Always love and order the Asian Chicken Salad, but on top of that...today I also ordered their chicken soup (with bow tie pasta) which was extremely good (hope they offer that a lot more often)...but the hottest ticket was The Queen Bee beverage containing gin,lemon and lavender. THAT is awesome. It was sad to see that it was only a Feb special. I sure hope (and frankly ask) that they would keep that one, the way they did the Chicken Pasta Rossa. Man does Bazille pay to have the negative reviews taken off Yelp, because from what I saw and what I've witnessed coming to this joint before there is noooo way they would ever get over a 1? They serve boiling hot food and soup to toddlers for Jeebus's sake! Anyway, we got there at 7 on a Friday. They close at 8. My wife was ahead of me and walked up to the greeter's stand. "Hi!" she said cheerfully. The person working it was on his cell. He got off his celly and faced her, with a scowl and no reply. He blurted out, "two?!" There was obviously three in the party: my wife, our toddler and I who I was pushing in a stroller, but I guess folks don't often like or acknowledge babies and children nowadays, although all of them were once both themselves. I was actively on my phone talking to my business partner in NYC about a Hip Hop music festival we're setting up for late summer. I had headphones on but am pretty aware and able to multitask due to being a DJ/Turntablist for over 40 years. My wife tried to engage him and ask how he was doing. He didn't respond. He tried to sit us in a half booth/chair table area, but the full booths are always better for toddlers so she asked if we could have a booth. Dude rolled his eyes and said, "Sit wherever, whatever." Swinging his arms and whatnot. My wife asked him again how he was doing and if he was ok. He angrily answered, "WHY?!!" I was talking to my partner about the event and was also paying attention to the interaction. His body language was horrible. Maybe it was a chemistry thing, perhaps pheromonal or frequency related (?!), or maybe since it was about an hour from closing he didn't want to work and he just saw us as work, and maybe an odd trio (we're actually hella cute and down by law and my son is like the cutest boy you could ever imagine); we're neither rednecks, nor stereotypes nor your average white, black or hispanic fam. More like Real Earthling PC's and not NPC's, lol. My son went to sit at the booth. I was still on a call, but I said, "hold on T...'" That's when a server a female server walked over. She might have been nice but she had a blank expression on her countenance and I couldn't tell. It just seemed from all that had transpired thus far that his place doesn't think they have to work when it's an hour from closing. If you want to close at 7 close at 7, but if you do that folks might come in until 6:59. Even if I didn't hear Emcee Oblivious's tone I would have told my fam to hold on. "We're not eating here" I said to them while still on the cell. "They don't want us here and they don't want to get tipped or make money for the biz that pays them, let's dip." My son was upset, I told him, "it's ok, we'll eat where the place wants to make money and serve us." Even if I didn't hear the Greeter's tone or witness the disrespect he purposely was throwing our way, his body language spoke volumes. I let him know that he is in the hospitality industry. that requires being hospitable. He said some irrelevant response like, "I'm human, I don't have to smile or be nice." I reiterated to the young man,"this is the hospitality industry not the inhospitable industry." His boss wasn't there. I found out later that he had left at 7 pm. This worker was acting like he was paying us to be there. I took my family to Whiskey Cake (great experince btw) and then came back about 30 mins later. I walked up to the staff and asked to talk to a manager or supervisor. They said they had none. That's when I spied Chuckles again and asked him who his manager was. He said that they left at 7. He sarcastically asked me if I'd like to leave a complaint on some form and I said, "no I want to talk to your manager, first you need to understand what I'm trying to tell you." I reiterated my earlier points. He was looking me in the eye when he exclaimed again, "I'm a human! I don't have to smile ever!" He said, "I've gotten $100 and $200 tips when I wasn't smiling!" I was like, "Huh?! Some masochists or self-loathing weirdos but bruh not real people, no way anyone with any sense would tip someone who wasn't feeling them and let them know by looking irritated or being foul the whole time, GOH!" I then told him, "this must be about, hometraining, I get it." He retorted I'm rubber you're glue...lol, for real though he said while pointing at me and looking me up and down, "THIS must be about hometraining!" I said yeah proper upbringing man! I also said, "you're going to double-down on you being this way huh? This ain't poker!" He said, "you doubled-down by coming back here an hour later!" I said "YEP!" I actually returned 30 minutes later to talk to the manager without my baby and wife around. I told Mr. Congeniality, "bruh I'm going to triple-down, and come back when your manager is here," he literally said "whatever buddy!" I said, "OK BUDDY." read more

I tried this restaurant after walking by it several times. Was a bit of a wait to get a table, but it was well worth the wait. The hamburger was the best in La Cantera and the avocado toast and tomatoes barata were amazing. The only con I would say other than the wait was one of our items took an hour to come out, but the manager compensated the wait with giving the item to us for free. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone eating at La Cantera. read more

I go to Bazille at least once a month, the Hamburgers are a great surprise, the crab bisque and the Saladas are a very good option, the service is of course the Nordstrom way, definitely a very good place for lunch or brunch on the weekends. read more

First time in since the remodel. I think they did a great job. My wife and I were in for lunch over the weekend. Laine was warm, friendly and helpful. The manager Lisa made some great recommendations and checked on us often without being intrusive. The Kung Pao Brussels Sprouts , Halibut and Chips were delicious and of course the white chocolate bread pudding never disappoints( No really, it's a must when you come in). Kitchen was busy but our food came out hot and fast. Lanie took great care of us.The new menu and restaurant is definitely an upgrade. Plus now they serve cocktails. La Cantera doesn't offer a huge selection of restaurants that accommodate a tight lunch break but Bazille does and the food is simply amazing! My usual order is the Cilantro Lime Shrimp Salad, flavorful, filling, and healthy; what more could you ask for in a meal? Saturday though I wanted to change my order up and ordered the Crab, Mango, and Avocado Salad. Boy, have I been missing out; the crab and mango were perfect complements to each other while the avocado added a creaminess to the texture. The spicy/peppery arugula balanced the sweetness from the mango to make the perfect salad. If you are not having a health conscious day, I suggest you try the Roasted Turkey and Avocado Sandwich with Fries. The sandwich is savory, creamy, with the perfect crunch from the toasted bread. The fries are some of the best fries I have ever had, salty, seasoned, perfectly thin, and crunchy! The service isn't over the top wonderful or horrible, they are busy but do the best they can! You still have a fabulous sit down lunch in less than an hour, which while shopping is a bonus in my book! read more

I am so disappointed. I took my family here 2 weeks ago. We frequented this place I under its prior concept as Nordstrom Cafe and loved the food. My first visit as Bazille left much to be desired. We had to ask for more silverware which still didn't get enough and had to share. It took 40 minutes for kids pasta and a salad. I watched the salad sit at the counter for 10 minutes before we were served it. The lettuce was wilted but we were so hungry I ate it. The kids pasta was flavorless. But the worst was the legendary crab bust soup-- something was missing like creme. It tasted like a salty red chowder. My heart is broken. We'll be going to Whiskey Cake from now on. read more
