I will start off by saying the regular sales department experience was great. Angel sold me my car & I would recommend him. He found me exactly what I wanted quickly & I felt it was a reasonable deal. My issue is with the services department. Maybe I should have known better than getting work done on my car at a dealership. I went in for an oil change and left spending $1900 on work on my car. My car is a 2013 and has 65,000, but I take good care of it. I can see needing some work but was completely floored when they told me how much I owe. Also because when they were doing the inspection I was called and told that more work needed to be done but he never gave me a quote. He kept saying, "everything is good on the car." So I took that as you don't need that much work done afterall but we did find that your breaks & 2 tires need replaced. I felt they were extremely manipulative, and avoided my question of the overall price, so really I didn't even get to give a real consent. And when I went to George about the issue he was completely rude and condescending not even sitting down with me just standing over me when he was talking to me & playing the recording. I told me they train their techs to tell customers that they're car is good etc so his tech was speaking the way he was trained. Did not even apologize for not giving me a quote before I got down there & pretty much told me that they were right & I am wrong. I will never do business with them again. My brother had a similar experience & they all most called the cops on him when he was so upset about the prices. The place is a shady as hell & like I said I will never be back. Should have gone to Joe's Auto & that much is my fault I guess for thinking that a dealership would have an ethical service department. read more

Went to Bell Honda after speaking with a salesman who seemed nice on the phone. Their sales process is crazy with an array of people making contact before any actual numbers or negotiations occur. Finally, they gave me an amount to buy the car. I made a counteroffer. After waiting another 10 minutes they came back with their counter...which was HIGHER than their original offer. Total bait and switch. This place does not seem honest, and they try to add on all sorts of extra charges that other Honda dealerships do not. They have called me almost every other day since we left, trying to start again, even after I told the "manager" what happened. I don't trust this dealer at all, and I suggest you go to any other Honda dealer in town. I spoke with or visited many of them, and none act this way except Bell Honda. Do not ever, ever give your personal information to this company. That goes double for your phone number. They got my number via the Costco auto program and haven't stopped calling me since. I normally don't answer my cell phone between 8-5, and I would get out of work with five missed calls and two messages from these people. Eventually they did call when I could answer, and I told them I wasn't ready to buy a car, please stop calling. The sales manager sounded offended and kept asking how he could sell me a car. Over the next few days I told them three more times to stop calling. It has reduced the frequency with which they call, but I still get at least one per week. In my experience, any company this desperate to sell something is usually less than ethical in other aspects of their business. Needless to say, I will not be buying a car from Bell Honda, and I recommend everyone else should steer clear as well. read more

Omar M helped me out. I know it was BlackFriday but he was in such a rush to make a deal, so it made me hesitant to leave there satified thinking if I had the best deal I can get as a consumer. He was at least personable and made things light. Gas wasn't even filled up when I purchased my car but Omar promised me he would do it the next time I swing by. The worst car dealership ever. Nothing of what they so baldly advertise is true. There is no $100 Honda as you so often hear on the radio. You will find maybe after an hour of poor circus tricks and scams that even the prices they advertise on their website are actually ...double. What they advertise are:"factory equipped vehicles ",which apparently they don't have. Every vehicle they offer is loaded with tons of useless "dealer and -ons". In order to buy a vehicle you have to buy:Window tint for$500, paint protection coating $500, alarm $950, some satellite monitoring protection $450, fancy gass in tires $350...and so on. Definitely avoid if you cherish time and money. The funniest thing was when they got me to the boiling point ,their sales manager said ,before I left. "Everybody does so." I would give less than one star if possible. Service was atrocious and frankly embarrassing for the service department. I took in my CRV to have the door locks repaired because of a recall I'd received. It's now 6 days later and it's still not complete after initially being told it would be a 2-3hr repair. They managed to install defective replacement parts after taking 2 days to order them in. Now they are unable to open the doors at all because of this. They're solution to this problem was to do nothing as it sat there an entire day having nothing done and not informing me about the situation until I had to call them at the end of the day since I'd heard nothing from them. Customer service has been completely unapologetic. I strongly recommend not going to this dealership for service or repair. read more

Do not go here unless you want to be lied to and taken advantage of. I made the mistake of purchasing my lease last month and it has been nothing but a nightmare! Biggest issue was I was promised no payments for 45 days and yet they took out a lease payment 3 days after buying it out. I have been calling Honda Financial as well as the dealership and trying to get my sales associate to help me but nobody seems to be the right person to actually refund me my money. Everyone I talk to says I'm getting a refund but to call elsewhere to get it. When I do call the so called people that will issue me my refund they don't answer their phone and don't return my calls or emails. They are a bunch of lying crooks! I wish I had never stepped foot in their dealership!!! Also, they did a full inspection and yet I never received any paperwork about what repairs, if any, they did on the vehicle. They also took off my personal window stickers as well as my alarm sticker for some unknown reason, which makes me wonder if they disabled my alarm. JJ the sales associate said they would be filling my tank as well when I brought it in for the inspection, I reminded them of it when I dropped it off and yet when I picked up my car, it was completely on empty! I reminded the guy and yet instead of filling it up, he just went and got me a $25 gas card and I had to eek out of there on fumes hoping to find a gas station before my car completely ran out of. Luckily there was one across the street, but that's besides the point. They have absolutely NO customer service. Once they get their money they are completely done helping you. I bought a new 2008 Honda Fit from this dealership in May 2008. At the time of the sale they pushed me to buy a three year "tire maintenance" agreement for $400, which was actually more than I ended up paying for four brand new tires during that period. They got the money for the tire maintenance policy refunded to me at my request, but I never received the tax I paid. Since that time I have had the car in for regular maintenance and two recall-related services and have complained for the past two years that the car is burning one quart of oil for every 1500 miles. Each time this concern has been dismissed by a Sales Manager as "normal." It is NOT normal, and has resulted in my having to limp the car into a mechanic twice because the "check engine" light is on long before the car is due for a regular oil change. To add insult to injury, various salespeople have been calling me on my cell phone every 1-2 months trying to get me to trade this Fit in for another car. I have repeatedly asked them verbally, and once in writing, to stop calling me, but they persist. I have never had another dealership make these kinds of calls. If you want to be involved with a dealership that cares little for Customer Service and a lot for the bottom line I would consider Bell Honda. read more

This review is for JJ and long overdue. Our minivan broke down one too many times and we took the plunge to buy a "new" used car. We did a search online and a Honda Odyssey within our price range and the mileage that we were looking for. We called the number and it happened to be one form Bell Honda. The phone rep transferred me over to JJ and he ran out to the lot while I was on the phone to ensure it was still in stock. He answered all my questions over the phone and set up for us to check out the van that night. We came right over. JJ and a another phone rep followed up with us to make sure we were coming so they could have the van out front and ready for us to check out and take for a test drive. When we got there JJ was extremely friendly and good to all 3 of my kids who were restless. He helped us switch out the car seats so we could go on a test drive. JJ was very thorough in going over all of the option of the van. I believe we got a good fair deal both from JJ and Bell Honda (I haven't had buyers remorse). It was my first experience ever going to a car dealership and I'm glad it turned out to be a positive one. All in all it was a good experience. The waiting for the paperwork was a little long and the finance guy trying to upsell me a warranty and gap insurance even when I insisted no was a little bit much, especially considering it was getting late with kids. Absolute worst place ever. I came here while I was looking for a vehicle for myself then again with a family member. Each time the experience was the same. The tactics were extremely aggressive and unpleasant. The complaint isn't really about the salesmen. They were alright but they each seemed to have the same demeanor; laid back and chill but also lazy in their approach. They try to over sell you on the first car you sit in, act as if they don't know what they have on their own lot when you ask for specific features, and they don't like showing multiple cars. The real problem is the sales managers you speak with after deciding you might like a vehicle. The first time I went I left immediately simply because the sales manager was an obvious prick. The second time I was with a young family member who has no experience in this and the sales manager was aggressive, extremely rude, and pulled some shady tricks. I made it clear multiple times that this was the first place we stopped and even if we liked a car we would not be buying one or signing any papers until we had time to bring the info to my husband to look over. The sales manager ignored everything I said, refused to provide information I asked for multiple times and acted oblivious, then literally started arguing with me in order to keep us there. Each time I said "ok if you give me the paper with the offer, we will bring it to my husband to look over and come back" he would disappear for 10 to 15 minutes and come back without it and try to distract us with different information. At one point he came back and randomly said "so I want you to know I dropped your monthly payment by 4 dollars." First of all, we didn't ask for that secondly, we know he could do better but again it was another tactic he was pulling amongst the many to distract us and keep us there longer. After hours of distractions and basically waiting for the information I requested (which we never got) he declared that we would be going back to financing. I explained to him once again that we were not doing that as I previously stated and that he still hasn't provided me with the information I requested. At this point he started arguing with me acting as if I never said that and playing oblivious about not providing the information I requested. Then he began a whole good guy bad guy bit trying to play my young family member against me by telling her things like "you know what you want" and making it seem like I was being crazy and simply didn't want her to do what's right for her. He knew I was looking out for her best interest and that I caught on to each of his tricks which he did not like. Unfortunately she was wore out at this point and is a bit naive and impressionable so he convinced her to trust him. When I told him we were leaving to talk about this and would come back he told her she just needed to sign some papers first and that they were taking her back to do so right away. That was a lie and another one of his tactics as they took her back to financing and she waited for over an hour all the while the salesman making money off her distracted her with conversation. Once she finally got to financing there were additional charges they didn't show upfront. In the original offer document the sales manager presented there was a line for "fees". I specifically asked him if those included the sales tax, documents, tags, and plates which he responded "yes" to. That was another lie as there were additional charges for these things on top of the original. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone unless you want to be practically held hostage. If a salesman is confident in the product he is selling and the offer he is giving you he doesn't need to pull every stop to keep you there because he knows you'll be back. Anytime you feel overly pressured or uncomfortable the best thing to do is walk away. You can always come right back if you decide to. I would also highly recommend bringing a recorder or turning your camera on to hold them accountable. Or you can just save yourself all the trouble and go to Toyota right down the street. They know how to treat their customers with dignity and respect. read more

I was trying to buy a Honda Civic SI there. When I called them and told them that I'm going to buy a car for $26K with title tax and registration they said ok, come over and you'll get a deal. When I got there they said that the car is $28K! They're LIARS! I drove all the way from South Phoenix to get a car. I totally wasted my time!!! Although I absolutely love my Honda, I will NEVER purchase another vehicle from this dealership again. They have been calling me weekly, if not more, for over a year to trade in my car with with guarantee of a brand new, same model car with lower interest rate and the same payments. They claimed they NEEDED my almost new, very few miles car for their used-car sales. When I went in, they did not check my credit, and offered me almost triple my current interest rate and over $1200 in monthly payment-FOR A CAR! They also offered me $4500 less than Kelley Blue Book on my trade in value. When they did check my credit, they still came back at more than $50 over my current payment. Needless to say, I walked out without a new car. The WORST part, isn't actually the bait and switch and fraudulent guarantee. No, that came later, when they proceeded to call me 4 more times over the next 24 hours. The first time they called (about 2 hours after I left the dealership) to discuss how everything went. I politely told them that we did not make a deal, despite the verbal guarantee of same payment, lower interest rate from both the sales person and the manager I spoke to before going in. The second time they called (about 4 hours after I had been in the dealership) it was a salesperson asking me if I wanted to come in and try to work a deal to trade in my car for a newer model, again with the guarantee that I could get brand new, same model car with lower interest-at the same payments. This time I asked to speak to the manager. I told this manager NOT to call me anymore, and that I was extremely disappointed that they can't keep accurate enough records to know that they were calling someone that was in that SAME day and left without a car. I told this manager to NEVER call me again, as I would NEVER be buying a car from them again. Bell Honda proceeded to call me 2 more times, despite my telling them not to call. I plan on filing a complaint with the BBB and corporate Honda in the next few days. I will also file with the FCC if they continue to call me. I got a lease here and only 2 years into the lease they were calling and emailing ALL the time not just once a month but 2 to 3 times a week and I would always politely tell them no I'm not interested, then I finally went down because they told me of a great deal on buying the car early and this phenomenal interest rate, I'm down there for over an hour and NONE of what they said was the case. It was a higher interest rate than even a bank offers. Just all lies to get me in there. I am not normally a person to complain at all. I used to work at a dealership and I know the ultimate goal is to up sell in service and in sales. I get it I am not mad that people try. Yesterday I dropped my car off for 3 recalls (2003 oddessy) it has been babied because it was my grandfathers car. Roy was great at getting me a rental and I went on my way. Today I go to pick it up and find that someone left the door open overnight and the battery was dead.. Ok no problem then the antenna was taken off for a wash and left in the car.. Ok no problem.. Then I get in and discover the clam around the steering column wasn't put together. Ok I try to snap it back on when I discover that the clips have been completely busted off and it won't snap together so I go back in and no one will even come look at my car instead they show me on another oddessy that the airbag sensor they replaced is like 2 inches away from the clam so it's not their issue.. Well it wasn't like that when I dropped it off and no where on the service write up does it describe damage to that part of the vehicle.. Roy didn't have time too deal with me apparently and had no idea in his words about the steering column of an oddessy.. How can you be a service writer and not know about parts on a car? Simple parts at that.. So not only am I mad now I have to go fork out money for someone to fix what could have been a great experience at bell Honda.. Husband and I were considering trading in for a new civic.. Guess we will choose somewhere else to do that at since your guys can't be bothered with my "issue" which they completely caused.. Update! I went looking for a specific used vehicle. It was found in back Lot 5. I was told by salesman Nicholas that the vehicle had not even been looked at by a mechanic yet. That was ok because I was going to take the vehicle to my trusted mechanic before deciding to purchase. Nicholas had to go with me to my mechanic and while on the way he started asking me if I had money to put down, was I trading in a vehicle, needing financing or getting my own. Red flag #1. All the questions they typically ask so they know how much to hike the price over KBB AND Black book value. (Look it up!). I didn't answer. My mechanic gave the vehicle a good check so I decided to purchase. Now the nightmare begins. They would not give me the price of the vehicle until I answered all of those typical questions Nicholas previously asked me. Red flag #2. Then the haggling begins. We haggled and Nicholas goes back and forth about 3 times asking me to put more money down. I said no and the payments were too high for me. Finally he comes back and puts a hand written offer with a line for me to sign stating I WILL BUY if I agree to these terms. I said fine. I am led to believe the financing is approved and all is good so off to the finance department where I sign my life away. I signed all the papers that were pushed past me just as fast as they can. Red flag #3. Very quickly they tell me just the bare minimum of information so as to distract me. MY MISTAKE! I finally sign the really long form called Retail Installment Sale Contract. It states all the terms I agreed to. All done signing, I shake hands and continue on my way thinking I bought the vehicle. WRONG! Five days later I get a call from the financing department asking me to come in and sign the final papers. WHAAAAAT??? I already signed a contract! Oh and it had to be THAT DAY as it was the last day of the month. How convenient as I live in Mesa and the dealer is in N Phoenix, 40 minutes away. Nobody told me anything like this and I was just back at the dealer the previous day having them fix something that should have been fixed the day I took possession. When I get to the financing room Gordon tells me the financing was not accepted and they were now asking for more money down, payments I could not afford, increase in the interest rate and extended loan terms. I said NO and just give me my car back. Gordon says he'll see what he can do. He comes back with another offer and "threw in" a 12 month service contract (which I had previously turned down). Oh but the service contract was actually added to the price of my financing. ***THIS PREDATORY LENDING PRACTICE IS CALLED "SPOT-DELIVERY" OR YO-YO SALES *** The dealer delivers the vehicle to the customer on the spot before financing has been approved. The dealer allows the customer to believe the financing is approved or will be shortly. Days or weeks later you are called back to the dealer to sign final papers with new terms. IF YOU ARE ASKED TO SIGN A "CONDITIONAL DELIVERY AGREEMENT" ...... BEWARE!!!!! Read it and ask questions! Look it up for yourself. There are a lot of good articles about this. One even written by the Attorney General's office! I know it is my responsibility to read and understand what I'm signing. A lot of the paperwork is confusing and that is where people TRUST the dealership. BIG MISTAKE! They do not care if you understand their deceitful ways of making a sale. Just because it's legal DOES NOT mean it is an ethical way to treat a customer. Dealerships and car salespeople have a very bad reputation for being shady, pushy and real smooth fast talkers. WELL EARNED BAD REPUTATION and Bell Honda is no exception! I will never do business with Bell Honda again. read more

Buying a Civic. Wow, 5 hours really? Hmm and this was with an appointment, supposedly with Costco auto program so price determined, and spoke to sales person J. T. at Bell Honda several times to verify color, make, model and no extras! Note, they show you the price after you test drive, about 40-60 minutes after you get there, because of the Costco program, from there the sales person blames the program for all the extras. This came with about 2000 dollars in extras we said no. They took one off, comp'd another, but could not the rest and said Costco requires this . ????. Wrote a letter and have to wait till tomorrow to contact Costco by phone. When I get their response, I will update their review. Now, no one tied us to the chair, and we did have another dealership lined up, so time vs money, we figured we just wanted to get a car and get out of there. With the program they cannot quote on phone, and of course not on your own either, and by the looks of things there is some extra added everywhere, so we stayed put. Our sales person had to get permission to get things off that we did not want, these were non physical items, one was a remote alarm feature, clear coats package, etc. Bell Honda is where we were sent to and were told by the Costco representative before that this location had the car with our specs, and also had an extra 500 rebate, which our sales person knew nothing of, and the price offered is the same as the internet pricing. Also, they seem to play" time".... that seems to be their game. We wanted to leave to get lunch while they were working everything out, lol, right, we just should have left. We were told 2 minutes, 2 minutes.... No. If time is your concern I suggest using your credit union with a fleet dealer! My personal experience with a couple times using fleet have been 1 hour in and out, quote and car specs what you want and on lot when you arrive with money. When finally in an office to sign paper work, I am still shaking my head at how long they waste your time at this place. The finance manager (I. G.) was not ready and did not look for anything, he was full of sales talk to up sale for maintenance and extra warranty. Did nothing we didn't already do for ourselves as far as financing.. First he said he found an aggressive rate, but when asked he did not want to talk about anything except warranty, which is odd how "limited" is emphasized on the 3 year warranty that comes with the car and how much you need this extra, yet he gives no paperwork on warranty he is selling except how much. We have excellent credit by the way. He already had our bank info and the rate that we gave him, our sales person told us he gave it to him and when we were called back we were told the finance guy was ready and we only had to sign papers, no that is not how it went, upsale all the way, not ready. My number one complaint is all the time that was taken!! I am calling the manager today to give feedback. And get our paperwork for the warranty. I will let you know. We are usually quite good with all the paperwork, but after 5 hours, we missed a paper. Yes, we ended up buying the car, because well, we wanted a car....Just be ready!!!! We got the same as the internet price. I thought we were ready, because I had spoken to a Costco person from the auto program, the salesman person (J. T) whom I had spoken with a minimum of 3 times, and told him exactly what we wanted and that we did not want extras on the car, He said he had what we were requesting and this was all before our appointment. When I called out the sales person about him saying he had the car I requested on the lot, he said it was the Costco's program agreement? I am surprised that Honda, with such a great product would not provide better training and put a stop to such sales tactics! The product sells itself. Please do your homework before you shop!!! I hope this will help anyone on their way out looking for a car today. Down below this review it is asking about credit cards if accepted, yes, only up to $5000.00, they say they have to pay 3% fee and too many people can change their mind .So that is why they can only take that much. update: Just spoke to the manager and he is taking care of some things with the warranty and explained about the Costco program a bit better. This dealership's 500 dollar rebate is for college grads and military. Not everyone, looks like there was a confusion there. And that some things are on the cars, and that is a pre-arranged agreement with Costco, but the features are at a discount, I can support that by looking at my paperwork, the extras are less than on your own. So looks like frustration all the way around, the sales man felt he could not do what he needed to do because of our expectations and we felt they were not being met due to what we were told ahead of time. Received tons of emails from multiple salesmen all saying they were "Adam Haven" even though the return emails were all different. Kept pushing me to come in for a quote and a free gas card. After I went in the salesman refused to put his name on the card and just wrote the price on a generic Bell Honda card and said the cards were locked up but that he'd put it out the next day. Very unsatisfied customer. I was harassed over purchasing an extended warranty, and other options. Additionally, harassed over financing through Bell Honda. And the list goes on... but I don't have all night to share everything that went wrong. If you do buy a car at Bell Honda.... consider the following: Before taking possession of the car and driving off the dealership, ensure the car is in the same shape you previously saw it. If all possible, take pictures and compare. (Things tend to change when your out of sight). Request all items before buying the car and have all these items provided to you BEFORE you leave this dealershipi.e. keys, car manual, etc. Verify everything they say. Really. Purchased my used car here. Roberto was really great finding me the best deal for what I was looking for and I was happy with the result. He was able to hold my car for two weeks until I arrived from Los Angeles, with no deposit. Also, his first offer was with a 10% interest which is beyond ridiculous, even for someone who doesn't have a revolving credit. I knew I could get less. Then his second offer was 5.~%. Then I decided to get a loan from another source. It was kind of sad because at first I actually thought I was in for a 10% rate until I questioned it--maybe it wasn't on purpose to try and make a profit, maybe that's what a bank really offered, either way, I feel terrible for the people to go in there not-knowing and pay anything higher than a 5% interest. We ran into some trouble with the registration of the car and I had to call my insurance company and have them explain that there wasn't a difference between a co-signer and a guaranteer when it came to registering the car under my name only. It was a big waste of time and should have been foreseen by the dealership to resolve this problem on their end. I was at Bell Honda today and Zach helped me finally get into a new car. I have been quite indecisive and met with him a few times until I finally made a choice. Zach has been extremely helpful and patient with me. He kept offering me options and was consistent until I finally got the car I wanted.
