This restaurant has been around for 90 years and I drive by it all the time - so I wanted to give it a try. My two sons and I were greeted by the hostess as soon as we entered. I love the old school vibe that includes photos on the walls (that actually have some meaning to them) and aren't just part of the decor. The servers were prompt and friendly. We had the fried ravioli, garlic bread, and calamari appetizers...all of which were gone in about five minutes. For our entrees we had a couple of penne vodkas and a manicotti bolognese...and we all agreed that we'd get them again - which is the ultimate way to rate your meal. I would have stayed for the tartufo but we were all too full at that point. Now a word of warning...this is not the place for you if you're looking for a Michelin rated Manhattan type restaurant. The booths have formica tabletops, the menus may have a spot of red sauce on them, and the wine glasses could be run through the dishwasher one more time before being given to customers. But if you're looking for good food, good service, in a place your grandfather could have eaten at when he was a kid, then Belluscio's is it. We'll be back soon. read more

Took one of my girlfriends to dinner here after I received a gift certificate from a raffle and was pleasantly surprised with the service and food. We both had a glass of wine which was amazing and the garlic bread to start. For dinner, she had the shrimp scampi and I had the chicken franco with a side of broccoli. Both were huge portions and delicious. The waitress was very receptive to my requests as well. For dessert she had the apple pie and ice cream and I had the tartufo which had cherries and almonds in the middle- was fabulous. The service was great and the food came out quickly and was delicious. It was a bit pricey, but for the portions it was worth it. The inside and outside of this place is definitely divey- but good for an italian dinner with a friend or a casual night out. read more

First time patron, but will return. Clearly a local icon with good food, and friendly staff. Frank, the owner couldn't have been nicer! if you are interested in designer decor and medocre food, this place is not for you.Old school ambiance and home cooking is what you will find here. LOVE LOVE LOVE. This restaurant is a throwback! It's a classic! Literally it's been around and family-owned since it opened in the 1930's... comfy old early 1900's decor , tasty and authentic dishes and the Belluscio family and staff really make you feel like your among family. Its really just so simple with no frills or pretension. Ever since I found it I am here once a week, or more. Try the Veal Saltimboca... They're new to the social media scene so you wouldn't know they were here unless you know someone who lives in Rye or someone else who has been here as its on a residential street off the Post Rd/Rt 1. Delicious old school Italian. Our go-to restaurant to be with our family on all special days.

The calamari was excellent, paired with a nice Chianti. The calamari was small and refined, not like the car tires you are served at other restaurants. This was the to-go restaurant with my folks when they were still living. I truly miss it and want to go back from my NC home. read more

During this pandemic, I have been unable to get to Belluscio's since January and I miss it every week. I have been going to Frank's place for nearly forty years and it is my favorite restaurant. When in Rye, where I lived for over 30 years, I went there every week, often more. I love the food, the ambience, and the people. My family has been coming here for years... for us, it's the definition of Italian comfort food. The stuffed clams, house salad with blue cheese and lasagna with meat sauce are wonderful. Frank, the owner, and most of the waitresses have been here forever, too. Drinks are stiff and reasonably priced, and the house wines are better than most. A classy throwback, it's Westchester without pretension. A place where the 1% and the other 99% eat and relax. Hope it NEVER changes! read more

I have been going here for Italian food and take out since I was a kid growing up in Rye. We love the food and the great relaxed vibe. It's all about personality, charm and great food, not to mention pictures of Rye dating back about 100 years. Best menu items for me have always been penne a la vodka and the chicken franchise. Gotta have some garlic bread of course. I recommend eating at the bar and hanging with Frank the owner. read more

Went there valentines night ! With the wife . Have been there before it's a oasis ! A small rest! I new Frank and his sister was our server! Food excellent ! I had the veal pharm-the wife had chicken Marsalis ! One! Flaw! The food came out Luke warm! Not as hot as it should have been! Other wise a great down to earth Italian rest. I don't know what happened to the review I wrote a while ago.... THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!! Those who raved about it either are friends/family of the owners, or they were paid to write such LIES. I went there with a friend about 2 years ago...and I was just appalled by how terrible the kind of food they brought out: My friend ordered a pasta with spinach and sausage of some sort, and they brought out this dish of pasta with BROWN spinach leaves, yes, Brown...they are so clueless with how to make a tossed pasta dish, they over-cooked it so badly.. read more

This is a cool old place with a lot of history, character and friendly service but the food is not so great and the seating is very uncomfortable. I tried the tomato and onion salad, which was mushy, not so fresh and over-saturated with dressing. The veal picatta was pretty good, but the pasta that came on the side was over-cooked and the sauce was watery and flavorless. I tried another pasta dish which was better than the side order I got, but not spectacular. Someone else tried the eggplant parmigiana and thought it was fine but nothing exceptional. There are better choices in the area, I don't think I'll rush back. read more

We called to make sure they had high chairs for our children and they said they would hold 2 chairs for us. When we arrived 20 minutes later, they didn't have any available and offered us 1 booster seat without a safety belt. They did not apologize and didn't care that we walked out. I know everyone is boasting about its long history and being family owned. That's nice but this place is very expensive for mediocre food. I have eaten better pizza out of a freezer box. The pasta was over cooked and sitting in a pool of oil. The high priced meat and chops are cooked well done to oblivion and tough. They don't even have good dressing for their salad, and what could you do to salad? Perhaps it's time this restaurant hangs up its pots. With all the excellent bistros and restaurants in the town, why spend so much money for a sub par meal? read more

when I stood in front of this restaurant, I thought to myself, oh, no, cheap prefab building...but since I went with a friend, I had to give it a try and I WISH I HAD TURNED AROUND AND ATE SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! This place shouldn't be called a restaurant, let alone an "Italian Restaurant" because whoever that works in the kitchen has NO BUSINESS cooking for a living... From the quality of food to wait staff to the decor, The whole place reeked " trailer park" and I truly, truly don't understand why anyone with any sense would "Love" this dingy dump and the garbage they bring out, except maybe they are related or have business interest for this place....because EVERY SINGLE ONE of these praises are LIES, LIES!!!! My friend ordered some pasta with spinach, and the few leaves that were put in the dish were all BROWN.... I ordered mistakenly a pasta dish with broccoli and the pasta came with water in the bottom of the plate...and there's NOTHING in the pasta but plain pasta and blanched broccoli florets, NO Seasoning, NO sauce, Not even salt and pepper.... I wanted to give this place a try mainly because of the positive reviews I read on this page and I I was hoping to come to a cozy, not so pretentious and not so outrageously over-priced place that has really good homecooking, BOY WAS I WRONG!!!! From the look and taste of look of everything we ordered, the pastas were from some last stand food pantry, the greens probably the reject from legit supermarkets, and desserts from out of date cake mix they found at some thrift store...
