My husband and I were in New York for a wedding and decided to get brunch. Our hotel was a little out of the way and we couldn't get up on time for breakfast after driving all night and going to bed after 5 AM. Anywho, I found Bella's on yelp and we decided to give it a try since it had not terrible reviews. Big mistake. I had the "healthy" omelet which was dry and had a nasty aftertaste. He had the spinach and detail omelet, which he says was ok. To make matters worse, the waitress at the takeout counter was quite possibly the rudest service person I have ever encountered. She was rude to me and her coworkers, all with other customers looking on uncomfortably. Make this your local casual diner! Bella's has been around for years. The food is straightforward, delicious, and filling. The staff are very kind; the service is prompt. And this is where the locals go - if you go more than once you'll likely see a familiar face. We usually eat here for brunch. Try the garden omelette with mozzarella cheese. Home fries are tasty - crisp but not too crisp! The berry challah has not only berries but cream cheese and whipped cream! And if you are a fan of chocolate drizzle - go ahead! Great food with great friends- we went there about three weeks ago and had a great time. The handmade pasta and fish special were phenomenal. Michelle the manager came over and was very warm and friendly. Definitely a must stop of True Italian food lovers. Only thing better would be to have this food in Grand Cayman! This greasy spoon diner has been a staple in Tarrytown forever. Most weekday mornings it is full of local old timers hanging out enjoying mediocre coffee. They do a solid, if unimaginative breakfast. I have heard they do good takeout for lunch too. The decor is a million years old with dark paneling and nasty faux stucco walls. Best diner around. Great food, good size portions, really friendly staff, very good prices. Great burgers and fries and chicken wedges....also has a pretty solid breakfast menu where you'll get plenty of food. I must've ate about 5 pounds of pancakes there one morning. We got there around 9am on a Sunday before a Lyndhurst Castle tour. There were no open tables, so we ate at the bar with our daughter. We ordered the Challah bread French Toast. The food was delicious. Many locals come to this restaurant. They all seemed very close, like a family. I will come back here next time I'm in town. read more

You can tell that this place is really popular by how stuffed this place gets in the morning. We visited this place on our little weekend trip and was a very quaint place to have breakfast. My wife tells me the muffin she had was a little stale but I feel the overall meal was great. My eggs and hash brown were cooked perfectly. The toast was not burnt so I could not ask for more. I am a frequenter at Bella's. I am always greeted promptly and have never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a table, even on a busy Saturday morning. I have only come here for breakfast but I have to say it is divine. It is one of the best breakfasts in the area. I always order the omelettes in a variety of combinations. ie: tomato-cheddar, spinach-feta, western. Every time it is made to perfection. They always make it to my liking, which is surprising because I am very picky. Their home fries are amazing and definitely something not to miss. I always substitute the toast for a bagel. Not sure if they make the bagels in house but I love how fluffy they are. You have to get there early to get the popular kinds like 'everything' or they run out. I have tasted other items on the menu and have never been dissapointed. But definitely try their omlettes. The coffee is so so, but it'll do. The food though is perfect and the portions never leave you hungry. You can definitely consider Bella's as the place where locals eat. Don't come here expecting to have fancy decor, with shiny new silverware. This is a typical diner, and almost a flashback to the 50's. However the looks of it should not deter the fellow passerbyer. Last time I went they took credit, but had a limit. However, before I always remembered them being cash only. Maybe the policy changed. Give Bella's a try, you will be glad you did. read more

We were 6ppl total, we sat in their biggest booth but was cramped in. Def not for groups or big families. Lol. Ordered breakfast/lunch (brunch options not great) & told them we had a good allergy to pork. Was told most of everything is cooked together on grill & they do not do any accommodations for anyone with allergy. So be aware! Waitress was frazzled & confused. Kept mixing up our custom omelet order & other food items. She was too much in a rush I think. Food was good. Nothing to go crazy. Standard diner-style. We may not be in a rush to come here again. Went in with my husband @ 10:15 am following a drs appointment. There was no line, breakfast rush was over but staff made us wait even though a table was available because they wanted us at a small table. There were already couples sitting at tables similar to the one we were refused. We've been here before and food is good but I would lose self-respect if I gave them future business. read more
