I have been a regular visitor here for several years . I enjoy the food and love to sit outdoors . My visit today was awkward and I actually considered leaving. Upon arrival I crossed paths with a very familiar server and asked if I could have a table outdoors on the patio which was practically empty. Like always, she was very friendly and asked me which table I wanted . I chose a table that was out of direct sunlight, but that had not yet been 100% cleared which was not an issue of concern for me. Within 5 minutes of sitting at the table the server appeared and asked me if I was dining in. I said yes and was told that next time I need to check in with the hostess before sitting down . I attempted to explain that I was greeted by one of her fellow servers who told me to have a seat wherever I desired . I was then approached by the hostess who also reprimanded me for not "checking in" with her first. The only other guests on the patio were clearly uncomfortable with the petty and completely unnecessary lecture about seating protocol on a practically empty patio. The food as expected ,was delicious. However, a refresher course in hospitality is much needed. I can choose to spend my lunch hour and my money anywhere. Being made to feel as if I am an inconvenience to staff or being made to feel unwelcome was not a positive experience. More than enough said. read more

Stopped by for early dinner and had great service! Hubby had an overstuffed Rueben! He loved it. I thoroughly enjoyed my chipotle chicken on focaccia. Their basic guacamole and the delightful mango avocado salsa are both tasty without being too spicy. We split a very nice chocolate cake - sweet without being TOO sweet with terrific frosting. The place is really nice and colorful. We came in rather early and had a nice booth with a beautiful brass table top. The seats were super comfortable as well so, decor-wise, this was already looking good. The place got packed very quickly and to-go orders did delay our food a bit but it was well worth the wait. Loved this place! Great food, love the homemade chips + avocado mango salsa. It has a little kick but so good! I got the turkey avocado, simple but refreshing and tasted delicious. Grilled Reuben was temperature hot but SO good! We all enjoyed our food and drinks. The waitress was attentive and refilled our drinks often. Overall the place is nice and clean. Wham! Slam! Thank you, Pam! This is such a cool restaurant! It's a local place, tucked in the corner of a fun shopping center. It's got a cute outdoors patio area that's positioned with shade. The food was incredible. I got the sandwich, which seems to be the specialty. You can get a half, or just a few $ more get the whole dang thing. It's worth it. It was served on a flaky, heavenly bread. Piled high with fresh ingredients, it sang with freshness. The sandwich was nom. The decor is fun- lots of cool artists and stuff that looks like it was sorta mishmashed together. The service was a bit relaxed, but they were super friendly about it and brought us some stuff to snack on while we waited. The have a wine list and sell beer by the pint. I missed out on that. Stopped in for lunch today to try the Chalupa. I saw that someone had posted that it was really good in San Antonio restaurants on Facebook. I was in the area so I decided to try it. I got the Guadalajara, which is the bean and cheese Chalupa with guacamole on it. It was to die for. Not only was one Chalupa extremely filling I couldn't stop eating it even though I was already full 3/4 of the way through it. It was absolutely delicious. I used to come here for dinner and eat steak bites and the salmon dish, which were amazing. I popped in around lunchtime and just ordered it to go. They were extremely quick. Good: 4/5 - I got the 1/2 Reuben with a cup of gumbo, wife got the Thai beef salad and our friend got the Greek salad with chicken. Food was tasty and came out pretty quickly. Only reason for the 4 was because of the sandwich- pastrami was sliced too thick so messy to eat. Ambience: 5/5 - cozy, nice decor and comfortable seating. No loud music which was a plus. Service: 5/5 - friendly staff, checked on us often without getting annoying. All in all a delightful experience and we will definitely return! Ps: Fun fact - my ex-wife of 18 years used to go here every Tuesday to meet a friend and have lunch and play mahjong. I refused to visit here but my current wife was adamant and so we went. The Chicken Saltimbocca is to-die-for. The tenderness of the chicken is perfectly paired with the creamy savory sauce. It's always a great meal at Pam's Patio Kitchen. I laughed when the hostess asked if we wanted to eat outdoors. No thanks. It's 100 degrees. I don't understand people who eat outside in this heat. Ruben, who recently came to Pam's took great care of us on this visit. He has a lot of restaurant experience. It was a hot day and I enjoyed a Live Oak Pilsner. Lightm crisp, a little hoppy, and refreshing. We split a Caesar salad and you can taste the anchovies. Legit. My wife had the nachos and there was a big ole pile of tasty guacamole in the middle and a molcajete of pickled jalapenos. Not too hot, but very flavorful. I had the Salmon Pomodoro. Seared fresh Salmon fillet topped with Sun Dried and fresh Tomatoes, capers, purple onion, and Basil leaves beside fresh Spinach steamed with olive oil, wine, and garlic. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the topping flavorful. I asked for lemon to add a little acidity. The side was sauteed spinach, which was very good. My wife ordered strawberry cake for dessert. We headed to @pamspatiokitchen for lunch today. I had seen it a few times when shopping in the plaza. Dad and hubby had the Strawberry Lemonade, and I had the Mimi Rose. Hubby started with a cup of the Chicken Tortilla Soup, and he loved it. Dad and I shared the cup of Cream of Zucchini. It was good as well. We got Dad the Grilled Ham and Cheese. He enjoyed the chips and salsa that came with the sandwich and ate half. I had the Chicken Salad on foccacia bread. It was only ok, nothing too special. Haven't been to Pam's in a while, but after this visit, I won't be returning. The pricing is completely out of line for what you get. A "build your own" sandwich starts at $15, but adding basic items like bacon (+$4) and just two slices of ham (+$6) quickly drives the price up. Even having it grilled costs an extra $2 which feels excessive for something that should be standard. On top of that, the nachos were just as disappointing $16 for what tasted like canned beans and microwaved. All in, we spent about $75 on two sandwiches, nachos, a cup of soup, and a drink and there are definitely better ways to spend that kind of money on food. read more

I sent you the link and she said let's do it. When I arrived in our scorching hot weather it was nice to walk into a cool place. We ere created by the host and seated promptly. The place had a nice, clean, cozy feeling. They had a plenty of options that meet my needs. I ordered the veggie club special with water since it was hot. My husband ordered the bean and cheese chalupa with an unsweetened tea. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich. Our food was delicious!! The salsa was the best I have ever had! It had such a spicy kick that I craved more. Let's say it cleared out my sinuses. Everything looked and tasted great! When I saw fruit with my meal I was expecting a small mix of assorted fruit. You know mango, grapes, strawberries. They gave me a small slice of an orange. I also had a dill pickle spear which was nice. Overall, I would definitely recommend. The ingredients are fresh and the quality definitely matches the price. My husbands chalupa looked good so next time I want that. If you're in the area give this place a try. Came here for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. It wasn't busy but we were greeted immediately as we walked in. The restaurant was cute inside and had a very nice patio outside. We were offered some bread to start with. It was okay. I ordered the Thai beef salad. This salad was FANTASTIC! It hit all the Thai flavors. Spicy, sour, fresh, just a real treat. I let my husband have a bite and he was jealous he hadn't ordered it. I definitely would recommend this for a casual dinner or lunch. Come have a glass of wine and eat the salad. I lived near Pam's Patio Kitchen for 20 years but didn't try it until we moved to another part of San Antonio. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon around 4:45, and I was disappointed to find the menu only offered lunch, which was different from what I had seen on Yelp. After finishing, I asked the waitress why they didn't serve hot dishes, and she explained that dinner service didn't start until 5. She could have mentioned that when we arrived! We wouldn't have minded waiting the 15 minutes. I'd like to give it another shot now that I know when dinner begins! I'm not sure when that will occur as I'm still feeling a bit annoyed. read more

Sky wait was our server and she was fine. Chicken Tom kha gai soup - it was ok and the taste wasn't that great . I would rate 3/5 The chicken nachos - 2/5 it had a lot of cheese on it and we didn't like it. Mango avocado salsa - 5/5 it was amazing and tasted great The other 2 salsas were ok but weren't that great. The double chocolate cake wasn't that great. 2/5. I used to go here all the time but I haven't been since before 2020! Needless to say things have changed. The good is still good but the amazing strawberry lemonade Pam used to make is no longer. It's just lemonade then they add strawberry pieces. Pams used to be made with the strawberry and it was pink! And you used to go up and refill when you were done. Now, a glass of the lemonade is $4 NO REFILLS. I asked for one to go and she said it would be ANOTHER $4 fee added. O obviously declined. Obviously things change, inflation etc. This was just very disappointing for lemonade with added strawberry pieces. But worth it. The food was delicious though! If you are going to try it for lunch during the week, get there around 11:30 or you will be waiting. The food was definitely worth the wait and the service was good. It seemed the at there was a little confusion with the staff and assigned tables at first but it actually made for a better situation as they worked in tandem. It comes with the most amazing chips and salsa as well. The sandwich is super packed with flavor and it's messy! I mean, really messy! Well spaced, outdoor seating is a must during COVID-19. Reservations are also a good idea... I showed up at 5 to get a table for 4 adults and 1 kid. I was originally told they were fully booked but then the guy came back and said we could have a table that didn't have a reservation until 7... I was confused as to why it was an issue but not worried about it enough to change places since the rest of our group was driving to meet me. Like many places, they have replaced menus with small pieces of paper with QR codes on them. It is an easy modification since almost everyone has a smart phone with a camera that can use this kind of technology. There was one for drinks and one for food. Bread was brought out in a paper bag so it was covered and had minimal hands on it that we could see. Staff was masked the whole time. And wore the masks correctly (it goes over your nose too). One waitresses was busy spraying and wiping down surfaces throughout out time there. There was hand sanitizer by the door inside since you had to go inside for the restroom. Staff were wearing masks inside too. The food was fantastic and the service was good. Our poor waitresses, we got so caught up in catching up that it took a while to even look at the menus. Everything was full of flavor and extremely filling. The salsa for the tacos is not for those with faint taste buds.... The Pad Thi looked and smelled amazing. If we get to go back soon, that is what I'm getting... Tip: want to share a dish? Just ask for an extra plate and divide the food yourself, otherwise there is an up-charge.
