Bengong Tea is one of my favorite places to grab a drink and relax. Their teas are always delicious, with plenty of options to choose from, and they also offer tasty macarons if you're looking for a sweet treat. The café has ample seating, free WiFi, and even a selection of games, making it a great spot to hang out with friends, study, or get some work done. Another bonus is that they frequently have drink specials available through the Retail Therapy app, which makes an already great experience even better. If you're looking for a comfortable tea shop with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent drinks, Bengong Tea is definitely worth a visit.

Great vibes but drinks were average. I tried the Mango Pomelo Sago and thought it was a bit underwhelming compared to other mango drinks I've tried like Auntea Jennys. Sizes aren't that big either for the price. It's a decent place to chill with friends and located with other stores - not bad to walk around.

Not bad. A huge selection, so hard to decide since a lot of drinks looked good. Staff was patient. Our party of 4 was satisfied with our drinks. Beware: the strawberry peach sparkling tea was very sweet (like OG tea places' 100% sweet). I liked my peach oolong milk tea with cream top. It was truly cream--whipped cream. And my favorite part was some ?barley inside. The pecans were a nice touch, but also tasted like they could've been fresher. My friend liked his hot peach oolong milk tea, which surprisingly also had barley at the bottom. My other friend and my bf liked their strawberry peach sparkling tea. They said it was like a sweet mocktail. One out of two of them found it to be too sweet (the other one likes soda and would probably drink it every hot day if it were good for you). The decor is cute and clean. Some large families came in on a temperate March Sunday mid-afternoon, so it got a bit busy. Overall average and the barley in peach oolong MT was a delightful touch. However, since I only might come back if in the area, 3 stars for now.

Cute place, if you enjoy your drink here, there are tables, games and table top activities available. Check out the counter space opposite of ordering and see what is displayed. Excellent tea and creative flavors. Our group of 5 ordered different drinks and we were all satisfied. I ordered their signature drink mango pomelo with my adjusted sweetness preference, wow it was so good, so refreshing, not tart, perfect! We came on a Sunday, there were many drink orders Togo. Had a little wait for our drinks, but didn't mind . Seemed to be one worker making the drinks at the time, and she was killin' it! Made each drink with intention, consistency, many satisfied customers. She was in her zone. Amazing job! It's hard to find good workers these days!

This is my go-to place whenever I crave boba. I love that they have a wide variety of teas and customizable sweetness levels, and you can add fresh boba of your choice. Their Peach Jasmine Milk Tea is not too sweet and perfectly suits my taste, so it is one of my frequent orders. The staff is also friendly, which makes the experience satisfying. As for parking, it is located inside a large plaza, so parking is always available whenever I go. It is also fun to grab a boba and go shopping at the Target right next door.

I got a grape cheese slush and a passion fruit sparkling tea. Both drinks were delicious. The only thing that I wasn't a big fan of was with large drinks with the dome lid the straws are too short and barely stick out of the cup making it a bit hard to mix the drinks. I wasn't able to mix the grape cheese slush and ended up drinking just the cheese at the end which wasn't bad but I would've preferred if it was mixed together. There is a kiosk that you can order from and a screen that lets you know when your order is ready so there is minimal interaction with staff. There's lots of tables and seating indoors. There are also activities to do and card games that you can use while you hand out at the store.

I LOVE BenGong's Tea. I wish I could come here everyday. I tried it a few months ago for a yelp event and just keep coming back. They are 100/10 in my opinion. Drinks- 100/10. Oh my God their drinks are heaven. I looooooove the toasted brown sugar milk tea (75% sweet with regular ice). It's like heaven in a cup. The crunchy sugar on the top just makes it so delicious. Their boba is the perfect texture too. My date got the caramel cheese milk tea and it was equally as good. I want to try every drink on the menu! Service- 100/10. Every time I have come here the service has been amazing. Everyone that works here is so sweet and makes the drinks so delicious. Environment- 9/10. The decorations are sooooo cute. It's such a cute space to go with friends and grab drinks. They also play jazz which sets such a cool mood. My only complaint is that the chairs are cute, but they are all stained which isn't too heartwarming to sit on. Extras- It's in the Tustin Marketplace, so there's tons of parking. It's next to lots of great restaurants and shops too. Whenever I have come there hasn't been a long line so you get your drinks quickly :)

I don't even know what words to use to describe this experience. They were running a BOGO promotion. When you place your order, you're supposed to manually add the free second drink. I placed two separate orders and forgot to add the free drink on my second order. When I asked the girl for help, she kept saying, "You're supposed to add the second drink to your order." The girl barely looked at me, seemed completely uninterested, and refused to make the drink over such a small mistake. Instead of trying to be understanding or accommodating, they hid behind a technicality. Yes, I forgot to click one button, but good customer service is about helping customers, not looking for reasons to deny them over an honest mistake. This was some of the worst customer service I've had. They'd rather save the cost of one drink than treat a customer with basic courtesy. The other girls seemed nice. I wouldn't want one employee's attitude to reflect on the rest of the staff because it's not their fault. My experience was only with her. the drinks are good though. it's too bad that they're closed. but just wow

The best boba spot I've found in southern Cali. The staff were super friendly with cute decors. I can definitely spend a few hours here with a couple of friends. Highly recommend this place, by far the best milk tea. If you prefer to have more of the tea taste, this is the place!!

BenGong's Tea is a tea shop chain that blends traditional Chinese tea with modern flavors. They offer milk teas, fruit teas, cheese teas, slushies, and other signature drinks. I got the OSMANTHUS RICE MOCHI FROST. It was a creamy, blended drink with notes of floral. It had a bit of a rice wine taste to it which I enjoyed. It was also topped with crunchy bits of water chestnut boba. I also added boba for $1, but I didn't know the drink already had the water chestnuts so it was a little too much texture. I got the drink at 25% sweetness, which was perfect. The boba was warm but a little hard and I would not get that in the future. They were super busy on a weekend around lunch time and we waited about 10-15 minutes for our order. The inside was cute and there are a few tables to enjoy your tea. There is also a "wish tree" as an nice decoration. I look forward to trying their mango sago, black rice taro milk tea, other specialty drinks, as well as their milk and fruit teas in the future. You can't tell what the girl is saying when she calls out the order and it's way past that unfortunate time in history to be wearing a mask. Waited 20 min for our drinks and finally asked for a refund. 6 employees behind the counter, some standing around chatting, a couple of them making drinks. But there were no other customers inside waiting for drinks but us. 2 people ordered roughly 5 minutes after us and they got their drinks before us. It was clear they were friends of the employees. Came in an hour after the opened and ordered 7 drinks on the kiosk they have available. We waited a long time while customers who ordered after us got their drinks first. I went to check on the order and saw most of them lined up and ready and asked if they're all done. The girl working there said they ran out of sugar. An hour after opening and you run out of sugar for the last drink... I'm assuming they had the guy working there go out and run to buy sugar, because most of the drinks had started to melt already. We told her we'll just take the last drink with 0% sugar so we can just go. There was no offer to comp the drink or give us a discount for that drink or any of the other drinks that had melted. They didn't even tell us they ran out of sugar so we could decide to just cancel that last drink and get the rest while they were at their optimal temp to enjoy. Not the greatest experience or customer service. The only thing keeping this at 3 stars is most of the drinks were pretty good. read more

This place is so pretty and has a great variety of drinks. I tried several of the drinks and they were all good in their own way. The special milk tea was creamy and cheesy. The mango cheese slush was surprisingly smooth. What surprised me the most was the passion fruit sparkling water and the rose sparkling water. First time visited this store located at the Irvine Market place. The interior deco is pretty and their menu shows lots of creativity. Ordered one of the popular drink "peach oolong tea with cream top" and it's very good. Replaced Cherubic Tea not too long ago. Staff speaks fluent Chinese and is patient with customers. The prices are high but are somewhat mitigated by the coupon available on the Retail Therapy app. Its nice for a quick stop, without doing anything particularly special. Haven't had the milk tea here, just iced tea either unsweetened or at half sweetness, but tea was prepared well enough without bitterness and they have a larger than average selection of toppings. read more

First visit during the soft-grand opening! We were so excited that a BenGong was finally opening right here! They kept the base build of Cherubic (which is great bc i loveeee the pink and white atmosphere). Adding in magnificent Chinese posters, a beautiful wishing tree (that you can add your wish to!) and playing upbeat, chinese music. The girl helping us, Gwen, was so sweet. We did not know what certain things meant and she explained the different types of flavors. It was so yummy and we will definitely be back again soon! read more

It was easy to plan and the event coordinator was professional and responsive to their guidelines (2 business days). There were some things that could be improved. Planning - Two tables were missing two seats so a total of 4 seats weren't there as they were in the info packet diagram. It required some improvisation and worked out ultimately because some of our guests no-showed and the other table had children who sat in their parents lap. - Having done (and loved) their previous afternoon tea service before, I assumed guests would have their choice of tea. In actuality, you choose 6 teas for the whole event. There's no mention of it in the packet and we didn't find out until we arrived. You only get so much time to set up so it would have been better to be able to choose the teas ahead of time to think about everyone's preferences. - a few times I'd send over a numbered list of questions, and they would respond in paragraphs, which generally answered my questions but did not always answer all of them, which meant I had to re-ask or just assume we could figure it out later. Day of Service - Many guests didn't know how much they could eat per the tiered platters. It would have been nice if the waitstaff informed the guests what the items on the platter was and how many items each guest was entitled to. It seemed like most of the time our items were silently delivered and there wasn't a lot of checking in. - They didn't come by to refill the water for our 6 teapots often enough, so we often had empty pots for long stretches of time. Overall a good experience with some tweaks would be really great.

They intentionally don't have wifi or outlets available to foster a different customer experience. Many of the clientele were reading or knitting which was pleasant. While I support this, it's not made know to customers by signs or anything - you would have to look on Yelp beforehand to know. In addition, I've been to other Kean branches that offered wifi so unless this is a new policy or the branches are owned independently it's important to make customers aware they can't expect the internet at this location in particular. Parking is in l shopping center, no issues.

Some people might question the price, but take a minute to smell the different beans at the counter. You'll quickly realize that not every bean smells like coffee. The tasting notes actually come through and you can tell a lot of care goes into every pour over they make. Most drinks, aside from the pour-overs, are around $4.50 to $7, which is a far greater value for what you're getting in sheer quality. There are way too many cafes these days that focus on aesthetics and end up sacrificing quality. This place feels like it's run by people who genuinely love coffee and it shows in every order. Last note: they have their system down to a tee. The wait in line may be long but once you order it's super quick to receive your order.

There were strawberry slices on top with a few mochi pieces, and a little condensed milk drizzle on top. The middle and bottom layers were just crunchy ice. This was also gravely disappointing. Parking on weekend evenings look to be challenging as it was for me.

I have always enjoyed the drinks at Bengong which is why I felt compelled to share my recent experience. I placed a DoorDash order for pickup, with the app indicating it would be ready by 7:25 PM. Upon arriving on time and showing my order details to the employee, I was briskly informed that it was not ready, without much courtesy. While I understand that delays can happen, especially during busy times, the situation was handled unprofessionally. The employee, rather than providing a clear explanation or estimated wait time, he responded "Not ready" then turned away and resumed chatting and laughing with a coworker. Moreover, a subsequent customer who ordered in-store received her drink before my pre-ordered pickup was ready. The most concerning issue arose when my order was finally being packed. One of the drink lids was not sealed properly, and in the process of replacing it, another employee held the to-go bag under her armpit. This is unsanitary and not acceptable in the food service industry. Although another staff member noticed and provided a new bag, the overall experience left me disappointed. I believe there is a significant need for better training and professionalism among the staff to prevent future occurrences like this. This has always been my favorite boba shop, and we come here every week, so I've gotten to know most of the staff. However, today was a different experience. When we walked in, the lady with the blonde hair greeted us warmly, which was nice, but then we had to deal with the young lady with long black hair for our order. Unfortunately, she didn't seem very welcoming at all. Despite my efforts to politely repeat my order clearly, she responded with a curt, "Sugar? Ice? And what?" While the drink itself was as consistent and clean as always, the service today left much to be desired. Even when order280 is ready, mine is still not in progress. I understand that busy times can cause delays, but it felt unfair and poorly managed. The delay really took away from the experience, and I hope the store can work on streamlining their process to prioritize orders more effectively.
