We're excited to find a dim sum restaurant closer to our home, we live in Rocklin. It easily saves us over an hour's worth of driving to South Sacramento. And the food ordered, at our first encounter was excellent. We wished their menu selection of items was wider. But enjoyed what they served. Special attributes about this establishment: our ordered food was served streaming hot. Most places we visit, are at best served adequately warm to somewhat hot, hardly ever streaming hot, where waiting for our dish to cool was necessary before eating. (What an excellent, predicament!). It's special and nice that dim sum is served from Open to closing hours. Our first visit was at dinner time, which is difficult to find alternative dim sum restaurants to eat after 2p. Prices were a bit more expensive, but they're reasonable. We're DEFINITELY Happy Customers, and list this place as a personal "FAV". Well be back! read more

Driving all the way to South Sac can be tiresome just for Dim Sum. It's true, your business is growing much faster than you can keep up with and now you are getting a crowd of customers waiting to be seated. Pls look into a wait-list system for customers (Yelp waitlist or old style "take a number slip"). We were there on Mother's Day for lunch. We witnessed a shady party of three: an Asian man in his 50s (not Chinese) and his elderly parents. We saw them sneakily sit themselves down without your help and cut in front of 3 other groups of people. They stole a table without waiting in line. A younger waitress took their order. Then the Asian man started yelling unfairly and harshly at you and your workers and then walked out (Thank goodness). I'm sorry it stressed you out. I am a dim sum expert and there are no words to express how excited I am that dim sum has come to GB. My family and I would usually go to downtown Sac or SF for good, authentic dim sum. And Fats dim sum is a complete joke. Anything that thinks Fats dim sum is worth the time and money is not to be trusted. Anyway, Best Dim Sum will save me a trip to Sac and SF. It has 90% of what I usually order. They do not have Taro, sticky rice or some of the yummy desserts/ pastries, But they have enough that guarantees many trips back. So happy! read more

I had a great experience with Best Dim Sum today and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good dim sum spot in the area. I had ordered a pickup order online and on the drive over my sleep deprived toddler finally fell asleep. When I arrived to pick up the order I couldn't wake him yet and couldn't leave him unattended in the car and they very kindly helped me finish the transaction from the parking lot. We have been to numerous dim sum in CA, Washington DC, and even in Europe. Wow, BEST DIM SUM was a wonderful and delicious experience. Solidly authentic HK-style dim sum. Ordered a bunch of dim sum. 2 plates arrived, and then maybe a 20 mins gap before the rest. This place seems to need more servers and cooks. Food wise, siu mai tasted pretty good. Har gow (shrimp dumpling) falls apart whenever picked up, wonder if the skin is overcooked as the skin is actually not thin? Rice roll is ok. Portuguese egg tart is delicious, custard and the tart is great, but pretty fragile too. Seems like an average place, but really glad to have dim sum and porridge place so close to home read more

We discovered Best Dim Sum in Granite Bay by chance in early November, and last night was our 5th time to patronize the restaurant. The food is excellent, and we have enjoyed everything we have ordered. The facilities are clean, quiet and parking is readily available. The ambiance inside the restaurant is pleasant, and the entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. We eat out a lot, and this has become a weekly go to for us. If you like Dim Sum, you need to give them a try. If you have not had Dim Sum before, you are in for a treat. They have a lot of other dishes on the menu besides Dim Sum if you want to mix it up. read more

Food tasted great. My dad is from Hong Kong, so I grew up eating food from Canton and all the best places in California (SF, LA). Service and food is very very slow. I give the restaurant grace, since all food is cooked to order with the exception of a few baked items (which were nice and warm, love that!) and they recently opened. It's nice having a dim sum restaurant here locally than driving to Sacramento and beyond. The restaurant was clean and the prices are decent considering location. Just wow, this is THE best dim sum I have ever had! My boyfriend who is originally from China tells me this is the best dim sum he's had in the states EVER! THE FOOD IS SO DELICIOUS! I used to not like Chinese food that much, but this place blows it out of the water for me! The people who work there are the kindest and loving people I have ever met while dining at a restaurant! It's one of those places when you step inside and you already feel like family! The service is very friendly and on top of things. The restaurant is small and the decor is dated but the food more than makes up for it. Got there around noon on Sunday and got seated right away, is not a good sign, expected to wait. The place had a coffee shop vibe. Overall, I'd go the extra 20 minutes and go to SAC. Everything was so fresh, so flavorful, so tender and well made, I just can't say enough how good it was. And, we went on a busy Memorial Day weekend night, about an hour before they were closing! There were a couple of dishes we wanted that they were already out of, but no matter, everything else was so delightful, fresh, and delicious, we were incredibly satisfied. Decent food but poor service. They need to just push carts. The way they do dim sum is by order but they loose tract of what you order. They then give your order to someone else many who have arrived after you. We sat with empty plates for 20 minutes. Would be better to pick from a push cart and get charged by plate. I almost didn't write this review, but my friends related an experience after the fact that convinced me to go ahead. I really want to like this restaurant, I really do. It's family run, and the staff were very friendly. The food we received was fresh and good, but unfortunately several things occurred during our experience that earned it the two star review. One of my friends made a reservation for eight of us (four couples) at 6PM on a Friday night. He and his significant other had lunch here previously, and loved it. No problem with our reservation and getting seated, but ordering was another question. The place was packed and people were waiting in line to get seated or to pick up to-go food. The restaurant was definitely understaffed and there was probably a delay of 30 minutes just to order food. We actually saw people who had been seated get up and leave due to the wait. Once we ordered (mostly Dim Sum), part of the order was incorrect, but was easily corrected. Unfortunately, the service was poor (but friendly) and the wait for food was long. The food came out hap-hazardly, and often only after we asked about items we had not received. Getting water took 20 minutes, even the bill took a while to get. The staff looked confused, harried, and frustrated. We probably shouldn't have planned the dinner for a Friday night. Now for the worst part and the cause for the review. Later, after we left the restaurant, one of the couples explained that the wife had found a hair in her baked pork bow, and another in the hot sour soup (that we all shared). They didn't tell us this during the meal because they didn't want to spoil the meal for us. However, they should have said something so we could have notified the restaurant staff and shown them the hair. They need to know about this kind of hygienic error. Obviously, they will now. Certainly, my friends have been put off this restaurant in the future, and I'll have difficulty returning. I may go back, but to be honest I'm just not sure. I'll be thinking of the hair. Usually, this would earn a restaurant a one star review from me, but again......I really want to like this place. read more
