We made reservations at the bar for a friends birthday. The bar seating is so comfy. Definitely love how they chose comfort over space. Even the tables had cute couches. We ordered a bunch of tapas and some cocktails. The ones that really stood out to me were the duck fat fries, misu butter Brussels, tuna tartare and the sourdough with spreads! My sister-in-law and I came here for an earlier dinner , we had reservations at the bar for 4:30pm and when we arrived we were kindly greeted and seated immediately. We ordered the Angry Beaver, it was very good, I didn't expect it to be as spicy, but I'm also very sensitive to strong and potent flavors, definitely would recommend it though! For food we ordered 3 plates to share - Arugula Salad, Brussel Sprouts & the mushroom and thyme croquetas, which was enough for a light dinner. The Arugula salad was okay, not much dressing or flavor to it . The brussel sprouts and croquettes were good! We got the chocolate flourless cake for dessert. For the price of $13 , it was definitely small, more like a bite size for each person. It was very good, but not worth the price. I felt like the portion could be a bit bigger. The ambiance is very nice and a different vibe then the other bars/restaurants nearby . The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It was overall a good experience. It's a small spot so I would suggest making a reservation prior to giving it a try! read more

Every aspect was exceptional . Atmosphere had a nice NYC vibe. Full house so we made a bar seat reservation, which was large and comfortable . Bartender/ server Balal was awesome, he thoroughly explained all the menu items while serving up some great martinis. We split the grilled Caesar salad and the 32oz bone-in dry aged ribeye which was so tender you could cut it with a fork! We will definitely be coming back again. read more

Went here tonight. Had a wonderful experience. Friendly staff, pretty good food, A+ drinks and ambience. Had the tuna tartare- think they can sauce up a little bit and hit with a " vehicle" ( tostada, etc), but overall, fine!! And surprisingly fresh for the area. Grilled Caesar- fantastic. Croquettes ( jamon) more my husbands thing but the sauce was good and I totally enjoyed ! Staff is sweet and super excited to have you. Ambiance is gorgeous. And honestly- food, room for improvement but definitely a major highlight of the area. For those of you submitting bad reviews, shame on you. I have to take a guess and say 1.) you think you have taste because you lived in Murray Hill for a couple years, did a stint and Hoboken then made your way to the suburbs of Jersey. News flash, it's northern Jersey. You should be appreciative this place is putting an effort in to offer a more elegant experience than the harvest restaurants and chipotle around town. These people are trying, and we should be encouraging this type of development in our town as much as possible. OR 2.) you're so violently upset by the costing of tapas that you blow their whole rating on that, you aren't the target audience. Struggled with this review as experience was mixed. The waiter 95 % of the time was courteous and most respectful. But here and there had some sarcastic tones. And it fits in with the place having some 'pretense' of being an upscale place but not delivering an overall upscale experience. For example, the minute we got there the person who was to be our waiter said " glad you finally made it' Interestingly we were 5 minutes early but the couple we were with arrived 15 minutes early. Maybe he just meant to see glad to see you. Upon seating, I explained that I didn't eat much today, wanted a cocktail but needed bread before I drank. 10-15 minutes later the cocktails were delivered ( no issue with that timing for the drinks, and drinks were very good, but no bread.)I asked about the bread and the waiter somewhat barked "I'll just tell them to burn the bread in the back and I'll bring it out." And when the bread came it had 3 pieces. We're a table of 4, bring 4 pieces of bread. We'll pay for the extra piece. Next , one person in the party ordered a cheese platter. They asked if it came with bread or crackers. And the answer made us feel like we so bourgeois in the way he told us "that we don't serve crackers with our cheese platter here. ' They went on to say we can get bread for an extra cost. Didn't mind paying extra for the bread but didn't like the attitude. Well the cheese comes out and the ladies nibbled on the cheese like mice trying to wait for the bread to arrive. We finally ask the waiter for the bread and he says, again a bit snippy, that he 'll get the manager. We didn't ask for the manager we asked for the bread to have with the seemingly very special cheese that is not worthy of crackers. She comes over, chomping on her gum, and asks 'what's up'" ? If I am in a pub where people are banging down beers , downing shots and eating pub food, I could deal with a person chomping gum in my face and asking 'what's up' But not a place at that price point. As for the food, mixed opinions almost the 4 of us, ranging from ok to good. Overall, all 4 agree not a place to keep on the rotation. read more

I tried this place twice. Drinks are very good. The menu is all over the place. I had the steak it was good small portion for the price. Chicken was also good but plain. Excellent meal! We had the grilled sourdough, bacon wrapped dates, leeks and raclette croquetas, and the bavette steak. Great sauces and spreads with each dish. You can see the effort they put into creating elevated versions of standard tapas dishes. And this is really a great looking restaurant inside. read more

A welcome new addition to the area. First, the decor is very modern, supper club like. The menu is different and creative. We shared the croquettes, Caesar salad, asparagus and kind of a pizza like tart. Entrees were steak, and a paella like dish with vermicelli. Bernadette does not make sense to me as "an elevated dining experience." Expensive cocktails and tapas do not elevate the experience. I ordered the Angry Beaver, which was almost too much with the salted foam. It felt like with every sip I had just drank straight from the ocean. We also ordered the oysters, and the combination was disgusting. The short rib was alright, but such a small order for sharing it doesn't make sense being on the menu, especially if the piece of meat is mostly fat. The espresso martini looks pretty, but the taste is average. I was initially impressed by the ambiance, but the menu lacked congruency, and the service was unprofessional--other servers were walking through our lounge section in front of the seating. I don't see myself giving this place a second chance. read more

Fantastic experience! Cocktails and wine on point. The room is gorgeous! Only a couple of quibbles: prawns were a bit too spicy (for me) and needed citrus; Pana cotta was more a custard than the traditional delicate consistency. Went with a group of 6 so we got to try almost everything. Drinks were creative and delicious. Food was outstanding overall including the octopus, grilled caesar salad, tuna tartare, steak tartare, duck fat fries, head on prawns, pork belly, txuleton and bavette, as well as all the desserts. I went with my husband last night. We have been eager to try this spot and unfortunately, had a very disappointing experience. We made a reservation for a high top table and when we arrived, we were seated at a shared table with a family. We normally wouldn't mind this kind of set up, but it was close quarters and very loud in the restaurant to begin with. It's worth noting that we were freezing throughout the whole meal, it felt like there was no heat. As mentioned in other comments, everything served at this place is tiny-- the cocktails, the tapas and the "larger" entrees. My husband and I ordered three tapas. The Cesar salad was good, though it is a hard dish to mess up. We also ordered the patatas and the croquettes along with the fideua. They brought out one dish at a time, and none of them came out hot. The croquettes were almost unpalatable. We ordered the jamon croquettes and neither of us saw any jamon in any of the three served. The fideua was the biggest disappointment. It was flavorless to the point that neither of us could eat the seafood. We are seafood lovers, and my husband was afraid the mussels were rancid from the foul taste. We left very hungry and had to stop for food on our way home. For a steep price, it is clear we are paying for the "upscale vibe" and there is little attention paid to the ambiance or actual food. I would like to say that the staff were extremely kind and hard working. We are bummed about this one, and crossed it off our list to return to it. read more
