We have been going here for years. Today we ordered online and ordered the family meal with pork, chicken, and beef. We ordered extras on all meats. Spent $10 more to get this. We did not get extra meat. We only got 3 salads, and the $10 fried vegetables meal we ordered was only half filled with vegetables. It is supposed to be a meal. They obviously forgot to give us a bag. I saw another bag right next to ours and should have said something, but figured she knew what she was doing. Best Teriyaki...more like best katsu! The Teriyaki is pretty good though. The restaurant smells great from the grill when you walk in. The katsu varies in thickness from piece to piece, but the flavor is consistently on point. I love the breading and golden color. The katsu sauce also tastes great. As for the teriyaki, it's also flavorful and consistent. I wish the sauce was a little sweeter or something to balance out the soy, but you can't beat the char-grilled meat. I'm not as crazy about Best Teriyaki's gyoza. They are just alright to me as they're dry/hard on the outside and only slightly juicy on the inside. The gyoza sauce is forgettable. Service is friendly. Wait times lean towards 15-20 minutes, partly due to orders being prepared fresh, but mostly due to a bottleneck at the cashier. There is one swamped cashier who boxes up take-out orders, takes phone orders, and also processes payment. She hustles, but I think they would benefit from more staff. I got the spicy chicken and Katsu combo and gyoza. This place has one of the best gyoza prices I've seen, and all gyozas taste the same regardless of the teriyaki joint. The spicy chicken sauce was odd. It was watery and came with brocolli which was unexpected but the onions with it were good. I can see how it'd get messy in the dining area and if your order may take a little while. It's a small operation with a nice man running the entire front by himself. So when it gets busy I'm sure things will get that way. But when I came in the place was immaculate and I got my food right away. I ordered the katsu and chicken combo. It was delicious. Chicken was moist and flavorful and the katsu was crunchy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sauce for the katsu could have been stronger but that's just personal preference. It suffices. The portion is big and I got more than I thought I would. Filled a big guy like me right up. The gentleman who was running the front is probably the owner. I had business in the neighborhood, and the reviews for this place made me feel like I was going to be impressed. I'll be blunt, I couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was not tasty, the service was really slow and there appeared to be all kinds of confusion coming out of the kitchen. The Kung Pao chicken that was served looked nothing like the photos I saw online from other customers or from the photos in the restaurant. A big reason it wasn't tasty was because they used breast meat instead of thigh meat. Breast meat costs more which tells me they have a high standard, but you have to marinade chicken breast or use a sauce in order to infuse flavor and they did neither. Most people appeared to be getting the Orange Chicken or the teriyaki, if I had a do over, I would have opted for the orange chicken. I pass by this location often as I have friends and family nearby. However, I couldn't see returned as this was one of the worst meals I have had in a long while. It's rare you find a place with the word "best" in their name and have it end up being fact. Best Teriyaki is in a random strip mall, in between what looks like an abandoned building, a gas station and a liquor store. The area looks pretty questionable but Best is a gem in disguise. I ordered the dinner for two, letter B. Mongolian beef and General Tso's chicken. This is more than enough for two people but my wife and I gave it our best shot to finish it. Everything was very tasty so it was hard to stop. We eventually did and we kept remarking how good it was. I think the chicken could have been cooked a bit longer to get more crispy, but it still tasted delicious. And the mongolian beef had a kick to it. Didn't expect that. Only thing I didn't like were the egg rolls. They're a little too big and the sauce they give you to dip it in is out of a packet. The stuff is kind of gross. It has yellow #5, red #40 and high fructose corn syrup. I just don't want to eat that crap anymore. Wish they made their own. Other than that, we will continue coming here. Nice family owned spot. They're nice, you can tell they're hustling to get your food quickly and the place can get pretty busy. All good indications of a healthy business. Was so happy to find this place as they offered an entire menu of gluten-free Chinese and Teriyaki options. There is another teriyaki place but I have to trek all the way to Redmond for it. Living in Edmonds and driving about 45 mins to an hour to satisfy a craving is not the biz... This is a little hole in the wall in a small complex next to a convenient store. The inside is very clean. My husband tried the non-GF katsu and found it tasty. I tried the GF Orange chicken and found it satisfying. the sauce was a little watery but I have not had any breaded chicken type Chinese in so long, I found it to be very good. Not only are they fast and super courteous about making gluten free food, they make GF Chinese food that I can't taste a difference on! It's so tasty!
