For the starters, my issue was not a one time thing. I've ordered from this place before and the same thing has happened twice. I made an order last night, a simple slice of pizza and order of fries, I was told by the person who took my order that my delivery would arrive in 25-30 minutes. An hour had gone by and no signs of my order, I called the restaurant and it turns out my order was not Even processed by the kitchen, it literally just sat in the system, so had I not called, I would probably still be waiting for my order. This is nuts, the top paragraph is from an order I wanted to write a review on but I never went ahead sent it in. Now today, a whole different day, week, and month I'm sitting here with a different complaint. I order a slice of pizzaa, a can of rc, & and order of fries. The order arrive ed promptly but my can of rc was not in thE bag and the fries tasted as if they had been sitting out and were just simply reheated. I called Bennys and asked to speak with a manager, who happened to be someone by the name of Octavio. I went ahead and explained to him about the current issue and the issues I had encountered in the past. He simply stated that to avoid these issues, he would no longer be accepting orders from me, implanting that I i was the problem and not their lack of attentiveness with the orders. He never offered to help make up for my bad experiences but he kept stating that I was the one with the problem. Me being in the industry, if I make a mistake, I will try my beat to make it up to my customer and not tell them that they simply can't order from the restaurant again because they cause trouble. This place used to be okay. Now that they struggle with getting a simple order right, I must say that it's not worth the cheap price.

It's mediocre @ best. Don't be fooled by the menu you take with you the prices don't reflect what they have in the restaurant. The staff are of the short yellow bus type. We ordered 2 Shrimp baskets, 2 Dbl Cheese Burgers, 1 Italian Beef, A family size half and half, ex.fries, mozz sticks and onion ring's got 1 Shrimp Basket, 2 CHEESE BURGERS (Not 2 Doubles) The Italian, the fries, the pizza, the rings and the stick's. They had the order as 1 shrimp basket, 3 cheese burgers??? WTF!!! Then when we called back to get the food we didn't receive we were getting charged an additional 8 BUCKS!!!! on top of the 48 I had already paid...yeah not so cheap is it even if it was delivery, 10 years ago my girl said this place had good food...now it's over priced and crappy. Told me 45 mins to deliver, took 44 and was perfect temp for pizza. I like this place, sauce could use something but it was pretty tasty. Price was very reasonable, got plenty of food for my dollar. Simple menu with great options, looking forward to trying other items in the future. read more

Good pizza and great prices. This place has regular staff members who aren't above and beyond but polite overall. Probably as polite as you get when you work in food service. The place is really tiny, so ever since Pilsen became an up and coming neighborhood it can get pretty packed in there which gets annoying at times when you're ordering to go. Cool little joint to order from when you've got a craving for some unhealthy food. read more

Their pizza is gooood! Simple neighborhood pizza with a crisp crust and gooey cheese and tasty sauce. Great pricing and great friendly delivery. Love it! Skip the fried mushrooms though, they always seem to be undercooked. read more

Always looks busy but can they make me a dairyless vegan pizza? If so I am there. Why Pilsen restaurants don't offer more vegan items is a mystery with all the young vegans living here in Pilsen. C'mon..scoop up the extra customers and be "the place known to get vegan in Pilsen" I pay the same price for a cheese veggie pizza w/o the cheese so the establishmenet gets over by holding the cheese costs. Try JUMBO SMART DOGS Benny's. Taste better than "meat dogs" and serve up 17 grams o protein to 2 fat. Better for the OVERWEIGHT kids too. read more

The bf and I order from here a few times a month simply because they are open late and we can walk a half block down the alley to pick up the food. It's a hole in the wall place with not great eat in seating, so carry out. Pizza is great. Prices are right. I quite enjoy the hot wings. The sauce is awesome. And let's not forget the crinkle fries! read more

I ordered a carry out pizza. I have been hearing about Benny's for some time and I wanted to try it. The person who took my order was polite and nice. It was my first time ordering and I appreciated she took the time to answer a couple of questions I asked her. The pizza was ready within 25 minutes as promised. The cheese was generous and delicious. The crust was a bit too thick and I like a bit more sauce on my pizza. Maybe it's a matter of personal preference? I might order again. Placed an order at 10:50, dude told me on the phone it would get here in 35-40 minutes. An hour passed by and nobody had showed up. I called again and the person on the phone apologized and said they were super busy and driver should be here in 15 minutes. 20 minutes passed by and nothing. I called again about 5 times and no one picked up. Worst of all, they charge my debit card! Won't be ordering from here anymore. First and last time! read more

Ok so where do I start. I have gone to Benny's pizza since I use to live around the neighborhood for almost 18 years. During that time Benny's was the like the only pizza joint around there when coming out of Juarez. With that being said about 3-4 months I stopped by cause I had a doctors appointment, pregnant & I was around the neighborhood. So, I was like ok I think I'll get me some Benny's pizza & take some for my lunch. Man I was disappointed with the pizza. Like, really really disappointed that on my way to work I was so close to tossing it. But, I didn't because I don't like to waste so I decided to give it my husband. The pizza is not the same as what I remember it like. It has been like roughly about 15 years because I'm all grown up & moved on. But, I can remember it like yesterday how it use to taste. The pizza tastes dry & the bread is too thick, not enough pizza sauce. I live in summit now & they just opened up a Benny's pizza. So, I decided to give it a try because I was disappointed with Benny's on 18th & it's the same owner. To my surprise the pizza is very delicious & full of flavor. Today, 12/19/2015 I spoke to the owner because he happened to there & I told him that Benny's on 18th is not the same & is lacking. He totally agreed with me & asked to call the person in charge to bring it to his attention & I'm like wait a minute aren't you the owner he said yeah but I tell them that but they don't believe me. I make them change it back to how it once use to be but when I'm out the door they change it to how they want it to. But, I highly recommend Benny's on summit new location. Sorry Benny's on 18th but you have to change back to how it was once before & I remembered it. read more

today I order a pizza from Benny's (this is not the first time I order)and guess what!!!!! I was choking with something that was in the pizza when I took a bite at one of the slices.Thank god I got it before giving it to my 18 months little niece. It wasa little piece from a metal scouring sponge it got stuck in my throut and couldn't even talk. So I called the place and asked to speak to the manager and explained the situation and asked for a refund and he said sure but I want the pizza back. I asked if they supervise how are their pizzas are made and he said "well we just cook them in the oven" That's it! when they cleaned the oven with that sponge some of the pieces must of been letf in the oven and when they baked the pizza it went in it.that means one thing.they don't clean the oven that well.So the pizza is okay but after this I will NEVER ORDER FROM THEM. read more

I have had pizza from this place since the late 90's. My parents loved their "pizza con todo". Now, I still order for them quite often (same pizza as my parents got me). The restaurant is a small but perfect joint to have a slice or two. Staff is super nice and quick with orders. Definitely one of the better ma-and-pa pizza shops out there. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT RECOMMEND! the young lady at the front taking orders was insanely rude. I started ordering my pizza and she interrupted me saying "it's gonna take 20 minutes" with such an attitude as if I was an inconvenience. So I said that's fine. And I proceed to order my toppings and ask if the "hot peppers" on there are jalapeño or giardnera and with a huge attitude says jalapeño and I'm like okay and she goes "no need to give me an attitude" yet she's been rolling her eyes and giving me attitude since I've been there. We even walked out without ordering. My friend who's a long time Pilsener and has ordered from here and never had an issue was even bothered by the customer service tonight. I wouldn't recommend anybody go here as long as she is there- honestly it just puts a bad taste in your mouth and turns you off to the whole thing all together. I'm all about giving my $ to smaller restaurants in Pilsen but this one wasn't worthy especially after that. read more

Benny's is fast, cheap and convenient. It's what pizza is, delicious. I usually order 1/2 sausage, half pineapple, and the kids and i love it. Cheese fries too. Everything was just fine until about about two years ago. Then they started to undercook the pizza. Even if I order it well done, they may or may not actually cook it longer. I'd they do, it comes out fine. If they cook it like they normally do, the cheese isn't even fully melted. My problem is that there's no other decent alternatives in pilsen. As a group of us prepared to watch the fight on Saturday night, the only other thing on our mind was what we were going to eat. Of course the typical delivery food item that everyone thinks of is PIZZA! Due to my inconvenient dairy allergy I always have to opt for something else on the menu. I decided to try out their Beef sandwich. When I unpacked my very much anticipated dipped beef, I was disappointed to find the beef drenched in melted mozzarella cheese. After pulling out the melted cheese, I was left with a skinny beef and holes in my bread. Perhaps it has been a very long time since I've had a beef sandwich, but I never recalled it coming with cheese. Although I accepted my cheesy beef, I was further disappointed at how salty the meat was. I was super hungry so I still devoured the thing. Man! I'm disappointed. The first time I ordered for delivery, the pizza was great! Unfortunately the most recent time, the delivery took forever and the pizza was not good. In fact, it tasted better the next day after I put it in the oven. It was doughy and just not right. The thing is, there are so many options of places to go that are so cheap. Bennys is reasonable, but Sarpinos and a few others offer free delivery, and a $10 lg 1 topping pizza. So why in the hell would I pay 18 dollars for a lg 1 topping pizza that sometimes takes forever and doesn't taste great? Also how can you screw up something that contains basically four ingredients: Crust, cheese, sauce, and pepperoni! If I was in the pizza making business I would be looking for ways to be more competitive. I'll go on a rant about pizza in the south loop now- there isn't really a great place to get it. Sure, you could spend 30 bucks at Connies but that's ridiculous! Every time I go there it's so expensive. Pizza shouldn't be priced the same as a f*cking filet mignon dudes! read more

Quick. Cheap. Decent. Benny's Pizza is the default mediocre pizza choice for this part of Pilsen. If you leave nearby, I'd recommend checking out, but I definitely wouldn't recommend coming from outside of the neighborhood to eat here. read more
