The thing I like about Beans & Brews is that each location is pretty consistent in menu, atmosphere and overall experience. I know what I'm getting in to. It's neat and tidy, which can be appealing to folks who appreciate that vibe. But it does lack the unique character of a locally owned business. At the Hour When the Day Learns Its Own Name I stepped into morning before morning knew itself, 5:30 and still wrapped in night-- cold enough to make breath visible, quiet enough that footsteps felt like speech. A few cars stirred, tentative, as if the city were yawning awake alongside me. The walk carried me cleanly, purposefully, to the midpoint I often aim for-- Beans and Brew, warm light in a dark world. Inside, layers came off like armor, and coffee was ordered from a young barista whose presence bent gently against expectation. Long, pointed nails flashed as he worked, a hint of makeup, clothes chosen with intention, and a voice carefully shaped-- a feminine-affected cadence, practiced or protective, guarded, perhaps, against the weight of faces older than his own. The coffee was excellent--no surprise there. I let it cool while thinking nothing urgent, then dressed again for the cold road home. As I left, I offered what felt right and simple: "My young friend, have a GREAT day!" He wished me the same, and meant it. The miles home gave me time to wonder-- about age, and caution, and how often we misread one another in passing. The sky had lightened by then. I walked on, warmed by coffee and thought, grateful, as always, for the morning. read more

I'm rating only based on drive through, since COVID has ruined our chances of hanging out at a coffee shop or restaurant for the rest of our foreseeable future. I come to this location when I want a drink before work, since it's really close by. Even with a line, Beans is pretty quick! In the last month, I've been to this location a few times. My order has been right all but one time, when they gave me (and charged me for) 16oz instead of 12oz like I ordered. It wasn't a big enough deal for me to make a stink about it. I pay using their app in order to collect points. I recently submitted an app update request to save a card/payment option for quick reloading. Typing my card in every week is not my favorite. Good news: I noticed this morning there was a sign saying they have recently stopped asking for signatures after you pay with a card! I know it's a petty thing, but this is something they've had for years and has been unnecessary and annoying in my opinion. (Easily avoided by using the app instead, but still). So, big bonus points to B&B for not requiring a signature anymore, especially because who knows whose hands were holding those pens, right Corona? One thing I love about Beans is that my drink seems to always be super hot, and I love that. I feel like the giant green coffee chain always gives me lukewarm drinks that I have to reheat when I get home, so I appreciate that extra few seconds of steaming. I've been coming here instead recently due to locale, but also slightly better prices ($4.06 vs 4.28 for same size & drink) and to support local businesses. A note about the tiny print on their menu: you can get an "extra small" hot drink of 12oz, if you're like me and 16oz is too much for you. The folks here are generally pretty nice most days, my drinks have always been good, and drive through has always been speedy. I'll keep coming. read more

The review is to highlight that a personality makes a difference during Covid times. Went to grab my favorite drink in the biggest size anyone could get ;) FROZEN MOCHA with a SHOT of ESPRESSO in a 32 oz cup! The drink is the best and something that you should try at least once. We also got crafted sodas. The service was fast in the drive through. Everything was done perfectly and we got the NICEST person ELI! We can't wait to go back to that location! I am really disappointed in this Beans and Brew. I feel like you should only ever get an iced beverage from them because they are literally incapable of making a hot beverage. I have tried them multiple times because I think that their London Fog recipe is one of the best. Even if you ask them to make it as hot as the law will legally allow you will end up with tepid bathwater.. NO matter what I do it's just warm. And before you say, it's just because I like it hotter than most people, it's not that. I have had my carmates test it too and they all agree. Maybe its a drive thru thing and you are trying to hurry? It is such a shame too because I really want to like you. Please.. make it hot, not everyone can reheat when they get to the office (2 minutes away). read more

Ok I never leave reviews but I am shook after my visit at this location I just had. I get an iced latte with oat-milk and some chai flavoring added EVERY day at the other draper location and the cost is always around $6.50 (still overpriced but I get prices have raised the past couple years) I just went to this location a couple miles away and was charged $9.42 for the same drink I get every day. I asked them at the checkout why it was so expensive and explained I get the same drink every day and it has NEVER been $10 for a medium sized coffee literally anywhere I've ever been. The girl was like "yeah that's just how we ring it up here sorry" and then handed my card back after charging me $10... like what. That is insane. I waited 15 min for it or I would have never paid that amount. Super disappointed they wouldn't listen to me and still charged me 10 DOLLARS for one coffee. read more

Over the last few months, I think I've found myself at most of the Beans & Brews in the south end of the valley. They've sorta become my go-to work space away from home, as they're super chill with me (remember that phrase -- super chill) planting the laptop down, grabbing a drink, and plunking away. Or sometimes I take meeting there, and we double up the beverages. This location was a little tricky for me. It's not their fault that it's a little hard to find; this while development on the north side of 12300 are a real pain to access. If you access at 300 East, you have to drive way up to the roundabout. If you take 123rd and access at the entrance (200 East?) it's a pain from the eastbound lane. And they've jammed all the parking in odd directions with little lanes and cross streets. Don't blame them, though; that's some engineer somewhere getting too creative. Once you're in, expect a little different layout than you're used to, at least in their other locations. You're greeted by the counter, and then the seating sort of wraps around in a slight counter clockwise direction. There are a couple of booths, a few tables, and a large high bar that faces the view outside. The booths looked most comfortable, but today they were both occupied the whole time I was there, so we chose a seat near the entrance. If you read my last review of the Cottonwood Heights space, what I'm about to say is either hilarious or infuriating. Hilarious if you're Joe Public, maybe a little infuriating if you're Beans & Brews. Whereas that location was too hot (broken A/C?) this spot was ice cold. Mind you, I'm not complaining or hoping that they take action necessarily, but if you happen to choose a seat under where the massive A/C ducts are, it's breezy enough to move your hair, and that air is definitely cold. Unfortunately, the only 2-person tables appropriate for a meeting were both underneath the brisk winds of the venting and it got pretty cold. I promise I'm not the Goldilocks of coffee shops, I just needed to find a different seat. The cool temp there was actually really refreshing, just not in the direct line of fire... er.. wind. The young fellas on staff here were super friendly. It's a nice space, and even though the layout was a little small and left me out in the cold (pun very much intended) it worked out well and it's a nice spot for me when I need to be a laptop warrior in Draper. read more

Stopped by this coffee shop today with my sis. Ordered the caramel cielo latte and my sister ordered a hot tea. I got my drink first minus a coffee sleeve around the cup... looked around and didn't see any on the counter, my sisters tea came out next with a sleeve on the cup. I asked the gentlemen if I could also get one for my drink. He explained that they were running out of sleeves and had "like 5 left" and could only give them to people who got "really hot" drinks. I don't really understand this thought process and usually my lattes ARE made "really hot" ;) Not a huge deal but weird that you won't give a paying customer a sleeve, regardless of how many you have left... read more

I was visitng some family from Arizona, and was looking for a coffee shop, the freeway exit advertised a Starbucks, I figured it was the best we could do in Utah. After driving in every shoping center lot and never finding the Starbucks (apparently it was a couple more miles up the road, so I don't know why they would advertise it on the freeway exit) we found Beans & Brews on our GPS and I'm glad we did, my sister only got a drip coffee and I got an Americano. It wasn't the best I have ever had but I liked that they charged by shot and not drink size, so I could make the drink as strong as I want. And the place was well set up, we got our orders to go but the decor was nice, people were friendly and I would probably make this a spot if I lived in the area. read more

Expensive enough that you'd think this was boutique, but it's still no better than Starbucks. It does have a nice setting inside, but that's where the joy ends. Drinks are about 30% higher than average, and not great. It doesn't help that the staff seems to know and care nothing about the art of espresso. I don't *think* I'm a snob, but I know what I like and I ask for it. Even though nobody makes them by default, most joints at least know that a traditional americano is 1:1, so why act so confused and annoyed when I ask for it in those proportions? This is probably one of my favorite coffee spots in Draper. The staff is always friendly and greets you with a smile. There is usually plenty of seating and the space is well kept. Great place to grab a cup of coffee or a dipped shortbread cookie (if it's a cheat day!). read more

Hold the Wi-Fi and give me a good cup of coffee. I like my coffee and I take it seriously. If you like yours blended, mocha'd, or any other version of light on the coffee, then this place will work out great for you. If you drink something that requires you actually taste the espresso, like an Americano, then keep on driving. Their espresso is bitter and acidic. So much that you won't taste anything but. I've given it a few chances because I didn't have any luck with Rovico's either but i'm going to keep looking. This is a waste of money. read more

Show up there's one customer parked in the handicapped parking with no tag, she's leaning on the counter with no shoes on chatting away with the employees who are clearly friends. I almost walked out due to the bare feet. My order was done incorrectly I'm sure due to the hanging out at the counter. I made a courtesy phone call to those employees after I left and although the manager offered to have me come back and fix the drink, she defended her barefoot friend hanging out. I have been going to this Beans and Brews since Aug. 2011 and I love them!! They have the cutest people working there and every one of their employees remembers what I order. Really! Oh and they get the order right, every time! I used to go to Starbucks up the road but they never get the order right. I like the atmosphere and feel they are friendlier.
