a crowd of people at a party

The inside is nice & spacious! There is enough room to move around in and a lot of tables to sit in for hookah, to eat, and/or to relax in. The dance floor was lit with aesthetically pleasing visuals playing on the big screen. Beware of the bathrooms! It's disgusting! The music was okay. It could be just the DJ playing the night I went but I felt like the genre was everywhere and random. I do like a wide range of music but felt it was awkward going from a sing-a-long, in-your-feelings, slow song transitioned to a get-on-the-floor-and-twerk, fast-paced song. I still had fun dancing and singing with my friends but there were some moments we just looked at each other like... what's going on? Why did the music transition like that The service was surprisingly on point. Most clubs and bars are slow because of the crowd and chaos which I'm usually patient with, but our server was good at checking in on us and didn't really have us wait which I greatly appreciate. But then the food was pretty mid. I heard the wings are really good here but I was craving a burger and ordered just that. It was dry and hard to swallow and didn't really look all that great. Overall, it's not a bad club. Especially since there's no entree fee, it's a really decent club to go to. I've been to better, but I've definitely been to a lot worse.

I cannot believe the quality of food that was coming out of this place. You would walk in and never expect the menu they had available! This is noted as a bar & grill but it is very much hookah lounge & nightclub feels, and the DJ was good. First, our server Kendal was an absolute sweetheart and provided a pleasant experience. She suggested a great drink based on my preferences, I ordered two of them. Her recommendations were awesome, I almost regret not getting the parmesan cilantro lamb chops but the Chef Wimbo's Island was more than enough and delicious. This plate had mashed potatoes and on top was a fried lobster tail, white wine sautéed shrimp and salmon stuffed with crabmeat covered in a Gouda cream sauce. Pricey, yes, worth it, absolutely. I would definitely visit here again on my next trip.

Originally came here for an event & ended up staying until later into the night. To be located at the oceanfront, I must say it is semi-spacious. Long bar in the middle. Sometimes it's hard to get a bartender or waitress, but they are all super sweet! Drinks were good, loved the mai tai. All the way to the back is the VIP sections. They are actually well kept & pretty comfy though the tables could be smaller. I like that there's like a small open area for like a mini dance floor. The club dance floor is a little small as well, but it gets the job done. Great music (hip hop, R&B, rap). Fun lighting. Knocking down to 3.5 stars because security/entryway must be fixed. There's so much confusion and so many people standing there that there's a lot of uncertainty. There needs to be one person who stays there and does that one job. Also, it took over 30 minutes for my friend to receive her wings and fries to include other patrons. Aside from that, I would visit again.

My boyfriend and I decided to do a stay-cation and spend the weekend in Virginia Beach. We stopped here for lunch. I just so happened to be happy hour. The drinks (top shelf liquor) were half off and very good! The service was great too. We got our food pretty fast and it was hot and also tasted great. We ordered lemon pepper wings and fries, and also the lamb chop meal with string beans and Mac and cheese! They were both great! It was pretty quiet at first then the dj came and it got a little loud but it was still pretty chill during the time we went. We'd definitely go back during happy hour

Horrible place. The security guy was rude. Must not like mixed race couples. I'm white and my wife is a woman of color. He's black.

It's a beautiful place. Inviting staff and upscale vibe. Every single visit, the food was absolutely delicious. Top tier flavors and ample portions. Sadly, last night I don't believe the heat was working. It was a tad uncomfy and everyone kept their coats on the entire time. I believe we all would've stayed longer if it was wasn't so cold. I assume it was a fluke, but I've never been there during the winter. Overall, I will always recommend this place because it's a great atmosphere and yummy food. You really can't ask for more but guess what...it's 1 block from the oceanfront & has a sexy outdoor patio as well so it's perfect for warmer seasons. Check them out and let me know what you think!

Not sure if the lounge did this or the city, but when we scanned to pay and park, it only gave us the option to park for 8 hours for $40 ??? We were def confused on that one, but went on with it since we were running late for the event. The atmosphere was cool and a good vibe. There was a live band playing and they sounded really good 10/10. The waitress was nice and attentive checking on us the whole night which I always appreciate. Our paint and sip tickets included a drink. The two options we were given was a margarita or a slushee. I'd give both a 7/10, they had good flavor and were cold and refreshing, but little to no alcohol in either and no buzz at all. We didn't order anything else after trying those two drinks. We also didn't order any food because the other paint and sip participants were saying the food they all ordered wasn't that good/worth the price. I wouldn't mind returning on another live band night, so I will probably be back just for that. My overall rate of experience : 7/10

I didn't frequent Peabody's since I have never been a person who loves dancing or DJs. Also, I was outside of Peabody's target demographic of 18-24 year-olds. This was during my "bitter chick rock" phase that still rears its head now and then, and one of my favorite bitter chick bands was L7! I saw their show at Peabody's on April 15, 1997. It was a great venue for this raw, bitter, loud band with a house packed and standing room only of fans trying their best to make a mosh pit. I guess Hole was my second favorite bitter chick band. Back to the L7 show. Classified as grunge, punk, and metal, I think L7 is more chick punk. Their guitarist was unavailable this night, and they replaced her with a local Va Beach chick guitarist who did a great job. The locals recognized her, I didn't. Smoking was allowed inside, and this audience was pretty aggressive for the times, with a lot of college aged guys wearing backwards baseball caps. That's fine, until the guys use their ballcaps as weapons to poke me in the forehead and face to try to keep me out of their mosh pit making range. The goal of the audience was to get to stage front. The audience even resorted to using cigarette lighters to burn each others clothes. Who does this? This show was during "The Beauty Process" tour and the setlist was great with songs from previous CDs including "L7" and other previous music. Par for the course, during "Cat-O-Nine Tails," a guy in leather bondage was brought on stage and then whipped with a whip by Donita, the lead singer. I'm confident this was just a show, and the poor guy wasn't hurt. "The Masses are Asses" is another L7 tune I like. Why no fifth star? The bouncers were interesting. They waited for patrons to make their way to the stage and for the most part, escorted the patron to the door - kicking nearly each one out. The crowd was "elbow to elbow" making it clear it was difficult to just take an overly rowdy and rough patron from the center of the crowd to kick them out. Still, the bouncers were sophomoric, and should have managed the crowd better. I'm happy to have seen L7, I'm happy my party were hurt, and I'm happy Peabody's provided a sizeable venue for an alternative show in the late 90s!

As Kings Hookah & Lounge sits in a shopping plaza, there is ample parking. Once parked, we headed on in. It was Friday Night 9:45 pm and the Cover was $20/males and $15/females. Cover!!!! Yeah, I forgot what it was to pay a cover. Ha. Once inside, we chose a table. The space is very spacious and has the usual hookah lounge decor and setup. There was about 9 people inside but the DJ was rockinnnnnnnnnn. I'm talking hit after hit and I was so excited that the DJ understood how to mix, blend, and play reggae. The service was... let me say this, for there to have been 13 people by 11am, service was below standard as it was super slow and bland. As the menu looked amazing online I was excited to eat. I decided on the Beef Burger and baby listen... it was trash. One - The bun was HARD and STALE. Two - The burger was of a lower quality to the point that the chargrill flavor that I love didn't even taste right. However, the fries were bombbbbbbbb. Extra crispy. Perfect saltiness and pretty golden color. Overall, it was... (insert a word here that represents my aggravation). Nonetheless, if you just wanna kick it, hear a BOMB DJ, and blow Hookah... Pull up to Kings Hookah & Lounge. Just eat before you go.
