I love the food here and get different things all the time for the sake of trying it! The service is amazing and the team is always up beat! Songs are amazing and I think the DJ should get a promotion for making me live the good old days the 2010's were with memories I forgot I even had! Amazing staff that can't get a big enough shoutout! We visited 2 days in a row. Day 1 the service was meh...and the coffee the same. I thought maybe it was an off day and we would try again. The next day the service was even worse. I can handle long waits, and the wait time wasn't too bad. The gentleman taking our order was very kind and explained it could take a little longer than usual...ok...no problem. However, the barista that served my coffee was incredibly rude. Additionally, the coffee was just ok. Pastries were great! After a sunny afternoon at La Jolla Cove, I was desperate for a smoothie or latte. Happy that Better Buzz has both! I got the pink dragon (pitaya) smoothie & although it wasn't as sweet as I would've liked, it was still refreshing. Tasted earthy/healthy in a good way. Had a patient cancel on me, so I took the chance to finally check out the cute coffee shop across the street from our office. I know they have multiple locations, but this was my first time trying it out. I only ordered a latte since I had already eaten breakfast. It was pretty good (it wasn't super foamy) but still solid. The shop itself is very cute and trendy, with fun merch featuring their logo and slogan, which adds a nice touch. The staff was friendly, and even though things were moving a bit slow, they got my drink out without much of a wait and kept the energy buzzing. Food was good. Service was TERRIBLE!!!! The Caprese sandwich, bacon ciabatta, spicy ranch chicken wrap and turnkey pesto were fresh, tasty and delicious. Service was DEFINITELY lacking as every single employee did not appear to be happy to be working, no smiles, no acknowledgment snd no eye contact when they WERE forced to have to make contact with a customer. The place was PACKED as the very popular pancake house next door was extremely crowded so this was the only alternative within walking distance. Also, be prepared for the cashier to shove the debit card reader in your face when it is time to include a tip as she did so to me and every single customer I observed while I waited and waited and waited some more for my food. The girl making coffee was TERRIBLE as she was VERY rude and short with EVERY single customer. My order came out one item at a time which forced us to start eating at different times And finally, the only guy working behind the counter was bad. He was clearly overworked, short and had no customer service skills. He appeared to become agitated when I asked for a status on my smoothie. It had been fifteen minutes and I noticed that customers who placed their beverage orders after my order, were being called to pick their orders up from the counter. I mentioned this fact to this male employee and his exact words to me were, "we are busy. It will be ready when it is ready". I waited a few more minutes, he finally grabbed my smoothie from a small window leading to the kitchen, slid it across the counter without saying a word and turned to start doing something else within arms reach. I stated, "thank you" in a loud but appreciative manner and this dude did not bother to acknowledge me even after I had just spent over $80.00 on four sandwiches, one smoothie and two small sodas. I visit La Jolla often as I truly love this area but as for my family and I, this was the last time we visit this specific restaurant. Never again! read more

It's super cute and open-air concept which makes perfect sense for sunny San Diego. The Best Drink Ever was honestly solid. Is it the best ever? Probably not but pretty good nonetheless. Pretty pricey for the size of the matcha, but it was delicious ! I got the orange matcha and it was about $7 for this very small cup. I thought it was good, but the price to size ratio just seems too extreme for me to come back regularly. There are other matcha spots with better value! We were pleasantly surprised to find a good coffee shop right around the corner from our hotel in La Jolla - we a stood in the short line and then ordered some pastries and cappuccino and a doppio macchiato - the pastries were pretty good - a croissant and a morning bun - the cappuccino was good and strong and much better than the hotel coffee in the lobby or the maker in the room of course - the doppio macchiato was nice and short but tasted overdrawn which was a bummer - it's fine I just threw it down the back of my throat like a shot lol - I probably could have had it remade but suddenly they were super busy and crowded with like 25 people in line - it's fine- like I said, threw it back and then focused on my croissant - definitely come here and don't drink the lobby coffee lol read more

By the time I came out, my drink was already done. I ordered an iced matcha tea latte. It was sweet, creamy, and tasted strongly of matcha leaves. In terms of caffeine level, I don't think it was that strong (relative to other matcha lattes I've had), but overall my brother and I really enjoyed the drink. I would come back. My cousin and her partner ordered a blended iced mocha coffee. They said that it was good but that it tasted more like chocolate cake than coffee.
