We stopped here during our beach vacation and loved it. It was crowed when we got there (it was Friday night), they take your cell number and text you when your table is ready. We sat at the bar and enjoyed cocktails and bourbon (nice selection. What impressed us most was their attentiveness to gluten free patrons. A manager comes to the table and discusses the best options (there were plenty) and even made suggestions when they were out of an item. The staff is incredibly friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. My husband has Celiac's and did not have a reaction. There was live music starting as we were finishing, good without being obnoxiously loud. So so BBQ. Had a weekday take out lunch at this location. They were not busy. The Cuban sandwich was large and served with chips at $15.00. For the price it was good but the Chips were stale. The last thing I was expecting to eat on my weekend trip to Rehoboth was authentic Carolina Style Pit BBQ but, Bethany Blues Lewest surprised me! The craving started when the boy and I were happily frolicking in the ocean waves when a giant boat pulled by with a banner talking about baby back ribs. Forget about fun in the sun! We wanted meat! We piled in the car and headed over. They were serving an AYCE Sunday brunch at the time but we opted to choose our own platter entrees. The brisket for him and the Carolina style pork for me. While the BBQ was stellar, it was the side dishes that did it in for me. I loved the fresh cornbread and the collard greens were the best I've had this side of the Mason-Dixon line. The mac and cheese was the perfect junky side dish. There was tons of neon yellow gooey cheese oozing out of all of the noodle holes. I would have not had it any other way. I came here for dinner after spending the day at the beach. It was busy at 6pm (prime dinner time) and the restaurant was disorganized upon entering. A table for three people was approximately an hour wait. Luckily we decided to eat upstairs at the bar, which had no wait. Bethany Blues has a sports bar vibe to it - there were a lot of tvs mounted and we got to watch the Gold medal soccer match while we ate. I ordered the pulled pork entree which came with two sides. I chose mac and cheese and the braised greens. I wanted my mac and cheese to be ooey, gooey and cheesy, but it wasn't. The first couple of bites tasted like buttered noodles, but there was a watery cheese sauce on the bottom of the ramekin. The collard greens were delicious. The braised greens were tender and had a lemony taste to it. There was a generous serving of the pulled pork, which pulled apart easily, but it was on the dry side. They have a few BBQ sauces on the table, there was a darker brown BBQ sauce which was sweet (I liked this one best) and a redder BBQ sauce that was a little spicy. Since the pulled pork was on the dry side and a little bland, it definitely needed extra sauce. There was a bit of a wait to get our food, but I don't blame them because they were busy. The one star review is mainly for the lack of customer service, in the take out area of the Lewes De, restaurant. There were two women working the takeout counter on 7/31/22 around 5pm. The blond women was rude, complaining and unhelpful. She completely ignored me while the other young lady prepared a takeout order. I had to ask is anyone going to take my order? I had to wait for the other women to finish preparing the take out order to get assistance. She was efficient but not very nice either. When I asked how long my order would take she turned around and said I told you it would take 10 minute...Excuse me, but who hired these two? As for the food everything I ordered was good as always, with one exception the burnt ends are not really burnt ends. read more

We visited Bethany Blues (Lewes location) last night to celebrate our anniversary. It was our second restaurant visit since businesses started reopening under the new COVID regulations, and based on our first experience at a restaurant in Rehoboth, our expectations were not high. It's a tough time for restaurants as they try to do business with extreme demands from the State and from customers. Well, other restaurants would do well to study Bethany Blues model. When I made our reservations I received a confirmation text with our date and time. Then yesterday morning I received a text reminding me of the reservation and asking me to confirm with a reply. We arrived about 10-minutes early and were immediately greeted at our car by someone asking if we had reservations and giving us direction as to where to go and to wear our masks except at the table. As we were seated I saw a table tent saying the table had been disinfected and to use the card to let our server know we needed attention. There was plenty of spacing, there was hand sanitizer available near the restrooms and they even installed a foot handle so you can leave the men's room without touching the door handle. Best of all, the food was amazing and the service stellar. We had a wonderful experience and it was so good to be able to eat out again! read more

Bethany Blues has more than one location but we returned to the one in Lewes for a late lunch because we had a good lunch experience here a few years ago. This visit we both had the sliders combo which consists of one slider (your choice of meat), fries and a salad (several options there also). The service is very good and the food and drinks arrived quickly. My brisket slider and my wife's chicken slider came without sauce, but I guess that's to allow the diner to choose from the ones at table. The fries were perfectly crispy. The cornbread was tasty. The chopped and spinach salads were fresh and were loaded with ingredients but we should have asked for dressing on the side since the kitchen overdid that aspect. read more
