After I spend 7 years of my life living in Japan I was looking forward to find a good place that make a good miso Ramen in this area and all I can say it's that this place doesn't know how to cook a miso ramen at all !! I paid a $10 dollars for a small bowl of miso ramen which taste nasty very blend and doesn't taste like miso !!The soup looks like a watery coconut milk with no miso flavor !!! We received a friendly greeting upon entering for lunch. After a review of the menu, we found that the Bento offering is for teriyaki with smaller sides. We order chicken teriyaki with sushi rice and veggies. While waiting, we found the ambiance to be like being in some kind of vehicle because the place hums. There were also four large screen tvs on with sports. Looking toward the kitchen I cringed when I saw our food being cooked as I saw the cook squeezing lots of oil from a plastic bottle. The food was served in plastic ware even though we were eating in. Wasteful practice. The teriyaki turned out to be very greasy. The rice was dried out. The veggies were mostly green cabbage with small pieces of broccoli and carrot. These veggies tasted slightly burnt. The egg roll was the worst I have ever had as it was undercooked and doughy. One bite was all I ate. The sushi was tasteless and had tough cucumber skin that was inedible. It was served with wasabi that was discolored and was hard and did not melt into the soy sauce. For the price that we paid we could have had better food at a few other spots in the area. Disappointed that this spot was not a true bento box place in the traditional sense. Food quality is that like you would find from an Asian food place in a mall food court. read more

Generous portions, great value. The terriyaki bento boxes are a good deal ($6.15-8.95 for regular, $7.35-10.15 for deluxe, depending on what protein you pick). The deluxe box is a full meal with 4-piece sushi, spring roll, salad, white or fried rice, and your choice of protein. We are never hungry when we leave - we are usually so full that we joke that we might need to be rolled out. Visited Bento House in Reston, VA as a quick run for a lunch bite. Bento House is a clean and spacious eating establishment with a very friendly and welcoming wait staff and management. I ordered the Teriyaki Chicken Bento Box and my lunch partner had the combo Steak and Shrimp Bento Box. Both entrees were delicious and the beef itself tasted just like KOBE Japanese steak house steak! I would visit this place for a quick lunch bite over and over again. Typical Asian fast food type establishment you find in malls. One of my friend ordered the chicken teriyaki and its just like the ones at the malls. Another ordered the Teriyaki tofu and she said it was a mistake (ate about 5 bites before she gave up). I ordered the Spicy Garlic Ramen and Cali Roll; the Cali Roll is actually pretty good but the Ramen was a huge disappointment. Their broth and the noodle is no better than some instant noodle. if you want something inexepensive and you like chicken Teriyaki but too lazy to head over to one of the malls, give this spot a try. read more

I really enjoyed this place. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box with white rice and veggies. It was great, a little bit greasy but not off putting. The rice balanced it out. The customer service was exceptional. The gentleman greeted us as we walked in, ordering was easy enough and he brought everything out to our table. He then made sure to thank us for coming on our way out. I do believe that extra effort makes a huge difference. Not everyday you walk into a place and are made to feel truly valued as a customer. It's fast Japanese food. I do like how how efficient and quick they are. I didn't really enjoy any of their ramen soups, but their teriyaki is good. The soup base seemed a bit off. If I come again, I'll get a bento box and stay away from the soups. read more

Have become a weekly regular now and they know my order before I get in the door. They make a special twist the regular and I appreciate their doing it. Unfortunately, when I switched it up last week and ordered the regular steak instead of chicken, I got back to office to find it covered in pepper and filled with onions. I have never had it explained that the teriyaki came with onions or pepper to have asked them to hold it. The chicken does not come with either and their is no where that tells customers it does. I am very aware of this kind of thing. That's one of the reasons I have come back, because I know what is included and how it is prepared. I can even watch them prepare. I saw the guy shaking pepper but thought it must be the other order because they never put on before. This is all important because, while pepper only gives me instant diarrhea, onions will KILL me. I am severely allergic and have about 1 1/2 hours to get to emergency room alive if I eat even something cooked on same grill as onions were cooked. This was smothered in them. That said, I am going back to my regular chicken order and watching even more carefully. read more

had a bizarre experience here. ppl here were nice enough. Most of our order came out but the softshell crab roll I ordered never came out even tho the servers said it was coming. we must have asked about it at least 3X's; I could have sworn they gave it to another patron but they said it was not the case; they even gave us an extra roll on the house "while we were waiting"...after an hour we just left. I dont get it, just tell us you don't have it or maybe gave it someone else, don't make us wait and wait and wait. otherwise, it was a good experience??!?! just dont order a softshell crab roll. not coming back. read more

This place was really good. We had the chicken bento box and the tonkatsu ramen. Both were really good. It felt a bit pricey for fast food but it was as good if not better than the same dishes served at Kumi Sushi down the road. Overall I will definitely go back and really enjoyed it! read more

I've always wanted to try this place but never got the chance. Tonight, we decided to do a takeout -- I ordered salmon with fried noodles and my husband ordered chicken terriyake with fried rice. Food was nice and hot. When we sat down to eat, well, to put it frankly we were very disappointed. My order was more like a box full of noodles, bits of broccoli and small pieces of salmon. We went to Bento House today because we had seen the menu, and the prices looked good. We were not disappointed by our experience! Bento House has a very clean and modern atmosphere, and you order your food at the counter. We ordered the shrimp and steak bentos (both deluxe) and the price came out to around $20. We got a lot of food for a great price! I was only expecting a couple shrimp in my bento box, but there were around 20 medium(?)-sized shrimp. Everything was delicious, as well. The California roll was fresh, and the teriyaki sauce was very tasty. I can't wait to come back for more! read more

This is a classic hole in the wall. It's clean but sparse, and utilitarian decor. The food ...... is affordable and delicious! The ramen is all pork and according to my son - the best we have found in the area. The gyoza are crisp and tender and come with a tasty sauce. The teriyaki is tender, and mouth watering. Yesterday was my first time trying Bento House. I work right across the parking lot and called in my order as I was walking out of work. I got there about 5 minutes later and it was all ready! Points for speed and convenience! I got the Chicken teriyaki deluxe. The California roll was okay and the teriyaki chicken was tasty. My favorite part was the eggroll. It was crunchy on the outside and soft and flavorful on the inside. The salad was pretty basic, some lettuce and carrots with some dressing. Overall it was a pretty great lunch. There was a lot of food, so I saved the rest and ate it for dinner. Two meals done for the day! read more
