I love this store!!! Always kind faces and if there is a problem, no questions asked, they are service with a smile. A wonderful place to take your postal needs! They are a mini post office inside and always a great big smile when I get there! Great produce and I buy all my meat here where they have butchers on site! I'm always in and out. I love this store. Bel Air is generally slightly more expensive than Safeway or Savemart. However, often there are deals that beat the competition. Squeezable Baby Food $1 each! The sushi is made fresh daily and is really good for the price. read more

This place is the nastiest Bel-air I've ever been to. The bathrooms are never clean they smell of pee and mold! The coffee station is even worse, the bagels are never baked right they are under cooked. The half and half smelled sour and i told person who made my coffee that I would not use that half and half it smelled sour and the can was not clean it looked as if they just keep refilling it and not cleaning the actual can. They have horrible customer service, they seem like they hate their jobs! I get it, I really do but don't show that to the customers! Over all this place just needs to be more clean and better management. read more

I like that this store is close to my house and is open late. All of the employees are very friendly and helpful and the store is always well organized and clean. They also sell GT Dave's Kombucha in the black bottle (the one that is naturally probiotic), which I like and a lot of conventional grocery stores don't have. Hint: It's kept in the beer section, separate from the other kombuchas. The reason that I only gave 3 stars is that their organic produce is kind of pathetic. I get the whole supply/demand thing, but Bel Aire is charging the same price (or higher) as Whole Foods, except their organic produce is almost always wilted and old. In terms of greens, the "dino" kale is usually okay, but the 2 other main kale varieties are always wilted and yellowing. The lettuce looks like it just a day or so away from being rotten. I come here several times a week and this always seem to be the case. I have been able to find some good organic cucumbers here, so that's a plus. They hardly have any organic fruit and the organic fruit they do have is kept in the refrigerated section. Assumably this is to prolong their shelf life, but who wants to buy peaches that have been sitting in a cooler for 2 weeks? And for $3.50/pound? Not me. Perhaps as we get into the summer months they will sell more fresh (not refrigerated) organic fruit? One can hope. I guess I am just surprised that they are charging such high prices for the organic produce when the quality is almost always sub-par. Too bad, because I would rather just buy all my organic produce here instead of having to get in the car and drive to a different store. read more

I'm not normally one to post reviews but I had to take a moment to do a shout out for the excellent customer service I received yesterday from Wade in the checkout stand. I was having a particularly rough day and ran in to get a few essential items for a new recipe I was trying out for a dinner party for some business associates. I had limited time and needed speedy service! Wade greeted me with a very warm and welcoming smile! He asked me if I found everything I was looking for and inquired what I was making for dinner. I instantly felt more relaxed as he listened to my whole dinner party story. He checked my items quickly while continuing to engage in the conversation. So often customer service is lacking these days especially during these stressful times with the pandemic. It was so refreshing to receive such high quality friendly service! I cannot say enough good things about my experience! Really changed the course of my afternoon. read more

Whoever buys their meat, vegetable or dairy is risking their health. I bought exactly the same beef products as I did at the Raley's in Roseville, and the difference in quality is huge. The beef from this Bel Air is not fresh. I bought their boxed vegetable that they sell in the refrigerator, they are guaranteed a lot of yellow leaves in the bottom of the box. I bought their Glen Oaks liquid yogurt of Strawberry flavor, the expiration date is 3-4 weeks ahead. When I opened it, it smelled spoiled. The liquid yogurt turned to lumps when I poured it out. There is a reply from the store for the customer complaints of non fresh foods 2 months ago. (the complaint and store reply are a few reviews down below). Obviously, this reply is for a show, they never improved their food quality. I bought the spoiled yogurt 1 month ago. read more

So I start with the good. Young employees are affable and helpful. The females are particularly good looking, especially the young ones. The old guys . . . man oh man. Do I have some stories. Look I want to shop here, but the old guys are beyond rude . . . they are downright arrogant. So I am using the mail center and the guy measures the envelope thickness with a template that look like something from the 1980s . . . worn, flimsy and one end torn. He says you need to pay for more postage. I said ya gotta be kidding me. You are determining the postal rate from the broken template . . . this mutha throws and I mean throws as in air born, my letter back at me. So the guy working with him . . . old bald guy, I say so how much to mail it . . . he says he's helpin ya (the guy who threw the letter at me) so I says you aren't going to mail this and he says no. So I go to the post office. This probably results from my having a letter returned for insufficient postage that this office metered and messed up the amount. So I would like to shop here, but it's the principle. The old guys in the store are not into customer service. read more

Bel Air used to be a great store. The produce at Bel Air used to be the very best anywhere. No more. Mike Teal (owner) has really run this place into the ground. If you are a big fan of store-label products (I'm not) you'll find a lot of them here. The produce is definitely second rate. I used to buy beef here, now I go to Nugget. I used to buy seafood here, now I go to SaveMart (best seafood anywhere). One reason I used to like BelAir in Rocklin was that they unloaded your cart for you...no more (thanks, Mike). I frequent this BelAir at least once a week but I am loyal to Safeway because it's closer. I have always had great service at BelAir until yesterday. I was purchasing OJ ($6.49!) and was in the 15 items or less and of course the gentlmen that cut me off had about 20 items in his cart and was a regular. The Asian teller (I didn't get her name and always do) greeted him and was so polite to him. Had an extended conversation about everything under the sun and there were 2 of them packing his items. When it was my turn, not even a friendly smile but she was already greeting the other couple behind me and started with that conversation. If she was quick and efficient I probably wouldn't have cared as much but then she rudely turned to me and said your bank declined these charges loud enough that the self checkout could hear her say that! Mind you I was annoyed and I punched in something wrong I told her I must have entered something incorrectly. She barely looked at me because she was busy speaking with the customers behind me. I am paying for OJ that cost $6.49 I am sure you can give me 30 seconds of your day!!! Once I entered everything correctly she just gave me my receipt and that was it. 2 things - I get you have your regular customers but CUSTOMER SERVICE is for everyone! And 2nd how rude to say out loud where everyone can hear YOUR BANK DECLINED your charges! It was a mistake but what if something did happen that I was not aware of in regards to my credit card. How embarrassing is that! So FAIL FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Kudos to Hannah, Jack and the head clerk that assisted me with a rug doctor right before this transaction. I am sure the cashier at the 15 items or less line has good customer service but she should have it with ALL GUESTS!!! read more

Staff is very helpful and always there to help out. The place is always busy when I go there so they must be doing something right. Love the fact that have the mini Post Office where I can pay off bills and send off mail. The Chinese Food is pretty good and the sushi is very fresh. I have been a customer, at this location for over a decade. I've always had great experiences both in store and with e-cart. I'm disabled and have found, for the most part, that the staff is very helpful. Sonja, Johnny, and Steve are three of the amazing staff. They are wonderful. I've been unimpressed, however, with the behavior of the young manager. This young man us rude to the employees. He also lacks customer service. This morning, he expected me to do my own carry-out, while pushing myself in a wheelchair. If you choose to work in the field of customer service, that's exactly what's expected. This store does not practice or abide by California refund policies of the State Attorney General. I was refused a refund, exchange, and/or store credit when requested. I called on the phone (and spoke to a woman named Robbie working) to inquire about a refund I needed to do. I was denied. I went in in person to again request the refund, and was denied. This is a violation of state law. If there is a denial of a refund request, it needs to be posted as store policy where consumers can visibly see it BEFORE purchasing. The horrible service that violated this law was conducted by Robbie, a cashier at this store. I have filed a complaint against this store with the State Department of Justice as the site recommends, and I suggest you do the same if you ever experience this kind of rude, ignorant, arrogant, terrible kind of customer service. read more

I am fed up with this store. The only reason I go to this store is because its 3 blocks away from my home. I just purchased some rice cakes, took a bite, and realized they were expired since February of 2014!!! Its August of 2015!!!! I swear - this is not the only time. EVERY time I buy something from this store it spoils in days. Now I only buy things from this store that don't expire. Go to the NUGGET. This store is 10 miles from my house. Called prior to leaving to make sure they indeed did have the Patio Umbrellas, and spoke to Holly C. over the phone before I left and she told me they had 3 sizes of patio umbrellas, a 7 foot, 9 foot and 10 foot. Great! I was looking for the 10 foot, which she told me was $99, good price I thought. Had previously been to a much closer BelAir and they only had the 9 foot ones, so I made the 10 mile treck to BelAir in Rocklin (standford ranch) where I found Holly C. and NO 10 Ft UMBRELLAS! They only had the very same 9 foot ones that the closer BelAir had, she pointed to 2 boxes of 10 foot CANOPYS, when I said those aren't umbrellas she said indifferently "Oh Sorry." I then explained that I had just driven from (incert city name here) based on what she had told me and again I got a "oh sorry, I was on my lunch break when I told you that." Huh? Was that suppose to be an acceptable excuse?and she then turned to another BelAir employee in a dismissive maner. Won't be returning to this store! A genuine "I'm Sooo Sorry would have gone a long way and on top of that she had initally mistaken me for a customer who had called the day before wanting a blue umbrella and she said they hadn't gotten any in but forgot to call back...so some poor customer is probably still waiting for her call. read more

Zach is AMAZING!! My wife bought our Thanksgiving turkey several weeks ago and we recently defrosted it for preparation for Thanksgiving. So it was Wednesday afternoon and my wife took out the thawed bird. I hadn't seen it before that moment and with one look I knew the weight on the tag wasn't that bird's weight. We weighed our 13 year old son before and after holding the turkey and discovered we had a 16 pound bird when the tag claimed it was 21.52 pounds. Before taking off the tag I called Zach and explained the discovery. I asked him if I should bring the turkey back so he can see the discrepancy. He told me to keep the smaller turkey and come get the correct size bird. I took pictures of the weight and the tag just for my own justification and Zach gave us the correct size turkey without any problem and apologized for the issue. Side note; Zach explained that sometimes customers might switch a tag to get a lower price and suggested I check out the tag on the lighter turkey. I did check the tag and out faith in humanity was justified since the tag was securely attached within the metal clip of the netted end of the turkey. There was no tag tampering. I'm not sure how the wrong tag was attached to a lighter bird but I am grateful to Zach for his outstanding customer service. read more
