With all of the changes I've gone through since the start of the pandemic (for example: cancer treatment), with everything I have coming up, I knew this was the right time to get help making my space calm and enjoyable. Alexa is so patient, while also being gently encouraging, keeping me on track. She stays fully engaged and is the living definition of "holding emotional space" for me whenever the tough feelings come up. Also, she has tons of ideas for functionality even with my limited space and furniture situation and she knows how to make things look good. She gives me homework (which was what I had asked for), so I can continue to sift through some things on my own time. Years ago I had tried a couple sessions working with another home organizer and I had an experience which, though not awful, was not at all effective and it left me to think I was kind of beyond help in this department. We've had 2 sessions so far. The systems she has helped me set up, starting with our first session 2.5 months ago, have been easy to stick to, and I am strengthening the muscle that allows me to shed whatever I need to and reconsider before bringing something home that I might really not need or want. They were also flexible with a delay and change of address that we were moving to in UK and made that one less thing to worry about as they organised storage for us. We had a confirmed move scheduled with a 3-hour minimum and fully understood we would be paying the hourly rate beyond that. Everything was already packed -- the job was simply to wrap furniture and load the truck. The movers arrived, looked around briefly, and immediately announced the job was "too much" and couldn't be completed in three hours. That was confusing, because we had already agreed to pay for additional time if needed. Instead of getting started, they hesitated and seemed unwilling to work from the moment they arrived. When I calmly pushed back and said we understood the timing and just wanted to begin loading, the crew stepped away for what turned into a 20+ minute smoke break, during which they called their boss to complain rather than starting the move. During this time, I personally spoke with the owner twice trying to understand the issue. Rather than addressing the situation professionally, I was told I "needed to be nicer." For context: I never raised my voice, cursed, or behaved disrespectfully -- I simply disagreed with their assessment and expected movers who showed up for a scheduled job to start working. After more than 20 minutes of inactivity, the movers closed up their truck and left without another word. I called the owner again to ask what had just happened and received more explanations instead of accountability. What makes this even more disappointing is that Tim had been persistently pursuing my business when I was originally planning to hire another company. Because our move timeline accelerated, I gave them the opportunity -- and regret that decision completely. If you need movers who arrive ready to work and honor scheduled commitments, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Then they never actually showed up because "we didn't confirm that morning", despite having discussed the night before. We have had to find an alternative the day of our move because DDT simply did not show up and they did not answer the phone. If you value your time and have to move, DDT is not the right company to hire.

We know this work is tough and things happen, however, we still felt that we should've had some sort of inconvenience fee given how much it threw off the rest of the day. We paid them because we did not feel like arguing after an early morning and believe in karma. But I would recommend you define the terms for if they arrive late before you agree to their services. We were highly disappointed in this lack of fairness and customer service. Based on that we will not hire this service again in the future and caution others who might want to hire them.

I didn't realize these quotes often aren't fully accurate; other movers' final quote was almost twice the initial quote I received. My POD was about .20 miles from my front door so a long distance; I gave them a heads up but it was no issue for them. I think it took 4-5 trips so pretty efficient and fast. The guys were nice, communicative, professional and took a lot of care with my stuff. They set up my platform bed for me and put my big furniture right where I needed it. Would totally hires these guys again!
