Really wish I never came here. That's how terrible this location truly was. We walked in here expecting good food but sadly they couldn't deliver at all. The service was weak. We waited 20 mins asking for a bill that never came so we payed at cashier box. Maybe that's what we were supposed to do. My omelet was way overcooked and my ingredients were under cooked. How can you mess up a omelette. My sausage was billed at close to $5 for 2 pieces of burnt sausage which I tried to send back but my waitress was M.i.a all throughout the meal. We ordered 3 orders of waffles/pancakes and only got 2 syrups and 3 butters. Again completely ignored. The food was terrible and the prices and service didn't make up for it at all. Also my husbands sandwich was terrible $8 for a bacon egg and cheese with only 1 egg. And oversized buns . PLease no one come to this sad excuse of a Greek diner with terrible service and expensive prices. read more

This establishment does not cater to new customers. It is a stop where the wait staff will bend over backwards for the locals (regulars) while ignoring or rudely interacting with its new customers. I've been here a few times and each time the food was barely mediocre. I could have whipped up the dishes I ordered myself and saved a chunk of change as well. Every aspect of the experience was painfully slow. I assume this is because I am not a regular customer. I would sit down at a booth and have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for a menu. Took even longer for my order to be taken and longer still for my food and check. I stopped going to bellas after I got food poisoning the 3rd time. When I talked to my friends about it, two of them confirmed that they also got food poisoning from bellas a month or so before me. STAY CLEAR! Stay home and make your own food. You won't get looks of disdain from an aloof wait staff, you won't experience racism (if you are black) and you won't waste your money on an overall mediocre experience. Small Cute diner in the heart of tarrytown. Has a small town charm about it - seems to be filled with regulars, friendly, personable staff, and a quirky (albeit charming) environment. Everything about the place had a unique touch to it including the food. We ordered two sunnyside up eggs (made just as we requested), some pretty damn good toast, decent homefries, and absolutely PHENOMENAL Chocolate chip pancakes. I've been eating and making and consuming chocholate chip pancakes since I first discovered that there was such a thing (I think I was 6? at the time). And these are some of the best. I have had. Ever. they have some chips that are mixed into the better/pancake and then brilliantly sprinkle some more chips on top of the pancakes. mmmmmmmmmmm gooood. eating them really brought out the kid in me. and on top of all that? This place is a hole in the wall spot but was absolutely amazing. The staff is frendly, they are efficient regardless of how busy it is. The coffee is delicious which made me happy and the portions were huge. The food was delicious and fresh. I got a broccoli and cheddar omelet with a side of bacon. It was so good, not over cooked but not runny. I've been to places like this where you feel pressured to eat fast and leave. I never felt like I was taking too long. This is my default greasy-spoon for hangovers. It has a great family run vibe, vintage nicotine yellowing, and no nonsense, good old short order breakfast. It has no pretentions or surprises. Breakfast on our way to Sleepy Hollow. We had bagels, bacon and fried eggs and it was perfect. It's an old diner type place with a counter and tables. Need some new paint but that kind of adds to the authenticity :) Good service and good prices. Fresh bagels and nice bacon. Went to Bellas for brunch while visiting Tarrytown last weekend. Very much liked my Belgian waffle with strawberries, side of sausage and hot tea. They did not skimp on the sausage, I got a plate of four so shared with my friends to their delight. I was asked how I wanted my sausage cooked and we were also brought our menus and food quickly. However, two of my friends were from NYC and maybe a little louder than that place is used to, especially on a Sunday morning. One of the customers actually got up and asked us to be more quiet, even though we were just having a civil conversation. We did tone it down, but got nasty looks the entire time we were there from who I am assuming are "regulars". So, from this I am guessing they are not loving out-of-towners. Stopped in for a quiet weekday dinner. Ordered buffalo wings (medium), chicken fingers, fries, and the egg salad platter. The egg salad platter came with potato salad, cole slaw, tomatoes, and not a heck of a lot of seasoning. Cole slaw was surprisingly good but I wish they had put as much effort in to the egg salad. I really wanted to like this place. House-sitting for a friend this week, I was looking to have a nice breakfast this morning at a local place. My trusty Yelp iPhone app pointed me here, and after reading the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. I was seated promptly in a small booth and greeted warmly. The silverware and napkin were both dirty, but easily replaced. I ordered a canadian bacon, avocado, and tomato omelet and a hot tea. The food was fair, nothing to rave about. Home fries were... well, average home fries. After taking a couple of bites out of my omelet, I headed off to the rest room and came back to my table having been cleared. After asking my waitress and the manager what happened, and having to explain how much I had (or had not) eaten. The manager put another order in for me. Sadly, the "new" order of the omelet had egg shells in every other bite... I finished off what I could. Then waited 15 minutes for the check. It is a cute and quaint spot... and perhaps they were having a bad day. But... for me, it was nothing special. read more

We had a fabulous breakfast here! We didn't wait long for a table, the service was very quick, the servers were friendly, and the food was great! I had the bacon and cheese omelette and enjoyed it. I wish the potatoes were cooked a little bit more and wish the serving of potatoes was a little bigger. My boyfriend had the corned beef hash and loved it. Only reason why I havent rated this a 5 is because I havent really tried anything but a few wraps, a cheesesteak, and traditional breakfast (all of which are incredible.) If you want a pretentious, health food ridden menu, check out Sweetgrass around the corner, this place isnt for you. However, for an old fashioned, home cooked meal, Bellas is great. I've come here a bunch now, and have brought guests as well...not one complaint. Two Eggs overeasy with sausage, homefries, and rye toast...has never sounded so good before. Bellas changed that. Amazing, amazing, amazing breakfast/sandwiches. Should probably try some of their dinner choices, I'm sure they wont disappoint. The only thing I can see being an issue at certain times a day and certain times a year is parking. The worst place ever! The food is decent but it's grimy and nasty atmosphere. The waitresses are old, ugly, unfriendly. Their collective one tooth smiles do not make you feel welcomed. Recently I walked in and no one acknowledged me for a while. Then 2 other people came in and while my husband was about to enter the restaurant they gave the table to the 2 people after me even though I was there first and told them he was walking in now. Dining at Bella's is very black and white. Bella's is under new management and they are not friendly to customers of color. I sat at the counter ( which was full) and had to beg for a menu.. beg for a set up, ask to have my dishes removed while all the customers around me had all of these done without asking. This was my second visit. The waitress would not make eye contact nor would the bus boy. when I approached the owner/ manager he said " So what".. I felt like I was at a lunch counter in Selma Alabama in the 50's . You wanna eat here that's your choice but I wouldn't support this attitude. This is no reflection on Tarrytown .. this is the only place in the 15 yrs I've lived in this town that I've experienced this. Let me please dispel the misconceptions that are fertilized by the reviews of this place. This is a diner. Not even a nice diner. It's a rather dirty diner. The service is nothing special and the menu is limited and bland. Diner coffee. Diner food. Diner service. DINER. And not a good one. This is not a quaint brunch spot. The potatoes are drowning in seasoned salt (MSG and paprika). The pancakes are library paste. Everything comes from the freezer or out of a can. I love bellas!! I almost always get breakfast when I come here but last week I went lunch and had their mushroom burger and I thought I died and went to heaven. How often can you order a burger medium rare and it comes out medium rare?? So many places struggle with this.. I don't know maybe it's an ethical thing but bellas hit the nail on the head once again. The burger was big and juicy and topped in mushrooms yum! We also got banana pancakes, don't get these! They were mushy. They didn't bring us butter or syrup, we had to ask for it. I also asked for sweetener and they left me two on the counter one which was used. Not coming here again! Sadly the other diners in the area didn't look so great.
