When you a customer, have to tell the person literally what they are paid to know, and ALSO show them, you learn that the management is failing in basic quality control and customer service. And I already knew this was the case when the first time you meet the supervisor in charge she is more concerned with finding another employee to go to lunch with. WHILE YOU ASK HER I NEED HELP. The 1 star is for the only person, Victor, who actually was of any help, at the Geek Squad in this store. Under the management of Marrisa, who should be replaced. Jamie the repair agent was very discriminative towards me and did nothing to prevent the issues I would later encounter when I had to come back within the same day. She refused to go beyond her basic duty of looking at a computer. I had a simple issue, my apple pencil needs to be sent in for a repair/replacement . Paper work needs to be done, that could take in her words 10-15 minutes. Why couldn't you take the 5 mins to get me accurate information or at best the 10 minutes to help me with paper work instead of trying to send me off. Your job is literally support. I came back (an hour & half later) for my second reserved appointment to then again wait to get my appointment started. I assume the women who was with Victor was a manager by her attitude and did nothing to help. In her words she was going to get a snack with another employee. When I sat down with Victor, I needed a serial #, which NO ONE CLAIMED I NEEDED before. When I tried so hard just to get basic info to be ready. He had to take time to find that, then he tells me You only have warranty on it which doesn't cover repair. I then had to explain to this employee of an AUTHORIZED APPLE CARE REPAIR CENTER that Apple pencils don't have individual apple care it's attached the Ipad which was purchased AT BEST BUY!! Then SHOW HIM how it is covered because I have Apple Care+ on my ipad which extends to the accessories. I've been to this Best Buy location quite a few times now since I moved to Phoenix almost a year ago. So far, I've had good experiences with my visits there. I have a BB card so I come here every now and then. There are also times when I've ordered online and had the store pickup set here. The location seems clean, staff have been friendly and helpful, and this store is in a high profile area with lots of other big stores/shops around it. Parking is also a breeze. I returned an item. The lady at the customer service desk was so kind and very helpful. She had to call one of the managers or shift supervisors over to help with the return. The guy was so rude and acted like the return was the biggest inconvenience he's ever had at work. I was past my 15 days return range and I would have been totally understanding had he said, sorry, it's store policy, we can't. But instead of saying that, he had the worst attitude and told me 3 times as if I didn't hear him that he "typically won't do returns past 15 days." Okay, then don't? But no need for the hostility. Ali was AMAZING! I had ordered a camera for next day delivery which was to be delivered with Shipt. The entire day my shipping status stayed the same so I went to the store around 6 to see what was going on. Ali was able to change the order to in store pickup and cancel the delivery (this was way more complicated than it sounds) and I was able to walk out of the store with my camera that I needed for an event that night(the reason I picked one day shipping) and every thing worked out thanks to Ali! There was about 1-2 geeks who were actually doing their job and this has nothing to do with them, more so with the "geek squad manager". She was very rude and passive when we asked for help, and basically told us there was nothing they could do. I had purchased a cooktop open box in Costa Mesa California and when I went to have it installed in my home in Phoenix it was the wrong size. I went to the Camelback store and Alexa took care of me. She was wonderful. She didn't have to handle this problem but she did. She phoned the Costa Mesa store; they solved the problem and it was replaced. I purchased a Washer and a dryer at Bestbuy 13 months ago. When I purchased my appliances, I added their protection plan for both the washer and the dryer. When the appliances were delivered to be installed, the door of the frontload washing machine had shattered. They opened the crate, and there was broken glass everywhere. They returned the washer and brought out a replacement about a week later. At some point, although I am not sure when they removed the protection plan from the washing machine. When I talked to their service reps, they were utterly unwilling to do ANYTHING to rectify the situation. To be clear, they are arguing about a $50 problem with a $3000 purchase. It is appalling customer service. During the phone calls, they also stated that the initial problem was with my dryer. That is not true. It is another error. Their argument is that they did not make an error, and in explaining how they didn't make an error, they made 2 more errors. I will not shop at best buy again. My ONLY reason to purchase from them was the protection plan, and now that they have proven that they can make that disappear like magic, there is no reason for me to pay a premium price and allow my purchase to be devalued by their dishonesty read more

Truly an odd experience. Walked into Best Buy with a broken iPhone and was informed that my AppleCare didn't cover a new phone as i was expecting. You would assume that my mood was quite terrible. But no. And let me tell you why. EVERY. SINGLE. Employee me and my husband interacted with went above and beyond to make sure we knew all our best options. By the end of our time going from the repair area over to the desk to order a new phone, we felt like we had just been hanging out with our best friends the whole time. These people are working on a holiday and yet have the best attitudes and camaraderie amongst each other. Wasn't expecting to be happier leaving Best Buy than i was walking in. There are so many Best Buys in the world. This one is just like the others - a typical big box with a focus on electronics. I was in the neighborhood and figured I would pop in. Legions of khaki trousered employees might ask you if you need help, and they might just ignore you. Came here to get a Zagg glass phone cover installed on my iPhone. The whole experience took 45 minutes - far too long to be at a Best Buy. I asked an employee for help; he sent me to the Geek Squad. How many geeks does it take to install a phone cover? 6, I think. The cover cost $40 and they insisted on charging $8 to install. I've been to Best Buy before and purchased the exact same glass cover in the past, and never once have I paid an install fee. Scam artists!! I contested the charge but they wouldn't budge. They said it's to "make up for the costs when they install the covers incorrectly." Lo and behold, the first cover they tried to put on was "defective" (allegedly) and we needed a second one. The second one they installed had a bubble underneath. The lady at Geek Squad said it should go away within a day or two. If it doesn't, come back and they'll install a third cover. I had placed an order for a television last weekend over dot.com with the option to pick up. I placed it using my debit card and jumped through the hoops of getting the authorization approved due to the amount. I placed the order on a Sunday evening at 11pm and then went into the store on Monday at 12 pm the next day. I've always in the past been able to pick up items rather quickly with the dot.com w/pick up in store option. Mind you, I was moving so I did not get a chance to check for the pick up email, but figured after a half day, the order for the television would be ready, but not so. I went to customer service and they stated the order was stuck in the dot.com fraud que. I stated it was ridiculous as they had the money from the authorization and could see my id and the card I was using. The customer service associate called the dot.com department was was told they didn't know how long it would be for the order to come through but it could be up to two days. I asked if I would have done it in person at the store if I would have gone through the same thing and was told I probably would have walked out with the tv at the point of sale. Question best buy what is the point of ordering through your website with the store pick up if I can get it faster just by going to the store? So much for convenience. I told the sales representative to tell dot.com that that was bad service. Apparently she did follow up and tell dot.com about my displeasure and they offered me $15 in reward zone certificates to placate me. I would have given this two stars, but I gave it three as at least the in store associate tried to correct the issue. For those of you that order through the website beware! They were especially helpful and patient in helping me navigate the ins and outs of the tablet and the Android world, an environment in which I am a newbie. Ok so Best buy hands down my favorite store and the only major electronics retailer around except for Fry's Electronics. I have made plenty of big purchases and spent thousands over the years. That does not hold true recently and because of this they won't give me the same return policy because I did not spend a certain amount of dollars this past year. I'm extremely upset and frustrated with this place that they will indeed lose me and my close colleagues for life! We have all made hefty big screen tv purchases and even more expensive pro camera gear but never again! I recently bought two camera bags both with gift receipts within their holiday extended return period. (December 31st to be exact) I wanted to gift one to a friend and keep whichever one he liked least for myself. We ended up finding something else altogether that just worked much better so these two bags from best buy sat in a room with tags and receipts ready to be returned but I did not think I would have to rush and go out of my way to return it right away. Well I was wrong, because after 18 days they would not accept it. There return period first of all is a lousy 15 days and you can argue that other electronics retailers are the same way but no that is not true there is plenty of retailers that will take returns up to 30 days such as Amazon, B&H Photo, Adorama, ABT Electronics and the list goes on. On top of this guess what my items are not even electronics so maybe you should have a different return policy for non-electronic items don't you think. Anyways, point made their regular return period is not good, no excuses end of story. Luckily I was in the holiday return period right? WRONG their holiday return period is not an extended return period from the date of purchase(Like how it really should be) but instead if you bought something during their holiday period you can return it up to Jan 14th. Ok let's look at what is wrong with this. They claim that my purchase made on Dec 31st was in fact within their extended holiday return period but if I only have until Jan 14th to return it well guess what that is your same lousy 15 day return period again. You tricked me best buy that makes absolutely zero sense and you should apparently hire someone who can do simple math. I confirmed that this was indeed in your holiday return period yet no one told me that this will all end Jan 14th so in my head rightfully so I'm thinking ok this has extended return if I have to return it I'm good for a while. I'm done repeating myself I just wanted to make sure that got through. You know if your store managers would just hear me out (They pretended like they were but I don't think it was getting through to them) then there is absolutely ZERO reason why they would not be reasonable with me and just accept my refund. You know why because plain and simple I'm right and you are wrong and if you don't change mark my words your stores are going to start closing one-by-one. Saying that I'm beyond frustrated is still an understatement. Oh and I don't want store credit no I paid you with real money and I want that back which was their solution to this but absolutely not I do not accept. I'll be sure to make sure this is heard best buy I'm not letting it go I spent a long time talking to many of your people in charge in multiple stores. I would definitely not use their geek squad service to help mount a TV. I bought a TV from Best Buy with a sound bar. I bought all the necessary mounts, cables, that were needed from Best Buy as recommended. I was assured that mounting the TV and the sound bar will be covered by the 249.99 install. The appointment I was given was for 3 weeks later. I took a half day off from work to be present. One day prior I get a call from the installer that he will be coming close to 5 PM the next day as I was the last on his list booked 3 weeks prior. Regardless I said no problem and I would wait for him. Then he tells me that he will just hang the TV and not the sound bar. The cables will also not be hidden. Confused I asked why would I pay $250 if I wanted to have the cables visible. He tells me that 250 would not cover hiding the cables and if I wanted cables hidden it would be extra. I I wanted Apple TV attached with a HDMI cable that would be extra. Sound bar extra. So total he tells me it would cost me $ 400 for the tv to be hung, sound bar attached and Apple TV connected. And then he goes on to tell me that he doesn't have the time to do that anyway as I was the last install on his list. So after waiting 3 weeks, taking half day off from work, 1 day prior I find out that Best Buy wouldn't deliver as promised the day I bought all this stuff from them. Reluctantly I sent a request on Yelp asking what I needed. 3 good reputed companies responded. I chose TV Champs as they could do it on the day I had taken the day off. He charged me $175 to do all that Best Buy was not ready to do for $400. Really disappointing. read more

Didn't believe the bad reviews till now -- I recently purchased an M1 Mac Mini from the website and picked it up at this location. I selected the open box version to save some money, but when I opened the item it was from 2014... not 2020. After waiting more than 2 hours for a store bound call (I was told it would take less than an hour), I ended up just going in to resolve the issue. Well I was met with a repeated "you technically got what you payed for" from the manager because the numbers matched their inventory system. The website, order receipt, and box all said the product was an M1. But because the SKU matched I was told it was "technically" correct regardless of the blatant product difference and price variation. Ironically she was all too willing to blame Apple while the 'certified by Best Buy' sticker say there looking back at her. Admittedly, the Mac Mini variants look similar, but anyone worth their salt could easily identify the different I/O backplates. I was looking to get the product soon (which is why I drove so far to this location), and to keep that timeline my only option was to make up the difference and completely eliminate my discount. I would say that this is my favorite Best Buy just because of how helpful the employees were. When I first came in, I was basically just looking for a really long Ethernet cord to run from my modem all the way to my smartv because I was having issues with loading speeds. After wandering around and looking lost in the aisles for a few minutes, one of the employees (I think he might have been one of the managers) came up and asked if I needed help. I explained my issues and he recommended something that was way better than my idea. I ended up getting an item that you plug into your router and another box that plugs into an outlet right into the tv. It's the same thing as running a long Ethernet cord without actually having to run it all the way across your house and looking at the cord. It works great and I'm really happy with the purchase! read more

While on a business trip in the area, we needed some equipment. This was down the street and Best Buy should have every electronic need. Well, kind of. We needed a power cord for a Canon camcorder. They did not have that, but did sell a $30 "universal" camcorder charger. Universal this is not, even though the guy handling the cameras section said it should work fine. Also said if it doesn't work, I can return it. I ended up having to return the "universal" charger because the adapter plug wouldn't even fit into the camera. read more

I bought a Samsung smart TV from Best Buy a few years ago. I had it delivered and installed by Best Buy. The purchase was easy and the installation was perfect. Today, I tried to do the same for a friend. My experience suggests buying a TV from Best Buy is no longer possible. I got on the Best Buy website, selected the TV, entered my info (email, phone, credit card, billing address, etc.) and my friend's name, phone, delivery address, etc. It was a lot of stuff to enter. At the end of that I got a notice saying my credit card was no good. So, silly me, I did it all again and got the same notice. Then I called the bank that manages my credit card. The bank told me my card had been flagged as possible fraudulent use twice in the last few minutes by, you won't believe this, Best Buy. So, silly me again thought, "I'll call Best Buy and straighten this out." You'll never guess how little fun it is to hear how happy Best Buy folks are that you called, not once, but twice, and then pick through an insipid menu to be "connected" (whatever that means in Best Buy speak) to an "expert" who doesn't answer the phone. On the plus side, Best Buy's mind-numbing elevator music didn't bother me much. I left the phone off the hook quite a while ago and walked away. I'll check it again in a day or two to see if the Best Buy "expert" has finally "connected". My advice? If you can't tell by now, call Best Buy. They'll fix you up. read more

The Geek Squad Manager is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I was speaking with 2 "geeks" about my sons Gaming PC. Btw. They had no idea what they were talking about. And I only found that out when I called the manufacturer. The "geeks" told me I would have to send it out to the manufacturer because the graphic fans weren't spinning. HEY DUDES! They only spin when the unit is hot. Pretty basic knowledge. Then they said the display was not working because of that. HEY DUDES. IT WAS THE CRAPPY MONITOR U WERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT FOR 15 minutes. I had display fine before at home and after I left there. I came back 30 seconds later to ask one more time what I should tell the manufacturer precisely . And this lady "manager" walked up to me. Starred at me for like 30 seconds. Asked what I wanted. Not how can I help you. I told her I just wanted to clarify all the work that I need the manufacturer to look at . I never spoke to her before that and she said VERY RUDE " I think they said you have a bad PCU. I looked at her confused. Because that was never brought up. Then thinking I'm a complete dumb a** says " like your whole computer is bad." I know what a PCU is lady!!! I'm 44. So rude. Then she walked off with this disgusting strut and huddled with the staff. Looking like she's not there doing any kind of work. She is bad for business. Will not be back to this store. OH AND THANK YOU. I NEVER HAD TO SEND IT ANYWHERE. WINDOWS HAD TO BE REINSTALLED. I recently started work within a block of this location on Camelback. I needed a laptop on short notice, so I thought going to Best Buy was my best option. The Superstition location is great, so I assumed the customer service would be the same, seeing as it is the same company. I was wrong. I waited 10 minutes for someone to come to the computer section, but I counted one black shirt and two blue shirts, all by the front door just hanging out. The black shirt saw me and walked away when I started to approach him. I went to the checkout counter and the nice lady paged for assistance. 10 minutes later, I am still standing there waiting to get the laptop. No one came. Apparently, a team meeting behind the curtains was far more important than helping the paying customers. At this point, there were four more customers waiting in line behind me, including a gentleman who wanted a laptop computer as well. He informed me that this location is notorious for poor customer service. So, instead of demanding more assistance, I went online and ordered a pickup for a new laptop.... at Staples. The lady at the counter apologized to me, so I stopped by the front door to complain. The kid laughed. This tells me everything I need to know about the poor management of resources and staff at the Camelback location. The one star is only for store size. When I walked out to go get my new laptop from another store, I helped the other customer order his computer online...from Staples. Keep up the great work Best Buy, you lost about 3 grand because you didn't give a crap about your customers. Don't use this location if you need someone to assist you. They are better off using self-checkouts and kiosk. At least you get timely customer service there. Steer clear! read more

Update: I filed a complaint with the BBB and Best Buy contacted me. They eventually honored the promotion and gave me a $75 gift card for the laptop. -------------- Best Buy had a promotion from 6-25-17 to 7-15-17 where you could trade in any working laptop and get a $75 gift card, plus a $75 coupon towards a Samsung Laptop. As soon as I returned from out of town (7-11-2017) I took my working Dell laptop to the Best Buy store at Camelback and 20th Street for the trade-in. One of my friends told me that I wouldn't get this deal, but I printed out the form in case of any difficulties with the staff. Well, my friend was right. The first employee I dealt with was trying to make me believe that I had to buy a Samsung laptop to get this deal (even though that's not what the form said, and based what I had read on online forums from other people across the country). Just from the very beginning, they were already trying to make it not possible to get the promotion. The second employee came over and tried to get it to work but he couldn't, so he just walked away somewhere else in the store and left me at the counter by myself. I called Best Buy "customer no service" on their 800 number and asked for help. The girl told me that they had received quite a few laptops on this trade-in promotion, so they decided to end the promotion early. Best Buy, when a customer leaves the store feeling cheated and angry, they tell their friends about it. They are also very unlikely to return. Why should they, when you offer a promotion, and then take it away on a whim? If there were a limited number of trade-ins, then you should have advertised it as such, perhaps saying that each store would accept the first 50 laptops. Secondly, the arrogance of your employees is shameful. They simply don't care if a customer leaves unhappy. The poor service is at both the store and in their call center. They act as if Best Buy is the only game in town. Well, you're not. read more
