"Technician Damage, Denial, and Delays - Poor Accountability" I brought my iPhone to this Best Buy for a routine battery replacement. During the service, the technician damaged my screen. At first, the store claimed it was already broken when I brought it in -- which was absolutely false. After I pushed back and escalated the issue, they changed their story and admitted fault. They told me the repair would take weeks and offered no loaner phone. I rely on my phone for work and urgent family needs, so I had no choice but to purchase a replacement device out of pocket. Initially, they offered me just a $20 discount for the damage they caused. Only after multiple escalations to the store manager and then corporate did I receive a refund for the battery and a total of $100 in gift cards -- far less than the cost and disruption their mistake caused. While I appreciate the eventual gestures, the handling of this situation was extremely poor. Delayed accountability, shifting explanations, and no sense of urgency made it clear that customer service was not the priority. If you bring your phone here for service, be aware: if something goes wrong, you may have to fight to be heard. read more

I am very frustrated with the Indianapolis, Washington Street, Best Buy store. I purchased an LG fridge mid-May. It did not come with an icemaker but could have one added so I bought an icemaker. They showed up and the fridge install itself went ok, but I found out that the icemaker the BB store sold me was not even the correct brand, it was not for an LG fridge!!! So I called the BB 800 number and the person gave me the model number of the icemaker I needed to order but said that they did not have them in stock so I needed to order it directly from LG - I did. Installers came out -- still wrong model. So the BB told me to call LG. I did that - ordered another icemaker (note I now own 3 icemakers) - still not the correct one. So I have outstanding open calls with both BB and LG and still no icemaker. The to top it all off BB will not give me a refund for the one they originally sold me that was not the correct model because of the 15 day return policy. The box was never opened so they can re-sell it -- but still they would not budge on a refund. You would think after all this confusion they could have refunded my money as a gesture of good faith -- they were the ones that originally screwed up the order. And so far they have not yet fixed the situation. I think I probably will not be buying anything major from BB ever again. read more

I ordered a brand new iMac through this store. I paid $80 for expedited shipping but it still took more than a week. Then when it came in it was missing a cord. I called the store twice and got sent to the national hotline. They couldn't do anything. I packed up the iMac and took it back to the store because they told me they could give me the missing cord. When I got there I got no discount actually they tried to upsell me even though I had just bought the newest computer but said it was the only one they could give me. I just came in to look around. We have purchased several things here. It's surprising what all you find if you wander the whole store. They have kitchen appliances, vacuums of all types, tv's of all sizes, brands and sizes. There are small appliances, cd's, CD players, phones of all kinds, cases for the phones, chips, candy bars, drinks, I even saw some drink holders that you control the drink temperature with your smart phone! I like the sales people because they ask if you need help, but they don't smother you. I think the prices are comparable to other places and maybe a little less on some things. Come check them out. I love this Best Buy! I went in to buy a printer and was out in 5 minutes with the perfect one! The sales associate found me lost in the printer section, quickly assessed my printing needs, showed me my options, price matched on amazon (which saved me $50), and carried my printer up to the cashier once I choose the printer that best suits my needs. I bought a refrigerator here on Saturday. They set delivery for Wednesday. No delivery, no call. I called. Best Buy had broken a glass shelf inside the fridge. And that's where the nightmare began. I am pasting below the email that I attempted to send to corporate. I have been into the store and on the phone with the store too many times. I went in Friday afternoon, they did tell me I could have a different open stock refrigerator..but ehy can't deliver until Wednesday. They did say say they would compensate me for hiring my own delivery team. OK, I shouldn't have to be the one calling around to make this happen, but I did. Found a guy to help me pick it up Saturday. Then Saturday, a delivery manager calls me to say it's on the truck and on the way. I'm quite confused and asked the guy to hold on and let me explain what the store said on Friday. (He told me he wasn't going to listen if I was going to be rude. I had used no profanity, just asked him to stop talking at me and listen.) So finally he checks with his truck team and assures me that there is a refrigerator on the truck for me. So I call the guy I had hired to pick it up and cancel. One hour later, a fridge arrives. It was full of broken glass. See photos. The employees attempt to get you to settle for the solution that best increases the store's profits... such as wait until they get this fixed, with no fridge for a week (And it turned out this damage is not fixable) I feel like I work for Best Buy. It seems that there is no way to email or contact corporate online, So I will be investing more time in sending a letter through paper mail. What they have put me through is unacceptable. and it sucks that I have to post all this publicly , but you can't contact corporate directly, and the store claims that they are not allowed to compensate me for my time and wasted food and money until they replace the fridge they broke. Below is the email that I attempted to send to corporate. I'm hoping some how they see this. Dear corporate, you will be contacted by me, or perhaps an attorney, until this is resolved to my satisfaction. I understand Best Bust is finally agreeing to replace my refrigerator. That should have happened as soon as the warehouse damaged it last Wednesday. Someone should have called me and said "I'm sorry Ms. , but your fridge is irreparably damaged. We will get a new unit to you as soon as possible, and here's a gift card for the inconvenience. Instead I've had to invest way too much of my own time and effort, and been insulted by Best Buy employees and delivery people because I asked them to listen. I have not, during any of this, resorted to threats or using profanity. I have been quite furious, but also considered that every person who answers the phone did not cause my pain. I am 50 years old and have a physical disability. Moving bags of ice and furniture repeatedly because of this fiasco has taken its toll on me. At this point, I think it would be fair for Best Buy to give me a new refrigerator for free. Yes, free. Because I don't work for Buy. Best Buy doesn't pay me, but I've been doing plenty of work to rectify their mistakes. Yes, it's a financial loss for Best Buy to give away an 1800$ fridge. But it was an avoidable loss. The store manager could have made a serious effort to fix this. There was another open box fridge on the sales floor. He could have set that up for delivery the same day the mistake was discovered. Instead he tried to convince me to wait until the damaged fridge was "cleaned up " and accept it a week later. You will see in the photos that cleaning this is impossible. There would be broken glass in the ice maker still. And still, no one from BB is going to come here and move the food and the ice back into my old fridge today. I'm basically letting the food go bad because I'm in too much pain to move anything today. (I have rheumatoid arthritis)I will be buying restaurant food until the new fridge arrives. I have a surface Duo my father is an elite member for best buy not me im the son, the one you don't want to piss off. Which you have. I had an appointment scheduled I walked in was peaceful polite and respectful. I was brought to one other area of the store, away from the Greek Squad desk. I was waiting for a good 3 Mins before some new guy showed up. From a request from a Geek Quad Associate. The new associate that was brought to help me in paying for my replacement Duo. Two additional workers show up and they are all. Trying to figure out what they need todo. So 7 Mins pass by. When I decided to call. My father he's on the phone speaking to the associates and then sounds after he started speakong when I put my father on speaker to speak. They all started talking amoungst themselves. One of them took their mask down.. A female associate. I don't appreciate the fact that they totally were ignoring my father speaking when he was elaborating on the fact that he just dealt with corporate weeks ago about getting my surface Duo. Replaced. Now this was the third time from my recollection. I was told. That corporate told my father that I can pay the replacement fee keep. My phone until the replacement came in. But they were telling me that I was to hand over my ONLY Phone after I pay and my replacement wouldn't arrive until the 22nd of April...... Now does that make any sense... Since I need my phone not just for business purposes but for personal reasons as well. I have people that rely on me daily how Can one Contact me if I hand my phone over to some store because it's a policy. When that's not even a reasonable policy. Stopped in for suggestions, possibly a purchase. We were pinpointing speakers and a surround sound system to add to the pre-wired unit in our home. The sales person was somewhat knowledgeable. But, and sometimes one must backup, this store wasn't prepared for my questions on home audio. I had photos of our existing mounts and prewired connections. They tried, but failed. I was shown a Bose system, but not for me. In the end, we'll search elsewhere. + + Bonus, spied a telescope that could be useful if the price drops 20%. Bad experience.Was in store today inquiring about return...Store associate was kind...Store manager called me a liar in one word or another regarding what a previous store associated said returning some unopened software. I don't want my money back I just want in store credit or to use my money for something else.. Original associate said if my work offered software to just bring it back to store.. What I have is sitting on your shelf so what's the big deal...I know I'm out of the grace period but I don't understand what the real issue is besides your policy...I am not hurting your store's bottom line in anyway. Some dude with dreads was acting like he didn't want to help me and I handed him the item I wanted to return and when I asked for his manager, he basically picked up my item, firestick, and tossed it back to me. 8/5/19 This store epitomizes "Poor Customer Service". I have never experienced such insulting and rude treatment by any retailer in 70+ years of making purchases. On 7/15/19 I purchased a 32" TV/DVD set to use on our boat. A few days later I unpacked the unit but, due to the late hour, I didn't power up the set until the next morning. When I turned it on the screen displayed prizym like images. I returned to the store on 7/27/19 to request a replacement and presented the defective unit at the service desk. The clerk told me they couldn't do anything due to a policy of returns must be made within 48 hours. That was news to me and later I confirmed this was not BB official policy. I requested to talk with the manager and was told the manager was not in. Another employee plugged the set in and made the assumption that I had damaged the set. An "assistant manager" was called and much to my embarrassment made it clear they had a 48 hour return policy and I was attempting to falsely get a replacement and they weren't going to do anything. I informed them I had most certainly NOT damaged the TV. At this point I was very upset and left the store before things got worse. Over the next few days I attempted to bring this matter to the attention of the corporate office using the online customer service line. I also sent an email to the store manager via BestBuy web site instructions. All of these attempts went unanswered. I spent over 2 hours alone trying to reach someone with authority by phone. I returned to the store again to speak with a manager and, again was told the manager was off. After explaining everything to another assistant manager,he went off to another part of the store. After 15 minutes or so, he returned and again refused to assist and implied I had damaged the TV. At this point I requested contact information for the district manager and was given a name and email address which turned out to be incorrect. As of today, 8/5/19, I have heard nothing from anyone at BB. My next step will be to file a formal complaint with the State AG Consumer Affairs Division. This whole scenario shows what happens when employees are poorly trained and make inappropriate decisions. Now I no longer want a replacement, just a refund. I will no longer buy or recommend anything from BB. Oh, just for the record, my career included being a manager, district manager and regional manager of a large retail chain and if one of my stores received this review, the store staff would be given serious consideration for termination. If I could give ZERO STARS, I would !!! Did you know BestBuy has ONLY a 14 day return policy ON EVERY ITEM THEY SELL???? Yeah, me neither!! I can understand that for electronics MAYBE, but NOT for an all metal television mounting bracket, still brand new in the box... NO. I recently purchased a small 32" television in store. I originally looked at "Open Box" TV's, but a sales person ended up selling me a new Sharp TV which I love and I allowed him to "up-sell" me on an HDMI cord for $20, as well as a wall mount for $29. The salesperson ASSURED me that the wall mount could tilt up and down, even though the box said Fixed Mount - he said that it DEFINITELY WOULD tilt up and down. Guess what? IT DOESN'T. I took my happy self in with my receipt to return the item, and they said the BEST they could do was give me a store credit, since I was outside their 14 day return window. I think since it was THEIR mistake in selling me the wrong item, they should give me a refund. BUT, beyond that, both the Sales Manager and the General Store Manager (Tony) who I spoke to were both so smarmy and cold, and just all around UN-CARING of their mistake, UN-EMPATHETIC opf their customer, and UN-APOLOGETIC that their sales person made a mistake. Of the 3 different people I spoke to - NOT ONE apologized to me for selling me the wrong item!!!!! Here is the kicker - when I told Tony the Store General Manager that I was still dissatisfied with them not giving me a refund - he referred me to call the 1-888-BESTBUY phone line. When I called (it is an overseas call center, I believe) and as soon as I finally got a human on the phone (3 different times I called!!!) my call was sent to the "Primary Service Line - where someone could assist me". Call #1 - a recording said there was a 60 minute estimated hold time. I called RIGHT back and Call #2 - the recording said there would be an estimated 3 hour and 18 minute hold time. I hung up and called right back, one more time and Call #3 - the recording said there would be an estimated OVER 6 HOUR hold time!!!!!! Please note also that on calls #2 and #3 - I asked NOT to be transferred to the Primary Service Line, but was transferred anyway, against my protests. This is a BAD way to do business, in my opinion. A company as large as BestBuy should be able to speak to their customers and ESPECIALLY if they have a complaint about customer service!!! But the employees at THIS particular BestBuy are just not customer service focused, at all!!!!! read more

Then we're able to quickly buy a surround sound system for my fiancé's birthday present from me. Quick and friendly service. I was lied to numerous times and they kept my computer for just over 3 weeks after I was told it would take a few days(lie#1), Later I was told that I could only contact the local store for any inquiries about the progress.(lie#2) I did receive an email that said they were waiting for parts for 3 weeks. I was told it was a "rare" part. (lie#3) I have a 3 yr old HP laptop. After many calls, I begged them to return my computer, unrepaired. I was told at the local store that this would take awhile, about 4-7 days. This from the same person that said the repair would only take a few days. I actually did get it back the next day. I then took my laptop to a local company that ordered the cooling fan and installed it in less than 3 working days. Look for my review of CDM Computers. If I could, I'd give them a thousand stars!!! I dreaded going into Best Buy to upgrade 2 phones at the same time after having worked all night (15 hour shift, at that. I'm a nurse.) But with my son and hubby in tow, I went anyway. The service we received was *stellar*!!!! I'm so glad I went while the 2 gentlemen who helped us were working, because those 2 gentlemen are *magically helpful*! "Onaje" was answering our questions and we encountered a problem. His manager, "Eddie," overheard and jumped right in to offer a solution!! I didn't have to run all over Indianapolis to find what I needed!! I didn't have to stress!! Eddie and Onaje fixed us right up in the blink of an eye. Onaje was patient, kind, and helped us set up our new phones without making us feel like a bother. As an over-worked, very tired mom of 5, I will not hesitate in the future to stop at Best Buy again. These 2 outstanding service professionals really changed my dread into pleasure. I wish I could give them negative stars. I've never experienced such a combination of bad customer service and frustration with a company. I ordered a new car stereo and remote start as a Christmas present, and installation was included in the bundle. I set up the stereo install for two weeks out, and the remote start about a month out. Two hours prior to stereo install, they inform me that the installer called in. Luckily, I contacted the Greenwood store (who were great) and still got it done. Then, on the day of remote start install, they call me a few hours before and cancel my install. They then tell me they can install it on Jan. 13, which is 21 days later. Well, that kind of ruins it as a Christmas present. The biggest problem is that I now will have to take time off work, as these installs can take 4 hours. I had set aside time to do this when my schedule permitted it. To top it off, it's nearly impossible to get someone to answer the damn phone at this store.
