She didn't want the capers but already mixed in the tuna. She liked it . I got the clam chowder but it came at the same time or actually after they brought our meal. Bella Bru has been a favorite since 1999 (at their El Dorado Hills location)! Stopped into the Natomas location after getting my nails done and a workout across the street. The steak was cooked medium-rare to perfection. The entire salad was delish and the chimichurri just sealed the deal. All of the other menu items are great, too (coffees, breakfast, desserts). The atmosphere is always upbeat. They play really good music, have games on the TV's and you can bring your dog to dine with you on the patio. The entire staff was super friendly and they checked in with me throughout my stay to be certain that I was enjoying my dining experience. It has been some time since I have been to Bella Bru. The menu had such a variety of things to choose from for both breakfast and lunch. I like that if you want something simple like some eggs & bacon they have it, or if you want something with more pizzaz you can get huevos rancheros. The drink selection was good too and not overwhelming. The place was very busy but our waitress checked in twice for our table. I do think there could be a little more attention to detail, no one came by to refill our water but it was not a big deal. Pleasantly surprised with my experience, will have to come back to try out lunch! read more

Prior to the pandemic, I worked close to this establishment and had it bookmarked as a restaurant that I would visit in the near future. Two years into the pandemic and I am still working from home (thank God!), which is not in close proximity to Bella Bru Cafe. Shortly after, an extremely friendly waitress provided us with lunch menus (lunch had just started at 11am), and took our drink orders. After returning with our drinks, she took our meal orders. I was struggling to make a decision between the Bella Bru French Dip and the Grilled Blackened Salmon Salad; thankfully (for my healthy eating lifestyle) the waitress suggested that I opt for the latter. I was thoroughly impressed by the portion size and fresh taste of my salad (not all salads are created equal). Ordered crab cake with shishito peppers, burrito, chicken fried steak, two mango smoothie, Bloody Mary, Irish coffee for four people. Crab cake is spectacular! One decent piece with the shishito peppers and little coleslaw made my tiny belly full and was even able to share. All loved it! It's moist and succulent and right amount of spice. My friend knew this place so I decided to meet him here. Originally I wanted salmon salad but I was told that the salmon is not wild-caught so I decided to go with Cobb salad. It looked ok, but not like LA salad but wasn't bad, but I completely forgot to ask for a dressing on the side so there was kind of a heavy white creamy dressing on it, and it did come with turkey meat but my friend thought it was process turkey. My friend got Cobb salad with added shrimp which I should have done... It's not like a super healthy trendy brunch place but it's decent and has a nice big patio seating, has a full bar and pastries, I like the fact that they have Rombauer Chardonnay by glass, so I had to get that with my salad. Sunday funday! Arrived in Sacramento late at night so by the morning me and my partner were starving our butts off. So my friends took us to one of their regular brunch spots and it was really pleasant! There was a super long list of patrons waiting haha, came in at 12PM on a Sunday, but fortunately they have a huge space and we were seated within 15-20 minutes. Ordered a carafe of mimosas to share between four people for $23. It gave us each about 2 glasses. I got the avocado toast and the tomatoes were soooooo juicy and fresh. My go to favorite tends to switch between the sunrise special (two eggs any style served with country potatoes or fruit or sliced tomatoes, toast, plus add on bacon) and morning breakfast (two eggs any style, bacon or chicken apple sausage or ham & slice of french toast, served with country style potatoes). With an iced tea and mimosa to drink, they have flavors (orange, pineapple, cranberry and grapefruit). Check them out sometime, they have indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the French dip sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was excellent and the portions were generous. My husband enjoyed his tomato soup and loved the decorated surface. Came here to pick up cake for my dads birthday and the staff member who helped me was the sweetest! She helped me on the phone when I asked for the flavors of cake and even in person she was so nice, she even gave me a free candle! This cafe is pretty big! The ambience was nice and on a Friday morning, it was packed! I only got to try their cake and it was so good! Wasn't too sweet which is my preference. Bella Bru remains special to my Hubby and I. When we first moved to Natomas they use to have live music during the summer evenings. Drinks and good music was always a plus. Their coffees and desserts are delicious. However every now and then Hubby and I enjoy having our Brunch dates. Hands down Bella Bru never fails. I grew up with Huevos Rancheros being served always sunny side up, not a big fan. This is the first place that I've seen that offers delicious Huevos Rancheros with any style eggs. You have my vote for being the best breakfast spot. :) Hubby enjoyed a good Turkey Club Sandwich. I ordered a plain iced coffee and it was exactly what I hoped for on a hot day. Hubby ordered a caramel macchiato it was yummy. Highly recommend if not to enjoy a meal to try their desserts. They do have a heavenly chocolate cake and yummy cheesecakes. COVID review: This has been my family's go to spot pre-covid since it's literally a 4 minute drive from the house in Natomas. During the heat of COVID, we would order take out from here and just pick it up. So for Mother's Day, we decided we would finally go out and eat because we are all vaccinated and felt safe in doing so. We pulled up to Bella Bru at 9am hoping that the wait wouldn't be THAT crazy. We waited for 40 minutes and got seated outside in the booth area. Unexpectedly, it was cold as shit!!! My fault for not looking at the weather. The waiter took my family's order, brought out the drinks, you know... the usual. Now here's the interesting part. The bus boy brought out our food HELLA fast. Our orders correct, except with minor mistakes (like the way our egg were cooked or what meat we got on the side). So when we told the bus boy that our order was off, he looked at us confused. Then the table NEXT to us overheard and shouted "Those are our orders!! We won't accept it since you placed it on their table." TLDR; bus boy gave us the order that the table next to us was supposed to get, and the table next to us just so happened to order the same plates as us. Haha. I ordered the Chicken fried steak with italian sausage gravy. Gosh, this is soooo tasty. My brother also ordered the same dish and when we finished it, we looked at each other with a look of satisfaction. In love with Bella Bru's gravy. It hits you in the mouth soooo hard. And yes I did ask for extra gravy. Sad to say but the toast me and my brother got with our food (I got wheat and he got the cranberry bread) was BURNT. Like blackened to the CORE. So we asked for new toast and they brought it out fairly quickly. For those wondering, Bella Bru is currently open for indoor and outdoor dining. There is still a mask policy unless eating or drinking and warning: people aren't really doing any real social distancing in the waiting to be seated area. I was searching for a veggie/vegan/plant based lunch spot for a quick bite and chose Bella Bru by mistake as I thought this place had an array of meatless options... and that's not the case. -HOWEVER- Turned out to be a happy mistake cause baybeee what we ate was hella good AND the outside seating area added a super cute rose bush backdrop for a photo op! Other than salads, the 2 main meatless lunch entrees were Impossible burger and Garden/Veggie burger. This has been the neighborhood go-to spot in North Natomas for quite a while. The staff is always very nice and attentive. I have been coming here for over a decade (since I was a little kid) and the food is delicious. Whether you want to get breakfast, lunch, or dinner Bella is guaranteed to have something for you. The prices are a little more on the expensive side (except for certain breakfast items which are a steal) but the flavor more than makes up for what you pay. Therefore, it's a $$ but well worth your dollar. They have a heated outdoor patio which is really nice to eat at on weekend mornings. Sometimes the wait times in the lending are rather long so call ahead to have a reservation just in case. I'd recommend the Sunrise special for breakfast , the nachos for lunch, and any of their amazing pizzas for dinner. Their menu has a wide array of options that are all very delicious. The bathrooms are always clean and the location overall could better. The bread that you can get from here is always fresh and tastes like heaven (ask for the cranberry walnut). The morning breakfast looked ok, bacon was very crispy. For me, I really liked the cinnamon French toast. Very tasty. The service was good considering how busy it was. Everyone was bustling and running around to take care of everyone. The ambiance was that of a nice diner. Lots of seating for both inside and outdoor seating. Walked-in for dinner before the chilly weather came with my big sis Rachelle O. and after a short wait (sanitizing tables in between customers), were seated at an outdoor table, well-spaced out. Restaurant staff all were wearing masks, and hand sanitizer was provided. Paper menus I believe were provided, and we shared a calamari appetizer, Rach got a glass of red wine and the fettucine alfredo, while I got the trout [fish] dish off the specials menu. Great service, from bringing out the bread and butter starter and calamari, to the wine and main entrees, and take-home boxes if needed. This is the meet-up spot as it's a halfway point amongst friends. It's been great every time we've come over the last few years. Starting with the hostess who is always friendly and welcoming, we are seated quickly and the servers are attentive and kind. Especially last Saturday when Jasmine waited on us. She was super upbeat, had great recommendations and was just "on it". We all adored her as our server. The coffee mugs are ginormous, I never do more than one but my coffee drinking homies loved it and made the price point work for them, haha. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Went for dinner on a Friday evening. Sat on the patio. Plenty of space between tables. Wait staff is very attentive and swift. They ran out of both the filet and the short ribs by 6:30 pm. I had the salmon plate with was a barbecued filet with barbecue sauce on top. Tasty but a bit cold. Came with a side of rice that tasted just like the rice in South America with chicken stock. Also had a side of cucumbers, basil, red onion, kalamata olives, and goat cheese. Yummy but strange pairing with salmon. Others at my table got the mighty chicken salad and the caesar salad with chicken. Large salad portions. I wish there was music playing or some kind of ambiance. I mentioned it to the manager that I thought it was concerning and he was very dismissive stating that the owner doesn't think it's that important. Hard too see in one of the photos, but a maskless worker went to cake case, put hands & nearly whole head in, then proceeded to eat selection standing next to open case. If you're THIS dismissive about Covid safety for your customers, why on earth would I trust this business to be conscientious when it comes to general food service safety? read more

Have been coming here since we moved to Sacramento, for 16 years. They have some pretty solidly delicious choices. Right now we've been on a crab cake (we get extra peppers instead of coleslaw) and artichoke kick for sometime. A+'s all around for these. Love. We get it to go for lunch, since our kids never want to eat here for dinner. If they do, they get the bolognese pasta which is excellent. When we first started coming we loved the Cuban nachos (regular nachos now) and the cakes. We even ordered whole cakes for birthdays. They raised the price and the slices seem small, so not really worth it anymore. Some other good dishes are the fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, salmon BLT and artichoke dip (though I don't see it on the menu anymore. Maybe because it was a bit overpriced). It's a definite no for me on the burgers. Way overpriced and not really good. I don't order salads for the same reason. They seem overpriced and nothing special. Go to Jacks for a good salad and Ettore's for the best burger. Even BJ's has a way better burger, (though have had bad ones there before too. Depends on who's cooking it I suppose). Breakfast is pretty good to my memory. ..except for the omelet. My husband picked it up for me one time and it was a plain omelet with the veggies and onions just plopped on top. Came in on a Wednesday evening thinking it'd be quiet but it was shockingly crowded! The waiter was super nice and I felt bad because all of the busboys had just absolutely no idea which table ordered what food. We must have seen at least six separate times tables get food they didn't order and it even happened to us. I watched our food get delivered to three different tables before they brought it to us. We had ordered a couple burgers and a Nashville chicken sandwich and I had a side of fries but they brought me a salad instead. When everyone had their food they took my entire plate back and brought it back with fries so I was just sitting there while everyone else ate.
