Bengong Tea is one of my favorite places to grab a drink and relax. Their teas are always delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and they also offer tasty macarons if you're looking for a sweet treat. The café has ample seating, free WiFi, and even a selection of games, making it a great spot to hang out with friends, study, or get some work done. Another bonus is that they frequently have drink specials available through the Retail Therapy app, which makes an already great experience even better. If you're looking for a comfortable tea shop with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent drinks, Bengong Tea is definitely worth a visit.

Great vibes but drinks were average. I tried the Mango Pomelo Sago and thought it was a bit underwhelming compared to other mango drinks I've tried like Auntea Jennys. Sizes aren't that big either for the price. It's a decent place to chill with friends and located with other stores - not bad to walk around.

Not bad. A huge selection, so hard to decide since a lot of drinks looked good. Staff was patient. Our party of 4 was satisfied with our drinks. Beware: the strawberry peach sparkling tea was very sweet (like OG tea places' 100% sweet). I liked my peach oolong milk tea with cream top. It was truly cream--whipped cream. And my favorite part was some ?barley inside. The pecans were a nice touch, but also tasted like they could've been fresher. My friend liked his hot peach oolong milk tea, which surprisingly also had barley at the bottom. My other friend and my bf liked their strawberry peach sparkling tea. They said it was like a sweet mocktail. One out of two of them found it to be too sweet (the other one likes soda and would probably drink it every hot day if it were good for you). The decor is cute and clean. Some large families came in on a temperate March Sunday mid-afternoon, so it got a bit busy. Overall average and the barley in peach oolong MT was a delightful touch. However, since I only might come back if in the area, 3 stars for now.

Cute place, if you enjoy your drink here, there are tables, games and table top activities available. Check out the counter space opposite of ordering and see what is displayed. Excellent tea and creative flavors. Our group of 5 ordered different drinks and we were all satisfied. I ordered their signature drink mango pomelo with my adjusted sweetness preference, wow it was so good, so refreshing, not tart, perfect! We came on a Sunday, there were many drink orders Togo. Had a little wait for our drinks, but didn't mind . Seemed to be one worker making the drinks at the time, and she was killin' it! Made each drink with intention, consistency, many satisfied customers. She was in her zone. Amazing job! It's hard to find good workers these days!

This is my go-to place whenever I crave boba. I love that they have a wide variety of teas and customizable sweetness levels, and you can add fresh boba of your choice. Their Peach Jasmine Milk Tea is not too sweet and perfectly suits my taste, so it is one of my frequent orders. The staff is also friendly, which makes the experience satisfying. As for parking, it is located inside a large plaza, so parking is always available whenever I go. It is also fun to grab a boba and go shopping at the Target right next door.

I got a grape cheese slush and a passion fruit sparkling tea. Both drinks were delicious. The only thing that I wasn't a big fan of was with large drinks with the dome lid the straws are too short and barely stick out of the cup making it a bit hard to mix the drinks. I wasn't able to mix the grape cheese slush and ended up drinking just the cheese at the end which wasn't bad but I would've preferred if it was mixed together. There is a kiosk that you can order from and a screen that lets you know when your order is ready so there is minimal interaction with staff. There's lots of tables and seating indoors. There are also activities to do and card games that you can use while you hand out at the store.

I LOVE BenGong's Tea. I wish I could come here everyday. I tried it a few months ago for a yelp event and just keep coming back. They are 100/10 in my opinion. Drinks- 100/10. Oh my God their drinks are heaven. I looooooove the toasted brown sugar milk tea (75% sweet with regular ice). It's like heaven in a cup. The crunchy sugar on the top just makes it so delicious. Their boba is the perfect texture too. My date got the caramel cheese milk tea and it was equally as good. I want to try every drink on the menu! Service- 100/10. Every time I have come here the service has been amazing. Everyone that works here is so sweet and makes the drinks so delicious. Environment- 9/10. The decorations are sooooo cute. It's such a cute space to go with friends and grab drinks. They also play jazz which sets such a cool mood. My only complaint is that the chairs are cute, but they are all stained which isn't too heartwarming to sit on. Extras- It's in the Tustin Marketplace, so there's tons of parking. It's next to lots of great restaurants and shops too. Whenever I have come there hasn't been a long line so you get your drinks quickly :)

I don't even know what words to use to describe this experience. They were running a BOGO promotion. When you place your order, you're supposed to manually add the free second drink. I placed two separate orders and forgot to add the free drink on my second order. When I asked the girl for help, she kept saying, "You're supposed to add the second drink to your order." The girl barely looked at me, seemed completely uninterested, and refused to make the drink over such a small mistake. Instead of trying to be understanding or accommodating, they hid behind a technicality. Yes, I forgot to click one button, but good customer service is about helping customers, not looking for reasons to deny them over an honest mistake. This was some of the worst customer service I've had. They'd rather save the cost of one drink than treat a customer with basic courtesy. The other girls seemed nice. I wouldn't want one employee's attitude to reflect on the rest of the staff because it's not their fault. My experience was only with her. the drinks are good though. it's too bad that they're closed. but just wow

The best boba spot I've found in southern Cali. The staff were super friendly with cute decors. I can definitely spend a few hours here with a couple of friends. Highly recommend this place, by far the best milk tea. If you prefer to have more of the tea taste, this is the place!!

BenGong's Tea is a tea shop chain that blends traditional Chinese tea with modern flavors. They offer milk teas, fruit teas, cheese teas, slushies, and other signature drinks. I got the OSMANTHUS RICE MOCHI FROST. It was a creamy, blended drink with notes of floral. It had a bit of a rice wine taste to it which I enjoyed. It was also topped with crunchy bits of water chestnut boba. I also added boba for $1, but I didn't know the drink already had the water chestnuts so it was a little too much texture. I got the drink at 25% sweetness, which was perfect. The boba was warm but a little hard and I would not get that in the future. They were super busy on a weekend around lunch time and we waited about 10-15 minutes for our order. The inside was cute and there are a few tables to enjoy your tea. There is also a "wish tree" as an nice decoration. I look forward to trying their mango sago, black rice taro milk tea, other specialty drinks, as well as their milk and fruit teas in the future. Went to try the DaHongPao Boba Milk Tea and was able to adjust the sweetness. Milk tea was not bad, but it wasn't amazing. It seems that they are still new and still working out the kinks and process as I notice the employees constantly checking all cups as they moved the ticket. Service seems a bit slow and it took a while to get my order after placing it. Drink tasted more milk than the tea flavor. I prefer a stronger tea flavor, but everyone has their preference on that. They do have other drinks and fruit teas if milk tea isn't your thing. I'll come back to try their other drinks at a later time. read more

Great first experience here! Came on a Monday afternoon and got to order immediately. I ordered a mango pomelo sago and it was creamy, fruity and refreshing. Saw that they were opening a Bengong in Irvine and that they were having BOGO50% off from the previous picture so I had to come. Unfortunately, even though the picture shows BOGO50% from June - July and that I came on 6/30, they stopped the BOGO 2 days ago. Disappointed. Don't come if you're trying to capitalize on the deals. The drinks are not bad. It did take roughly 10-15 minutes for drinks to come out. If you want a more dessert-y type drinks, this place will suffice. I do prefer Orobae or Bako for more better milk tea-based drinks. read more

A couple of problems here that I see from all the times I have been at the store. + employee lacks verbal communication. -- I know that not all of employees speaks fluent English, but employees who do don't seem to mind the fact that they are not giving good customer services. Costumers need attentive employees. + take out bags -- I get that stores runs out of inventory because of unexpected sales and there are not so often a store will get a large order. But please I ask for the employees, as I customer, to be honest. I bought 10 drinks only for me to worry about how I will be able to carry out everything I bought from the store because there are no "bags". What do you mean no bags? As soon I was walked out that door, another customer came out with their small bag for 2 drinks. +store hours-- If your store closes at 8:00PM, how do you deal with customer still in the in the store? I came twice. The first time, cashier refused to take my order. I still have 5-6 mins before closing time. I wasn't able to order. Second time, there was 5 mins till closing time, the lights were turned off even though customers were still there. Please let customer know it is closing time. It's easy to communicate rather than being rude.... Though, I like the drinks here. I now hesitate to come due to these experiences. Drink is good, but services sucks? I might as well support other tea shops who have better customer treatment. read more

We went here on a Sunday evening to try out a new boba place and we had a coupon for 20% off. I ordered the mango pomela saga tea. It took about 10 minutes waiting in line and another 10 minutes for me to get my boba after I ordered. The service is decent and the ambiance is very nice. The boba tasted good but nothing amazing, I would recommend coming here to try out and would return once in a while. I wish they figure out how to speed up their tasks though. Came here yesterday for the 1st time with my wife since we live in the area. The line is always long so we figured it was worth checking out, turns out they are busy because they are new and don't fully have it down yet so service takes a while, can't blame them for that, it will get better with time. This place isn't bad but oh my goodness this drink was TERRIBLE! I do not recommend it at all. There's little white looking bobas, but they do not taste like boba at all. It's typically a watery based texture. Since it said milk tea I was expecting more thicker milky texture and taste, but it was not like that at all. The service did take quite some time today, and you order at a kiosk when you arrive. They don't typically change the decorations or interior design. It's nice to see for a person coming for the first time, but it would be nice if they changed things up slightly once in a while. I wish I ordered a different drink to try instead of spending $6 on this read more

I do not know they are so slow. It looks like there were a lot of online orders but they could have at least squeeze in the people who order in store. The people ordering in store aren't that much compared to the online ones. I get it that they probably work on the drinks in order, but the waiting time for the people who order in store could be better. I almost waited 20 minutes for a drink which makes me hesitant to order here next time because of the long wait. The drinks are not worth the wait. Food: Unique flavors. Ordered the Golden sesame milk slush and DaHongPao boba milk tea. If you're a black sesame fan, the sesame drink is the best. Not overally sweet and regular size was sufficient for satiety. The latter boba milk tea was average, nothing spectacular. There were 2 drinks and a topping that were out of stock or not available due to seasonal availability, would appreciate if there was a notice. Service: Nice, friendly staff. Fast service. Slight language barrier in explaining what the drinks taste like. Helps if you speak fluent Chinese. Seriously, if you have a promotion day, you should be prepared. I ordered 2 drinks on the app and it said it would be ready 20 mins later. I went there after 30 mins, they still have not started making my drinks. There are so many people come for today's promotion and only few staff making drinks. This store was pretty easy to find, and surprisingly looks like it just opened up. We saw this a lot on social media and word of mouth so we had to try it. We were extremely shocked when we ordered due to the higher than expected prices for their drinks. This small cup was nearly $7. In addition to the Mango Pomelo Sago, we had a tea drink, and a passion fruit drink as well. The Mango Pomelo Sago tasted interesting to say the least. The sago was undercooked and still hard, and the drink was hard to finish. The tea drink had a strong tea flavor, so no complaints there. The passion fruit was very underwhelming but the bits of fruit were fun to eat. All in all, we will not be coming back as we felt the overall experience didn't meet our expectations. read more

We said no one said that nor was it advertised anywhere otherwise we would have placed in person. WHAT DOES IT MATTER REGARDLESS? MONEY IS MONEY AND EVERYONE HAS TO WAIT IN PERSON TO PU. We asked for the magnets since we didn't know. Most people were chatting with friends, but there were also a few people working on laptops, so it's a place where you can either hang out or get some work done. Service was friendly, and one small detail is that I always appreciate their to-go bags. They're sturdy and insulated, making carrying multiple drinks much easier. I'd recommend asking for less sugar or using an unsweetened oat milk option if available, since even the milk seemed to add quite a bit of sweetness. One thing that was concerning was the seating. One of the chairs at our table was already damaged, and a member of our group unexpectedly fell backward when it gave out. Thankfully no one was seriously hurt, but it was a scary experience. We showed the staff that the chair had already been broken. The chairs are quite small and delicate, so I'd suggest checking your seat before sitting down and being a little cautious. Overall, it's a nice spot if you're looking for a cute café and don't mind waiting, but I'd recommend visiting during a less busy time and customizing your drink if you prefer it less sweet.

Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. Last note: they have their system down to a tee. The wait in line may be long but once you order it's super quick to receive your order.

There were strawberry slices on top with a few mochi pieces, and a little condensed milk drizzle on top. The middle and bottom layers were just crunchy ice. This was also gravely disappointing. Parking on weekend evenings look to be challenging as it was for me.

I have always enjoyed the drinks at Bengong which is why I felt compelled to share my recent experience. I placed a DoorDash order for pickup, with the app indicating it would be ready by 7:25 PM. Upon arriving on time and showing my order details to the employee, I was briskly informed that it was not ready, without much courtesy. While I understand that delays can happen, especially during busy times, the situation was handled unprofessionally. The employee, rather than providing a clear explanation or estimated wait time, he responded "Not ready" then turned away and resumed chatting and laughing with a coworker. Moreover, a subsequent customer who ordered in-store received her drink before my pre-ordered pickup was ready. The most concerning issue arose when my order was finally being packed. One of the drink lids was not sealed properly, and in the process of replacing it, another employee held the to-go bag under her armpit. This is unsanitary and not acceptable in the food service industry. Although another staff member noticed and provided a new bag, the overall experience left me disappointed. I believe there is a significant need for better training and professionalism among the staff to prevent future occurrences like this. I finally had the pleasure of trying the Osmanthus Rice Milk Tea after a long waiting, and it was an absolute delight. The moment I took my first sip, I was captivated by the delightful combination of flavors. The Osmanthus flavor infused the tea creating a soothing and refreshing sensation. The rice milk added a creamy and smooth texture that perfectly complemented the tea's taste. The balance of sweetness was just right, not overpowering but enough to enhance the overall experience. This has always been my favorite boba shop, and we come here every week, so I've gotten to know most of the staff. However, today was a different experience. When we walked in, the lady with the blonde hair greeted us warmly, which was nice, but then we had to deal with the young lady with long black hair for our order. Unfortunately, she didn't seem very welcoming at all. Despite my efforts to politely repeat my order clearly, she responded with a curt, "Sugar? Ice? And what?" While the drink itself was as consistent and clean as always, the service today left much to be desired. Omg I love the Hazelnut Pom-Pom, their winter seasonal drink little disappointed it's not available anymore. Their boba is always a hit, perfect texture, chewy and full of brown sugar flavor.
