This place is standard. It wasn't extraordinary but still pretty good. 1. Wait time on a Saturday morning at 12:30pm - none. PLUS 2. Service - excellent! My server suggested an half order of banana crunchy French toast. The food came out pretty quickly and my server brought me everything I asked for. 3. Food - the French toast was good, but it wasn't mind-blowing. Would I have it again? Yes. I also ordered a tuna melt, pretty yummy. The downside? fries were salty, I should've gotten a coffee cake. Maybe another time 4. Price - fair I will have to say, there were some flies inside of the restaurant and I saw it flying around the food at the kitchen counter. But hey, it's a cafe after all. read more

I have drove by here many times on the weekend and saw lines of people waiting to get in. So when my neighbor invited me to go to breakfast and chose this place I was excited to try. We got in line and at the front door I could see in and thought it look like a barn ,well I was there for food. I ordered the corned beef hash and it was big time disappointing, it was like strings of beef mixed with potatoes . I asked the waitress about it and she said they cook it in house and that's the was they cooked it. Ok, well I ate the eggs and some of the potatoes but left most of it. Came in with a group on Sunday, the wait wasn't too long so that was nice. Had the country fried steak and have to say it's the best one I've EVER had. Everyone was happy with their dishes. Also shared the French toast and that was yummy. read more

The location is fabulous. Sadly, the meal my friend and I ordered were terrible. The waffles were thin and unappetizing, and the chicken sandwich was rubbery and unappetizing. The iced latte was delicious though. read more

This place is still good, even during the pandemic. So, I ordered the Steak and Eggs, with the Potato Pancakes (fully loaded with cheese, sour cream, and chives) and the coffee cake. So much food, I ended up taking half home for lunch. The potato pancakes surprised me the most -- the pancakes were crispy and the add ons just made it so much better. The steak was cooked to the proper temperature. For COVID, they had hand sanitation, indoor/outdoor dining with huge distances, and the employees were in masks. Ketchup, a delicious peppercorn sauce, and salsa were served in simple cups. read more

Second time here. We came for Father's Day. Of course there was a wait, been good food and Father's Day, but it wasn't too long. The prices here are amazing and the food portions are huge. You can easily share a plate or take home half. I had the Banana Crunch French Toast and my husband had an omelette. Food was hot, delicious and there was a lot of it. This is a go to spot when in Oceanside. Just be prepared for a little wait. read more

Wow. Amazing food. I had the corned beef hash and eggs. It's honestly enough food for three people! Coffee cake was my side! I saved it for breakfast the next morning and it was still to die for! The burrito was massive and flavorful. The biscuits and gravy were good--biscuits are more dense then this southern girl is used to. Overall great flavor. Plenty of food. Cool set up in the restaurant. Only negatives: small parking lot and we sat outside and it was like a greenhouse or sauna with that Cali sun beaming. Wish there was more air flow or fans. read more

It was our first time(my husband & I) here at Beach Break and it def did not disappoint. We were looking for a brunch spot and thankfully we found them on yelp. We were in O'Side for 2 weeks and we loved them so much that we ate there 3 times. The vibe was warm, welcoming, and laidback. Their servers were all smiles and gave great service. The food -- amazing. They don't shy away from their portions. And prices were reasonable. I love that you get 2 sides with the breakfast specials(if I'm not mistaken). Loved their coffee cake! If we're back in the area we will def come back here. Thank you Beach Break for the lovely experience. P.S We noticed there were always people smoking in the parking lot at the back of the resto. Terrific, scrumptious, amazing, and cute brunch spot just a few steps away from Oceanside's beaches. Lots of seating inside and outside. Love the local and coastal feel of this place with beautiful flower and beach decors inside. Staff were quick to seat us, take our order, and bring out our savory food. Loved my bacon, eggs, potato pancake, coffee cake and my fam loved their corn beef hash with toast. Green tea was soothing as well. Great service! None of the gas stations or 7-Eleven had bathrooms. The owner let us use the bathroom at Beach Break Café. The bathrooms are worth going to visit here. They are beautifully decorated! When we come back to Oceanside, we will definitely be trying this place. read more

Had brunch here on a Saturday at noon. Waited about 15 minutes. We sat at the counter and our servers was so great. Started with their vanilla coffee. I like that they serve real milk with their coffee. We shared the crunchy banana French toast, yummy. I ordered the ABC omelet with well done home fries and coffee cake. I love that the coffee cake is a side option with no up charge. All delish. We saw the club sandwich as we were leaving and it looked incredible too. Staff was extremely rude about their policy to not seat my friend until I arrived. We had been going there for 20 years. The hostess even went as far as laughing at us on the way out. This is the first negative review I have given any restaurant in years. They were awful. read more

we had small group reunion and had breakfast there. We were talking after finishing eating and we asked to leave because they needed the table. the last person had just finished eating and we were the only people in the outside dining area. The table was obviously not needed and I walked through the restaurant as I left and it was less than half full. Very rude and they will never see me again read more

Great atmosphere during our middle-of-the-week visit. We were told to avoid this place on the weekends due to the crowds. Service was extraordinary, not pushy, but helpful with answers to our menu questions. We ordered a Western omelet and corned beef hash breakfast. Both came with a side of toast and a choice of jellies. Bottom line - put it on your breakfast itinerary. read more

Service was nice and friendly. Food looked delicious. I ordered the pancake sandwich which came with 2 cakes, an egg and 2 slices of bacon (or sausage if you choose). The pancakes were gummy. It felt like I was fighting with my food trying to cut up the pancakes. I also ordered biscuits and gravy. The cup of gravy is not enough to drench the dry and heavy biscuits. My son enjoyed his awesome omelette with the potato pancakes. My sister had the Beach Break burger. We got there before the breakfast crowd so there was no wait, but we did see that line quickly lengthen. Parking can be a problem. read more

We love this special breakfast spot in Oceanside right off PCH. It reminds me of Hawaii where I'm from on the Big Island. They have a great breakfast menu, my husband loves the huge breakfast burrito and I love their crazy over the top, Banana Crunch French Toast! It is loaded with fresh banana slices and whip cream! Most importantly no matter what you get their coffee is award winning! And the service is great too, everyone loves a cheerful breakfast waitress well they are all a hoot- here, tons of personality and very attentive! I visited this area. And I went there because of good reviews. BUT I was very disapointed. Servies wasn't what I expected and omelett was so dry. When you order your omelett, you better ask not dry. The reason why I thought the service wasn't great was because I asked for some condiments and the waiter wouldn't give it and I patiently asked and when I asked he gave it to me with a slam. Dissapointed and won't be back anyway!! read more

Popular breakfast spot since the 80's that is right off historic 101 in Oceanside. Beach Break Cafe serves up American cuisine and is open for breakfast and lunch. It's a great spot to walk to after some time at the beach. Because it is a local favorite, there is usually always a line to get in. The inside is decorated with surf photos and colorful surfboards on the walls and ceiling. You have to start off with a cup of coffee and some coffee cake if you are going to come here. The Banana Crunch French Toast and omelets are some popular choices on the breakfast menu. The portions are pretty big and worth the wait to get in. We came here on a busy Saturday and got great service and enjoyed our meal. read more

For starters, this is the cutest little place ever. They are pet friendly as well and they have a heated patio. I was on a little staycation in Oceanside and decided to try this place before i went surfing. I am glad i did. Our waitress was so sweet and nice. She kept checking in with us and she was very patient. I ordered the coffee cake since everyone was raving about it in the reviews and i am glad i did because it paired great with my coffee. The coffee cake comes with a sweet glaze. I never had it like that before but I'm not complaining. Yum! I also got a vegetarian scramble with crispy hash browns and a veggie patty side. The breakfast comes in large portions and is reasonably priced and tastes really good. The pancakes are huge! Enough for 2 people to share 1. The wait was not long at all. We came at 8:30am on a Saturday and we were able to sit down immediately . I would recommend this place to anyone for a nice breakfast and cozy atmosphere. read more

I usually sort most reviewed around the area so we can try what's popular. This place stood for its said reviews. The servers were very welcoming to us when we entered. They were very friendly to our kids and gave them crayons to draw with. Food: I love chicken fried steak and they delivered! I always ask for soft scrambled eggs and most places miss that, but they got mine perfect. My wife got the crunch banana french toast and she loved it as well. This will be our main go to when we visit legoland. A must try. read more

We've been seated in Christy's section the last few visits and we are never disappointed she's attentive, fast, and kind! Very laid back environment, and great for the family! The tiny downside is that the oat milk kinda overpowers the matcha flavor. It was a nice smooth drink. We also ordered a chocolate croissant and it was good too. I was happily surprised to find this coffee shop and will definitely go back and even get coffee beans there.

I smiled and commented on the donuts and that broke their gossipy reverie. One immediately walked away like she couldn't be bothered to work, only a paid gossiper. There was no one in the store other than me. She rung me up with a flat attitude like she just got out of jail and was miserable. Her name is Bre. I ordered a dirty chai. With two other items. She wouldn't give a to go box like they usually do. It came off super cheap. She told me to just cover it with a lid even tho I told her I had a dog in the car that would eat it and it was chocolate sprinkle. Traditionally they stop and make the coffee and then move on to the next guest. She was in a really bad mood so she kept taking donut orders until about 5 guests deep. Then she got 2 other coffee orders so she stopped to make coffee. About 10 to 15 minutes after I paid for my other order she makes my dirty chai. A kid and a mom are right by the counter. The kid grabs my drink and spills it on the counter and on the floor. She sees this. It's right in front of her. She says oh no that's not yours. Then she wipes it off and tries to pass it off to me like I didn't see. I said no, you're not going to re make it? She goes no, it's not my fault he spilled it. I was like I want a refund. She goes why. I'm like the drink spilled and you didn't even offer or try to remake it. This place had really gone downhill. Service is awful. The donuts look nice but they've been sitting out and are stale. The same with crossaint I had. I would not go back here anymore. Awful experience. Drove out of my way to come here today. It's a shame. This place used to be really friendly and fresh and top of the line customer service, Management needs to rework things before they completely go downhill but it seems they are already there.

I came here specifically for matcha but luckily my husband had a latte so we could try both. I absolutely loved my matcha as it was delicious and refreshing. After he realized we were there to order takeout, he took care of us at the bar and saved us from a very long wait. We really appreciated this and understood he was very busy, but still made time to give us a great experience. It reminds us why we love going to this group of restaurants. We saw him again today and when we mentioned we're interested in going to Lilo for our Anniversary, he gave us a quick tour of the dining area, which was nice to see. Thanks, Jared!
