After watching hoppers then going to Santa Monica and finding an overwhelming amount of squirrels that just come up to you, I saw this place on the way back. The sign caught my attention so I wanted to give it a try. I was suggested to get the La neta, which included really crispy tater tots, over easy eggs that were quite flavorful, bacon, cheddar, avocado and crema. It was absolutely excellent and just went so well with the salsa verde. What was even more exciting is that they also give you a choice of a side as well. I chose the potatoes, which had the perfect amount of crunch and a crispy skin that went perfectly with them. I don't think I had high expectations coming here, because when you put best in the name of a place, you kind of get skeptical. But I think I agree. These are some of the best breakfast burritos out there. I'll definitely come back. The service is good and attentive. You get walked through the menu and told what are the best items to get. I'm not usually out this way after my weekend long runs, but LA Road Runners and Pasadena Pacers were hosting a course preview for the upcoming Rose Bowl Half, and when I saw the name Best Damn Breakfast Burritos I couldn't resist. Honestly? A name like that sets expectations! La Neta checks almost all of my boxes. This burrito is a hefty girl. We're talking bacon, tater tots, avocado, eggs--all my favorites. Exactly the kind of thing your body is begging for after miles on tired legs. I ordered ahead through their website, got prompted to download the app for 25% off... but then couldn't find the promo afterward, so I paid full price. Mildly annoying, but not enough to derail the burrito experience. Maybe I'll try again after the half marathon next weekend. You get to choose from a pretty large salsa selection, and I went with the spicy salsa roja--which actually was spicy and really good. Major points there. Also loved that the burrito came wrapped in foil, which kept it hot and intact while I got it home. That detail matters. And it came with a fruit cup which was NOT just all melon, which is rare. Bonus points! Now for the nitpicks (because I care): I didn't love the avocado situation. The website photo shows a generous amount, and I'm an avocado girlie, so I was hyped. But mine had barely any. That was a letdown. I also wish the tater tots had been crispier. I almost always choose tots over regular breakfast potatoes specifically for the crunch, and this one didn't quite deliver on that texture. Honestly these breakfast burritos were pretty damn good. I would recommend and the garlic aioli is the perfect compliment. The side of potatoes was also perfectly crispy. Come on, with a name like The Best Damn Breakfast Burrito, how could I not stop and try it? It definitely grabbed my attention. The place is kind of like three restaurants in one, and the menu's actually a pretty good size. I went with the Laneta Burrito. It comes packed with over-easy eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon, avocado crema, and tater tots. You also get a choice of fruit or breakfast potatoes on the side, plus a good little list of sauces to pick from. I got the garlic aioli and pico de gallo, and that garlic aioli seriously took it to another level. Made it taste a thousand times better. I have walked by this place numerous times and I'm very sorry I didn't try it sooner. I stopped in today and tried a "La Neta" with home potatoes and a Nirvana blended drink. They do warn you that the La Neta will change your life. There is the disclaimer. Ok, it may not literally be life changing but it sure as hell is one of the best damn breakfast burritos I've ever had. I topped it with salsa verde and habanero. The verde gave it nice bitterness from the tomatillos and the habanero gave it a wonderful slow burn but that is balanced perfectly with sweetness from pineapple. The burrito doesn't look like much, to be honest. I think they could be a little bigger but I was full after my meal so no complaints. How they make it taste so damn good though is a mystery to me. It doesn't even look like anything amazing when you eat it but the crunch of the ingredients with the perfectly blended eggs, cheese and not greasy meats is a euphoria for the senses. I can't wait to go back tomorrow! Oh the potatoes were perfect also. Hot and crunchy and not greasy. The Nirvana drink was perfect as well. It seems this place with their wide menu of offerings is an outstanding choice. Update: David e mailed me within seconds of my review inviting me to stop by. I did today (couldn't wait, actually). I had a great chat with him and he explained how the business kind of evolved by taking over a few spots that had different cuisines, so that's why it's kind of a hybrid place now. Without any doubt the quality of everything is superb. We talked at length about meats, how to get the perfect crunch in a breakfast burrito, etc. (yeah it matters to a foodie). :) David treated me to a chorizo taco after telling me about his chorizo. There were so little ingredients inside that I torn off half of the tortilla, threw it away and there was still barely anything left inside to see. The most 'disappointing burrito' would be a way better fitting name here. I really hope that I just got a bad batch but with a large variety of options for breakfast I'm not willing to come back to try again. While the burritos are BOMB, the customer service was incredible. I ordered 30 burritos (among other items) for an office party and Dave helped me every step of the way--from answering my questions, to confirming my order, and even cancelling/refunding my original order when we had to downsize last minute. The delivery was made 10 minutes early which was awesome (and helpful for the party setup) and they even included table toppers that listed what was in each burrito. THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! We were looking for a place closer to get our breakfast burritos from since Burbank is quite a drive at times. My husband and I both tried the La Neta burrito. It's pretty tasty. The burrito wasn't too big, but not too small. It's just the perfect size. It also comes with sides and we always opt in for tater tots, They serve a lot of tater tots. The house salsa and the white sauce (I think it's garlic paste of some sort) are amazing. They also sell the house salsa in a pretty big bottle for you to take home which is awesome because it's delicious. The service is alright.
