First off, the ambiance and the staff were awesome. Our waiter was super attentive and answered all of our questions and even had recommendations. I rate this kitchen a three star because of the food. We ordered mimosas to start, they even came with your own champagne bottle to refill. One mimosa is really about two mimosas because of this. The food was very underwhelming. I think the lemon ricotta pancakes took first, they were delicious. The second dish was carnitas and eggs, which was good but nothing special. Last was the eggs Benedict California style. The eggs were cooked all the way through which is not how a Benedict should be, the English muffin was hard as a rock, and overall was just not a good dish. The service and staff here are excellent and very attentive. Why only 3 stars? The food was just ok. It didn't live up to the expectations based on the Yelp scores and the pricing. I ordered the carnitas taco plate and my wife had the chicken fried steak. The carnitas had a lot of lime in it and made it rather acidic. Same went for the salsa verse that came with it. Everything else was great. On my wife's dish, the breading on the chicken was on the tough/hard side and the country potatoes had a heavy had of black pepper. We were looking for a new place to have breakfast and Beach Plum Kitchen fit the bill. For starters, their clean, pretty space puts you in a good mood. I just liked their use of pink, brown, gray and white colors. Our server was great and the menu offers a large variety of typical breakfast items. Food was good, wife had salad with smoked salmon which she liked surprisingly since she doesn't like smoked salmon. I had lobster roll, it was good although it was heavy on the may for $22-. Hostess sat us right away and she was nice so 5 stars for her. Cons: Server was either overwhelmed or didn't care. I can be critical as I was a server for years in my younger days. It took 10min to get ice tea and he took our order. Food was delivered by a food runner who was friendly, never saw the waiter again until I flagged him down to refill our ice tea. Paying $7 for ice teas that don't get refilled, being in the foodservice I know it cost them $0.03 for the tea. Didn't see him again until he dropped out check, then hands me the machine automatically asking for 22% tip. That's presumptuous but I'm sure most people just say OK. I tip according to service, had he been great he would have gotten a bigger tip than that. Poor service combined with the 5% surcharge for increased wages, I deducted from the tip. End result he got a 10%tip. we've eaten hear several times with good service, unsure if we'll go back with all the options around. read more

The wait time depends if you're picky and want to sit out in the patio, inside or at the bar. Let me tell you... my wife and I came in, put our name down and were seated in less than 5 minutes while others were still waiting to be seated! Took a minute to go over their menu and ordered... Within 5 minutes - our iced coffees were out! My homemade coffee cake was brought out too! Pretty much, as soon as I took a pinch of the coffee cake, our meals came out! Wow! Faster than Denny's or Ihop! The meals both looked and tasted amazing. I almost forgot to take a pic for Yelp and IG. I tried the monthly jumbalaya which had cajun style chicken, andoullie sausage, red bell peppers, fresh herbs, breakfast potatoes and eggs which I chose as over easy. My wife made a custom omellete with 5 ingredients. Looked tasty with extra mushrooms, cheese and avocado. What made her meal even better was the fresh made daily jams that came with her toast. My friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday morning and it was a good experience for us. We were seated right away to a clean table and someone came over to get our drink orders. It felt efficient. Our waitress was kind and helpful as well. I ordered a coffee, water, and a mimosa. For my main dish, I got coconut-almond crusted French toast and my friend ordered avocado toast and I believe carnitas and eggs. We loved our mimosas! My friend said her dishes were tasty. My French toast fell flat for me. The menu stated the coconut-almond crusted French toast consisted of Sadie rose challah, banana, whipped butter, and maple syrup. The toast wasn't crusted as coconut flakes and almond slices were strewn about. I was thinking the bread would be fluffy, but it wasn't. There was one small scoop of butter, which wasn't a deal breaker as I could have asked for more, but my issue was with the unripe banana slices. Maybe it's my weird thing where I despise the taste of unripe bananas and I certainly picked up on it when digging into my dish. It was a bummer for me. We ordered a dirty chai and regular chai with soy milk to drink. They were both smooth, tasty, cinnamony, excellent! This was followed by our order of chicken and waffles and machaca green chilaquiles. First the chicken and waffles were so decadent. The chicken was lightly battered and not dry at all. The waffle was fluffy, crispy, and buttery. We weren't really sure if you're supposed to eat the chicken and waffle separately or eat them together in one bite. We took a few bites of chicken, waffle with syrup and were not disappointed. It was a very nice combination. I also ate some of the chicken with sauce and it was scrumptious that way too. The machaca green enchiladas were delicious! I usually hesitate before ordering green salsa anything at restaurants because they tend to be really sour. Here, their salsa was very well balanced. The machaca was flavorful and had enough crunch to it. Overall, an excellent dish. Give them a try for a weekend breakfast. Definitely worth it. read more

On the first day, I had the salmon scramble. It was okay. I had some of my sister's Traditional Eggs Benedict and it made me regret my first choice. The next day, I ordered the "California" eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were perfect, along with the good-quality English muffin. It also includes oven-roasted tomatoes, avocado, and it's all smothered with a delicious, roasted jalapeño hollandaise sauce. O.M.G...it's superb. The sauce is silky, smooth (no chunks of jalapeños), and has a tiny kick, but it's not spicy at all. It comes with breakfast potatoes, which were undercooked on the first day, so I requested "extra crispy" the next day and it was perfect. The coffee cake and blueberry muffin were good, too. Customer service was pretty good. The host and hostess were very polite and welcoming! We waited about 20 minutes for my party of 4 (not bad). Our server, Aaron, was better than the one we had on the first day. He was polite, attentive, and efficient. Great location. We decided to sit outside on a hot and sunny day -- it started getting a bit too hot for our taste so the staff very kindly adjusted the positions of the umbrellas to provide some shade. I ordered the house cured pork belly hash which I deemed just okay (3.5/5). The potatoes were a bit hard and could have been cooked for longer. I also wish that the pork belly chunks were not quite so large--smaller bite-sized pieces would have been preferred. The dish itself had good flavor with the pork, bell peppers, and potatoes but I feel like it was a little bit under-cooked. Overall, it wasn't a bad dish but there is definitely room for improvement. The prices for this place are pretty standard, but I feel like there are some better options in the area that are even more affordable and better-tasting! I called to make a reservation but they use a waitlist, which was fine with me. By the time we got there, our table was ready. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We got our drink orders in before we even picked up the menu. And they have quite the selection. Everything sounded good! I was tempted to order the Lobster Roll, but decided on the Crispy Chicken Biscuit Sandwich and the hubby had the House Roasted Corned Beef Sandwich. Service wasn't great either, we were left waiting outside for a while with kids on a cold day, and saw a lot of people being let in while we were waiting. Overall left a bad taste in our mouth, literally and figuratively, and we won't be back. Also side note, thank you to the reviewer who mentioned to ask about the price of bacon which they just ask if you want as if it's included! Even the waitress was obviously uncomfortable letting us know that two pieces of bacon on the benedict would cost $6- like even she knew that's ridiculous. They also add a surcharge of 5% to your check that they have a small sign in the front about, but don't mention otherwise. Not worth it, imo. read more

My friend had recommended this place when I told her I was going to visit Legoland. I am so happy we decided to stop by for breakfast. We were promptly seat when we arrived. This is such a cute breakfast spot. We ordered: Lemon pancakes: 3/5 I was excited to order these because I love all things lemon. Unfortunately the lemon flavor was very subtle, so subtle that I could barely taste it. Maybe if they served it with lemon cream cheese spread with it, that would have made it 100 times better. The chicken reminded me of crispy chicken patties and the waffle was not fresh when it was served to me. I had a side of fruit and my friend had a side of clam chowder. Both the cups of fruit and clam chowder were served in portions that were a little bit larger than a t-cup. On the other hand, the service was awesome and our waitress was wonderful. The aesthetic of the restaurant was friendly and warm. Overall, although the service was splendid, I believe it is a bit overpriced for the quality of meal they provide. Worth it. The hubs had the chilaquiles and really liked them. I had the bagel and lox with tomatoes. So good. I also had the coffee cake because that's basically what I came back for, and it did not disappoint. The kids ordered chicken strips and they were legit - think thin sliced chicken breast breaded in panko crumbs and fried to crispy golden perfection. Not sorry I tried a bite. Yummy! My favorite item on the menu is the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with the blueberry jam. These pancakes are light and fluffy while delivering a punch of flavor. I'm not always the biggest fan of blueberries but that jam just really sends this dish over the edge in the flavor department. Plus the lemon pancake flavoring is to bright and citrusy everything just goes together perfectly. It's so good with just the jam and butter you really don't even need the syrup. But I'm a sucker for syrup pancakes so I always splurge. I've also gotten the the veggie scramble and it was tasty. There are definitely a large amount of veggies in there so be prepared. I tend to like a bit more egg in my omelette ratio, but it was still a bomb meal. Overall, this place is one of my go to! Ok I came here about 4-5 years ago and found a hair in my food. I returned on Friday for brunch and guess what... found another hair in my food! Yuck. I am bald and told the server it's clearly not me. Then they offered to make me a new plate but I was already grossed out. I declined so they tried to charge me full price!!! My usual go to is the crispy chicken biscuit, but on sourdough rather than a biscuit. That's what I got last time and the chicken came out still raw in the center. They were good about sending it back, but still a bummer to have happen. Other good stuff: california Benedict, avocado toast with egg, the club sandwich, BLT, and their hashes.
