I will not go back due to the insane inflation in pricing. We typically go to kasai which is better food, environment, and apparently now way better pricing than Benihana. They charged $40 for all our kids meals with fried rice and a drink. Kasai is $22 for filet, drink included, plus dole whip for dessert. 3 kids and two adult New York strip teppanyaki. No alcohol. $250. Could have gone to a high line steakhouse. $7.50 up charge for fried rice. Kasai comes with fried rice included. Waitress was rude, basically baited us into all getting fried rice and the other people in our party. We had been here plenty of times in the past and never got charged like this. Will not be going back. Teppanyaki guy was cool but that's about the only thing good I have to say. Bathroom smelled terrible as well. read more

We had reservations and couldn't be sat until whole party was there, which makes sense the way this restaurant works. The wait was a bit longer than expected since we had reservations but it's all good. We sat down and our server took a bit to get there but was super friendly. He was very helpful especially when he found out it was my first time. The other party at table has been there, but server wanted to make sure I knew what was going on. Wasn't really sure what to expect how the meal worked but it was great. Asked what the server likes and went with one of the specials. The server made sure we were taken care of the whole time. It may have been something worth mentioning when we made reservations? And using a small air mover by the front door isn't solving the lack of circulating air. And to top it off, I'm sure the excessive heat in the building has let the food go above temperature because our stomachs were not "ok" thereafter. We made an early reservation for 6:30 several days ago for 3/1. My birthday was a couple weeks ago, my mom's was a few days ago and my daughter's is Wednesday. We arrived at 6:10 and we're told it would be a 30 minute wait. At 6:40 my daughter asked how much longer and they said 30-45 minutes longer. At that point, I looked at my app and my $50 birthday reward was gone so I asked the person up front about it and he said it was only for February he thinks but he see if the manager would honor it. The manager came over and said that is have to ask for it to be extended but didn't know how or where to do that but it should say it on the website. I went and at down because it got really busy again. Then when it showed down I asked him if he could help because I couldn't find it, he did a great job of attempting to and the other hostess tried also. He said he'd talk to the manager again. We finally got called to our table at 7:25. We sat down and we're told that it would be an hour until our chef would be available. We all ordered, got our soup, salad, and at around 8:45 the chef arrived. He did a great job. The server was also great. We asked the waitress about my disappearing birthday reward and my mother's that was never put in her account. They gave us an appetizer and said they wouldn't honor our birthdays. We didn't leave until 10pm. I'm a veteran, they could see the birthday reward was on my account and expired on March 1 and told me to get an extension but couldn't tell me how. We were there for 4 hours. My mom had a free appetizer on her rewards and that was the only discount. After we paid, the table next to us, the manager came over and gave them discounts. We had a reservation and we still waited two hours past our reservation for our chef. Terrible management. There were 4 chefs in the building and they didn't cut off reservations, they didn't offer any compensation for their lack of planning. read more

I was very disappointed in my service today, I tried to give the server the benefit of the doubt she was having a bad day but she seemed very unhappy to be at work, when I complained to the manager he did nothing but tell her to bring us our refills. It was a waste to even tell the manager because he also seemed like he hated his job too!! Never going back after today! They need to hire better staff! To top it off.... Overall I was hoping for a better experience. It's been sometime since I have visited a Benihana. Walked into a busy and casual restaurant and thought to myself thank goodness I made a reservation. Our reservation was at 7:30 pm on a Wednesday. Upon checking in at 7:30 we were told that they were running behind and that it would be about a 15 minute wait. We were not seated till about 8:00 pm. Our waitress was friendly, but service was slow. Soup was first, followed by salad 30 minutes later. Our teppanyaki chef was friendly and entertaining. I wasn't impressed by the food, it lacked seasoning and flavor. I'm assuming they were either short staff or poorly organized this night. I have been to other local teppanyaki restaurants and had a much better experience, I can't say I would visit Benihana again. read more

We did not have reservations so we expected a wait. When we arrived at about six we were told it would 45-60 minute wait. We came back after an hour and were told there were four people a head of us possibly another 15-30 minute wait but couldn't be clear on that after 30 minutes we checked again and were told that there were now six people ahead of us(??? Going back words on the list????) at two hours we received a text that our table was ready at this point we had left and received our food at another restaurant. We sat at the bar instead of waiting for enough people for a table. So o can't speak to the show. They do offer lunch specials during lunch hours. And the bar area is first come, first serve. They don't offer military discounts. But if you become a loyalty member they will send you a $30 coupon for your birthday. The old fashioned is done with a smoked Japanese whisky. But lots of small ice cubes. I hate that. The food was ok. Meat is "choice". Very salty overall. The bartender, who waited on us was prepping fruit between taking care of customers. We got a birthday coupon for $30 so we decided to have dinner here. Most of the time, we have frequented Osaka Teppanyaki for this type of meal. We really appreciated the birthday coupon and the birthday ice cream that was given to my wife as her birthday treat. The service was perfunctory, and the food was OK, but nothing special. We thought the serving sizes were noticeably smaller than Osaka's -- compared to Osaka's the filet was about 4 oz instead of 6 oz. and the chicken breast piece was about 3 oz as opposed to 5 oz. The shrimps and scallops were about the same size. I was a little peeved at their marketing strategy to upsell their fried rice -- they ask you if fried rice is OK, but they never mention that fried rice is extra and normally plain steamed rice comes with the teppan meal. They charge you $6.40 extra for each serving of fried rice, while fried rice is included with the Osaka meals. Finally, their pricing is about 30% higher than Osaka's for the same meal offerings. So, by comparison, Osaka's meal is a much better deal. read more

Reservation was at 6:15 and we got there at 6:05, we were seated at 7:15, the chef didn't start cooking our food till 8:15 (he was back to back tables), we left at 9:05. While this may be fine for some, we have a 1 and a half year old child so our time is limited on how long he can stay entertained. An hour of waiting around wasn't helpful and why would I make a reservation if they don't honor it? Wouldn't go back. Pricing was awful - Chicken was $33 and then $7 to "upgrade" to fried rice. $15 for a 22oz Japanese beer (standard Kirin) and then $13 for hot sake. So overall it was a ripoff compared to the normal place we go - check out OSAKA (rice included, beer + sake together is less than 1 beer at Benihana, keeps reservations and gets you seated). Gave 2 stars to Benihana because chef Gez, and waiter were very kind, patient and made the wait less stressful. read more

Chandler's location the sinks have green mold on them and the toilet bowl have black mod inside like they don't use cleaning products to san them. its just disgusting. food at this location was bare minimum. When we checked in for our reservation, we were told they were running 30 mins behind. After the 30 mins we checked in and this was when the flippant attitude started. We arrived at our allocated time, though still waited about 10 minutes for our table. With our party of 5, we shared the table with another family of 3. We were looked after by Melissa. She was upbeat, engaging and helpful. She carried the whole experience as our chef seemed like he didn't want to be there. Regardless, the kids were entertained and Melissa hyped up the evening. Food was great. We chose a few differing combos. The shrimp was the highlight as it was flavorful and cooked well. Steak was okay- nothing memorable. My family did wish there was alternative dipping sauces as the two provided weren't the best match for our meals. Chicken fried rice was an extra charge of +$5 per bowl fyi.
