PRO-TIP: 1 hour parking validation with any purchase at Beard Papa's! Also, shout out to the staff. I got a free tote bag even though my purchase didn't reach the threshold. That was super nice of them. There's some seating inside, but it was a very chill atmosphere right before closing. Despite this, the staff stuff the cream puffs right then and there so they don't get soggy. I purchased the entire Mashle collaboration set so I can get the acrylic stand and I'm a sucker for collaborations (despite not ever watching the anime series lol). It's a set of 4 different cream puffs based on the characters (2 hard shell chocolate cover ones with different fillings, 2 with different "sprinkle" fruit toppings that taste a bit strawberry-like, and 2 regular cream puffs). Overall pretty good, the chocolate cover ones did get pretty "hard" with the shell and crumble making it explode everywhere. Meaning they do stuff the cream puffs with as much sweet cream as possible! Sucks that there aren't as many Beard Papa's anymore, but it's always a treat to go when I can.

Wow, has this spot been hiding in downtown LA all this time?! I've lived here for years and only just discovered it--huge regret, because the crème brûlée is straight-up heaven. Creamy, velvety custard puff with that perfect crackly caramel top... I'm seriously considering risking full-on diabetes just to keep coming back for more. That's really all there is to say, it's pure bliss! I'll be showing up to every family gathering from now on with these bad boys in hand! 10/10

Located in the Little Tokyo Marketplace near DTLA, this instance of Beard Papa serves up the same fresh cream puffs that we've enjoyed at their Cerritos location. There are two different sizes, with the mini ones coming in a pack of 6 to share. All are freshly pumped with cream when you order them, and the filling tastes more like custard than fresh whipped cream. The order of six was perfect for the three of us, and we enjoyed it at one of their tables, located just outside their shop.

Woohoo! Here for the Yelp event! Two puffs!

Everytime I've been here the table has been clean and I am Always greeted. Their puffs are fresh and so delicious! If I could I would get one everyday lol! The girls who work here are always so nice.

BELLA the employee here at the front with the dark black lips is so incredibly rude. She rolls her eyes at every question I asked and glared at me when I asked for caramel sauce on the side. I love the puffs here but her service makes me want to never give my money to this location again.

This branch wasn't as packed as the other Beard Papa's. They've got some tables and chairs, which is nice. I really appreciated that they were cool about my request for less sugar in my boba.

My nephew introduced me to the Beard Papa's years ago when he work at one of the store in Orange County. We were in Little Tokyo and I was craving for something sweet. Surprisingly, I saw this place and I had to buy some to try if they are still good as I remember. I ordered half of dozen to go because we had to do some errands. The place is not too posh, but the service was fast and got my order in within couple minutes. I didn't try it out until I got home about couple hours later. Usually, bakery items you want to eat it fresh as soon as possible. First bite into the cream puff it was not soft like many other standard place but it has a little crunch to it. The powder sugar added that sweetness and then came the tasty creamy vanilla custard makes it so perfect. Yummy!!!! This place makes very tasty puff even better than the one that my nephew worked at before. I do recommend displace. Give them a try you won't be disappointed.

I would always see Beard Papa in Irvine whenever I went to get bubble tea from Orobae or was shopping at Mitsuwa or Daiso. (Never stopped by to take a look though.) When my friend and I were spending time in Little Tokyo before KCON, she spotted this one inside the same mall as Daiso and the Little Tokyo Market. She was surprised I have never tried it before and said we definitely needed to change that. This is on the first floor of the mall near the K-pop cafe. The mall has a structure but you can also find street parking. (Which my friend and I did - we chose a spot on the street that was between the places we wanted to walk to.) When we went in, it wasn't busy and they had some of their items but not the full assortment. When we asked about certain types of cream puffs, they apologized and explained that anything they had out at the moment was all they had. (Save for the original cream puff.) They didn't have chocolate or the honey flavors, which was a little disappointing. My friend thinks the chain has been trying to avoid throwing out excess food at the end of the day, but I was surprised two core flavors weren't available for purchase. I did go with the green tea one and my friend settled on an original. They filled the two puffs up on the spot and dusted the original with powdered sugar before packing them up for us. Prices weren't too bad, maybe a little higher because we were in LA? The green tea had a subtle green tea flavor and the pastry was soft and flaky. Cream was not overly sweet and they were generous with the amount they placed inside the puff. My friend liked hers and enjoyed it after KCON. I would consider stopping by the one closer to home if I wanted to try one of their other varieties. As for this location, it was not bad. Staff were polite but I think some of the workers were maybe starting to fade by the time we came in.

We were exploring around Little Tokyo and stumbled on Beard Papa's and figured a pastry would be good to try. There were quite a few good looking/sounding options on the menu. The staff was friendly enough when we ordered, but we were underwhelmed by the quality of the pastry, and relieved that we hadn't ordered more. We got the cookie puff with hopes that it would be good, but it was rather dry and the flavors were bland. The creme was the best part, but it wasn't balanced with the taste of the dried out pastry. It may have been an older batch, since we were there in the afternoon, but we hope that the quality is better at any other given time.

We visited this location just before closing so they only had original left. I usually love beard papa's but the cream puffs we got were pretty dry, definitely not up to par. Also this location doesn't honor the 10% off yelp check in offer.

10/10 customer services was amazing really nice& kind it was my first time & good options I loved it definitely coming again!

Based on my memories, this LA location keeps it consistent with a similar taste and texture as the NY location. 3.5/5 Chocolate Chip Walnut: This cookie was tall and slightly undercooked in the middle. The middle was a bit on the squishy side, and crunchy on the outside. Due to the undercooked quality, it's not a cookie I'd get regularly, though I am a big chocolate chip cookie fan. 5/5 Rocky Road: This was delicious. I'm not usually a marshmallow fan, but the addition of this ingredient formed a nice chewy consistency that I expect from a cookie. Chocolatey tidbits were well melted into the cookie texture and produced some fudgey notes. The cookie sizes are large and potentially shareable, and feel like an every once in awhile treat.

I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid.
