The oysters on the half shell and snow crab were as good as it gets. The oysters were very good local salty sweet. The crab legs way better than average for size and cook. The fried selections left a little to be desired, that's why no fourth star. The had a decent variety of seafood, no question, I would not want to be there when its busy, due they had trouble keeping with the early Sat afternoon crowd. This was a second option and I desperately want to give it a 3.5 stars, yet feel a 4 would be too much. The waiter we had (Woody) was absolutely amazing, with the fast service (waters were always filled) and the jokes he told us on our way out was priceless. A lot of the crab did seem watery and the oysters were not my favorite. For the price, I think the food could've been better ($32 roughly), I did love the crab cakes and muscles. Would give it 2 1/2 - 3 stars. A lot of the food was fried beyond recognition, but I feel like that is the case with many of these places. We basically went for the crab legs, and we certainly got our moneys worth. There doesnt seem to be as many items on the buffet as some of the other spots. The inside of the restaurant is fairly rundown, but it was clean. The service was great, our waitress was really on top of providing refills and fresh plates. This place is one of my favorite buffet in Myrtle beach. Staff is very friendly and food is very good. I love the crab legs! Ohmygoodness! I can eat them all day for breakfast lunch and dinner lol and this place is exceed all expectations! My husband doesn't eat seafood and he finds so many things to eat here as well. Totally worth the money. Coming here with family or with friends and make sure to wear loose pants because you couldn't resist to try everything lol Also every time I come here I get my pictures taking the restaurant will give you a souvenir photo which is very nice. read more

Don't order off the menu!! The buffet was a little pricey (28.00) and we weren't starving so we ordered from the menu. Two ordered the scallops and two ordered the steak. The scallops were under-cooked and slimy. The steaks (ordered medium) were overcooked, tough and dry. We left the steaks behind and were only charged for one. We took the scallops home and cooked them the next day. The buffet looked good so if you're willing to pay the price try that. read more

We tried to go to a more highly rated calabash, but the line was 50 yards out the door, so we settled for Bennet's. This was a couple dollars cheaper, but not worth the savings in time or money. The food was below average with most of it grossly overcooked and dried out from sitting in the buffet. Wait staff were all foreign and struggled with English, so they did not understand our needs well. They were pleasant, however. Decor was plain and caffateria feeling. I gave it two stars because there was no wait, staff was nice and the buffet did have a few decent items, but none were outstanding. Should have waited in the long line, I think. read more

I absolutley LOVED this place. EVERYTHING was delicious, service was outstanding and the waitress was very friendly......I'm not a fan of Buffets, the food is always so bland, but Bennett's has been the ONLY one to prove me wrong. Everyone is commenting that its not big, etc. But who cares, the variety is enough and the food is delicious! Those hush puppies where to die for mmmmmmm LOL. We really liked this buffet compared to others in the Myrtle Beach area. They had a lot of fish selections including a lot that weren't fried. My fiancée really liked the crab legs. They had a lot of different kinds of meat too. Steak, sausages, brisket...etc. The staff was very friendly too. Any time we needed anything they were very quick and were able to answer any questions we had. They also sell beer and wine, however we both got iced tea. Not a long wait time either and we were there during the 4th of July week. read more

The crab legs were really fresh, hot, and delicious. The were refilled often. Our favorite item on the buffet was the stuffed flounder. We did have a few fish dishes that we did not like. The mahi and grouper were a little too rubbery and could have been better. As stated in other reviews, the hush puppies are very good. I wasn't too impressed with the dessert selections, but the other menu items were varied and mostly tasty. Nice, clean environment too! Hardly every Yelp but this place needs major work. Way overpriced for what you get. Salad dressing tasted soured and bad, food is par for a beach town. Shrimp tasted frozen and had bad taste. I'd give less than a star if I could. I arrived around 8:30pm one evening, walked through an unlocked door to an empty podium, where I could see a full buffet of piping hot food. Someone yelled at me from across the room "we're closed." At that point, I asked to speak with a manager. The "manager" informed me that their online information (which stated a 10pm closing time) was incorrect. I pointed to all the hot buffet food that was STILL on display, he said they were in the process of picking it up. This was during one of our slower months so I understand having hardly any customers and wanting to go home. But when I suggested sticking to the posted hours or maybe changing the hours to fit the season, I was told he'd "would rather piss off one customer by closing unusually early than changing hours " No compromise, no offer of charging for a to go plate. Just rude and very unwelcoming. I will never return to this establishment. read more

Four of us arrived at the restaurant at 4:30 pm and had a coupon for $4.00 off each meal. The price was $29.95 minus the $4. The buffet includes crab legs, that I don't eat, but there was no discount for that. Still a better price than any other on the beach. I was completely amazed at the display of fish available on the tables. I sampled most of the broiled/grilled fish that I liked, about 6 different fish, and all were excellent and flavorful. I don't eat shell fish except for shrimp so I went for the fried shrimp. WOW, melt in your mouth fried shrimp at a decent size, not tiny popcorn shrimp. There were other fish on the grilled table, tuna maybe one other but at least 8 different grilled fish. They had crab legs oyster Rockefeller, oysters on half shell peeled shrimp and peal and eat shrimp and maybe more but I didn't remember any other. We were all very happy and pleased with this restaurant and would definitely return next time in MB. read more

I live in North Dakota and recently visited my son in Myrtle Beach, S.C. I was really looking forward to some GREAT SEAFOOD so Sunday evening we went to Bennett's Calabash Seafood Buffet. They were open so we went in noticing very few people in the restaurant but thought nothing of it and the hostess seated us. We went and got our food and I noticed there was not much seafood on the buffet but got our food and started eating and found it didn't taste fresh. As we ate noticed a woman with a tub removing things from the salad bar and thought that was odd. Then we started noticing people from the kitchen staring at us which made us uncomfortable. We started to realize they wanted to close for the night. We should have been informed by the hostess when we came in that they were not putting out fresh seafood anymore that evening but nothing was said. I did inform the waitress we were not satisfied but got our bill for the full price of $75.10 anyway. I was feeling very "ripped off" and still feel that way. Next time I am in Myrtle Beach, this restaurant will not be on my list. read more
