BEWARE: PORTIONS ARE HUGE! The food was good! A lot of different sauce options. We had the sweet potato fries- wish they were more crispy, but it was good. Regular fries were good. All the chicken hit the spot. Boneless and traditional both were really good. That's the flavor of the sauce and the texture/ flavor of the chicken. Service was awesome! We had a big party and the young lady did a great job taking care of us all. The place itself was clean, plenty of space and seating options. The ambiance is chill, laid back and very casual. The service is good. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and the waiter took time to explain the menu thoroughly. I enjoyed the fried dumplings alot. I ordered the Galbi wings. Here is where I am torn. The chicken wings were a good size, cooked well, and crunchy. That was the goal but I am not sure if I am impressed with my flavor choice. I ordered Galbi flavored and it didn't taste like Galbi at all. It was sweet with a very light soy taste. I don't know anyone's Galbi that tastes like that. It was not a bad sauce but I should have ordered something with some heat instead. The pickled radish is perfect and a clean refresher in between chicken bites. Great service right off the bat and no wait time, which is always a win. I ordered the 8-piece honey garlic wings, and honestly... these might be the most flavorful wings I've ever had. The flavor is unreal, but what really sets them apart is how perfectly cooked they are. I don't know what kind of batter bb.q Chicken uses, but it's somehow crunchy and soft at the same time, with every bite hitting just right. The So ddeouk So ddeouk was a new twist to mini sausage for sure. Really enjoy the pickled daikon radish that accompanies the chicken. The selections offered spice, sour, sweet, and savory. This place is absolutely amazing! They had some different menu items than what I'm used to in Orlando, and I absolutely loved it and indulged. (Pictures of what we ordered are attached). I introduced my mom to this place, as she had no idea this hidden gem was in her city. She enjoyed everything, as well. The Customer Service is also just as satisfying. They are so sweet and I felt valued as a customer. They got a part of my order wrong, never caught an attitude with me, and fix it right away. The only reason why I had to take one star away is because the Ddeok-Bokki was cold. It still tastes a good, it was just cold and I like all of my food piping hot. (If this place was close to my home, I would've just thrown it into the microwave, no biggie, but I was about 30 minutes away from my mom's house). That said, I am still so elated that San Antonio doesn't have one but Who locations to choose from??! I hope they understand how lucky they are. Orlando area only has one (but I'll take it!) Ordered Gangnam style and spicy galbi! The flavors are fantastic overall but the chicken could use more of a crunch. We ordered 9 wings Gangnam style and 9 boneless spicy galbi. The spicy galbi had more of a moist sauce compared to the Gangnam style but both were quite delicious. They have happy hours Monday-Friday for ~ 3 hours at 4 pm, which includes 50% off draft beers. We went around 3 pm so there was plenty of parking in the parking lot and only one other customer. This was our second time here and boy they did not disappoint! As usual greeted and sat right away, minute later we were greeted by our waitress. We knew what we wanted to so we ordered most things right away. We were served our Soju right away and even had the fisrt shot poured for us. Few minutes later we got our Rose' Ddeok-Bokki! A Classic Korean street food made from rice cakes and fish cakes in a sweet and spicy chili reduction that was so tasty and saucy! we also got our So-Ddeok So-Ddeok which is crispy rice cakes and sausage! Eaten together it's like heaven! Saucy, crunchy and savory! Last but not least we got our Gangnam Style bone in wings! The flavor was supposed to be a black pepper sauce but I didn't taste any black pepper... Not to say they were not awesome, perfectly crunchy, sauced and juicy! The restaurant has been clean both times we went and there is K-Pop playing so its very lively inside! The bench seat along the wall is a bit tall for the tables IMO and kind of uncomfortable. Ambiance is laid back. Service was ok. We got our order in a timely manner. They brought us a cup of ice with our canned soda. Our waffle fries came out and then our order. I had ordered 3 lunch specials @ 13.00 each and 1 waffle fries after tax was $49.79. A little pricey. The food is delicious. It's a lot closer than the one in Austin tx. The wings were great. I love the crunch, the size and the flavor. The service was good. I have to remove two stars for the limit of 1 flavor per order. Even if ordering 18 wings, you only get ONE flavor. Korean wings are the ONLY place that does this. Every other wing place you can pick different flavors. The quality of the to-go wings are definitely not as good as freshly made, given the time it takes for delivery etc. I will say that the chicken is definitely juicier and the wings are crispier than if you get your order to-go. My go-to flavors are spicy original and soy garlic, which I got both of them bone-in. The rose ddeokbokki accompanied the wings perfectly, and the sauce from the ddeokbokki is perfect for dipping the wings in too. There are Korean music videos playing on the TVs, with K-pop music playing overhead. The service is okay, nothing outstanding but also not bad either. If you're in the area, this spot definitely does Korean fried chicken solidly, so it's worth a dine-in experience if you've previously gotten it delivered or to-go. read more

I was really looking forward to trying bb.q Chicken in San Antonio, especially since I lived in Korea for two years and know how amazing Korean fried chicken can be. Unfortunately, my first visit, along with my child, left me feeling offended and disappointed. When we walked in, I assumed it was a counter-service setup where you order, and they bring the food out to you. No one asked if we were dining in or taking out, so I placed our order, left a tip, and we sat down at a table to wait. They gave us canned drinks and bottled water, which seemed normal at first--until I noticed something strange. A couple who came in after us was seated by the staff, had their table set, and was served drinks in cups. Meanwhile, we were left waiting, with no indication of when our food would be ready. Then I saw them place our order on the counter and just leave it there without calling our name or letting us know it was done. When I walked up to ask if that was our food and mentioned that we were dining in, they brushed me off, saying it was my fault for not specifying--when they had never even asked in the first place. There was no attempt to fix the situation, no apology, just blame. At that point, I asked if we could just have the bag and eat from the to-go containers. The whole experience was frustrating, especially since I was there with my child. I know what good Korean service looks like, and this was far from it. Even casual restaurants in Korea make sure their diners are taken care of. The food might have been good, but I honestly couldn't enjoy it after how we were treated. I was so embarrassed sitting there eating from a bag. Staff need an attitude adjustment. We did not feel welcome in the slightest. read more

They're back on their game! I have been going to bb.q chicken for a little over a year now but the last few months the wings weren't as good. Either they were fried too hard - to the point it was difficult to eat them - or the flavors weren't just as good as the were previously. We figured it was due to their expansion efforts in our city. Love it here! It's a great alternative to BonChon since there's not a single one here in San Antonio. It was a very pleasant Sunday lunch with cousins. I ordered wings with the secret sauce, my cousin had the soy garlicand the other one got the cheesling. Love my wings with secret sauce but boy oh boy next time I'll get the cheesling instead. It looked dry in the outside but one I take a bite the cheese tasted delicious and it's milky and cheesy goodness on my mouth, love it. Love my sweet potato fries as well though I love more radish cubes, they should have bigger servings as a regular accompaniment of each of chicken, there are two slots on each sides of the metal wire basket anyways. Would definitely love to come back here, just wishing they'll open more stores closer to 1604 NW area, or else wishing also BonChon finally comes to San Antonio. The staff was warm and welcoming, love our server (Nakora I. That's what says on my receipt), she was patient and attentive. I was really excited to see how close this place was to my hotel. I've been craving Korean fried chicken and placed a pick up order. I ordered the half and half boneless chicken with a side of fries, pickled radish, and ddeok-bokki. It was ready for pick up within 20ish minutes. My only complaint is how little we were given for French fries. There was barely anything in the bag. Not to mention, there wasn't any seasoning with it. It wasn't too bad...for those that fear the spice, it was more of a half pepper on the four pepper scale. My buddy kept it mild with honey garlic. Both had a good balance of chicken to batter. If I were to come back, I might try the spicy galbi chicken flavor. They also have wings, but I was impressed with the flats on this visit, if only for the portions. The lunch special comes with flats or wings and a drink for $11.99. Service was attentive and made sure we didn't need for anything. Hands down my favorite lunch spot when I'm at work! Boneless honey garlic wings are my go to! A Medium order is 9 pieces and a Large is 18 pieces and these pieces are not wimpy either! Super crunchy, juicy, and flavorful. I've gone twice and have ordered the same thing (M) Honey Garlic and haven't been able to finish it.
