We paid over $4K to have Ben Hur pack and move us. You can see for yourself in pictures how they left our house. 1. They came at 8:30, left at 5:30pm, didn't finish the packing job- one guy was in our kitchen ALL day, and didn't finish even the kitchen! For NINE hours! 2. They left a mess: bubble wrap, boxes, wrapping paper thrown all over the place. 3. They didn't wrap our baby's crib or crib mattress. The crib was damaged. 4. They ran out of their supplies and I had to go buy more boxes and bring them myself to the job. 5. They damaged our driveway trying to get their truck up it to leave the boxes in the garage 6. After we complained that the job was unfinished and our house left a mess, they said it was more work than expected and offered to refund us $170 after we paid $4300. Ummm. 7. The were unprepared and sent 4 guys (too few I guess) and blamed me for that. I'm not a moving expert. I answered the questions they asked, they decided who to send. Our house was 3,000 SF 8. I had to hire movers the next day to finish the job. AND later that week to get our stuff out of storage bc that's where Ben Hur ended up taking our stuff when they couldn't get their truck up our driveway. 8. The pros are that the guys were nice, and they helped us reposition two rugs and some couches within the home. (Hence 2 stars instead of one) 9. We hired Meathead Movers to finish the job and they were awesome. Highly recommend. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT hire Ben Hur. So many reasons but as an example: Ben Hur charged us 2.75 hours for the exact same job that Meathead did in 1:30. Horrible movers. Like most cross country movers they bid out the job. All my things came destroyed and wet. The company they bid to, the driver was on meth or something when he arrived. He got helpers from Craigslist who were very inappropriate around the females at our house. It was a very scary situation and even though I got insurance for the move it was a scam and the company ended up siding with the moving company. So lesson learned, I self move now and hire helpers on both ends. read more

I'm pretty disappointed with their explanation of why they wouldn't move my piano. I was told that the movers don't feel "comfortable" of moving a piano up the stairs front steps of my apartment, because it wouldn't fit. Two other companies that I quoted had no problem with moving the piano. Obviously, this company doesn't really want much business. We just had a successful move from North Hollywood to Rancho Mirage this past week. Morris and his crew arrived on time and packed our entire house and loaded everything onto the truck the first day and then arrived on time in the desert to unload our belongings the next day. We're not completely unpacked yet, but so far nothing was damaged during the move. We did have an issue with one of the hinges on the grand piano top not aligning completely for some reason but Morris was able to resolve that issue to our satisfaction. This was the first time I used professional movers and I would say the overall experience was great. The initial phone call helped me get clear with how many materials I would buy from them for certain items, if I would need to use blankets for the move and if my stuff would fit into their vaults. They also adapted to my schedule so that even though it was a last minute move, they fit me in. The movers were efficient with their time- they followed my direction of what room needed to be completed first, then they would check in to make sure I was satisfied with the quality and use of the materials when packing speciality items. Once we got to the storage unit, the two of them had a system down, so they were able to stack my items in a way that maximized the space I had, while make sure to keep each safe for long term storage. I inspected the truck after and everything was taken out. I was good to go!!! I highly recommend Ben Hur to make your next move an easy one. You are in great hands! read more
