowed to sit wherever we chose and our drink orders and menu explanations happened within the first minute! Very personable server, a huge assortment of specials on the blackboard and a pretty extensive printed menu also. However, we came to try the burger. We didn't go fancy, just regular cheeseburgers, and they were served quickly and hot. I believe the buns must have been brioche, because they were slightly sweet, obviously fresh and just the right bit of sear from the grill. Perfect! Now to the burger. Again, obviously fresh, cooked to a nice medium in a loose configuration - not a patty, but not a loose meat sandwich either, just about right with enough loose pieces that you could move them around a fill the bun completely. Garnish was also fresh. I have eaten burgers all over the world and this rates in the top 5, but certainly the best I have ever had in Houston! Sorry, Killen's, but for taste and price Bayou Grill can't be beat. The meat is 1/3 pound, and I was pretty full so didn't try any of the other tasty-looking items on the menu, but we will reserve that for another visit. We did get fries - they were large and cooked well and served hot with seasoning that was just a tad salty for my wife - but in my opinion fries are nothing special anywhere. Certainly better than most restaurants we have visited, but again, they're fries. I will try something different next time. At any rate, this is a true 5 star burger! Enjoy! Me and my wife stopped by tonight after hearing about the place. Friendly staff and the place was nearly empty for a Friday night. Big bar but only beer and wine. I ordered grilled fish and shrimp and my wife had the chicken fried steak. There was an up change to have mash potatoes, weird. The water had a funny taste and was not drinkable. The check was brought out before the food was delivered. The food was bland and the oil tasted old. Overall, we we're not impressed. On the positive, I think the place has potential. Prices were good and the cooks need to learn to use olive oil, butter, herbs, and to not overextended the frying oil. If they work on flavor, continue to keep prices reasonable, and bring in mixed drinks with that big bar, they could be a happening place. Three stars for now until I brave it again. read more

Update: this place makes THE best burgers around! Home style, hand made one by one, juicy meat patty, cheddar cheese, toasted bun, served hot and fresh! The veggies are just right: thank you for using a whole piece of lettuce instead of shredded or chopped lettuce, and for serving thinly sliced red onions instead of white onions. They use a soft kind of bun (potato?) that is toasted on both sides. You get a bottle of ketchup, not a bunch of plastic packets that you have to keep tearing open, plus plenty of paper napkins. Extra vegetables are free (hubby likes extra pickles and onions). The onion rings have changed a bit, however. They are still cut pretty thick, but they used to be crispier. This time they had a softer crust which got mushy. I have not tried the fries yet but they look great (freshly made in-house). Their prices are really reasonable, and the kids who wait tables are attentive and friendly. Bayou Grill is nothing fancy (and could use a good wipe down and bathroom patrol) but it's a good, solid neighborhood place. One pet peeve: please wipe the fingerprints and smudges off your glass front door and windows. They have a wide variety of food and some beer. Their menu includes seafood and cajun dishes, even some oriental-ish dishes (crawfish fried rice), but I can never get past the awesome burger!! read more

Their hamburgers are five star and the absolute BEST that I have had since leaving the oil field in East Texas & Louisiana! The entire package would rate way higher than 5 stars IMO, and this ole Texas Roughneck don't miss many meals, if you know what I mean! The owners both introduced themselves, and their waitstaff was super attentive (but not overly). All of the menu items are priced fairly for a family on a budget too! South Louisiana covers a tremendous amount of acreage, parishes, small towns, etc... and they have mastered the seasoning skills taught to them by Mrs. Boudreaux from Lafayette La. And, I Gar-ON-Tee 4 different people will have 4 versions or ideas of what "Cajun Corn" should taste like, so be considerate and open minded. That being said, My wife and I ate there last night & we are heading back for lunch today!!! Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler! Oh yeah, and their seafood menu items are "off the hook" as well, always fresh and tasty!
