This was my second visit to this location. The chicken curry was OK but the Biryani was a sham. They mixed the goat curry into the rice and served it as Biryani. For the Owners, Biryani in itself is a separate dish and need to be cooked from scratch. If you don't know how to cook Biryani please take it out from the menu or at least use the Shan Biryani Masala to cook it. The service could be better. read more

I have been going to Charcoal Zyka for about 2 years on and off... it happens to be the place my mom likes to eat now since I introduced her to it. But I did see it on the Hilton Honors Dining email which gave me even more reason to eat there. (Added bonus on top of the 10% off I receive there by checking in through Yelp) They have very authentic food there... and though not fancy, but casual, I love the food there. More quality vs... ambiance.... and they serve halal meat/poultry there in case anyone is looking for that, as I know some people look for that to be offered also. Their Portuguese version of Jerk Chicken is absolutely amazing because they make it over a charcoal open flamed grill. I love their Vindaloo Curry extra spicy! And their Naan is soooo yummy! I prefer the garlic naan. But in any event they also serve gyros and classic American food if Indian is not your thing. I went with a group of 5, and the seating wasn't really adequate since I had to sit at the end of a booth in a not-too-comfortable chair. The waitress forgot about us a couple times (she seemed to be new, as there was another more experienced waitress who came by as well), and the food took an eternity (we got in after a couple large parties/take out orders). So, why do I give it 5 stars? Well, just about everything I mentioned above has a good explanation, but also this place has some absolutely incredible food. The naan is the best I can remember having, and it was fresh, crispy and flavorful. Every dish we had was fantastic. The chicken tikka was well seasoned and creamy without losing any depth of flavor. Even the stuff I usually don't much care for, like biryani, tasted awesome. My boyfriend and I had dinner here tonight. It was empty due to the Super Bowl. They have a great and diverse menu. Our waiter was extremely helpful while we were trying to decide what to order. Friendly staff. Had the chicken tikka masala, pashwari naan, and lamb jalfrezi. Food was very good but not amazing. The lamb was very fatty and full of bones. The parts of the lamb that were meat, and not fat or bones, were very stringy. Ambience of the restaurant was a bit strange. Overall it was a good experience. Worst place I've been to in a really really long time! Their Portuguese chicken is frozen and warmed in the microwave in the most disgusting plate ever. They say it is cooked on charcoal but trust me I don't know when it was actually cooked even because it's cold and raw from inside. And their chicken madrasi is not chicken madrasi btw! And everything you will eat there is going to be old and not fresh! And if you complaint they won't care really and not have the courtesy to apologize. read more

Charcoal Zyka is basically my new obsession. I've been searching for a good Indian place that could rival my favorite back in Cincinnati. I've finally found my match! It's perfectly located on my way home from work and I love that I can order straight from yelp and pick up with no fuss. Since there are other items on the menu it's great for families or groups that may have some that aren't fans of Indian food (only because they've never tried it!) I can definitely see myself bringing my parents here when they visit to get away from the chain restaurants they usually insist we go to. Price point is great too! I can usually make an order of tikka masala last at least two meals - if I can keep myself from devouring it in one sitting. read more

I ordered spicy burger it was really spicy with jalapeños and sauce so good but if it was a little bit more juicy it would have been superb 4/5. Great food. Great service. Nothing fancy as far as ambiance but I didn't care about that. I came because of the positive reviews. I had the tikka masala. Great taste. Chicken was tender and sauce was made perfectly. My daughter had the butter chicken (great for her since she isn't a fan of spicy). My wife had the chicken jalfrezi. She usually gets curry chicken but wanted to try this. She wouldn't shut up about how good it was. She ordered it "burn my face off" spicy, and they definitely delivered. It was the perfect combination is spice and flavor. We had 2 orders of naan (very good). The rice is plain (no orange zest) but it's good. Me and my friends were craving some desi food in memorial day and we stumble upon this place. Which turned out to be a hidden gem. Our server, engib was very friendly and had beautiful big brown eyes with long lashes convinced us to get the portuguese chicken. The chicken was a little burnt but nonetheless delicious. I went just this past weekend and apparently they are under new management. The people were VERY nice there and really excited about their food. I actually just stopped in to get a drink and for my son to use the bathroom! We were given some chicken to taste which we ate in the car on our way across town. It was so good we went back for dinner. I don't say this lightly as I have had a LOT of bbq in my life (I am from the south), this was the best I EVER had. I had the chicken which was slightly spicy (just the perfect amount) and very juicy. My son and wife had the beef ribs which you can just put in your mouth and wait to dissolve.
