The restaurant is on the right side of the hotel. Easy to miss if youre walking fast. my wife and I came an hour before they closed and they were very welcoming. We ordered two burritos: chill verde and mushroom chorizo. Got two drinks: horchata and espresso tonic. Burritos were good but a bit small. They had these potatoe clusters in them that were good. Would definitely get tbe mushroom chorizo burrito again. Both drinks were refreshing! We ended up eating in the hotel lounge and patio. Nice area but there were alot of plantains that had fallen onto the floor. Would come back for their burritos and drinks! read more

Ok sorry to say I didn't really like this burrito at all. I actually tossed out the last bite. Which is unheard of for me. The customer service was outstanding. The horchata and the twice fried potato's were awesome. But the burrito as a whole did t have enough eggs. The sauce instead just did t do it for me. Bacon was run of the mill. I wanted to get another burrito from somewhere else.this is how I feel when the food sucked. But already ruined appetite. And money wasted. I did have a hunch not to go. But I was in the neighborhood for two appointments. And it was on my personal list to try. The hotel environment was cool kinda "shining" vibes. I don't like doing bad reviews but this is how I feel. Got the mushroom chorizo and it was good! Loved the vibe of this place! It was tiny, but the art was really cute and creative, and it's located in Pasadena hotel, so you can enjoy your burrito at the lobby or in their courtyard. Breakfast burritos all day definitely has a nice ring to it. The price range is comparable to nearby Wake and Late. My husband and I shared the mushroom chorizo and the chili verde braised pork burritos. While we're not vegetarians or vegans, we really enjoyed the flavorful mushroom chorizo. I was initially concerned that the chili verde might be too spicy, but thankfully, it had just a mild kick. The braised pork was tender and juicy, and the eggs were wonderfully pillowy and fluffy. The only thing I felt was missing? Tater tots instead of potatoes. I also personally prefer my breakfast burrito's tortilla grilled/toasted rather than just rolled and wrapped, which is why I'd choose Wake and Late over BBAD. A nice perk is that you can eat in the lobby of the Pasadena Hotel, where they have a self-serve water stations. The word is out on BBAD. I've seen the heavy hitters of the city plugging into the goodness of BBAD of late, and I cannot say I blame them. BBAD is truly a uniquely special joint for Pasadena and LA folk and should not be slept on. The beauty of the burrito here really starts and ends with the potato pave. The love that is put into these crispy, layered squares is noticeable, and is the star of the show here in all of their burritos. Personal favorite is the chile verde, with a pork so tender the juice just bleeds right into those crispy potatoes so beautifully. The mushroom chorizo is also a great get if you are wanting to go a bit on the lighter side/no meat journey. When the joint first opened, they also offered a vegan cheese sauce that I dream about weekly and hope they consider bringing back one day! Until then, we'll keep swimming in their addicting housemade hot sauce and savoring over those little pave pillows. Buy into the hype now... it's so real. read more

My wife and I were visiting family in Pasadena recently so we stopped by Bbad because we were hungry and we loved the name. We both had the mushroom chorizo burrito and it was amazing. I'm blown away. The only regret I have is I didn't have more food. Because the one burrito I had was damn near life changing. The service was amazing. The guy checking out gave his input and was super cool. The vibe was great. It's small but had a cool hop aura. The star tho, was the burrito. This is one of those funny places where you have to look to find it but when you find it, you'll get a pretty OK breakfast burrito.

Basically was scammed by this spot. Ordered a chile verde burrito with "braised pork". The breakfast burrito came with ZERO meat but that's not even the disappointing part. Decided to still try to enjoy the burrito and see if the $18 price point is justified. Immediately I noticed these mushy inedible "potato cubes" I guess you could call them. The breakfast burrito itself lacked any hint of flavor it was basically a flour tortilla with 2 eggs over easy. Chile Verde salsa was non existent or maybe it was not but because lack of flavor didn't notice it. Side salsa they charge for which is unheard of in most spots is EXTREMELY oily. Haven't really came across a salsa that consist of more oil than anything. The oil made it quite inedible as well. Salsa comes in a paper cup as well. Diabolical. All in all I had to call it quits after a couple bites and an attempt to try to enjoy it. For the 18 dollar price point there are probably 10-15 different spots within a 1 mile radius that would get you a WAY BETTER breakfast burrito for half the price. Shame this food had to go to waste. Update: since I left this review the owner of this establishment has since responded saying I didn't enjoy the burrito because it was delivered and cold. It was neither. I was really excited to try this place. It is located in a hotel that has amazing places to sit and have your burrito. The cashier was very helpful and patient. I ordered one burrito and after taxes and tip I paid about $19-$20, which I think is high for a small burrito. The ambiance felt a bit like they turned the full size kitchen into a smaller kitchen with a register. You will get better ambiance in the hotels lobby. Mushroom Chorizo- 4/10 This is the only non pork option on the menu. The mushroom chorizo and potato pave were both burnt. The famous potato pave tasted like burnt kettle chips. The habanero hot sauce tasted like Pace salsa but more acidity. Habanero hot sauce is what made this burrito hard for me to eat as it threw off the flavor. read more

Connected to Pasadena Hotel & Pool, Bbad is a small spot serving up breakfast burritos and drinks. I have nothing but positive things to say about the staff and service. The workers were all warm and welcoming, which is always deeply appreciated. I was really hoping to be blown away by the food, but my husband and I found it to be just okay. We ordered the chili verde with braised pork. My husband got the standard burrito ($17), and I got mine as a bowl because I'm gluten-free ($19). In my bowl I got over-easy eggs instead of the scrambled, and it cost $2 extra. To me, charging $2 extra for the way you want your egg cooked is absurd. They told us $1 is for the extra labor because the scrambled are made in bulk and $1 is for the increase in egg cost. I do understand that we all are facing expensive costs with groceries and eggs, but a whole two dollars extra because I want fried eggs over scrambled just doesn't seem right. The cubed pork meat was tender and had decent flavor. The chile verde sauce itself was not our favorite. It almost tasted like a thick, smoky gravy and was a lot different from most chile verdes we've had. It just was a bit lacking and mid. Our dishes also came with a side of a green salsa, which had no heat or real flavor. Their speciality potatoes were super crispy, which gave a good crunch, but hot damn they were so greasy. One thing about me is I love potatoes in all their forms, but the amount of grease on these potatoes was a little off-putting. Given the richness of the pork as well, it was just a bit too much. I enjoy the creativity of having a breakfast burrito option that is less traditional than other spots, but it just didn't quite meet our expectations given the hype. I will say their vegan horchata is absolutely excellent though! Bbad is definitely nowhere near our favorite spot for breakfast burritos. read more

Been wanting to try Bbad for a while and recently stopped by. The burrito was great, the chipotle sauce and crispy potatoes are what made it for me! But I can't get on board with places like this - that overcharge for a stingy portion of food. Just because they got some viral attention and hype doesn't mean you should charge people $17 for a burrito. Of course it's not worth $17, it's just a burrito, and it's also too small for the price. To me, this place was ok. Not something I would go back again for just because of my first time experience of how inconvenient the parking was. I Got that chili verde burrito. I called in the order. So it was ready when I got there. Had mine Togo, so I don't know if there was a place to sit. Place is super small. (Don't blink) you'll miss it! If you're in a rush, just park out front in the loading zone jump out go grab your pre ordered burrito and leave. Would I go there again? Probably not. Then we go to the park where I enjoy my breakfast while she rolls in the grass. I've been to dozens of different places over these months. The spot is located on the corner of the Pasadena Hotel. While it's not affiliated with the hotel, you do get access to the courtyard--which I'll get to in a moment. I received my burrito in a reasonable amount of time, even though there were plenty of walk-up and pickup orders. When we asked if there was seating, we were directed to the courtyard, which was spacious with plenty of tables and shade. Strolling through the Pasadena Hotel, you'll notice everything is well-maintained and clean. Now, onto the burrito! We unwrapped it, and wow--those potatoes were delicious! The way they prepare their potatoes is noticeably different from what you'd find at most local spots. Typically, other places that use potatoes in their burritos rely on frozen hashbrowns, but not here! This place uses freshly prepared, layered, crispy potatoes that add a whole new level of flavor. Tried this place for the first time. Its connected to the beautiful Pasadena Hotel and I was excited to try it out. The BBAD staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. The portion was generous, but I was taken aback by the $17 price for a Bae-con (bacon) burrito at an order-at-the-counter restaurant. The burrito was okay, but with perhaps too much sour cream, for my taste. The nice thing is that you can eat in the hotel lobby (tables are available) or in the hotel courtyard, which are both beautiful. For a $16 burrito 2 pieces of pork! So for a potato and egg breakfast burrito. It was very good. Update! I changed my 3 stars to a 5. Went back for this epic burrito. They changed the pork on the Chile Verde burrito to pork shoulder and it's much better I think. It's a little messy but with the over easy egg it's so juicy and full of flavor.
