Found this place on Yelp and saw all the good reviews so I figured why not try it. Honestly kinda disappointed. Service was super slow waited like 40 mins just for my 23-piece sashimi plate. The ikura itself took 30 minutes and it wasn't even fresh, I haven't had tasteless ikura like that in so long and the color wasn't bright red. The fish was just okay. Nothing special, kinda mid. We also got the tornado curry rice and that was a let down too. The curry was super watery and just didn't have much flavor at all. What really got me was the service. The place only had like 5 tables so I really don't get what the holdup was. Once they dropped off the last item, they never came back to check on us. Had to literally say "excuse me" like 3 times just to get more ginger and wasabi because the 2 ladies working wasn't paying attention at all. Overall, food was mid and service just wasn't it. Probably not coming back

One of the best creamy sea urchin udon pastas I've ever had. So creamy & delicious. I was a little sad that the portion was small because I probably could've ate 2 whole plates. So good. Even my toddler was obsessed! This restaurant is beautiful. The inside really stood out to me, the menus are beautiful as well. I also ordered the chicken gyoza, very crisp. Wish it came with some sort of sauce to enhance the flavors. The Takoyaki was really good! & the tornado curry omurice was very tasty! The curry was really good and flavorful.

The rainbow roll and baked salmon were absolutely perfect -- so fresh and full of flavor! Service was amazing, and the restaurant itself is super clean. My friend and I went around 5:30 PM and it wasn't busy at all, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere is so cute and really gives off a "little slice of Japan" vibe. Highly recommend! The Takoyaki was flavorful too!

Bengee Sushi does sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-style pastas, and the price-for-quality ratio is one of the best I've seen in SoCal. Had to get my typical order of a black dragon roll plus truffle salmon carpaccio, creamy uni udon, and the curry tornado omurice. Everything's priced SO well, and their deluxe 9-grid sashimi set is a *must-get*. You get 23 thicc pieces of fish for 68 bucks. The quality honestly matches that of an omakase. Now the uni udon is incredible, so creamy so delicious, and they also have a yakiudon version. It's more of a chill vibe here but the quality surprisingly surpasses a lot of other sushi spots out there. Thanks for reading! ^-^

Chino's hidden gem! Everyone go try Bengee Sushi! We were in Chino over the weekend for some board games and randomly searched for a lunch spot nearby. Ended up at Bengee Sushi and... wow. Completely exceeded expectations. I honestly didn't know Chino had such solid Japanese food We both ordered their Lunch Specials -- around $25 each, which is such a great deal. Since I'm not a big tempura person, we skipped the bento boxes and went straight for the good stuff. We got one Chirashi Bowl, and the moment it came out we were shocked. So much sashimi! Thick cuts, super fresh, and none of that fishy leftover-trim vibe. The sushi rice underneath was really good too -- not overly sweet or sour, just balanced. The other dish we ordered was the Sashimi Lunch, and again, super generous portion with way more variety than I expected. No shortcuts, no skimping. It also comes with miso soup and salad, both clean and tasty. We added hot tea, which hit the spot on a colder day. That feeling of "randomly picking a place and accidentally finding a great spot" is honestly unmatched They also offer a $79 omakase, plus a more premium $135 one (reservation required). After seeing how generous they are with their lunch portions, I'm definitely coming back for that next time. In short: amazing value. If you love sashimi and find yourself in Chino, this place is absolutely worth the visit.

8pc spicy salmon roll (4 on the side were my leftovers)

Honestly this place was one of my favorites when they first opened, but ever since they changed management, their service went down. There's this one female server (I think she's the only one) that has pretty bad attitude. I ordered 2 spicy salmon rolls (1 for here and 1 to-go) thinking it would just be a normal spicy salmon roll, but for some reason it came with tempura flakes crunched up inside. I don't like fried things so I was automatically taken aback at this new change. I immediately thought of the spicy salmon roll I ordered to-go and called the server over to modify it with no tempura flakes. She looked awkwardly over her shoulder at the sushi chef and said something in Chinese and told me "Oh it's already done." She had this judgemental weird look on her face and walked away. I felt like it would've been nice to at least try to accommodate my preferences. There was just no concern about my question and I felt disregarded. It made my whole experience here very disappointing and I lost my appetite. A few minutes later she brought my to-go order to me and I checked inside- there were 8pc total. I thought about it and decided that I wasn't going to make a big deal out of the whole tempura flake thing. I called the server over again to order another spicy salmon roll WITHOUT tempura flakes to-go. The server took my order and gave it to me shortly after. I checked the bag and saw 6pc of what looked like a soggy roll. I waited a bit before calling for the server again and asked her why this roll has 6pc and the previous roll has 8pc. She said something about it being 6pc since there are no tempura flakes and went to ask the sushi chef again. They spoke in Chinese again since it seemed like she was worried I would understand her (in fact, I do speak Chinese so yes I understood every word). She turned back to me and repeated the same reasoning a few more times. It really didn't make sense to me but I was tired of her attitude and the whole experience so I just nodded and said okay. On a side note, this server was SUPER nice to the table behind us (they spoke Chinese) and kept going over to recommend them dishes & sauces. For my table, she was very bland and uninterested in us. Our whole experience felt very weird and rushed. Bengee was great before the whole management change situation. I don't think I'll be returning.

Bengee Tornado Omurice - Main reason we came, I was craving a tornado omurice dish, but this place ups the level so much. The kimchi and pork belly inside gave it so much flavor that I couldn't help but eat scoop after scoop. Seafood Yakiudon - While the omurice was our main reason for coming, this dish was the winner for us. I couldn't help it when I saw the description and I'm a huge sucker for udon. I was not expecting the amount of flavors this had. They're also pretty generous about the amount of seafood added as well, really fair with the price. I've been wanting to go back hust for this. Bengee House Special Combo - If you're looking to add some rolls to your meal and you're going with one other person, this dish is a good choice because there's two of each kind of roll, so you're able to evenly split them. I'm not a fan of eel in general, but the salmon and shrimp nigiri with their different kind of sauces made a great impression on me. The staff here are very friendly and patient while you go through the menu. It was a bit hard to decide because everything just sounded so good. We need to come back so I can try more of their menu

Found this new sushi spot and they have such an amazing sushi set. Come with me! Highlights of the menu: 1. Bengee tornado omurice 2. Seafood fried udon 3. Deluxe omakase nigiri 4. Yellowtail carpaccio 5. Miso soup 6. Hot tea

I ordered a Chirashi bowl, and OMG it was amazing! You get so many kinds of sashimi in one bowl -- super fresh, tender, and silky. As a sashimi lover, I was so satisfied! We also got two rolls -- spicy salmon and spicy albacore -- both pretty good! Right now they have a lunch special: order any entrée and get a free miso soup and salad. Such a great deal!

We were in Chino and was excited to try out this sushi spot. There's a variety of specialty rolls you won't find anywhere else. Must get the Deluxe Nine Grid Omakase Sashimi The sashimi was good size for sharing. Friendly service and affordable prices too!

House Salad, at least what it was...lol

So I usually don't bother to leave a review unless the place is really good or really bad. So, this place, is really good. For food, the sashimi is fresh and the rice, oh bay, the rice might just be the best sushi rice I have ever had in the inland empire area. For the service, they are super friendly and kids friendly. They don't constantly bother you but just bring you whatever you need on the table, and in my case, the napkins, since I have two kids with me at the time. The place looks like recent remodeled, so it is clean and new. Overall, really nice place, I would definitely come again.

Hidden gem sushi spot! This could be your new go to sushi date night spot! Everything from appetizers to dessert was really good. The garlic chili edamame and miso soup was the perfect starter. The shrimp tempura and rainbow roll were perfect. Fresh fish, they don't overload the rice, & it was on point. Our waitress recommended the curry tornado omu rice & I'm so glad she did, even my toddler loved it!! I highly recommend Bengee Sushi!

Food was fine, but the service needs a lot of work…read more It was our first time coming here, so I had no idea how anything worked. When we first arrived, the front was completely disorganized, and there were no lines at all. People were just crowding around the hostess table, so I had no idea how to add my name to the waitlist. There were no signs that showed where the line starts, and no line was being formed at all. The hostess kept having to walk people to their table, so it was nearly impossible to grab her attention. When I did manage to do so, she was very rude and prioritized other people before us. She obviously saw us come in before other people, but ignored that fact and just added other people to the waitlist first. Ridiculous. Their waitlist system is through Yelp, which sends you a text when your table is ready. Based on the app, it said that our table wouldn't be ready for about 1.5 hours, so we decided to walk around the outlet in the meantime. After nearly 1.5 hours, I saw that we were 2nd in line and decided to have our family walk back to the restaurant. While we were waiting outside for me to receive the text, we heard the host call my name and say that our table was ready. We met with him, and I said that it was odd since I hadn't received the text yet. He said, "Oh no, the hostess told me about you guys. You said that your phone was dead, so you'd hang around the restaurant and wait for us to call your name." No. We never said that. They have us confused with a different party. This means that if I hadn't checked the waitlist regularly and had just waited for that text, it never would've come, and we never would've gotten seated. What a messy system. Also, I've never been to a seafood boil restaurant where we have to ask for the bibs. Normally, they're given to us right when we're seated, so it was weird. We noticed other people were given bibs right when they're seated, so we're not sure why this happened. Other Kickin' Crab locations also give you an entire bottle of ketchup, whereas this place only gives small plastic cups. Weird. I think the employees and other customers would agree with me when I say that the entire place is completely disorganized because multiple orders around us were being messed up. The table to our left was missing its piece of corn and sausage in its bag of shrimp, while the table to our right was missing crawfish in their bag. The workers were obviously trying their best to straighten things out, but it didn't seem to be working. The menu is consistent with their other locations, but the market prices are a bit higher than what we're used to. Compared to the location that we always go to, this place offers bigger frozen crawfish, but the bags were mainly just the claws, so it seemed like a big ripoff. * Cajun Fries: 8/10 - nice cook, but there was only cajun seasoning on the top * Shrimp (Head-On): 9/10 - good flavor * Crawfish (Frozen): 6/10 - big crawfish, but the bag was mostly just claws and not enough garlic The place is located at the Shoppes of Chino Hills outlet, so parking is relatively easy. After being seated, the servers were nice, but it was difficult to enjoy the experience because of everything that had already happened. Overall, the service was a huge letdown, and we did not feel comfortable eating here. Places like this are why tipping is optional. The workers at the Kickin' Crab location we usually go to are way more laidback and friendlier, yet still maintain impeccable service. Would not return.

I'll start with the good, which was the service; I found our server to be very nice, attentive, and helpful with giving us recommendations throughout the night. However, I felt the food was very expensive for what we received, the portion sizes were not very big, and the overall quality was just not good. I noticed the flavors were mostly just salty and spicy, to the point where I couldn't really taste the intrinsic flavor of the seafood itself. I ordered the mixed seafood cocktail, but it had mostly lemon juice and tasted much more like a ceviche than a traditional cocktail. HOUSE PAN ROAST It tasted exactly what was expected. A creamy tomato soup consistency and flavor. Got level 2 or 3 for spice level. I wanted more of that creamy flavor, not spice. Any higher than 3 would be Tabasco level spice and up. Deliciously filled with shrimp, chopped scallops, small crab meat. I could taste the crab meat, which was all sitting at the bottom of the bowl. The scoop of jasmine rice with the creamy pan roast was comfort on another level. Got the small size, but it is enough for me. I do wish there were more shrimp and scallops and crab in the pan roast. I felt the scallops and crab were chopped too small and wished there was a bit more. But still I enjoyed the pan roast and would get it again. As an appetizer and accompaniment to the house pan roast, they bring a basket with three sliced breads and a side of butter. It's a light, soft bread with a bit of sour flavor. Didn't like it. I would have preferred dinner rolls. CUSTOMER SERVICE I arrived 1 hr before lunch closing time. It closes at 2:00pm and then re-opens for dinner at 5:00pm. But service was good! If your staff wanted to add chicken to an item that should be seafood only, perhaps they should have asked if I was okay with that. After communicating with your employee about my concerns, I realized that the mistake on the food was secondary compared to the horrendous service I experienced when I shared my concerns. In your reply, you failed to mention anything regarding customer service that I mentioned, so let me say these facts again. I was hung up on several times over the phone, ignored multiple times when I showed up in person the next day, pressured to sign a claims release in order to get the refund, then was told I was an inconvenience to your business. Another fact is I lost my appetite after tasting your food yet was essentially called a liar when I came in the next day because I didn't appear sick to your employee. I cannot believe that is how your employee was allowed to treat a customer and I honestly hope you had a serious conversation with them. For the record, I was signed out of my main account for several months and did leave a review on a temporary account. Once I gained access to my main account, the review on my temporary account got deleted because that account got deleted. I operate on only one account and needed to re-write any reviews that got deleted. Looks like someone reported my review for your business, so I did revise it to better follow yelp's guidelines. Therefore, it is absolutely not an exact duplicate of the previous review. The real impact here is not only the loss of appetite, but also how I was treated after I raised concerns. It really was one of the most horrendous experience with restaurant staff and its sad that I will never feel comfortable to step inside your restaurant again.
