A fantastic mom-and-pop Korean restaurant where things are still homemade, sushi as cucumber kimchi, even their gochujang! Yummmm! Unlike other places that through food together, the food here not only looks good but tastes good. Table service is attentive and caring. L The framed photographic art is from the same photographer and all themed toward flowers and hummingbirds. Tea pots and curios are quaint. Overall, the kitchen and dining room look clean and homey.

Quick service, attentive waitstaff. The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. Wish the corned beef sandwich had something more than just bread and meat. The bibimbap was tasty, however felt as though the variety of veggies was lacking.

So, you can't decide between diner comfort food or Korean? Why not both? Bell's Diner is a mom-and-pop diner that serves typical diner fare with the added bonus of Korean dishes, which are quite good. Choices abound on the menu and the portions are generous. The food was great, service was friendly, and what a great way to support the community by dining at a family-owned business.

OVERALL We came in on a Sunday morning for a brunch and were quickly seated in a booth. It's reasonably-priced, quick service, and a very cute ambiance for those looking for your classic American diner or a diner with a Korean twist. It's truly a best of both worlds. Would definitely return! FOOD This is a unique Korean-American breakfast diner spot with an array of classic American breakfast fare and typical Korean entrees. Of course, there's options for fusion twists (e.g., bulgogi omelet or a bulgogi hoagie). We ordered and very much enjoyed the bibimbop and the bulgogi hoagie and burger. It was a decent amount of food and hit our brunch needs. The bibimbop was a great addition that's a rare find around here for breakfast at a diner. The flavors were good and there was a decent portion of vegetables and meat.... I ordered eggs over easy but didn't exactly get that and I expected the rice to be less wet. Otherwise, it was delicious! AMBIANCE It was relatively quiet and parking was simple! The dining area reminds me very much of an old home-y diner with meditative bird and nature sounds in the background. SERVICE We were offered water immediately and our orders were taken quickly. This spot offers a discount if you pay in cash and the restrooms are in the back kitchen where the cooking is done.

I ordered bulgogi but I am pretty sure they gave me pepper steak, because it was in a pepper sauce and had green peppers. The quality was good but it was not exactly bulgogi, whether the order was technically wrong or not. Too spicy for me and bulgogi is not spicy at all. I am not sure why the bulgogi on the menu says it comes with vegetables, but the pepper steak clearly details everything it comes with. There are also 2 slightly different bulgogis on the menu, so I would imagine that can cause confusion when ordering. I did an online order for bulgogi and apple pie. They were out of pie. She said she would refund me in cash. Ok, but the tax was not refunded. Seems odd. I am sure there is a way to do a partial refund in the online order system. You cannot keep the tax on items you did not give out. I had also changed my order online and the note I made before did not disappear. So, they called and asked about the note and mentioned the pie and said they would not make the order until I called. Nothing prevented them from making the order. If I wanted to call, I would not have done an online order, and I was driving and had a busy day. I wanted it to be ready by a specific time and this held things up. I get the message that says the order is ready. I go in and she says 10 minutes. I tell them I got the email. She repeats what she said. Ok. They misplaced the order but did not tell me that. Customers appreciate honesty and not just telling them to wait with no explanation. Someone had placed the order on a table at the front and she did not know. She found it right away and gave it to me.

Beef Bulgogi -- a 10/10! Delicious flavor and generous enough portion for 2 full meals

More than 4 years after my last review, Bell's remains a solid choice. I visited recently for lunch, and my husband and I were able to be seated immediately. After perusing the menu, he decided on the Bibimbap, and I decided on the Jopchae beef. Our food was quickly delivered to the table, and we dug in. The portion was more than generous, and I took half of it home to have a second meal later. We paid in cash for a slight discount on our total check, before we headed out. It was a great spot to grab lunch and just as good as I remembered!

A place where you can order Korean food and onion rings? And pancakes? Consider me an immediate fan of Bell's Diner. The food we ordered was incredible and the portion sizes were generous. The service was friendly and efficient. The prices were reasonable. The spicy pork made for incredible leftovers. Consider us fans AND new regulars.

Delicious! The food is priced at 16.99 but is worth it the portion sizes aren't bad and the taste is nice

Thankfully my husband found a spot right on the street! I chose KBBQ for my birthday dinner and my husband found this place. They have a good variety of side dishes (pumpkin, mashed potato, spicy fish cakes, etc)! The food was good and we liked the meat! The brisket wasn't too thin and the steak was delish!! This place is aligned fairly well though with food in Korea though ie not highly westernized. This place is in the center of the college area on Liberty and State street. The selection is not extensive but the basics are here including BBQ. Side dishes are decent, Kimchi, which is fundamental to any Korean meal and varies by region, is always included and people have strong opinions about. Theirs is OK but not top notch. Other side dishes are decent. Whatever we ordered, BBQ, Yuk Gae Jang, Dol Sot Bi Bim Bap (Rice. Vegetables and beef inn stone pot), other was pretty good.....just like Seoul Garden used to be before ownership change. We used to go almost exclusively to Seoul Garden near the mall off Boardwalk but after ownership change stopped as the taste changed significantly and not for the better. Its nice to have The Seoul is an option. They have beer and soju (Ubiquitous Korean liquor in Korea that along with Kimchi is many Koreans blood) Environment of the restaurant is modern but still a bit cozy. Overall, definitely worth a try. While we are at it, I have spent allot of time in Japan on business (some vacationing too) and I know it's trendy to go there now especially with the exchange rate, and by all means go, allot to see and experience (and eat!) there. But don't overlook Korea. The two countries have a torrid history and don't want to admit they are similar in many ways....but they are and Korea is loaded with great places to go and food to eat. Traveling can be done on any budget, feel free to reach out if you want to learn more. Also love to hear from experienced travelers, love to learn of new places and things to do.

We met up for lunch recently and had a great experience. Nate and I first went into the wrong restaurant - they also have a more casual noodle spot next door, so be sure you know where you're meeting/going! We hadn't figured out if we wanted to do Korean BBQ or not when we first arrived, but we ended up choosing from the lunch specials/combos menu which was a great value. Plus I can never decide what I want, so it was great to be able to get a combo with two different options. I went with the bulgogi/nengmyun combo and we also got an order of mandoo to share. Our server was super patient and helpful with navigating the menu. The food came out quickly and everything was pretty tasty - I loved the mandoo (dumplings) - they were big and filled nicely. The nengmyun was good, not the best version of this dish that I've had, but it's hard to find in my city so I was happy to have theirs. I loved the spicy pork bulgogi; super flavorful and not too spicy. Nate got the sundubu stew which was delicious and quite spicy! The portions were large, especially for the price. I always forget how great it is eating in college towns - things can be way cheaper! Parking here is a bit tricky as it is anywhere downtown, but we lucked out with a street meter nearby. I will definitely be back to Tomukun in the future.

The portions are also smaller, now coming in three small bites rather than the two big bites from before. The gochujang rigatoni and kimchi paella are also unavailable. Some new dishes I tried and loved were the short rib and the grilled octopus. The octopus was incredibly tender and I couldn't stop eating it! It also comes with delicious potatoes. The short rib was a larger portion and also tasted delicious. The rest of my table ordered the miso cod. It was restaurant weekend in downtown Ann Arbor and we didn't have a reservation, so we obliged, although the space was pretty empty. Once we got to the bar, the young waitress slammed menus down in front of us and acted extremely annoyed by our presence. After bothering us every minute for the next 5 minutes to order, me and my friend put in our orders in haste. We then waited for 30 minutes for our meals to arrive. I got the "Amazing Shrimp" sushi roll and my friend got the "Grilled Angus Short Rib". As noted on the menu it comes with Mashed Potatoes, Shishito Peppers, and Garlic Chives. Per my friend's request, the order did not come with the Shishito Peppers or Garlic Chives, but it also didn't have the potatoes. After asking for the potatoes, our server went back and we could hear her yelling at the kitchen staff. Minutes later she came out with a bowl of 3 potatoes, not mashed and not hot. My roll was great and I'd definitely order again if I come back, but I'm honestly not too inclined to after this experience. Lastly, the restaurant itself was freezing. It was a cold day but it was way colder inside than it should've been. We ended up keeping our coats on for most of dinner. I really do want to like it here because the vibe seemed very modern and clean, however the service, food, and level of professionalism fell short of my expectations.
