The Bell Tower Cafe is a cute little spot for brunch. The building has some history behind it, which you can read all about on the little frames around the cafe. It's a very cute atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are super nice and give great recommendations. I had the red velvet pancakes, which were amazing! The cafe is a little on the pricier side, but it's a nice spot for get togethers or brunch dates. Not an every day spot, but a good events spot. Parking is free in the public lot across the street. We came here for my birthday brunch, and the whole time we were there, our server made us feel like we were a huge nuisance. We had a large group, and called ahead to let them know we were coming. This place gets very busy, and we were told to arrive by a certain time to be sure we could get a table. I was disappointed in the quality of the food and service. I certainly wouldn't recommend for large group, but after that experience, I still wouldn't go back with a small one. read more

Service was bad and food was mediocre. We went to Bell Tower Cafe on a Saturday morning at about 10:30 am. I had heard good things about it and wanted to give it a try. There were five of us in the group. The hostess took us to a table right away however it had only four chairs and it took them several minutes to locate an extra chair which left three of us standing by the table waiting for the chair. There seemed to be plenty of wait staff for the number of people in the cafe but it took a very long time for anyone to bring us a menu or offer coffee. Every interaction was very slow. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine. It was adequate but was greasy and the crust was tough. My husband ordered their signature Well Done Burrito and found it unimpressive. read more

I absolutely love this place! It's my favorite breakfast place. Everything I've ever had is amazing but I always get the same thing, ham egg and cheese crepe. My mom always gets the well done burrito. And my sister always gets the red velvet pancakes. But not just the food is great. Gave it one star because I couldn't give it zero.. I ran into Saratoga today to pick up a plant for my pond at Liquid Garden (4 stars!). Had just thrown some cash in my pocket - without my wallet - so only had about 16. on me. Was dying for something like a breakfast burrito. I walked into the Bell Tower and asked to look at the togo menu. The breakfast burritos were about 14. I laughed and said I am not paying 14. for a breakfast burrito, and as I was walking out the door - the arrogant ahole behind the counter yelled at me - Why don't you try Taco Bell?! Really? I have been in the restaurant business many years. I have lived and worked in Los Gatos for many years. I can't wait to tell everyone I know that story. Sometimes you just piss off the wrong person. Okay. Efficient,but minimal service. Saturday morning, about 70% of tables in use. Brought drinks and food quickly, and that was it. Egg white omlette was missing feta and cucumber(cut yours in half immediately to check). Salmon Benedict was good, but could use a little more lemon in the hollandaise. Melon garnish in the plates was ripe and delicious. Had to go up and get our own butter for toast. Good medium roast coffee. Nice space and shaded patio. Worth a try. read more

Based on the amount of stars my sister and I decided to give this place a try. It was already after 2 pm and they close at 3 but we went for it anyways. Bad decision! The menu choices sounded delicious but was not the case. The waiter seemed distracted and rushed. My sister ordered the clam chowder and garden salad with apples and beets. I ordered the make your own omelette with hash browns. The food came out......what a disappointment! Her salad was a giant bowl of lettuce with some apple pieces and minimal beets on top and they charged us $10!! The $4 strawberry lemonade was also a rip off! The clam chowder looked weird, a brownish color. We asked another server if it was even clam chowder, maybe our waiter made a mistake. The honest server told us she must have been served the bottom of the pot that had been sitting on the stove since it was made at 6am that morning. He was surprised that it was even served to her. Yuck!! That pretty much spoiled the rest of our lunch. She was given a fresh bowl but appetite was gone at that point. She didn't even eat the salad. My omelet however was hearty and tasted good but the hash browns had no flavor. The side of fruit was a kind addition since I didn't want the toast. I understand this place is new so hopefully they can get some things ironed out. The chef needs to remember that we first eat with our eyes so presentation matters as well as taste. Came here two weeks ago on a Saturday around 12. The people that work there don't really do a job of seating people or paying attention to people waiting to be seated. There was a wait list that I signed up for when I came in, table of two. The employees never checked it and it seemed random when they would notice anyone waiting to be seated. A couple came in and stood for awhile and got seated right away while I've been waiting for 30mins to be ignored. After that happened, I asked one of the waitresses who proceeded to give me attitude and a glare as if I was doing something wrong just for asking if they were going off of the wait list at the front. Anyhow, already, I'm not impressed with the rude customer service. I get seated finally with my friend, order our food after finally deciding from so many yummy descriptive foods to choose from. I got the popular Italian omelette and my friend got the ham panini (something like that). It took over an hour for both of us to receive our food and coincidentally, we weren't the only ones. The table next to us had been waiting around 1.5hrs and complained. The response they got from their waitress was that "I'm sorry, were really backed up on orders right now." This may sound harsh but how can you be so backed up on orders that multiple tables are waiting over an hr to get their food?! If anything, the business looks more understaffed than anything. The table on our other side took just as long to get their food too. The food came eventually and the portions were ridiculously small (good thing I used a Groupon, $20 off, only paid $3) and my bread was left out, it never came after I asked for it. Being already super let down by the customer service, I decided not to make a case about it and just ate my food quietly and left. Coincidentally, the table next to us used a Groupon too. I think it's safe to say the next to me and myself will never be coming back here again without a Groupon. There was so much potential to be had at Bell Tower Cafe. Your interiors are beautiful and you have a really good environment and setting. Overall, there were lots of dissatisfaction from the customers that were eating there. The business really needs to work on their customer service, staffing enough people, and maybe get more chefs/cooks because waiting over an hour for food from not just me but multiple tables due to being backed up on orders is unacceptable. read more

I am surprised about the bad reviews. Churro waffle is amazing. Basically dessert for breakfast. I think they make the waffle in an iron, and then deep fry it with cinnamon sugar. Way to expensive for what you get. I got the Cubano expecting a decent sandwich that had pork, ham, sliced pickles and the expected add on that a cubano has. What I got was a baloney/pork sandwich that had pickles that weren't even sliced to fit the sandwich. In my opinion they just took the pickle straight out of the jar and slapped it in to the sandwich. O YA BALONEY, who the hell puts baloney in a cubano!!! I ordered the slider entree hoping to really enjoy this restaurants offerings. when the sliders arrived it was basically a piece of beef on a bun. No onions, no tomatoes, no lettuce, no pickle, nothing but potato chips. really! I had to ask for some onions and condiments and all I received was a stack of old looking onions and two pickles. Have tried this restaurant twice and just received wrong items in order placed through door dash...when I called to inform the restaurant of the mistake they tried to blame door dash for the mixup in a very aggressive manner. This went on for several minutes. I ended up getting in my car and driving to the restaurant to pick up the correct item that was made on the spot by the kitchen as it was their fault all along, they had made a mistake. Not door dash. This would not have bothered me if the gentleman who answered he phone would have shown a decent amount of courteous behavior towards a customer who was unhappy about the situation. I went there for a birthday brunch and they were happy to seat my large group of guests out on the patio that is beautifully decorated. the endless mimosas come in a large cup and are absolutely delicious! Patio is covered and enclosed with screens so it's not windy. We sat out there on a rainy day under a heater, and were really happy.
