I purchased a smart TV from Best Buy after shopping at several stores and websites. Best Buy had the most knowledgeable staff in all of my experiences. As a result of my research, I purchased a different TV than I anticipated. The difference is picture quality is not always reflected in the manufacturer's specs. For me, refresh rate is very important since I watch lots of sports. It was also helpful to get CURRENT reliability information about the various brands. As an example, Best Buy staff was knowledgeable about the current parts sourcing problems with Vizio TVs. The more shopping I did, the more I was impressed with Best Buy. What an awful experience. Staff was super helpful when they sold me the highest price rv antenna amplifier fully knowing we were going on 30 day vacation. Never once mentioning if it didn't work I couldn't return it after 15 days. Well amplifier didn't work At all so upon my return to town on day 30 I went to Best Buy. To have sales clerk assure me I just needed to swap it out, finally advising me I am outside of return policy. Spoke with Manager - an unfriendly woman who told me nothing she could do regardless of the original sales situation. Interesting.... if I bought the product between October 29th and Christmas I have 75 days to return a defective product--- Now I am stuck with a credit at a store I don't want to shop at again. Every time I go to Buy Buy and shop for either computers or cameras, I always leave happy and satisfied for my efforts. In fact, I have NEVER left this location with anything but rave reviews for the employees there. Today I needed some advice from the camera department. I bought a car stereo and took advantage of the free installation when they had the special going. I also got a spectacular deal on the stereo itself. I wasnt sure what to expect as I'd never had a stereo i bbn stalled and I wasnt familiar with having one installed at the store. The installation happens in a mini garage on the side of best buy so I did need to go in the store to be pointed in the right direction. Upon entering the installation waiting area I could see the gentleman was very busy. I waited patiently with my son. Someone else had just had an install and he walked her through how to use it. Once he got to me we went to my car and he checked to see what worked. He took my keys and told me its be about an hour and a half. I had a package to pickup in another store and I browsed bed bath and beyond. I came back and the door was locked so we just sat patiently in front of smash burger since he was going to call me when it was ready. Once he called I let him know I was outside. He showed me the new stereo and that he had come upon an issue but he fixed it. Anthony was personable, friendly, and he explained everything and made sure I didn't have any unanswered questions. Best Buy, Geek Squad is not neccessarily the company that you want working on your computer. I hired them to repair a virus I received from allow my grandkids to use my computer; not only did it take four days, but when I got the machine back, the internet would not work correctly. This was $199.99 later. As it were, I googled companies that could repair this online and found a company called secureremotesupport.com This technician was able to log on remotely and control my mouse and fix the issue in about 30 minutes. The cost was less than the shop down the street, and was still performed by a certified technician that was a few states away. Im happy and couldnt have asked for more. Before you use the guys at this store to repair your machine, think twice and check out another comapny. Maybe Secure Remote Support can help you out with your machine, but definitely look at a different provider other than these guys. Cheers! read more

Took back Apple earbuds that worked for 2 mths and stopped working and was told they needed to send out Geek Squad to my house. I asked for manager than Amanda says Oh I will override this time like she was doing me a favor. Why wouldn't you do that first of all without the hassle. Then she asked me 6 times for my phone and kept switching out the number and I said you are mixing up the numbers and she blamed the computer. If I could post negative stars I would. Pacific Sales started off wonderful as the salespeople are helpful and courteous. However their follow thru is terrible. I ordered a new washing machine/dryer as well as a dishwasher. Per the delivery date I paid my contractor to wait the 4 hour window the day before xmas and they called and canceled on the 5th hour. Now they are saying the dishwasher is on backorder and washer/dryer did not make it here from their CA warehouse. After lots of back and forth, and family staying with me over the holidays now with no appliances it was a mess. I asked for a loaner and the customer service rep(with zero cs skills) offended me by saying my husband should be taking care of this. I told her I did not have a husband and she belittled me, laughed at me and put me on speaker phone for the call center to hear our call. The manager Nick called and tried to help however was supposed to call me back and also still waiting for the discount he promised. Nick said everything had to be delivered first yet no reponse on calls and Logan was trying to help but no response either. My holidays were ruined and I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I am out the money I paid my contractors to wait all day for their cancelled delivery and time and they are prejudiced against single girls and it is obvious but what they said and their behavior towards me. Maybe if I send a guy in there I will get the credit I was promised by Nick. I would never recommend them to anyone! Run!! read more

i bought a new COMPAQ laptop (rated for its audio video abilities) at this store and paid for software and extended warranty ... the computer did not work so i brought it back and after considerable hassle they traded me for another computer that some other unhappy customer had returned ... i soon found that this computer also had problems, so i returned it to them and after considerable more hassle they returned this second defective lap top to COMPAQ who kept it for three months then returned it in the same condition, not repaired ... Best Buy (a misnomer) would not honor the 90 day warranty nor the extended warranty nor the software that they sold me ... HP also would provide no solace though they had assumed COMPAQ ... i finally had to throw the computer away since it did not work, and bought a TOSHIBA from the factory, and it did work ... my friend also bought a COMPAQ from Best Buy (Worst Buy would be a more apt description) and he had almost exactly the same experience ... neither of us are brave or foolish enough to purchase anything else at Best Buy (a misnomer) ... i am surprised to see their stock gaining, but expect their dishonest dealings will eventually catch up with them. chuck. read more

I ordered an HP 250 all in one portable printer on Amazon; per the shipping details the printer would arrive Oct 21, 2017. I received updates that the shipment would be delayed. My hope was to get the printer and take it on a work trip (I had to leave the morning of Oct 26, 2017). On October 25, 2017, Amazon informed me they could not get the printer to me and provided a refund. I went to my local Best Buy to purchase the printer. I was told they did not have the printer, but could order it. I decided to go ahead and order it for use on future work trips. In the middle of placing my order, a female manager came up to my salesman and told him, "if you are busy someone else can help her." The salesman promptly told me someone else will help you and walked away. The manager then walked away. I was left standing at the counter alone. I waited approx. 7 minutes and no one came to complete the sale. Luckily for me, after exiting the store, I noticed that there was a Staples in the same parking lot. I went to the Staples and they had the HP 250 all in one portable printer and they were able to price match so I got it for the same price and was able to take it on my trip. I wish I could leave a review less than one star but it is not possible. In June I went to BB and purchased an LG washer and dryer. I had BB install it which of course was additional fee. Received washer and dryer, had it installed and when using it, the washer flooded my entire house. I had just spent $6000 having wood floors installed the floor was ruined. I contacted BB immediately and was told they would take care of everything. I had a professional electrician come out and he determined the install was wrong and delivery company installed wrong. BB has been giving me the run around for three months. They don't return calls, emails and they keep making every excuse in the book why this has not been resolved even though all parties involved admitted the appliances were installed incorrectly. I would NEVER again purchase anything from BB and every time someone mentions purchasing from BB I will share this story. They turned my dream home into a nightmare and this whole experience has been so frustrating. They use a third party claims company to represent them that basically works like a politician meaning promises a lot does nothing. My husband and I have already replaced our floor and we are out the money all we asked was to be reimbursed. I am thinking of filing a suit against BB that's if they have any money left as it after customers keep leaving them. Please learn from my mistake don't trust BEST BUY to take care of anything in your home. read more

Tons of blue shirts standing around on the floor. No managers around to see and fix the problem. The lump of flesh at the door was pretty unhelpful as well. I walked into Best Buy trying to decide what digital camera to buy. I have been a customer for many of years and have found out that I can always go into the camera section and walk out comfortable and confident in anything I purchase. I have been in there several times for cameras, cam corders etc and I always try to find one employee named Tammy. She has never pointed me in the wrong directions, always has a wealth of knowledge to give me and always has a positive attitude. I went in there about a week ago looking for a new camera for two big vacations and tolf her what I am specifically looking for. She answered all of my questions honestly and straight forward. She also helped me save money buy buying other accessories that I will definitely use. If I ever go in there I look for her or patiently wait for her to finisih up with a previous customer, so I can ask any and all questions knowing she will guide me in the best direction. I went on one of my two trips and so far the camera is awesome. I did buy an extra battery because I thought I would need it, but I went 6 days of nonstop photo taking and it still shows a full battery. The pictures turned out great and I am very happy with my purchase. The true test is when I am in Ireland and trying to capture the beautiful scenery and all the memories that I will have. read more

Best buys geeksquad overcharge me 200. for inserting my installation disk in my computer. They would not take a look at my computer unless I paid them 200. upfront. My computer was not validated I had to pay the mfr 50. dollars more to validate it. . If they think you do not know a thing about computer be careful or they will steal your money. They were asking me for another 200.. for antivirus protection and memory. I told them no I get free protection from my service provider. After the 200. I paid they were expecting to give them another 200. with that much money I could buy me another computer, which is something they did not advice of either. Very poor business. read more

All the employees are the most helpful and if they look busy, it's because they are, but will stop whatever it is they are doing to help or get another associate to help. the manager is the BEST around. He offers, only at this store, a Veteran's discount that was handed down from corporate at the store managers discretion; and he gives it. We have bought all our TV's, computers, laptops, Mac's, video games and consoles, paper and appliances, from this store. We will go no other place. The cashiers are all so friendly during the checkout process - I can think of Marcus, off the top of my head - he's always been so helpful and cheerful when we check out. I promise you that I have never been treated the way I am here at this location and will not visit any other Best Buy but this one. This review is about customer service but i need to give some pricing background. I would like to start by saying I am an average consumer that does not need special treatment or anything extravagant. However, my job depends on me having a laptop. So here begins the saga of how I lost my job due to best buy. I purchased a Toshiba laptop on Friday the 4th of December. When I purchased the computer it was highly recommended that I buy an exorbitant amount of coverage with the computer. Not understanding why, I opted for a less expensive warranty ($100 in stead of $250). This brought the price of my $399 dollar purchase up quit a bit. It only covered physical damage up to a year. They told me it would be 24 hours to do a data transfer, this ended up taking 6 days and I was not called at any point to be let know of any issues. So let us recap at this point, my purchase went from $399 to $579. I understand the warranty and data transfer is ok at this point, but I am a little frustrated that the transfer has taken so long. Here's where the story gets good and is far from over. When I get the computer home I get "the blue screen of death". I bring it back the next day to best buy and they tell me it is defective and they will have to get me a new one and start over. The tech tells me that since do not have the full coverage on the machine that he will "do me a favor" and do it for free. And then talks me into spending another $80 to add the full coverage. I buy it because I am now in a bind and cannot work without it. Again The data transfer takes longer, 4 days to be exact and when I pick it up they tell me they had to try 3 different computers to get it right. I take it home and get an error, call the GeekSquad and they tell me to return it ASAP because it about to fail. I return it again and they decide to upgrade me and wave the $70 difference to make it right. I wait two days and call, they tell me there is an issue and that a manager will call me back and that the computer is not finished but i can pick it up if i want to. Why i would want it unfinished is beyond me. The manager call never happens, so I call the following day (13 days from the original day of the first purchase) they tell me they have been waiting for me to call to give them a password. I have now not been able to work for two weeks and have been let go. I am still waiting for the manager to call me back and am getting ready to go to best buy to sort it out. I highly recommend getting your equipment elsewhere. After two weeks and almost $700 I have nothing and feel ripped off and taken advantage of.
