It was 10 degrees, raining and snowing and guess what we did....went to Bazbeaux!!!! It was pretty empty inside, maybe due to weather? So we were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice (young girl, shoulder length blonde hair) I didn't catch her name. We started off with the garlic bread and it was delicious! Crispy on the outside, topped with mozzarella and complimented by a nice buttery garlic taste. I ordered the 12' Tchoupitoulas, this isn't something I would normally go for when it comes to pizza. But I was feeling risky....the risk was well worth it! My only complaint was the amount of veggies, there were a lot of veggies for my liking, but it did not stop me from eating the entire pizza. My boyfriend ordered the Stromboli and I was SOOOO mad that I didn't! Now, dont get me wrong my pizza was bomb, but his tasted a lot better than mine LOL. We will definitely return to Bazbeaux. Always consistently good! Bazbeaux is an absolute must-visit in Broad Ripple, and easily serves some of the best pizza in the area. You cannot go wrong eating here. The prices are reasonable, between $10-20 for a pizza. The menu has lots of variety, and the best part is that the pizza isn't super thin! My favorite is the Hawaiian pizza and the garlic cheese bread for an appetizer. I will say they don't have an official drink menu but do offer wine and beer. This isn't the place if you are looking for a fancy cocktail. The atmosphere is nice, and sitting inside is comfortable. The lighting is quite dark. If you are wanting to sit outside, Bazbeaux has a great outdoor patio. Service has been impeccable. The servers are attentive and polite. Just got back from lunch at Bazbeaux. No indoor seating so sat on the patio. Omg, it was hot. Of course that's not their fault, car thermometer said 97. But we did discuss going somewhere else. Bazbeaux is definitely a staple of Broad Ripple and a common spot for Butler students. My friends and I went to try a couple of the pizzas that we hadn't tried before. I chose to order the BBQ pizza which included peppers, onions, and chicken. I've never really had barbecue on pizza but I was pleasantly surprised! My friends ordered the Cajun Chicken and Margherita pizzas. They both enjoyed their pizzas as well and the service was great throughout the visit. Staff was very polite and respectful. Despite going around peak dinner time, there was more than enough room for us to feel comfortable and isolated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ordered Bazbeux for take out during COVID-19. They answered the phone quickly, order was ready in about 20 mins and they bring it out to your car. When you order they ask you what car you will be driving and have to pay over the phone. We've tried to order from a few places during this time and the phone rings forever or is constantly busy. This is without a doubt some of the best pizza I've ever had. There's a reason they won best of pizza in Indy. They have an amazing gluten free crust, tons of toppings, speciality pizzas, and a great atmosphere. Both locations I've been to have that traditional pizza place feel to them that I love. It smells so delicious when you walk in and there's almost a warm feeling in the air. The GF crust only comes in 10.5 inch, two people can easily share it. I can barely eat three pieces because of the mountain of toppings they have on each pizza. My favorite is their Pizza Alla Quattro Formaggio. It has four cheeses, bacon, and mushrooms. My friend and I order it nearly every time we go and we're always happy with it! I've also had their Colossus with ricatta cheese. It's basically a supreme, which you can't go wrong with in my opinion. And their Bazbeaux special, it's good, definitely not my favorite compared to the others. My only complaint is that GF pizzas can't do half and half toppings. I know they only do that for larger sizes, but GF only comes in one size. If it came in a larger size I would get it! read more

This was our first time visiting. We had some trouble finding it as our map did not take us down the one-way angled street where the restaurant is located. It also would have been helpful to know there was a free restaurant parking lot. We were seated right away in a nicely decorated room. The server was attentive and accommodated our group. The cheesy garlic bread was yummy and the homemade pesto delicious! We had a scrumptious thin crust pizza with fresh ingredients. The Caesar salad was tasty as well. The ice tea was a little weak. A definite downside were the gnats flying around. We seemed to be in an addition and not the main dining room. No one was seated in the main room but it had gorgeous views of the canal. I wish we had been and maybe it would have helped with the gnats too. Overall it was a decent visit and we would consider returning. read more

They continually get voted #1 in Indiana. They deserve the high marks. Our current favorite is the Bazbeaux Special - sun dried tomatoes, basil and garlic. But - they have many more to select and you won't go wrong. The Broad Ripple location has outdoor seating at street level and rooftop seating as well. Both are sheltered so a little rain will be ok! If you like local beer, they always have local brews on tap and in bottle. As I sit here writing this review, I am waiting for my carry out. You can call ahead for carry out... or... wait until you get here, have a local beer while you wait :) Every time I have been here, I have had top notch service. I have gone to Bazbeaux Pizza before but not at this location. The pizza was delicious as always, so if you are looking for good pizza Bazbeaux Pizza has it. I Just went to this location recently and here are some things I noticed.. -The service was okay, the server was attentive but they were not very friendly -the pizza was good and it was delivered right out of the oven, you could tell it had not been sitting there waiting to be served -one thing that was odd was they did not come around or even notice that water cups were empty, maybe it was because we were almost done eating but it would have been nice to get a refill -the bathrooms could definitely be cleaner Lastly, it is in a harder place to find if you are not familiar with the area. I have never had a bad Bazbeaux experience. My husband and I usually get the 16 inch Colossus and usually finish it between the two of us... This visit, we went with a group of people. I tried their antipasto salad, which had all the fixings and plenty of them. Among the group, we tried the spinach salad, cobb salad, and house salad. All had plenty of toppings and were very fresh. Our friends had the Tchoupitoulas pizza, which had the perfect combination of shrimp and sausage with just enough kick. Picture it: My craving for a stromboli would not be denied and Bazbeaux was the only right answer. In my pre-dinner hangry haze, I foolishly thought I would just be able to pick it up & eat it by hand. The stromboli had other plans, utensils were needed to carve through & pick up that crazy awesome sausage & loads of gooey, melty cheese. Tip: Don't attempt to eat with flimsy cutlery! So good! I know it may seem heretical to give Bazbeaux's only three stars, but with all due respect, I feel it's more than fair. I've not understood their following other than they've been a fixture and I'm guessing were Indy's first gourmet pizza. Never a huge fan, I've eaten at the Broad Ripple location a handful of times and at their Carmel location almost as many. Their pizza is better than average; their salads are good. Believe me, I love "exotic" and premium toppings more than most perhaps, being from CA where we were putting artichoke hearts on pizza over 50 yrs ago (borrowed from traditional Italian "Four Seasons" pizza). So I can appreciate a place that makes available lump crab and shrimp, pine nuts, pesto, arugula, eggplant, several different cheeses, and the like. But you got to have good crust and sauces or it's just window dressing. Today I had a muffuletta sandwich thinking that I'd try something different for lunch... give them an opportunity to shine over something besides their pizza I don't love. But, not unlike the garlic bread that was also ordered for the table, it was a whole lot of dry, toasted bread and not much else. The sandwich was to have ham, salami *and* pepperoni (instead of the traditional mortadella--which I'm fine with). But I didn't detect 3 meats or enough of them to tell. I also didn't detect cheese. So aside from the fact that traditionally it should include slices of both provolone and mozzarella and this one was described as having provolone only, there wasn't enough of it to taste like there was cheese at all. The olive salad was good, but again, there just wasn't enough of that good thing either. The potato chips did nothing to enhance the already overwhelmingly dry, carb-laden experience. Thank goodness for the pickle spear. My lunch companions seemed to enjoy their salads and pizza. Service was fine. But with all the interesting places in Broad Ripple to eat, it might be a while again before I'm back (and only if the people I'm with have a burning desire, which is what brings me in every time). As someone who grew up in Broad Ripple, Bazbeaux is a staple in our family! We love to take people from out of town here (ranging from Parisians to Australians) and they all have been extremely impressed with the food! Our go to order is the pesto cheese bread and the Quattro Formaggio. The pesto bread always has a ton of cheese and is a great appetizer to split between people, but if you're not into lots of cheese, maybe just do the garlic bread. The Quattro is one of the pizzas they're known for, and I recommend starting off with a fork and knife just because it's sooo hot right when it comes off and sometimes slides off. For a better visualization of the restaurant, at the Broad Ripple location there is outdoor seating on the patio and roof, along with well lit indoor seating. There's a pretty well use of warm colors through the restaurant and I definitely have seen some of the same faces there over the years (as a server myself, that's a pretty nice indication that it's also a good place to work). It's the epitome of an iconic, casual neighborhood pizza place and it is always a stop when I'm back in town! read more

Love Bazbeaux's pizza! It's my favorite eat-in pizza place in Indianapolis. Last night was my first visit to the Broadripple location. One big pro for this location is that it has a parking lot! Not too many places in broadripple have their own lot so that is nice! The pizza was great, as always! I went with a friend and her two toddlers and we all shared a large spinach salad and a medium sausage and pepperoni pizza. Everyone at their fill and there were even two pieces left to take home to my friend's husband. It is definitely a kid friendly spot. It was kind of a slow night and I'm not sure if that was due to the rapidly dropping temperatures or if it was just the normal amount of guests on a Tuesday night. Seriously good pizza! This place is the best at just seriously good pizza in the best way possible. It's cool but not pretentious. It's unique without being a fad. No wonder it's been an Indy establishment for so long. It's perfect for low key date night, meeting with a few friends, meeting with family, and even take out. Now I don't like to run, I try to like it but I don't. However coming off the monon to this location or the one in Carmel is the best reason to run. Last night after the aforementioned run, Tyler and I stopped by here to eat some of the gloriously good pizza that we always get here. The menu is large enough with tons of creative choices. However our favorite thing is to create our own pizza customized just the way we like it. The crust is nice and thin, almost like a cracker, and the cheese blend is amazingly satisfying. The toppings are always super fresh (stay away from the Cajun shrimp though it tastes like a salty spice cabinet). The service is exactly what you want here. Attentive but they let you be while keeping your water glass full and making sure your needs are met. The beer selection is limited so I suggest to go elsewhere before or after if you want to drink. We haven't tried a lot of appetizers but they always look and smell delicious. To top it all off, the patio is a dream. It's well lit, secluded, and usually packed when it's warm. This is the only place I will sit when it's nice out at this restaurant. The most inconvenient location in like the history of ever. Please do not use GPS. So if you are trying to find it just follow the damned ducks and geese along the canal. Parking is a bitch. No parking is better than Savanah Whorega. But you still have to pay for Parking. Please be careful because the college kids in this town don't give a rats ass if you live, die or become a greasy spot. First thought was I am going to catch a disease when I first went in. We were seated next to a large pole. It was helpful because I was able to use it to pull myself up. We called it our enchanted Polato (a take on enchanted Grotto) honestly I was very unsteady and tired from travel so the pole was very useful for this old Lady. Our server was a kind fellow. Honestly I believe he got my drinks straight from the factory tap because it was perhaps the best sprite I have ever had in my entire life. We ordered the 12 inch pizza it was baked to perfection. Enough cheese and as older people age we can't handle the sauce. We asked for light sauce we received the perfect amount of light sauce. Toppings of mushrooms was fresh. Food was awesome, service great, decor that typical need a flashlight to see, restrooms were very clean. The only real reason this review was four stars is because location and parking. Ugh, I hate doing this because I've been a Bazbeaux fan for years. But the ball was completely dropped last night. Yes, we are in the middle of a pandemic and I plan on changing this review after. I really thought since this carry out ordeal has been going on since March, they would be better, but I was let down. But I want to give people who are considering them for carry out some advice. STILL GO but mind these experiences. We ordered 2 orders of garlic bread (one cheese bread and one pesto), a crab salad and Mexican pizza. We ordered at 5:20 and were told it would be 35-40 minutes. We arrive in Broadripple at 5:50. We call like we were told and get a busy signal. We call again and again. We finally come to the conclusion that they took it off the hook. There are probably 15 people milling around on the sidewalk (not great social distancing) and probably 10 more in cars. Someone comes around at 6:20 to ask for our name and tells us our order isn't ready yet because some orders are taking 45 min to an hour (mind you, we've been there an hour). Our food finally comes at 6:30. But only half of it is there. No bread. Which I would normally overlook but that was over $10 of the order. I go up to the curb and catch a worker to tell them. He brings it out 5 min later. We drive away and go park to eat like a picnic. Not a clue how this bread is "famous". It was hard as a rock with no flavor. It kinda looked like a toasted hot dog bun. Also, they forgot my dressing to my salad. Thankfully I ordered pesto with my bread so I used that. I got the lump crab salad. For $12, I expected more than 2 tablespoons of shredded crab. My boyfriend was content with his food though! He enjoyed the Mexican pizza with a hearty amount of toppings. His food looked better! So if you are getting carry out: 1. Order before 4 probably. There were others there who got there before us and we left before them... 2. Check your bag before they walk away. They practically ran away from us (so busy) but ask for a second to run down the receipt. You paid for it, so take that second. 3. Tip well! They are still risking their health for pizza.
