Very disappointed in this place. Had breakfast with a friend there after walking in memorial park. I ordered the eggs Benedict breakfast and cashier over charged, I brought it to her attention, so she re rung it up and still over charged.... I told her again it didn't add up, she didn't seem to care, I paid anyway. Got our food and was very disappointed, my eggs were fried scrambled instead of over easy, I didn't dare complain, since they had a didn't care attitude. Great location in Memorial Park. Outdoor tables have nice views of the Memorial Park golf course. The natural beauty of Memorial Park makes you forget that you are in the middle of Houston. The fare at Becks Prime is among the best casual dining establishments. Everything from a hot dog to a full steak is first rate. I think they have the best burgers in town. Add a side of sweet potato fries and you are set. For salad lovers, definitely try the Kirby salad. I haven't been disappointed with anything on the menu. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The menu includes breakfast, although the breakfast menu is not as extensive as the lunch/dinner menu. The price is higher than fast food places, but this is not fast food. I used to work at this Beck's location, so I can vouch for their cleanliness and quality ingredients from the other side of the counter. This is the type of fast food burger place that makes burgers right: top quality ingredients for everything they do. That's why the price are a little higher than you'd generally expect for a burger. Their black bean veggie burgers really are phenomenal, but I used to eat meat, and for omnivores, the regular burgers are top quality. Their fries are great - they salt and season them, so you generally don't need to salt them. Their shakes and malts are scandalous. Enjoy them, but I wouldn't recommend checking out the Nutrition Facts posted on the wall for those puppies. It'll just depress you ;) They have egg burritos, etc. in the morning, and they also serve beer and wine! Also, there's an "off the menu" menu with a lot of more sit-down dinner like options: steak, chicken stuff baked potatoes and the like, if you want a really, really substantial meal. 3 cheers for Beck's! read more

I have been on a huge streak of eating at over rated places lately. I came here after the Golf UYE and I was very disappointed. The burger was OK, the bun was good, the bacon was crispy. This would have been a 4 star review but their fries were TERRIBLE. I ate 2 before discarding the whole thing. It tasted like a raw potato covered in oil. Also the service was slow and the parking sucks since it's right next to the golf course. I doubt I will eat here again, maybe for a drink while hitting gold balls but nothing else. read more

What a freakin' disappointment. I was hot, sweaty, hungover, and insanely hungry after hitting a few balls at the driving range at Memorial Park and thought that Becks would be my perfect cure. WRONG, TRY AGAIN. I ordered the original hot-dog burger (yeah, I know) thinking it would be some awesome cross-breed invention between the classic hot dog and a burger...instead, I got 3 weenies halved in between the burger buns with some mustard, pickles, and onions. SERIOUSLY!? Did I just pay $6 for this P.O.S?!?! I would've gone all HULK on them but I was pretty tired and just surrendered. The only saving grace this place has is their freshly made, sugar-free lemonade, which I always get when I'm at the range. Get the jumbo size and skip the meal. read more

As far as quality goes, this place is strictly a five, but they price themselves out of a star! We've got a group of roughly 15-20 old codgers (mostly retired) who meet here once a month, ordering everything from salads to grilled chicken to burgers, and all of us love the food. My favorite is the Bill's Burger (minus the cheese), a huge mouthful of meat, grilled onions, jalapenos, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mustard--my only complaint is that they only give me three paper napkins, when I need three bath towels to sop up the juice that flows off this burger! I still think it's one of the best in town. Service is quick, with both an inside and an outside line for ordering, and orders usually being delivered within 7-8 minutes. This is a place that is often overlooked for breakfast, don't do it! The breakfast burritos here are good and the coffee is decent but what is great is that on a sunny Sunday morning it is really great to eat breakfast and look out on the green golf course. Also, they do not frown upon bringing your pets. Our breakfast group frequents this joint on sunny Sundays especially when we have our pooches. And they have highchairs for the kids which is a plus. There is a new playground over by the church ac cross the street that we usually hit before going home. You can't beat the location. I put four stars instead of five because the breakfast food is not the best. Also used to go here for lunch, the veggie burgers with fries are great and the shakes are good too. If you want a lighter version, you can get the kids' size. Nothing like going to lunch with a bunch of guys and watching them drink shakes from tiny cups... priceless. read more

I went to this place after 3 hours of golf. I was starving by the time I reached the counter. They have a wide menu and I was shocked to see whole wheat bun on the menu. I wanted to order breakfast (poached eggs) but all they had was scrambled eggs so I ended up ordering veggie burger (bean burger with pickles, whole wheat bread and mustard) because that looked like a healthier option as compared to the other things on the menu. Just out of curiosity I came home and went to their website to check the NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION. Their innocent veggie burger has 402 calories and 7 grams of fat and shocking of 1046 mg of soudium ! 1046 mg of sodium??? that my friend , is not a typo .. that's insane and its supposedly "healthier" Well what do you expect? It's a fast food chain after all. 2 stars for the location. They have nice outdoor seating which look out onto the golf course (amazing view) Maybe you can bring your own food and just order water here and enjoy the great outdoor seating. read more

You know... I like Becks. They serve meat, potatoes, and beer. What's not to love about that? I went to this location Saturday with my family, and it was a great experience. The location is absolutely great. It overlooks the golf course and has plenty of outdoor seating. Inside, you'll find a big screen t.v. playing (insert game here) or the news depending on what time of day you come. The counter staff was friendly and patient with my fam who had never been to this location either. The 1 star dock is for the size of our potato. All 3 of us ordered the stuffed chicken baked potato, and it came out extremely small. Especially for almost $9 a piece. I was a little saddened by the size vs value, but oh well. I'm a kid at heart, and they had little mini keg shaped beers so I was content for a bit. Overall it's a great place to grab a bite if you're already in the park. read more

Last week I met up with my Dad, my sister, and my friend for lunch at Beck's Prime in Memorial Park. This counter service spot is a tad more expensive than other burger joints (but let's be honest I still see the world through New York City Goggles, so it seemed normal to me), but the quality of food totally justifies the price. I decided to stray from my typical burger of the bacon cheddar variety, and boy was I glad that I did. My Blue Cheeseburger was absolutely perfect. Not only did they cook it perfectly to my medium rare order, but the quality of it was downright amazing. Not a greasy spoon burger, the Beck's burger takes it a step up in terms of fresh, prime (ha, get it? "prime"?...sorry) ingredients. Also, the combination of blue cheese, mayo, and veggie toppings was so simple, yet so delectable. I seriously want to marry this burger. Is that legal yet? And the fries! Phenomenal! I know it doesn't take a lot for me to love a fry, but it does take a lot for me to be impressed by a fry, and these fries delivered. They were perfectly cooked (not soggy, but not too crunchy), and beautifully seasoned. They were no-ketchup-needed fries. Oh, and of course we had to share a Chocolate Shake! Now I'm a bit of a milkshake snob, having grown accustomed to NYC's Shake Shack, but this shake was pretty solid. Or liquid. And the bad joke award goes to....! Anyway, the milkshake tasted like a more legitimate Wendy's Frosty. Which, I mean, who doesn't love a Wendy's Frosty, let alone a more legitimate one? It was smooth, thick, and super indulgent. So, you know that Beck's Prime (BP) sign you run by every time you're running the Memorial Loop? I checked it out for you. In short, keep running unless you really have a burger fix. So, before you even try the food, a few things: careful that you don't hit any runners when you enter the parking lot. Second, this Beck's Prime is connected to the golf shop and other golf-related areas. To get to the BP, go through the main entrance, and the BP is in the back on the right side. I went to BP for a business lunch on a Wednesday. Parking was ample. The sun was shining, which made eating outside a viable option. And golf apparel was on sale outside while I waited for my order. Ordering is quite simple. The menu is posted above the registers. You order, and then they give you a flashing buzzer to tell you when your order is ready. Drinks are behind the counter, so just approach if you need a refill. I ordered the California Burger, which had Swiss cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, and the bun was toasted to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger (just kidding), and an order of fries. Personally, I don't like it when the burger joint doesn't already include fries with the burger order. You might say that some people don't want fries, so it's better this way. Well, THAT's what your friend is for. It's a universal principle just like gravity--friends will always want your leftover fries. But, at BP, maybe it's good that they don't make you get fries with their burgers because they weren't that good. The California burger was pretty good though. It was big, juicy, and the bun was sweet. It seems as though BP is always high among Houstonians' lists of best burger in town according to the Houston Press. Went for lunch on the patio the other day. Bigger than any other Beck's Prime I have frequented. Friendly staff. Excellent food (as expected of any Beck's). We had burgers and split a large order of fries. BTW The large order of fries is big enough for 5 adults to share! I have never been disappointed by the burgers at Beck's and have been going since elementary school. Sure, I agree they are more expensive than fast food joints, but the quality is worth the extra cost! I highly recommend their shakes but in the smallest (dessert) portion since they are very very rich. read more

I was meeting a few friends for dinner and evening walk at the park. This location is by the memorial golf course and Memorial park. Finding parking after 5pm is a nightmare. The restaurant was clean and well kept. I got a spicy wonton salad which had roasted almonds, cucumber, cilantro, julienne veggies, Sriracha wontons, mandarin orange sections, sesame dressing. All the veggies was sad, wilted, and not fresh at all. I was very disappointed. I would not recommend it. If you ask for water it taste like old ice. Either the ice machine is slimy or the water filter needs a change. I also got lemonade which was not very good. It tasted like old nasty ice with lemon. I will never get a salad here ever again. My friends got a B.P BLT burger with sweet potato fries and chicken stuffed potato. They both liked their meal. They were satisfied. read more

We ended up here on a Sunday night for dinner. We shared a bacon cheese burger add guacamole.... And I am sorry I agreed to share.... It was delicious and wish I could have had the entire burger to myself. You can specify how you want your burger cooked which we forgot to do, however the burger was still perfectly cooked. I'll start with the positives of this establishment. 1. It's convenient. It's right along the jogging trail on the golf course at Memorial Park so you can burn a few hundred calories and then consume triple the amount after for dinner. 2. Clean, both in ingredients and the restaurant itself. It takes a long time to get your food. They don't seem to have a very efficient process in place and the fries were cold by the time I got them. The food is OK, but not worth the price. A combo meal costs more than $10. I know you're paying for "higher quality" meat, but I'd rather just get some take out from a dine-in restaurant than pay twice as much for fast food. I love the view that goes with eating a burger at this Beck's Prime location. You've got plenty of space to sit, eat, relax and look onto the golf course. My personal faves? The Blue Cheeseburger is delicious--the blue cheese kicks up the beef perfectly. The Kirby Salad with seared ahi tuna is my top salad pick (great balance of textures, sweet and savory flavors). This is the worst Becks prime in the city. I was calling an order and I was on hold for 5 min before I finally called back. I called back and it rang and rang. I finally got to the restaurant before they answered. Just as a test I thought I'd call while the ONLY person in line was finishing paying. The phone rang and rang. There were 7 people behind the bar... one person slowly was just wiping down trays not answering the phone. 2 people were crowded around the one register not answering the phone while 3 others just argued that someone should get the phone! Last night we hosted a 15th birthday party in the private room at Beck's Memorial Park. I want to give a huge shout out to the entire team working last night. Everyone was friendly and professional. The food was great. I really want to commend Brian, who was in charge and worked all night to make sure everything was perfect. He checked in on our party consistently and helped us with everything from room set up, to ordering suggestions and food service, as well as clean up. Thank you for making the party so enjoyable. Had a California Burger, cuz avocado on a burger always gets my mouth watering. I hadn't heard anything about this place so I had no expectations going in, but the burger was half decent, not my favorite, but not a total disappointment either. Sadly, the same could not be said for the fries. Utter and complete waste of money, worst fries I have ever eaten, just straight up plain bad. So if you do get the urge to come here and chow down with all the golfers, save your money and just get a burger, skip the fries please! For your own good! read more

I absolutely love Beck's Prime...I'm not a big red meat eater, but their burgers are definitely an exception for me. Most recently, I was at Beck's Prime for a party, so I'll review based on that. Obviously the food was good; they served burgers, chicken, and hot dogs with all the usual sides and condiments. They prepare the burgers while you wait, so food is fresh and prepared to your liking. The staff was very friendly and personable to all of the guests. They were also on top of keeping the space clean and orderly while the party was going on. The space is great for a smaller party and can take any hits that rough and tumble 13 year old boys might give it. I always have a great time at this Beck's Prime-this was the second time that I've been there for a party and it was just as good as I expected. read more

Oh Becks! I love you, but you do me so wrong sometimes. This is one of my favorite places to grab a burger, chicken sandwich or salad, whatever my mood. They never fail on the chicken sandwich and salads. My burger is about 50/50. I've been going to this location for over 14 yrs. My latest visit on Sunday was an epic fail. To be honest, it was a nice evening and they were busy so I am grading on a curve. When I asked the status of my burger (ordered over the phone 30 mins earlier), the answer was "I dont know." I actually had to point to the manager and tell her to go ask him. A few minutes later I had my bacon cheddar cheeseburger with mayo. I get home and it's not cheddar but American. I strongly suspect they know the difference. The mayo was on the side. This wasn't a huge deal, but it's always been on there previously. I was just thankful the bacon was there since that doesn't make it a fair 10-20% of the time. If I was eating there, it wouldn't be an issue, but, when I get home, it's not worth going back to have it fixed. I always just ask that they do better and have some quality control. Don't get me wrong, I love this place and will keep going back, but really want them to fulfill the order I place the first time. I'll probably be back this Sunday. read more

I love Becks prime! I always get the same thing and it's the ahi tuna sandwich. I think everything that is on it all goes really well together. I think they could add a couple more pieces of tuna on there though. I always am greeted with a smile and friendly welcome when I'm there.
