This restaurant and bar is one of our regular stops, living close by. But it's worth the trip, even if you're not too close. Every item on the menu is delicious and fresh and the prices are super reasonable. Not to forget the $1.50 draft beers!!! It's quaint and delicious. I love the grouper cheeks and ahi tuna. IF YOU'RE LATINO/LATINA DON'T COME HERE! I came here this afternoon with my sister and cousin, we sat at the end of the bar and I showed my ID to get a drink so I can use the bathroom. When I got to the bathroom after I drank my beer I heard the staff say "I don't like those Spanish people at the end of the bar, they spoke Spanish and you know they are talking shit about us". We literally only said a few words in Spanish and none were about any staff members there. I checked and me and my family are the only ones at the end at the bar and the only brown people at that. I came back to my seat and my mom came (she has a heavy English accent) that's when they snatched my sister's drink from her because she didn't show ID. I want to know why they even poured her a beer without asking for it and if they assumed it was mine then they should've gave it to me not her... she also was half way done with it. We spoke to the manager and I showed her my ID and my sisters and they said they couldn't accept it because it was black and white..... that's how NY state IDs are issued... in black and white. At this point the other people at the bar were cursing at us, telling us to go back to Tampa which I assume they said since a lot of Latinos are in that area. Unfortunately they all happened to be white and I hate to say it was racism but at the end of the day that's what it was, RACISM. I should've left once I heard that stupid comment. The hospitality was hostile from the jump and they were unprofessional the entire time and didn't even want to listen to us. Please don't go here if you want to have a good time and speak in your native language. I would like all the money I spent there back into my account. If you're Hispanic do not come here. Or if you speak a language other than English infront of staff members don't come. Service was horrible. We overheard staff talking about some of us who were speaking Spanish and how they "thought" we were speaking badly about them. We bought fries which weren't that good and instead of asking us if we wanted to stay or go they already placed it in a to go bag and rudely placed it on the bar counter. Then, after pouring us each a drink (which we only bought because we had to use the bathroom) they snatched a drink out of my hand without waiting for me to pull out my ID. If they were so serious about valid ID THEY should have asked each of us for one before giving out each drink or before letting us sit at the bar like they do at any other place. But, instead they snatched it out of our hands and told us to go back to Tampa. I'm from NYC and I will never visit this location again. if you're hispanic don't come. Especially not to the bar because they're gonna be rude and racist and tell you to go back to Tampa even though they have no idea where you actually reside. I would train staff to ask everyone for an ID before snatching it out of someone's hand and being rude and disrespectfu/dismissive. It wasn't a serious dilema and I usually never leave reviews but I had to leave one for anyone who is visiting and doesn't want to be disrespected for speaking a language other than English. They deserve 0 stars for the way they treated people who paid for service. read more

We weren't sure if they were open at first. But, I'm glad we went in. Linda the server was very welcoming and efficient. We did eat the fish spread, corn and chowder soup and the fried shrimp and fried scallop entree x it was all very delicious. But I really loved the chowder. It was a large very hardy cup of chowder. Great dining experience at Beach Waves Grill. So we decided to try Beach Waves Grill tonight and it far exceeded our expectations. I love that they have draft beers for $1.50 all the time. For dinner I had the shrimp and scallops dinner with Mexican street corn and Cole slaw. The slaw was great nice and creamy, corn was delicious. Now the shrimp and scallops were cooked just perfectly, not rubbery or under cooked. The server was extremely attentive amd check on us throughout the night. I highly recommend this to all neighbors. I had the black bean burger and asked if it contained egg or dairy products as I have allergies. They went to the back and told me it did not, I ate it. Next time I came back, I asked again and this time got told it contains eggs. My allergies are internal, so I didn't have a reaction externally that could have alerted me, but if someone had a severe allergy, it would have been a way more serious situation. I ordered dinner for two online. Picked it up didn't realize till I got home that I has three dinners. The manager was fair and credited my card for the xtra dinner. My husband had the grouper with broccoli and Cesar salad. He said it was cooked perfectly. Beach Waves is clearly the BEST place we have been to on IRB. The oysters and the mussels were delicious. The grouper was fresh and perfectly prepared. The mahi mahi tacos were excellent. The lobster macaroni and cheese is a MUST. It's a causal relaxed setting that is very comfortable and a great place to watch sunsets. The service was absolutely the best. Jen and Heather were great. Very personable, attentive and so much fun to speak with. My family are now regulars and we are spreading the word to our friends. We will be back. read more
