We actually left our car keys on the table & forgot them, he walked out and gave them back which was nice of him. Ambiance: It's a small, intimate setting with 4 large tables and 2 small ones. There was 1 other party besides us and we could hear their entire conversation, so not the best place to spill tea unless you want everybody to hear. Nice decorations. It was very clean. Food: Everything was solid. I like that they have a variety of rolls, and do not just offer only California rolls with different toppings. Takoyaki - 4/5 Good, but mostly breading. Needed more octopus. Premium oyster with uni & ikura - 5/5 the oysters were small but very tasty. The ikura was a good texture/flavor (not hard and not too salty). The oyster with uni & ikura was flavorful & delicious. Toro sushi - 5/5 Melt in your mouth delicious. I could've done without the wasabi on top that came with it. Uni sushi - 5/5 Splendid. Ninja Roll - 4/5 My mom enjoyed the roll but said the sauce was too sour. She'd get the sauce on the side next time. Ocean Roll - 5/5 Fresh, good with or without soy sauce. Creamy Sea Urchin Udon - 5/5 Noodles were cooked well and flavorful; they were cheesy, but not too much. The sea urchin tasted good with the noodles. Could've used more sea urchin; I had leftover noodles without sea urchin, but since it is a more expensive protein, it's understandable there's not a gigantic blob of it on there. (But, that would be nice lol.) Unagi bowl (to go) - 5/5 I ate this for lunch at work 2-3 days later and it was very good. I'm very particular about sauce & food not being dry or too soggy; there was a perfect amount of sauce. The eel was tender. I liked the consistency of the egg. It wasn't dry even after heating it up in the microwave. Bengee tornado omurice to go - This was my mom's to-go dish; sadly it did not last 2-3 days in the fridge. She said even if this dish was not spoiled she wouldn't have enjoyed it. Parking: Located in a shopping center with a Stater Bros, Del Taco and Popeyes. Don't enter or park by the drive thrus.

Decent sushi closest to the Ontario convention center. Saw they close between 3-5pm so you know it's authentic. Came in for a late lunch around 2ish and all the tables were taken except 2 larger party tables so we were at the closest 2 person table by the door. Parking in the strip mall was convenient and stress-free. Server mentioned nothing about the specials on the board we didn't see until after ordering. I asked if the green tea was loose leaf of teabags and she said teabag so I opted for just a coke, which she served as a can and nothing else. Had to ask for a cup of ice. Rolls were decent. I like unagi so opted for black dragon and he chose the baked crawfish roll. Both were good. Would come back, but only when I'm in the area. Solid food but nothing transcendent. Once rolls were served to us that's the last time we saw our server until it was time to pay.

My husband and I were heading out to Temecula to do some wine tasting, and we wanted to have lunch first. I went on yelp and searched for Japanese restaurants. After seeing that this restaurant had 4-1/2 stars and reading several reviews, we decided to stop here. It was absolutely freezing cold in the restaurant. Even after we put jackets on, we were still cold. My husband asked the server if he could turn down the A/C. He did so reluctantly. I ordered the Veggie Tempura and California Roll. My husband ordered the Noodle Lunch Set. Before ordering, he asked the server to describe the Seafood Yakiudon. He explained that it was seafood with stir-fried udon noodles. It sounded good, so he ordered it. My California Roll was good. The tempura was okay. It was a bit greasy and not light and crispy. My husband's noodles were terrible! It was a plate of white noodles (that looked undercooked) with three mussels on top. My husband loves seafood, but he hates mussels. Had the server told him that it was noodles with mussels, he never would've ordered it. He expected a variety of seafood, especially at that price. He barely ate any of his lunch. I tasted the noodles, and they were bland and not good at all. When the server cleared the table, he had to notice that my husband barely touched his lunch, yet he didn't even inquire if anything was wrong. His lunch was $21.95, which was WAY overpriced! As we were leaving, my husband went up to the server (Marcus) and told him that he wished he had explained the dish better so he could've ordered something else. Marcus didn't apologize and, in fact, had attitude. We will NEVER eat at this restaurant again! Perhaps he just ordered the wrong item, but it was terrible. We had to stop somewhere else after we left since he was still hungry. All in all, it was a really bad experience!

Ordered the Albacore carpaccio, golden tiger roll, & bengee house combo. The food was delicious and presented nicely. Our waitress was so sweet and kind making recommendations and helping us with the menu. The ambiance inside is really nice as well. Don't let the outside fool you. It is perfect for a date or quick bite in. Highly recommend for good food & sushi. Definitely a new experience.

We were greeted and seated, we were freezing because we had just finished a hike/swimming in the river. The hostess gladly moved us. Then we noticed she modified the AC for us and she brought us miso soup without us even asking for it. Our food was served shortly after we ordered and everything was delicious. We didn't get any photos inside because we weren't planning a review but the service was just amazing and this had to be written. Also, the music was great! Thank you so much for a pleasant experience!

We were craving ramen while running errands in Ontario and came across Bengee on Yelp. It's a small, cozy spot tucked into an unassuming strip mall. They open for lunch, close for a few hours, then reopen for dinner--we managed to catch them during a late lunch. The service was great, and our server was friendly and chatted with us, that they have locations in Jurupa Valley and Chino which is good to know because we are always in those areas. What we ordered: * Golden Soft Shell Crab - Fried perfectly and very satisfying. * Bengee Tornado Omurice - Served with kimchi rice. It's a fun twist on traditional omurice (no gravy), beautifully presented and delicious. * Tonkatsu Ramen - A generous portion. It was just okay for me since I prefer black garlic tonkatsu, but my daughter really enjoyed it. * Rainbow Roll - Fresh and tasty. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Coming from Orange County where there's tons of good sushi, I was impressed with both the menu and quality of the sushi at Bengee Sushi! They have a large menu and the favorite things I ate were: -Hokkaido Scallop Uni Spoon -Creamy Sea Urchin Udon Pasta -Veggie Tempura (I saw they buy their own Japanese pumpkins here and make the tempura with fresh vegetables which is awesome it's not from a freezer bag!) -Salmon Carpaccio They have good rolls too. The quality of the sushi for their Deluxe 9 Grid Omakase Nigiri was good it just was pretty basic since I like the fun toppings (like yuzu, sea salt, shiso, etc.) that other places put on their nigiri. I would totally return here and order all my favorites and then just get some rolls instead of the Nigiri since while it was good quality, the rest of Bengee Sushi's menu is super creative and I prefer to eat one of their more creative items.

This place is in a plaza tucked in towards a corner and can easily he missed. So glad we decided to give it a try. Inside, there are about 8 tables, and the vibe is casual and cozy. Each time we've come in, the food has always been excellent. Flavor, temperature, and food quality was always on par, regardless of what we've tried. From ramen to sushi, and even the appetizers, all were worth the visit. Staff is also really friendly and attentive.

I stopped by during nighttime after visiting Ontario mills. The restaurant is small, with a cashier stand and a couple tables. The walls are lined with bottles of Japanese alcohol and the place uses lots of wood. I ordered their curry omurice while my relative ordered their house sashimi set. The food arrived promptly and we started eating The curry omurice was underwhelming in flavor and impact. The egg was whiter than what I would expect and the curry lacked depth. The chicken was okay, but not standout and the vegetables were similarly alright. The rice was plain white, which was expected but didn't add or detract from the dish. Really not what I was hoping for. The sashimi certainly added a star on its own. The seafood was fresh, the cheese added a nice component to the sashimi and the mayo felt rich and full of egg yolk goodness. Exactly what I would expect from sashimi. All in all, I would expect the sushi to be good if the sashimi is any indication. Nevertheless, the curry omurice was disappointing if edible. I would come back, but only for sushi or sashimi.

I originally came to this sushi spot with one thing in mind, the baked salmon roll. That was the mission. But while I was sitting there, I noticed the customer next to me digging into a bowl of spicy tonkotsu ramen and it looked too good to ignore. I figured why not try it... and I'm glad I did. The ramen completely stole the show. The flavor had depth, the spice was just right, and every bite hit. What started as a sushi run turned into a ramen experience. Marcus was my waiter, and he really elevated the whole visit. His customer service was on point attentive, personable, and easy to talk to without feeling forced. That kind of energy makes a difference. Safe to say, I'll definitely be back.

I really like the deep fire oyster, bake salmon rolls, sashimi all taste so good, fresh and yummy. The ambiance was refreshing and clean, added to the overall experience. The service was great and I'll for sure be back soon!

Food and service were quite excellent! I had the Black Drain roll, which has two of my favorite things (eel and avocado). It tasted quite fresh and would definitely order again. They also serve other Japanese dishes, so those will be worth a try on my next visit. Will come back when I'm in the area. read more

Best sushi place in Rancho Cucamonga and Ontario area! The tornado egg over rice with curry is a must have! The sashimi is also fresh. Had their 9-grid assorted sashimi a couple a times, good value. Their appetizer is also good, especially the uni with scallop. The waiter and waitress are very nice too. My colleague brought me here the first time, otherwise I wouldn't know this gem in the area. You'd be pleasantly suprised at the quality of food that they serve at Bengee. The place has a casual look but then the dishes and the menu are giving a little more high end look. The service was really good. The server was really friendly and nice and recommended new stuff which was the wagyu tartare. Presentation was very nice. Had to take photos of course. The cost was amazing too for 10 pieces of nigiri it was $32 something!! Uhm what?! Definitely and highly recommend. They have another one in Chino too which we had to go from. Just hasn't missed so far! The oysters we got were very good too! My only suggestion is to have the wagyu tartare cut a little better and seared a little more! read more

Visited on a Monday right when they opened. At first glance, the place is pretty small but very clean and welcoming. We had the pleasure of being served by Marcus, super cool and down to earth dude. We also had our 1 year old with us and Marcus was super understanding. As everyone knows, feeding a child can be a messy challenge but Marcus made sure we felt comfortable and accommodated. We ordered a golden tiger roll, salmon kama, Hokkaido roll & A5 wagyu. The A5 and salmon Kama were on the happy hour menu. The happy hour menu is pretty solid, wish they could include a few more apps on there though. Although the service was quick, everything tasted fresh and made to order. Worth the price. I'm glad we decided to stop by and try this place instead of many other places in the IE. I would visit again if I'm ever in the area. read more

so ontario def isnt known for it sushi. also im a sushi expert. anyways wanted to check this place out as i was in the area. super tiny place. first i go to the bathroom. light wasnt in its normal spot so im searching in the dark for it. ok great. service: nice worker but unfortunetly she really didnt provide great service. the rolls are tasty but basic. i got the playboy roll. basically a rainbow roll. baked green muscles.l: tasty but needing sauce. california handroll. decent but mainly just crab. i like a good ratio of ingredients inside my roll which this place didnt really have. all in all the food was tasty.. good prices check it out.. read more

Wanted to find a little spot with good quality sushi. This is located on a strip of a shopping mall type vibe. It's pretty small, but cozy vibes. There isn't a sushi bar, but we were sat pretty fast despite the size. The service was pretty quick and attentive too. I really really liked the quality of the fish; it was so buttery. Came on a Sunday afternoon for the lunch special and mango lovers roll. We got seats right away and almost all seats were filled. It's a small restaurant that can seat about 8 parties. Onto the food, the rolls have so little rice that it just falls apart because it's not bounded well by rice. Some parts of the Philadelphia roll didn't even have rice. The rice was spread so thinly that there were bald spots. The rice and chicken were dry. There were lots of bones on the salmon neck and I even found one in the mango lovers roll. The rice on the Philadelphia roll stuck together like they didn't put enough sushi vinegar or maybe none at all. But also they didn't have much rice to begin with on the roll. Overall, it's a cute place and good service but the food quality is lacking. read more

I love their food quality. It's fresh and good. Been here twice and would recommend for those who are craving for sushi or lunch specials. It is just $1/$2 more than most places, but it's worth it for us to drive and enjoy this place. This place is small. Not very good for big parties. The place itself can fit like 20 people max! We came here at lunch and there is only one server and I believe one chef. The food does take awhile to come out so hurry up and put in your order! This is my go to Bento lunch box place because their salmon collar got me hooked! Their hand rolls are nicely presented and yummy of freshness. read more

One of the most interesting things about this place is that there is sweet sushi. We went here for Friday lunch to try one of that along with other dishes - tornado omurice substitute rice base for salmon fried rice, baked crawfish roll, and sweet purple yam roll. The tornado omurice has a nice presentation but it honestly was just egg fried rice but the fried rice we substitute for salmon fried rice which was just okay. The salmon was a bit dry. Baked crawfish roll was good - there was a lot of crawfish and imitation crab on top, with the base just a California roll. Price was okay for this. Sweet purple yam roll - it does have a little bit of savory from pork floss and house mayo, but I really did not like this one. The mayo kind of ruined the whole roll as it masked a lot of the flavor of the purple yam. I guess novelty factor aside, either they didn't do a good job executing on the sweet sushi rolls or this flavor profile just doesn't work at all. Service was very mediocre. Food took almost an hour to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy, and it took a while to get water refills. For water refills they just give a jug for us to self serve, so to begin with, why didn't they just give us one like the rest of the other tables? read more

Rate: 3.5 Small restaurant compared to their Chino location, clean; parking not a problem which is always a plus. Arrived just a bit before noon and soon enough more people started coming. Strange, and unfortunate, that a second order of Yellowtail collar could not be filled ... which begged the question, they only had one? The fish was done right and very delicious. All the food was really fresh and flavorful. Hamachi carpaccio was delicious really tender and well balanced (hard to go wrong there). We also had a couple nigiri and the lemon roll. The lemon roll was sooo good! Lovely lemon flavor and not too overwhelming or anything. The fatty tuna nigiri was definitely more worth it that the salmon belly. Salmon belly had more chew to it. Not melt in your mouth like the tuna. Also, the day we went in they informed us that they changed their happy hours. We were excited thinking we had arrived on time around 5:30 but it turns out happy hour does not start until 9pm now. Still a great dinner regardless :) Only negative is the tables are very close together so you're gonna be a foot away from your neighbors. Not once did she check on our table, ask if we needed anything, offer refills, or make any effort whatsoever to provide even the most basic level of service. What made it even more insulting was watching her repeatedly check on every other table around us while walking past us over and over again. We were seated right by the entrance, so there is no chance she somehow forgot we were there. After finishing our meal, we sat waiting for an unreasonable amount of time while continuing to be ignored. Eventually, we had to get up and ask for our check ourselves because apparently that was too much to expect. At that point, it was obvious that nobody working there cared whether we had a good experience or not. I've worked in customer service and understand that places get busy, but this wasn't a matter of being busy, it was a matter of not caring. We were treated as if we didn't exist. If this is the standard of service this restaurant accepts, there are plenty of other places that deserve your money far more than this one. I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone expecting even the bare minimum level of customer service. Tacos were good, ill give them that.

Staff has always been kind, and they know what they're doing. There can be a bit of a wait, and it may be best to try and get their early right when the open to prevent longer wait times. The food prices are what I'd expect for some well-cooked meats.

I love to try new sushi restaurants, was in the area of Ontario and search sushi restaurants and Bengee sushi popped up. I gave them a call to place and order and get some prices. Whoever answer was really nice and answered all my questions. It was a 10 min drive from where I was coming from and once I arrived my roll was ready. The restaurant looked clean and organized. Ordered a rainbow roll, eel and spicy mayo are ¢50 extra. The row was fresh but was missing a bit of flavor. That's the only reason I'm giving this restaurant a 4/5 if I can I would give it a 4.5/5. Maybe if I'm near by anytime soon I'll will stop by and dine in. read more

Ordered hand rolls to go and honestly, this was bad. The blue crab hand roll tasted like straight-up canned crab dumped onto plain rice and seaweed. Zero seasoning. Zero flavor. The so-called bluefin hand roll was definitely not bluefin--it tasted like yellowfin at best. It was cold, like it came straight out of the fridge and was slapped together.
