We came in on a Saturday afternoon(3/2). There was no line, which was nice for a Saturday! The space was pretty quiet as well. The young lady at the counter gave the best customer service I've received in a while. She suggested my sister get her surfing bird on garlic bread and my goodness, that was delicious. First time at the Beach Hut Deli and the service and food get a 10/10, definitely recommend! The three young ladies working at the time of my visit were efficient and friendly. As they were processing my order and payment they asked how my day was going and what I had planned for the rest of the day. I ordered a small Hobi to-go. Compared to our favorite spot in Sacramento this location is very mediocre. The food was 50/50. My Sandwich was drenched in sauce I felt like I was eating a sauce sandwich. The bread is amazing I just didn't care for an extra extra saucy sandwich. The Reuben sandwich was great no complaints. Not overseasoned. The deli salads were probably not my favorite either The potato salad was very plain and the macaroni salad was not the best. The drinks agua frescas were very very good. Disappointing Experience at the Vacaville Location I've always been a big fan of Beach Hut Deli and have visited several locations across the Sacramento area and beyond. Normally, it's a go-to spot where I can count on a great meal, which is why I chose the Vacaville location for my birthday lunch. Unfortunately, this visit was a major disappointment. To start, the young lady at the counter was very kind and helpful--I want to acknowledge that. As we placed our order, she offered us the option to upgrade our sandwiches to meals with chips and a drink, which we both agreed to. However, we were then informed that they were out of ice. Not ideal, but things happen. We asked to remove the drinks from our combo since warm soda wasn't appealing. She processed the change, but then, just seconds later, she took down the "No Ice" sign from the soda machine--meaning they actually did have ice. That was frustrating and felt misleading. Then came the sandwich. The bacon was completely black--not just crispy or slightly overcooked, but burnt to the point of being a pile of charred crumbs. I could tell it had originally been bacon strips (I ran a deli for 10 years, so I know the process), but instead of serving edible bacon, it was crumbled up and mixed into my sandwich as if they were trying to hide it. If you're out of bacon, just say so or let me know I need to wait! Mixing burnt bits into the avocado, cheese, and sprouts made it impossible to remove without ruining the whole sandwich. I'm beyond disappointed that this location would allow such a poorly made sandwich to be wrapped and served. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was too busy chatting with my friend and trying to salvage what I could of my meal. Since this was my birthday lunch, I had been looking forward to it, but instead, I was left picking out burnt bacon bits while rushing to eat before heading back to work. A word of advice to the staff: If you wouldn't eat it, don't serve it to your customers. I truly hope this was just a one-off bad experience, but it has definitely left a negative impression. My wife and I stopped here on our way to Oregon. I've never seen a Beach Hit deli anywhere els. It looks like they are a small franchise chain in the Pacific Northwest, mainly California. Exhausted and sore from being in the car too long (I'm getting old) we meandered on into the beach hut. It's a really cute, beach themed place. It's very well decorated, vibrant and fun. I kinda perked up when we went in. I was also happy to use the gender neutral bathroom. The staff were very friendly and gave us plenty of time to choose what we wanted. There is an ample selection of sandwiches, salads and chips. They also have a coke machine where you can use the touch screen to choose from a variety of flavors. We decided to share a regular sized hot sandwich which was big and tasty. The bread in particular was prepared well. It was toasty on the outside and still a little soft inside which I love. Great sandwich spot in Vacaville. It's a fast casual kind of place where you order up front and they bring the food to you or you can take it to-go. Really unique interior decor with an island ambience and they even have beer on tap. I went for the first time and was immediately greeted by two employees and provided a menu while I waited in line. Pretty extensive menu with both hot and cold sandwich options. You can even get your sandwich on dutch crunch here. The lady who took my order was really friendly and helpful with my order. I had the "Sunburn" which was well seasoned and I could tell they didn't skimp on the meat. The reason for 5 instead of 4 stars is for the service alone. I was acknowledged right away and got my order in a reasonable time frame. I didn't feel rushed or like I was bothering them like at some other places I've been to recently. BEST SANDWICHES EVER!! My husband and I go here already and love the sandwiches especially when a few of them come with their homemade ranch. Today we did our first online to go order and it was hot and ready by the time we got there. Not only that, but the same warm, lovely greeting was there from the staff when we walked in (James, I'm talking about you buddy). When we got home which is in Suisun city, the sandwiches not only looked too perfect like in photos but also tasted the best they've ever tasted. I mean like WOW!!! Because of that, I can confidently order just a regular-size sandwich, and nothing else, and know that I will be full afterward. I've been into Beach Hut Deli before and decided to order via Doordash on my most recent experience. I couldn't decide what I wanted from their menu of cold and hot sandwiches, salads, and "beach munchies" including nachos, garlic bread, and hot dogs, so I ordered two sandwiches (the spicolli and the skinny dipper) and a side of tortilla chips and queso, figuring I would eat the other sandwich for dinner. I had made a note via Doordash to include extra ranch with the Spicolli and was pleased to see a side of ranch in addition to the ranch already on my sandwich when it arrived. Special instructions seem to be hit or miss elsewhere, so it was a nice "surprise." The spiccoli was delicious! The turkey tasted so fresh and their buttermilk ranch is great, as well. The edges of the bread were a little burnt, but just barely, so it didn't take away much from the sandwich. The Skinny Dipper was good, but same story with the slightly crispy bread. They were very generous with their portions of au jus and I ended up with some leftover. The chips and queso were good too and once again, they were generous with the queso dip, as well. I really like Beach Hut Deli for a little something different than other sandwich shops. This isn't just sandwiches and chips-- you can get a sandwich and garlic bread or sandwich and loaded nachos. When I've gone in, the theming is very cool and beachy, as well. The only negative is that their sandwiches are a little pricey, depending on what you get and the prcing stepoffs between sizes feel pretty steep. A large Spicolli for instance (3 inches larger than the regular) is a $4 price increase. However, you will get a quality sandwich, so it's well worth the indulgence. read more
