Ordered a curved tv over tax free weekend. Ordered to pick up at store as it's not that far away. Didn't notify me at all that they have REDUCED HOURS I guess they made enough money the first 2 months of Covid with everyone running to entertain themselves, that they can put in a measly 8 hours of business a day. I don't appreciate thinking I can walk over to the store like normal business hours to get something I ordered when I HAVE A JOB. now I won't be able to pick this up until the weekend and it is Tuesday. Do NOT go to this Best Buy Mobil store in the South Shore Plaza unless you want fail products sold to you by extremely rude people. I came to this store to have a screen protector put on my new Note 7. The woman who worked there, a woman in her 30's who never cracked a smile, did it for me. I paid and went on my way. The woman was not the most cheerful or polite person I've ever met, but hey, maybe she was having a bad day. I got my screen protector, paid, and went on my way. 3 weeks went by. During this time, I noted that the screen protector, genuine Samsung product which I paid almost $28 for, was beginning to degrade. All 4 corners had begun to bubble, and the two upper corners were beginning to peel. I could see that within a few more weeks, this "invisible" screen protector would probably curl up at the corners and come off. Already it was pretty unsightly. I talked to the customer service people at Best Buy in Brockton where I had bought my phone. They were very friendly and nice, but said that to get a refund I would have to go back to the Best Buy Mobil store where I bought the screen protector originally. So I drove back to Braintree for my refund. When I entered the Best Buy Mobil store, I saw 3 workers sitting down chatting, since there were no customers at the time. I walked up to the guy facing me, a male, and he asked me if I needed help. I told him that I needed a refund on a defective product. At this point, one of the other workers sitting down turned to me, and I saw that it was the woman who put the screen protector on my phone in the first place. "We don't do refunds on used products", she told me. I wasn't even talking to her, but maybe she was in charge. Anyway, I told her that I had bought the product about 3 weeks ago, and now it was defective, and that I wanted a refund. She said that the policy was that all products must be returned within 2 weeks. I said that made no sense because ofc the product would be fine when brand new, and only over a bit more time would any customer see if there was a problem. She was very confrontational in her demeanor, and said the policy was the policy; refunds within 2 weeks only. I told her that if I bought anything from Best Buy, I could easily return it within 30 days. But when a product is actually defective, the store should stand behind it and offer a refund even if a longer period of time had elapsed. In this case it was only 3 weeks. But she just said no. It wouldn't have been too bad if she seemed even the slightest bit apologetic or understanding. But I could clearly see that she just had the attitude of "hey, tough crap if you're not happy. The policy said 2 weeks, and it's more than 2 weeks, so screw off". Honestly, $28 isn't that much, and I don't need the headache she was giving me. So I just told her that she had created a very unhappy customer, and it's a shame that she really didn't care. Then she just said, "that's the policy, sir. Sorry." Wow, it was the least sincere "sorry" I had heard in many years. She practically sneered when she said it. So this was my experience at Best Buy Mobil in the South Shore Plaza. Did I have the legal right to get a refund? Maybe, maybe not. But it would have been a lot more pleasant if that store clerk didn't take it upon herself to be confrontational and adversarial right from the outset. I don't know if she's a good technical person to be working in that kind of store. But I can say that a person with that kind of personality and "eff you" attitude toward customers really shouldn't be working in any kind of job that deals with people. My wife & I bought a Kodak digital camera for my mother in law. She was leaving the next day for Europe. When she opened it (20 mins later) The screen had a crack in it. I went straight back to Best Buy. They said they had never sold a camera with a cracked screen before!!! So the damage was my fault. So they said I had to call Kodak and pay to have it fixed. Best Buy does not even warrant the one star I gave it.!!!! My experience with sale staff was good. Unfortunately, I bought a washing machine and dryer, and a stove, all of which require installation. The installers for each machine were different and equally incapable of performing the job the first, second, and third times!!! That in itself was upsetting, but even worse was spending literally hours on hold to get someone to come to install and rectify the errors. I purchased these machines in Sept and now it's November and the stove still doesn't work and was installed unsafely. read more

Today I received wonderful customer service from Ed and Louis. They went above and beyond to help rectify a situation that arose from a purchase in the south bay store a week prior. The gentlemen helped get me the product I previously purchased and also helped to refund a tv that was never delivered as scheduled or at all. Ok, it seems a bit lame and irrelevant to review Best Buy. We all know what the store is and pretty much you're gonna go there if you need something they sell and probably not going to read reviews of it on Yelp... but just in case you are reading this.... I felt compelled to write a review because the girl who was working in the video game department was so enthusiastic about telling me about all the different games and her and I and another customer had a great conversation about which games were best, etc, that overall my experience was great. In addition I bought several things, made several returns and I found everyone to be nice and helpful. Overall, pretty good! read more

Disappointed to say the least with my experience there today. I bought a somewhat expensive laptop while coming back from NH at a BBY there. Left the next day on business and realized on the plane that it had a dead pixel. Unfortunately Salem is a bit out of the way, so I hoped to do the exchange at this location which is closer. Problem 1 - they show the laptop I purchased as being in stock. It was not. Not a big deal, I understand. There was a similar model that was a little more expensive, pretty much the same exact machine actually. $50 difference. So I am ok with eating the extra cost, even though it is still not what I wanted. Both the Geek Squad agent and the sales person, Aaron, that helped me were helpful. Problem 2 - I have to complete the transaction at Customer Service. This is where it got frustrating. I explain that I am exchanging my laptop to the woman behind the desk; the first thing she mentions is that I should have bought the extra warranty because I would have been out of luck had the pixel died after 30 days. No apology for the inconvenience of having to come back. First impressions are very important to me; instead of making me feel appreciated her comment came off as rude and insulting. I chose not to buy your warranty because I take care of my electronics pretty well; don't make me feel like less of a customer because I take the risk! Problem 3 - Since it is a different SKU, there is tax applied on not just the difference but the entire amount of the new product. I had a feeling this would happen. I asked her if anything could be done and she didn't respond, but just called for her manager. Perhaps the front line customer service folks do not have the ability to empower themselves to solve problems. She hands me off to him by saying that "this young man wants to talk to you about why he has to pay tax on this item." That is not the case. I specifically asked her if we could work something out. I feel that this woman could use some retraining. Now the first impression of me from the MOD is that I am an angry customer. (plus, I'm 30, I'm not that young, and her tone insinuated a lack of maturity on my part. I know I look young, but I guarantee you I know a hell of a lot more about customer service then you do!) He reiterates what his rep had just finished explaining to me. I identify myself as a manager in a similar role as his, and explain to him that I understand the tax, that I understand it is a black and white issue, and that I am hoping he can possibly do something else for me. He won't budge. I explain that I am trying to help him out by purchasing a replacement laptop - that he won't be getting a $1250 hit to his store by me just returning it. (since i opened a BBY card specifically for this item, I mentioned possibly cancelling my card, too) No luck. So I stop trying, and I take my receipt and leave. It is disappointing that they let me walk out. At no point did anyone say "I'm sorry", and for a manager to let revenue walk out of his store as easily as I did shows a lack of judgement. The tax was about $80 more then the difference in laptop costs. A 5% discount on the sale would have been $65 - you mean to tell me that if I came in kicking and screaming because of the inconvenience that I couldn't have gotten a 5% discount? When I bought the original laptop they almost offered me the floor model at 15% until they found the last one in stock! I *want* to spend money in your store. A long time ago I was a level 5 hybrid "Buzz/Barry", which in Best Buy lingo translates to a lot of money being spent in home theater sales and computer/gaming sales. (a friend who works there explained it to me once) While I do not spend as much now, I am a Premier Silver RZ member and I probably do drop about $2000+ a year on average. If you are preaching your rewards program as a means of maintaining loyal customers, you must show the same loyalty in return. All in all, not the best experience. I will still buy basic items at Best Buy, but for anything larger I might take my business elsewhere. read more

I went to 3 different stores before trying this Best Buy. This store had a full staff who were extremely knowledgeable, super AWESOME, and very helpful. Best Buy had what I wanted in Stock, they had the BEST staff to assist me. AND There were No Lines! I really want to say how AMAZING Dante and Lenny were at the phones department. Both of these guys were extremely patient, knowledgeable, friendly, and the absolute BEST EVER. They both really went above and beyond to give me the best experience! A HUGE Thank you to Dante and Lenny!!! I hope someone in Best Buy management reads this, and realizes how invaluable Lenny and Dante are to this store. I've been going to this Best Buy for years. I liked it a lot more back in the day. They used to have a lot more movies and music. Now it's much more Games, Phones and stuff. Which I totally understand, it's more of an electronic store than a Movie and music store, but it definitely keeps me away. I have never written a negative review of any business until today. I went in to buy an iPhone accessory. Asked at the front for help and they said they would get someone for me. No one came. Saw two people at the phone customer service counter doing nothing. After eye contact one came to me. I asked why no one had helped sooner. He said they were with another customer. THIS WAS A LIE! I asked for a manager and he told me he was the manager. THIS WAS A LIE! He was a department manager, not the Store Manager. Store manager defended him! I purchased a Yuneec Breeze Drone at Best Buy in Braintree, MA for $600. The drone did not work after the first month. I've contacted Yuneec 14 times via phone, email and mail with no response. The manager of Best Buy stated -- "we just sell them" -- and would have nothing to do with supporting what they sell. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! I purchased a dishwasher that was "open box - excellent condition". Per Best Buy's website, Open-Box Excellent look brand new - with no physical flaws, scratches or scuffs - and include all original parts and accessories." However, my dishwasher has scratches on it and did not include all of the original parts, including the elbow joint bolt that hooks the dishwasher up to the hose. I spent 30 minutes chatting with a Best Buy representative, who said he couldn't order the part and to call a phone number. Spent an hour on hold and 20 minutes talking to someone, who also said she couldn't order the part and to go to the store. I go to the store (30 minutes from my house) and wait an hour while they try to find the part. Eventually the part is fine, but I was told I won't get a discount, as the part was ultimately found, notwithstanding I've not spent almost 3 additional hours trying to get the part. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND BUYING OPEN BOX OR FROM BEST BUY AT ALL AGAIN - AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THERE IS NO QUALITY CONTROL ON WHAT COMES IN THE OPEN BOX. read more

I purchased epson printer and cellphone charge cover. Both had been working awesome. Despite the fact that it was crazy xmas week and extremely crowded but I had no problem getting what I need. The customer service for both computer/printer and TV are very accomodating and well knowledged. I never had Epson printer but the sales agent refer me to the best affordable printer for my need. So, I don't understand the bad review about not getting enough help. Besides, smartphone works awesome inside the best buy to read reviews about the merchandise and order to be picked up there. Hard to tell if the customer service is worse here of at the South Bay location. I ordered something online for in store pickup. Supposed to be quicker, right? Wrong! At least at this Best Buy location. Waited in line for 15 minutes before I gave up because there was one person working both customer service and online pickup and there were 5 people in front of me. A manager looking person walked by several times but instead of sending help or, I don't know, jumping behind the counter himself, he just kept walking around the store. Do NOT buy your appliances here. We ordered a whirlpool stove that was price matched down to $1000.00 from 1900.00. we then bought the service plan. the total was $1400.00. On 9/24/2021, it was delivered damaged. we noticed 15 mins after the truck had left while unwrapping the stove. MAJOR damage to the control panel area. we called best buy in braintree and best buy.com and was told in order for us to get a replacement right away, they would have to RE-ORDER IT. meaning they charged our card for ANOTHER 1400.00. We then rescheduled pickup and delivery on 9/28/2021. Guess what? the new one was so damaged, that the crew wouldn't even bring it into the house. They also REFUSED to take the damaged one from the friday before. the Reason? "this is a one for one exchange" we call the store in braintree and got the manager who was just opening the store.....he told us to let the drivers go and we would hear back while my wife was talking to BESTBUY.com. in the end, it is now 4:30pm and they refused to come get the damaged stove because they have to wait 24 hours. even though the stove was scheduled for pick up on a seperate order FOR TODAY! mind you, they can not refund our $3000.00 until both stoves make it back to their warehouse. if you can believe it, someone at bestbuy.com told us we need to charge a THIRD stove in order to get one delivered ASAP. ASAP meaning another 5 days. we don't know when the broken stove will be out of our kitchen. best buy is holding 3000 dollars hostage on our credit card and there is NO manager who can speed up the refund process.....we keep being told "we have to wait 24hrs to set up a time to come get the damaged stove".....we already set that time up last week for today. Ordered a TV and it was supposed to get delivered. Delivery window passed by and I called customer service. After getting bounced around some, I was told I am getting it 100%, its just running late. Three hours pass by and I don't get a delivery. They tell me the truck was broken down. Now, I get all that, its extremely frustrating, I got a day off work to wait for it. I called saying I don't want it anymore that I want to cancel and they put me through a bunch of holds and in the end I cant even cancel. I gotta wait for someone to call me "within 24 hours" to either arrange a re-delivery and I could perhaps cancel then???? Why cant you just cancel for me after you have screwed up a delivery so I can move on and get it elsewhere!!!! read more

Went last Saturday to buy a new modem and microwave. Got the modem, went to the microwave sections, and found one that we wanted on display. There were no more left though, so we went to ask the staff if there were any in storage. They checked and said no, and also checked the warehouse and said there weren't any there eother. So we decided to go online to purchase one the next day. Online, it said there were 3 in stock! We ordered it for in-store pickup and it was ready on under an hour. If they were expecting a delivery, they should have told us. Or if it was in the store, then why weren't they able to find it? read more

Will never shop in this store again. They would not let me return a wireless laptop that I had purchased for my sister. I returned it a day after barely even took it out of the box. She didn't end up liking it. They told me that I had made "too many" returns and treated me like some type of criminal. It was the most worst experience I have had in my life. I recently had returned two prior items that I was given for a house warming gift. I do not return a bunch of items. I am just mortified by this whole experience and I will not be shopping at best buy again or other stores they track customers like this. Two buying experiences at this Best Buy in the last three months -- one a fairly expensive computer/TV combo, the other a modest i-pod speaker. The store is the store -- they all look the same, but the staff experience is very, very mixed. For the computer purchase, the staff lacked understanding of where the cable port was on the machine, and since there was no model on display, I asked to have the box opened so I could check it for myself. Immediate declination from the salesperson. I asked to speak to his supervisor, who had no problem opening the box, although he had no idea where the port was either. I found it, and bought the machine, but there would have been no sale if I couldn't have eye-balled it. Today at the cash register (after the usual palaver about the extended warranty) was about to be overcharged $10 on the speakers, went back to check the price and indeed had been overcharged. The sales clerk fumbled with adjusting the price, with absolutely no comment or apology about the store error. Have to wonder in these situations if the problem isn't more widespread than this one over-markup. Will travel further afield for my next Best Buy shopping experience. read more

Terrible customer service in the appliance department - went in to buy a package for the kitchen (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove). Was told could not buy the microwave that goes above stove due to not have cabinets there so I had to buy hood instead. Albert was extremely overwhelming just trying to get a quick sale, lied about fridge options until he could see we weren't going to go $1500 OVER our budget, then takes about 40 mins to cash out because the computers kept crashing. Albert sells us a range hood that NEEDS cabinets above it & the stove could not be installed due to laws preventing gas stoves from being too close to cabinets (18 inches) and the dishwasher could not be installed due to needing a 6ft hose so we go the day of the install to return the hood...was told we could not return it there and they have to pick it up. Albert also said we chose that hood so it wasn't his fault (he ordered it online) and told us we got the "basic install" so we should have been prepared with certain items for the installers..... it cost over $500 for the install I wouldn't call that "basic". Been a week and still unable to return it stating the items are "still in transit" (all items are sitting in my kitchen). Save yourself the headache and go to a local place read more

Caveat: I'm a "premier" customer because I buy from them a lot and I use their branded credit card for purchasing in other stores. Hence, I do get better after-sales service than other customers, especially in phone support. I like the people here, both staff and customers. The customers are friendly and polite. The staff are those also but also knowledgeable and they do not give you any high-pressure tactics. For example, they don't insist on selling you extended warranties or any other accessories/peripherals. They would mention them to you but once they get a definite answer from you, they do not mention it again. There was one time I was royally disappointed with their service. They remedied it fast. I was just expecting an apology. They gave me that plus a gift card also. Very nice, indeed. read more

After 15 minutes he finished but someone else walked up to him and then proceeded to help this new customer who just walked through the door. This review is about the geek squad protection scam that Best buy runs. If I could give 0 stars I'd gladly give it. I recently visited best buy to have two laptops repaired (One had hard drive issue and the other one had some issue with the fan which was making noise when the laptop was on). I didn't have the geek squad plan and the associate told me to buy one for $200. I bought the plan thinking it'd be worth it but it's been worthless. After 4 days, I received two emails saying best buy geek squad would like to talk to me before proceeding with repair. I called them and after listening to automated response system and wasting 15 minutes I was fortunate enough to talk to a human being. The woman asked me to confirm my name, service order numbers for both laptops, phone number etc. She put me on hold and wasted another 10 mins and then told me that the names are different on service nos so I can't give you any information. The woman was very rude and not helpful at all. I told her you goofed up one of numbers and it's not my fault. at least give me the status update for one of them. The woman was adamant and didn't give me any update on the status of laptop repair. I had to call up again to geek squad and waste another 20 mins. This time the agent who picked up the phone told me that they don't have any notes on my laptops in their system and I should wait few more days. I told him if you don't have any updates or questions for me then why the hell geek squad is sending me emails with subject line "please contact Geek Squad regarding your repair" and the following message- We need some additional information before we can move forward with your repair. Please contact Geek Squad® at 1-800-GEEK SQUAD as soon as possible. The agent was speechless and I hung up. This service sucks. Even after paying a lot of money you can't get any service and and you have to run around to get status updates and last but not the least repair is not guaranteed. Best buy geek squad wants you to cough up more money to a point where the repair doesn't make any sense. Buying a new laptop is anytime better than paying for this service. If anyone feels like paying for this service they might as well flush it down the toilet. read more

I had my worst bestbuy experience ever on last Saturday. If I could I will give zero start. I wanted to buy a TV for my brother and went to bestbuy for a specific TV that I searched and decided to buy. Because I knew which one I need to buy so I went directly to the counter, because I checked on the bestbuy website and it was out of stock in braintree. So, my boyfirend and I waited in the line for like 20 mins. Finally it's us, even before that I overheard one of the employee said oh...they don't have the paper, they will cut off the line. I mean, really! I didn't realize they were talking about me at first. So, I told the lady in the check out what I need and wanted her to order the TV because it was out of stock, and she said I was supposed to see an associate first, but apparently she can help me but with attitude. And the story began: there was one couple after us in the line, apparently they had the paper, so although we came here first and waited in the line for 20 mins and they just got here, but we were pushed aside while the reps were helping them first. ok,,,,No one ex plaint to me what is going on. The representative said she can help me, didn't say anything like we need to go back to see a associate first, and then come back. and since when in bestbuy you need a paper work first before you check out. If that's what is supposed to be, how about put a sign somewhere! So, while we were waiting for I don't know what, and I start to hear they kept saying we were cut off the line....Oh Come on! I was there right in front of you, do you really think that I cannot hear you! Yes I did, I was really pissed. if we cut off the line, just tell us that we need to see the associate first and come back, we can do that. no big deal. They were already service the next customer ahead of us, how is that us cutting off the line? I think she just not like doing her job, because asking for help seems like too much to ask from her. the manager came over knowing the story and apologized to us and said they had a very busy day and everybody had worked for 14 hours. I mean I can understand that, I didn't say anything until the lady start to sarcastically judging us. So what's up with the sarcasm? If you tired, just shut your month up. Sarcasm is nothing near tired, ok?! In the end the manager was nice, but the lady at the check out didn't apologized and didn't help us using the coupon we have. According to her, the coupon is a July coupon, which what I saw on the coupon: the expire date is Sep 30. So of course I left the store and didn't get the TV, and will not come back to this store any more. read more

Worst Customer Service EVER!!!!! So bad, there were not alot of customers in the store but trying to get a hold of someone to talk to or ask questions about the products I wanted to buy was impossible! There was a group of employees huddled together who blantantly ignored me. I had to call the phone number on the box of the product I was buying to get some decent customer service (actually the phone call was excellent customer service some of the best I have had but different story...) I finally did I get some good help after I pratcially attacked a worker walking by me, at least she gave me some good info that was looking for. The guy at check out was very friendly as well, they are the only reason I didn't just give it one star.
