I had an excellent experience at Best Value Automotive. My vehicle has been prone to overheat, and Monte did a free estimate and gave me a step-by-step outline of the work I may need to do. Taking a cost-effective and systematic approach, he recommended I do step 1 to see if it fixed my overheating before moving to the primary tune-up I need. The cost was affordable, and Monte is on top of his game and highly knowledgeable. After my free inspection, I returned the next day, and he already had my thermostat ready despite me never telling him I would return the next day. Marco also found an additional hose that had a leak and replaced it for free! I was uber impressed with the service, hospitality, and pricing I received. I took my car to them because when starting it it sometimes takes 3 seconds of cranking, and also the check engine light was flickering and eventually it came on. Other than that, the car is in very good condition for its age. They took it in, and after having checked it, they said "it is the evap canister", and added that I need not only new spark plugs but also a new ignition coil and new cables, for which they wanted 689. "$990 altogether". I told them that in that case I choose to have just the evap canister fixed for now. I was a bit suspicious because I had read elsewhere that the ignition coil never goes bad on this model. When I collected the car, they said "now it does not smell of fuel anymore"! That was an odd comment to make, considering I never smelled fuel from the car ever, and I have a good nose for that. They also reminded me how important it was that I have all parts of the ignition system replaced. I asked whether they had troubleshot the ignition coil by doing an ohm test. No, they said, "because the ignition coil cannot be removed". Funny how they suggested to replace it, if it cannot be removed? After having driven the car for a bit now, for the first time I DO smell fuel from it! I also noted that the ignition coil and the secondary air pump (a part that I understand needs to be removed in order to access the ignition coil) were hanging loose. The long screws are sticking out almost an inch. I am afraid this will cause vibrations or cracks so now I will have to spend money on taking the car to a better mechanic to have the damage undone. :( Another thing I noticed is that I seem to be the only customer the few times I have visited, so how do they have so many reviews on here? read more

I see Monte getting great reviews and I wish I could say the same, but when trying to talk with him about WHY he did a transmission flush on my car, he basically asked me "how long was I going to keep my car"? I have a 2004 Toyota Corolla and had no plans on getting rid of it as it has stayed in tip top shape until Monte ruined my transmission by doing a flush when it didn't need it. I told Monte I would keep my car for a long time. He advised my car will only last another 1-1/2 to 2 years as the transmission will need to be replaced or rebuilt. Since he is to blame for ruining my transmission, shouldn't he be the one to replace it no cost??? read more

Someone recommended me to Monte. I brought in my BMW 330i and Monti and his boys checked my car, asked a few questions, and told me what I needed to do. What he told me was the exact same as the auto shop at BMW. (I had taken it to the BMW dealership only for a check up. I didn't feel like paying their high prices so that's why I took it to Monte's.) I just moved to Vegas and drove my Honda Pilot out here from LA. She (yes my car is a girl) had been out of service for about 2 years, just sitting in the backyard. Anyways her AC system was not working and on the way over her ATF light came on. she needed a "dump and fill" transmission oil change. I called about 10 places trying to see how much they would charge me and how many oz they claimed my pilot would need. Montee was the only one that explained that my car needed the honda transmission fluid, how many oz it would ACTUALLY need. And already had really good reviews. When I got there I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off or like I should be worried that he would over charge me. I ended up having her AC fixed here the same day I came in for the transmission dump and fill. He showed me a really in depth breakdown of the charges, which was mostly for the part he ordered from Honda. I was really freaking out that I would not find a reliable, trustworthy mechanic out in Vegas... Like I had for years in LA. But I found one. I feel like I can come in, leave her and know she'll be fine.
