Hobie Sandwich
Mackenzy C.

We stopped by Beach Hut Deli in Davis before our road trip and it was perfect! We got the Hobbie sandwich and another one (can't remember the name, but it was just as good) -- both were absolutely delicious and super fresh. The whole vibe of the place feels like a fun beach hangout -- bright, relaxed, and full of good energy. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to stay for a beer and some music, not just grab food to go. Perfect spot for a quick bite before hitting the road -- highly recommend!

Nice environs and fresh foods.

Nice warm and close environs. Food are fresh. The only thing is a little confused when Google Map navigating me to the next-door dentist place.

Cali Caprese

We ordered the Cali Caprese and Skinny Dipper. I thought the cali Caprese was yummy, but not the best veggie sandwich I've had. As for the skinny dipper, it was a spectacular French dip...the au jus on the other hand was extremely bland. However, the sandwich without the dip was fantastic.

Stopping by the hut.

Awesome sandwiches!!! My favorite is the shark bite. But they have many great choices. They also have food veggies selections. As well as sala Lots of chips selection. Beer selection Sometimes they have some good cookies and stuff. Service here is always great. The ladies behind the counter are always friendly and good at making the sandwiches. Good spot to stay and eat either inside or outside. Or to take out.

My dog loves Beach Hut deli

We always get the Santa Cruz best place in town for a great sandwich staff always nice and polite

Takeout Review: I explore takeout options in davis and wanted to try this place because I always drive by it and it looked really cool from the outside. I ordered the "Malibu" sandwich as recommended on Grubhub and opted to pay for the small size ($11), and ordered it with Jalapeños. Keep in mind the full size is ($22). Unfortunately, for the money spent the size of the sandwich was pretty small and the jalapeños I had asked for was put to the side. I found it unusual because when there is an additional option to add stuff during ordering, you would think it usually means it would already be included in the sandwich so I found it strange they gave it to me on the side. To add on, for $11 you'd expect a fulfilling sandwich but it ended up leaving me still quite hungry due to its small size. The sandwich was a 6/10; not too great but not too bad. For a takeout experience or a bang for your buck meal, this is not the place that I would not recommend to anyone. My experience may have changed if sitting inside but this is strictly regarding my pickup/takeout experience.

Beach Hut Deli in Davis is a real find. By far the best sandwiches we've had in our university city. The meat to roll ratio is perfect. The sandwiches (all of ours on French Rolls) are generous, fresh, quality through-and-through. Excellent value for the money. The environment is clean and thoughtfully decorated in a Tiki Bar motif. The women who work here are thoughtful and gracious, as well as skilled at making a delicious sandwich. This is definitely our new go-to deli.

Found sandwiches just okay. Cute interior but very small. Outdoors seating quite noisy.

It's really no wonder Ikeda's was voted the #1 pie shop in America. My Tripleberry Pie was so good,…read moreI didn't get a chance to take a photo of it. Oh, well. I guess I'll just have to go back... The Davis location is much smaller with less inventory (and less busy) than the Auburn location. Be sure to stop by for the fresh fruits, too!

So I recently had to meet my sister in Davis to pick up some BBQ she made me and her meeting spot…read morehappened to be at Ikedas in Davis parking lot.Well since I had never been to the Davis location,I decided to walk on in and see if it was pretty similar to the Auburn location which I'd been to many times. Parking here is a breeze as they have their own open lot with plenty of spaces. Walking in,it's tough not to just be instantly mesmerized by the pure beauty of the local fresh fruit available. Beautiful peaches, nectarines, cherries and berries-it all look so gorgeous. Inside was a little cramped and I went before they were named the #1 pie shop in America,I'd imagine those tight quarters are having a time handling the crowds it's getting now. My top 3 things I love about Ikedas are as follows. 1.I've always loved the availability of their yummy tamales and really tasty chicken pot pies. Both are generally available fresh or frozen if you want to enjoy these goodies at home. 2.I've always loved the massive availability of hot sauces and snacks that both locations of Ikedas have always had on hand.I always made it a point when I was coming down the hill to stop at Ikedas in Auburn for a tasty tamale-now that I realize the Davis location is so much closer,I can see being able to enjoy those tamales and pot pies so much more often. 3.Pies-enjoying a pie from Ikedas always felt like something that locals knew and they shared with us out-of-towners whenever we happened to visit one of their 2 locations. With the recent award they received naming them best pie shop in America,I imagine those days are over and the secret is out.Now everyone will know what we knew way back when and hopefully this doesn't change them,I hope they can keep the high level of quality with what I'm sure will be a huge leap in demand-I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can. A bonus thing I love about Ikedas is their fruit freezes-they are so good,my niece hipped me to these and man are they worth the price of admission alone-they are so yummy-do yourself a favor and make sure to try one of these on your next trip to Ikedas. In closing, I'm so happy that Ikedas is finally getting the flowers they deserve with their recent award and I am proud to say I voted for them myself. If you haven't had the pleasure of visiting one of their two locations,do yourself a favor and get out there and grab some yummy fruit and a piece of pie-it's a good day spent for sure.

I went to Nugget for their pizza bagels and a chocolate croissant, and everything was so good…read more Their bagels are honestly some of the best in Davis. They have a really nice fluffy, airy texture and a great flavor that isn't overpowering. They're not too heavy or overly carby, just the perfect size, especially with cream cheese. I absolutely loved the pizza bagel. I also tried their chocolate croissant and was obsessed. It had the perfect amount of chocolate in every bite, and the chocolate itself was rich and semi-sweet, which I really liked. The staff was super helpful too. I wanted to order pizza bagels to go, and they helped me set up an order for next-day pickup with no problem. Prices are really reasonable as well. The croissant was around $3 and the pizza bagel about $4. Definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in Davis.

Review #1,021 Posted on 3.17.26…read more We came here on Saturday the 14th when in town for a soccer tournament in between our morning & afternoon games. This spot is located in a strip mall right off the freeway on Mace, it's the anchor store in that strip mall. This place reminds me of a Nob Hill, or Raley's, Safeway type of grocery store. You can tell a store has all kinds of good stuff when the deli is elite. This deli had a line and about 10-20 minute wait I'd predict when I was there, people ordering all kinds of different stuff from sandwiches to hot items they'll warm up for you, it was packed. Their produce aisle looks very appealing as strange as that may sound, I joked with my wife and daughter that they had a professional fruit stacker with how nice the fruit was stacked. Like most places now though, especially in California, cost of things is on the higher side.

At the register or at 1 of 2 kiosks. There is plenty of inside seating with a small outdoors patio dining area. We ordered: Lemon/Pepper Wings (Large $18.99) - really crispy and juicy. Good size wings. Good flavor. We got ours with Ranch... note, the dressing was a bit on the watery side. Crispy onion ($6.99) - extremely crispy crust... cannot even taste the onion. If you like fried batter, this is for you. Goes well with the Ranch dressing. I got the chili onion burger ($11.99). Messy as heck...decided to go the civilized route... ate it with a knife and for...saving the top bun to mop up any leftover chili. Love the raw white onions and cheese on top. Good flavor, bean to beef ratio is pretty good. Bathrooms are located past the video games... mens room on the right and women's room to the left. Men's room had only 1 sink/ 2 urinals and 2 stalls. They were out of soap when we were there. Room was spacious and clean. The restrooms appeared to be shared by both the bar and restaurant.
