Shrimp Louie

Portion sizes were huge! But I wasn't mad about it. I got the shrimp Louie salad and I loved it! My husband got the carbonara and enjoyed that as well. Service was amazing and super fast. Cute little small town restaurant. Will be back!

Scampi de la Casa with linguini noodles and lemon sauce

Great ambiance and cheerful wait staff. Have yet to try their pizza but recommend the calzones, spaghetti, ravioli and well, any pasta dish with linguini noodles. Carafe of house wine for $15. Open late. I've been unable to order anything other than the "scampi de la casa" with the lemon sauce and linguini noodles the last few times because it's so delicious.

A nice place to eat with family when you are in nearby area! The service was amazing and everyone was so friendly. I got a pizza and a pasta take out. It was packaged with care and full of deliciousness. They were definitely not diet foods but more of comfort foods that will fill you up and get you satisfied. I just thought it was so cute to see the children's menu where they could have their own portion sized food so I got the picture of it. The ambience was family friendly, cozy, not too loud but not too silent, just right, also it could be romantic if you look at it that way. I'm glad to find another happy spot to eat in Alaska. Will return to try more things!

Entry way!

This was an okay experience. It started with walking in and being greeted....by no one. I waited...texted my mom....waited...got curious...walked into the dining room a little...couple customers...no servers...walked back to lobby...texted my wife...stood patiently...for another 3 minutes... when someone happened to walk by and ask, "How can I help you?" It kind of sounded like, "why are you here?" Nonetheless, I was seated and things went up from there. Water was immediately filled and they were really good about refills. We ordered two pizzas: a meat lovers, vegetarian, and some manicotti. If I had never eaten here, I'd want to know that the manicotti is basically just thin pasta covering a whole bunch of ricotta with sauce poured all over. I'd want to know that the vegetarian pizza has sliced roma tomatoes all over the top of the pizza. I'd want to know that the meat lovers crust years really easy and you'll probably need a fork to eat the pizza. I'd want to know that they load up the meat lovers pizza and don't skimp on the ingredients. And I want to know that whole the service is pretty good, the kitchen seems a little slow. Everything was tasty, but nothing special. Prices seem normal for Alaska.

Very nice staff and huge portions. Will be enjoying tomorrow night for dinner as well!

Greek style pizza

This was my first visit. I don't know about the other menu items, but the pizza is on par if not better than moose's tooth. That's my honest opinion. If you're in the mood for Italian, then give it a try... I think you should try it anyway.

Prices are high. Nothing like Mooses tooth pizza. Food was better than I thought it would be but not the best I've had.

Favorite pizza. Greek Gyro is where it's at. We order takeout once a month. Our community is lucky to have such a great gem!

Nice, clean, family restaurant, but a little bit on the pricey side. The best part is they deliver around Chugiak.

Most often, I leave a steak house thinking I could make a better steak for a fraction of the price at home. This was not the case here. The service was also good, which is a nice change for the area. We live here and quite frankly, the service in the Anchorage area is usually pretty marginal. So, that was a pleasant surprise. However, the sides are quite expensive and billed as "family style" but they are a single serving really. The exception was the Parker House rolls which I think came out 5 to an order. They were pulled apart and the sides of the rolls were dry, as if they had been plated up and set under a heat lamp for too long. The risotto was prepared incorrectly. It was mushy with no hint of the classic al dente. I think if they can't take the time to cook that dish correctly, they should consider taking it off the menu as it is a marker for a good meal in my opinion. The wedge salad was pretty standard fare, with a couple of heirloom tomato slices that were also mushy (although, I can forgive that given where we live as the lettuce was crisp and nice) The other side we ordered was a special, fiddlehead ferns, served braised. They were tasty, and the best non steak item we had, but a small portion and, I think $23, which seemed quite expensive. I think the next time we go, we will just share a steak with a glass of wine and skip the overpriced 15-25 side dishes.

While I…read morethink that the local community is now well aware of their presence, it is absolutely worth driving from Anchorage or stopping on your way through to sample. They open most days at 4 PM, however, calling ahead to verify and check wait times is not a bad idea. About two weeks ago, a pick up order was called in for three entrées at 6:00pm and we were told there was a 45 minute wait, that turned into an hour and a half. When I arrived at the 1hour mark with two elderly and very hungry parents in the car, there appeared to be nobody dining in, but there were a few people pacing while waiting to pick up food. After about 15 minutes, one lady rang the service bell multiple times and when a staff member came out she angrily declared she'd like to pay for something she had consumed, canceled the rest of her order, and stormed out. I asked the other folks how long they had been there and the consensus was that they had been waiting quite a while. After another half hour wait and a few more folks arriving to pick up, my families order was the first ready. It was steaming hot and obviously fresh as having just been completed. I hope everyone else got their food in quick succession. It seemed likely there was an issue in the kitchen as sometimes the wait is long when they're busy but they've been pretty accurate in expressing wait times in the past. A subsequent order two days ago called in at about 4:15 was ready in 20 minutes. So the secret may be calling before dinner time. Their menu is delicious. Everything is always prepared so well and we have never been disappointed. Favorites have been red curry and green curry, both are pretty spicy but remarkable. Pad Thai and the Bangkok noodle are also delicious. Pineapple fried rice is quite possibly something you haven't tasted before, but will want to have again, spring rolls are always a favorite, Sesame chicken has never failed, and any order where tofu is a non-meat choice, the tofu is absolute perfection. The dining room is way too hot for this Alaskan, but is spacious and can seat large parties. Call ahead and check the wait times but definitely check this place out for dinner. It is family owned, and they are very friendly, taking great pride in the food they prepare and their service.

It was the pizza reference I grew up with when I came of age and learned what a pizza was. That said over the past years, the points we had amassed as we were weekly or every other week pizza na families and often multiple lunches per week at pizza man. That stopped after this last Thursday. We had a late evening of soccer, then a power outage occurred and we had no ability to cook, thought taking a pizza to go would be ok. We ordered and headed that way. Upon arriving, we asked to change our pick up order to a dine in option as the kids and I wanted drinks and sodas. The hostess said "that shouldn't be a problem, let me clean off a table and I can seat you." It seemed out of courtesy that she notified the server that she was seating an adult and three kids, "they already ordered their pizza just want drinks and salads too." The server, a shortish woman about 5'5" long curly dark hair some visible tattoos was told this. She turned and said to the hostess "they ordered to go, they get their pie and get outta here." I said "hold on, we haven't paid for anything yet, we just want to sit and eat and we will still pay for everything, even tipping, just don't want to eat pizza outdoors or in the car." Her response was "you shoulda thought of that before you placed an order, pay for your pizza and get outta here." While this was happening, there was another couple who had done the exact same thing in the front dining area-eating out of to go boxes as they too "changed their mind." I love pizza man I hated that server If you wonder why you're losing customers-look within the staff you've hired. I didn't pay for the pizza and it's unfortunate I said "this fucking place has gin so fucking far downhill from where you used to be." Literally a staple of the community and hiring shitbags and others who treat YOUR customers like shit. How fucking dare you. I'm sure I won't get the response I'm looking for. But I hope everyone who is thinking of going to pizza man reads this and rethinks paying any money to your business. It's so sad to see a company who was so great to a community succumb to greed and assholeism that is too prevalent in our society Politely Go fuck yourselves What sucks is that I have to even give A star so it'll work in some metric for yelp. No one at pizza man cares to comment and no manager wants to address this either. Pretty common for dirt bags

The chips arrived hot, and the salsas (hot and mild) were the real deal. Ask for the green salsa, too, as it goes beyond the normal salsa verde, and it is really, really good. My husband and MIL ordered the Halibut Tacos ($26.50), and these were surprisingly just okay. The halibut itself was great, but there wasn't any sort of sauce with the tacos, which left the taco as a whole coming across as somewhat bland. My son ordered the Acapulco Dinner ($29.95), which contained shrimp, crab meat, chicken breast, cream sauce, tomatoes, avocado, and cheese, served with tortillas. He loved it. I ordered the Seafood Fundido ($28.50), which is a deep-fried specialty made up of shrimp and crabmeat, jalapeño cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and pico. Naughty, but so good!! I wish we would have been able to try their margaritas, as I'm sure they're amazing.
