Solid breakfast spot located in Benicia's industrial complex. Jillian was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and provided good suggestions. We had the pancake combo, French toast combo, and the shrimp and avocado skillet. Everything was good and the food came out pretty quickly. We must have come at the right time because it got really busy when we were on our way out. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available and they have also have a bar area.

Great service. Food is amazing. Clean & friendly. The Benicia grill has food and was exactly what I was looking for.

Lots of choices on the menu and decent portions but the quality was not good the day we were there. Burnt toast with no apology or even an attempt to fix it. (See the pic) The place is very much in need of an upgrade. Worn out booths and I would say the quality is a bad Denny's type meal. We did not feel very well after eating there for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

So this is a place I haven't been to much but my coworker didn't bring lunch and the name Benicia Bar and grill came up so we ordered. We both ordered the cheese steak sandwich with fries. The roll was toasted but the meat is not the traditional sliced ribeye from a Philly cheesesteak sandwich. The meat was more like strips like that of a fajita and wasn't seasoned well. However the star of the show would be the fries. Cooked perfectly and very crispy.

I stopped by Benicia Grill on a Friday morning for some brekkie since I was in the area. Benicia Grill is a cute little spot tucked away in the industrial area of Benicia and is definitely a local spot. Upon entering, I was greeted by the sweetest lady and seated right away. I got the Santa Fe Skillet and it was pretty good!

Ate here last week. It was fine! It wasn't amazing but it didn't suck either. I eat breakfast out often and I am always searching for hidden gems. This isn't a place I would return to when there are so many better options. ‍.

My pickle that was partially eaten by a rat

We ordered BLTs and they straight scammed us. The sheer lack of give a crap when it came to these sandwiches was insulting. There was one piece of bacon per sandwich, the tiniest slice of tomato, a huge portion of wilted lettuce and such a thin slice of bread. I paid $14 for what probably cost them nickels and dimes. Also my pickle looked like a rat had been chomping on it before me.

Huge breakfast menu and all 3 that we ordered were excellent. Done perfectly and they offer large portions. Certainly will return to try lunch next time.

    Chorizo Skillet

I'm always looking for a good breakfast spot. First time here and it did not disappoint. I had the chorizo skillet, man they sure don't skimp on portions. The food came out pretty fast and our waitress was attentive and friendly.

Our first visit and definitely won't be our last! This place is very cozy with great service and really good food! We got the banana walnut pancakes and T-bone steak and eggs. Everything was fresh, delicious, and the steak was seasoned well.

Came in on a Thursday morning. There weren't too many people so we were asked to seat ourselves. The menu and pricing has changed since I last came around a year or so ago. I made the mistake of ordering something off the menu that they used to serve which was grilled cheese with pepper jack, the cheese is different than before and did not melt at all onto the bread. Other than that everyone else at my table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. Once we were seated, two other parties were seated a couple minutes after us. They did receive service, drinks and food before my party. Handicap parking is available out front and they offer accessible tables if you need them.

I ordered the sea bass, my husband had the salmon, my sister had a salad, and her husband enjoyed the filet mignon. Every dish was delicious, but the sea bass deserves special recognition. As someone who orders sea bass whenever I can, I've had it in Pismo Beach, Monterey, and San Francisco, and Baxter's has set a new standard. It was incredibly fresh, melt-in-your-mouth tender, with a perfectly crisp sear that locked in all of its delicate flavor. Every bite was moist, flaky, and cooked to perfection. It was honestly the best sea bass I've ever had. The service was warm, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome. Combined with the elegant atmosphere and classic white tablecloths, Baxter's was the perfect place to celebrate. We'll definitely be back!

If you're looking for the kind of dinner that makes you want to cancel your other weekend plans…read morejust so you can go back, Baxters is it. Tucked right on First Street across from the bay in downtown Benicia, this place has completely earned its reputation as the town's culinary crown jewel. From the moment you walk in, the warmth is unmistakable -- and it's not an accident. Owners Kenneth Coker and Kevin Shaw built this restaurant to feel like their own living room, and it shows in every detail, right down to the name (a sweet nod to their beloved Fox Terrier). That personal touch translates into genuinely attentive service that never feels stiff or rehearsed. Now, the food. The Beef Wellington is the stuff of legend -- perfectly rendered pastry, a filling that melts before you even chew, and clearly a labor of love from the kitchen. The scallops are seared to that impossible perfection where the outside caramelizes but the inside stays buttery-soft. And if salmon gnocchi in vodka sauce is on the menu when you go, order it without hesitation -- it's rich, comforting, and impossible to stop eating. Even the truffle burger, which almost feels like an afterthought on a menu this elevated, has become a neighborhood obsession for good reason. Cocktails are crafted with the same care as the food -- inventive, well-balanced, and clearly the product of a team that takes its bar program seriously. And if you can snag a reservation in The Speakeasy, the intimate back room, do it. It's easily one of the most romantic, memorable settings for a special occasion in the entire Bay Area. Baxters isn't just a great restaurant -- it's a genuine gathering place, the kind of spot a whole town falls in love with. Whether it's date night, a family celebration, or just a nightcap at the bar, Baxters delivers an experience that's warm, delicious, and utterly memorable every single time. Highly, highly recommended.

It takes awhile for the server to come assist you, especially ordering drinks. Half our table got drinks and finished before the other got to order. The drinks took awhile to come out and came at different times and were inconsistent with taste and garnish. They never collected any empty glasses when they came with new drinks. So our table was cluttered. This is not good when your table is already cramped. When we were ordering the food the server kept trying to pressure us to order more (either two of the same dish or more food). Unfortunately we listened and got two of the mussel with fries. The assembly of this dish was not great. They put a glob of mayo on top of the mussels...then fries under with a TON of not so great broth. The fries get sooooo soggy and dipping it becomes a nightmare when you start eating the mussels. The mussels also weren't that great. It wasn't necessarily fishy but almost tasted old or left out. I would not recommend this dish. The Brussels sprouts were horrendous and EXTREMELY salty. It was drenched in this buffalo tasting vinaigrette. The entire party hated this. As for the chicken, it was alright. The hot sauce wasn't great so I ate it alone. The biscuit was tough and hard to rip apart. It didn't have that flakey texture. The slaw was a miss from just looking at it. My favorite thing out of it all was the Mac and cheese. Not dry, had good amount of salt. Oh, and if you want to order the side of carrots, I'm not sure 2 slices is worth the amount they charge. The menu is also limited compared to what was offered before.

There's not a lot of places that stay open during the week. We were in town for the long holiday…read moreweekend and not wanting to end the night, we came here. Also a recommendation from friends who's in the neighborhood. We ended taking an uber as we weren't quite sure where it was. Honestly we could have walked there....lol... It was pretty lively when we walked in. They're open till midnight I believe and we arrived about 10:30. It's not quite a dive bar but somewhat better. Theres two pool tables right when you walk in through the back. Theres the bar counter along one side. I think there's only one bar. Besides that, food is also served. A good crowd with locals when we arrived. Both pool tables were utilized and a line was set. Drinks, we got a couple of the Moscow mules which was informed that they only had one cups left. Guess people take them. A couple of those and beer and margaritas. They were quite nice. Kitchen was still open, so we put in for some good. Heard that their fish and chips were good so that was ordered and the fried pickles. Food didn't take long to arrive. Yes, the fish and chips were quite nice. Two big chunks of fish which was nice and flaky. Served with tater sauce and marinara. Fried pickles were ok, a little too salty for my liking but good. The place was fun. A lively crowd there for the same reason. Drinks and having fun. Pool table was getting utilized the whole time. Food was quite nice. A fun local bar.

Today went for breakfast surprised how $ it has become. Asked eggs over easy the yolk was hard boiled no one checked on us at the end server was very sweet and sympathetic but breakfast was bad I gave contacted new owners twice Nothing So sad we have been supporting this establishment for 25 years

There is a relaxing area in the back that you would not want to skip, at least check it out if you're here. The ambiance is amazing! The food is very tasty. I requested a sugar free syrup for my latte and they do not have any syrups. They make their own flavors. I ended up with a really light chocolate, so a mocha and it was absolutely DELICIOUS!! The service was great! The place is very clean.

I heard so many great things about the One House Bakery, so I had to try it!…read more The store was cute and welcoming. I loved the outdoor seating. It offered some shade on a hot sunny day. The store was smaller than I expected. I got there after lunch and they were out of most of the breads. I got an almond croissant, the carrot cake, a yellow cupcake with chocolate frosting & the bread pudding to share. The almond croissant was mid, the carrot cake was dry, and so was the cupcake. I was highly disappointed. The bread pudding, however was delicious! It came with a delicious sauce, and the bread pudding had fruit in it. That may sound strange, but you have to try it! Overall, if you're in Benicia looking for fresh baked goods, good vibes, with no high expectations, stop by the One House Bakery.
