Mango sticky rice, Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream and strawberry sorbet
Adrian C.

Scoops La Jolla is sooo good! We tried the mango sticky rice (super creamy and tropical), the chocolate brownie (rich with legit brownie flavor), and the strawberry sorbet (fresh and refreshing). Every flavor was on point. Definitely coming back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little shop to come on a date.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their scoops are delicious. Service was fast even though it was busy for a Saturday night.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]La Jolla is beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Scoops is along a busy street where parking is taken up by outdoor seating. I drove around the block several times to find free parking. I finally caved and parked in the Morgan Stanley building. All parking lots are charging $14 for 2 hours. I couldn't back up as the garage was tight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Scoops is lovely. It is modern and fresh. Definitely has a beach vibe[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Service was great. Plenty of staff to serve. I got the ube sorbet which was very good! I also got the blue pineapple sorbet which no one liked in my family. I'll stick with ube.

Great service and so many options! I wanted to try something different and picked the black cherry chocolate chip ice cream in a cone.

They also do catering! We got married in La Jolla this past weekend and really wanted a sweet treat to end the night for our guests. The ice cream was delicious, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the setup was super cute[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and they were above and beyond professional and communicative throughout the whole planning process. Would recommend using Scoops for any fun events you have in the area!

I am incredibly disappointed and feel ripped off. I brought my kids in March 2. We were greeted and offered assistance from a female employee behind the counter that didn't smile but looked a little hesitant (realized later she probably was a new hire). I told her my kids had certificates and handed her the certificates. She didn't put her hand out so I placed the certificates on top of the glass ice cream case between us. She glanced at them as if she knew and didn't need to read them. I proceeded to tell her the flavors my kids wanted. She didn't ask what size. She scooped and handed the kids their cups. Not generous scoops but I assumed that's what was included with their prize certificates. We thought we were done but then she said the certificates only covered the kiddie size scoop and she scooped us small size scoops. I was annoyed but offered to pay the difference. I didn't see the cost of a kiddie size on the menu. The manager stepped in and said since the certificate weee good until the end of the month "why don't you just save the certificates for next time and you can just pay for these". I told her we wouldn't be able to come again before the expiration. So the manager said "ok then we'll give one free and you can pay for the other size small". I was a bit taken back and didn't want to hold up other customers so I just paid and left but thought later I probably should not have agreed. I feel it was their mistake. I shouldn't have had to pay since we had certificates for 2 free scoops. Poor training. Poor customer service by both the staff and manager. This was handled very poorly.

Mango Sorbet & Sicilian Pistachio + Cafe Swirl

I heard about this new ice cream place in La Jolla from Instagram. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The colors looked stunning especially since we are so close to the ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it was bold to have an ice cream place directly facing Bobboi's Natural Gelato. Since it was our first time at Scoops-- I wish they had walked us through about what they had and what they were known for! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a good amount of seating inside and outside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is nicely ventilated and has good airflow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ice cream is in metal containers so you can't see it. They have a menu board with classic flavors and vegan flavors and more. The vegan flavors seemed to be more adventurous than the non vegan. I tasted: - The passionfruit which didn't have any passionfruit notes to it at all. It was a light green color. This is not the color of passion fruit juices at all. It was super icy with no flavor. - honeycomb is pure sweetness. We went with the mango sorbet which tasted ok for what it was. It was icy as well, but not as much as the passionfruit. It didn't have an intense mango flavor but it reminded us of the stringy mango. There's def better mango sorbets out there. My mom ordered a split cup of the Sicilian pistachio and cafe latte swirl these are both gluten free flavors. They had light flavors, but both delicious since it wasn't overly sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot would be great for kids![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The workers were nice to let us try a few flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's nice and clean in here too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Best ice cream, milkshake and coffee spot near the cove. They even got ice cream for doggies.

New ice cream, creperie and much more with a view. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very good ice cream, perfect location, great service offering all the samples you want.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a great add to downtown La Jolla!

Blue pineapple ice cream and view of sea

Had a waffle cone with blue pineapple sorbet and passion fruit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice cone but not particularly fruity tasting, I expected more from a high end La Jolla location![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice location with outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The flavor was good but the quality felt "chalky" when eating. The quality could have definitely been better.

I also enjoyed the drink but can't remember what it was - I just know it had ube ice cream on top. Ordering was smooth and quick. We shared a savory and sweet one. For the savory one, we got the crab crepe which was its own experience, as I've never had a seafood crepe, so I was pleasantly impressed with how tasty this was. For the sweet we got the Nutella with strawberry and banana, which of course was delicious! Cannot go wrong with Nutella, ever. The reason for the 4 stars was because I have a peanut allergy and made the cashier aware of it and requested if they could simply take extra pre-caution in preparing our food; instead of just understanding, and complying with the request, it seemed like the worker wasnt understanding that I just wanted things to be cleaned off before cooking our food, and felt like she was trying to scare me off from eating here. Additionally, the workers need some slight education in food allergens, and the difference between peanuts, and tree nuts. If I didn't know any better I would've walked out disappointed in not being able to eat here because the worker was not understanding my ask but instead making me fearful of cross contamination, which I am well aware of but it can be prevented by a quick wipe down, and clean utensils to cook with??? All in all, the food made up for this slight annoyance, so I would recommend for others to try it! Just be careful if you have peanut allergies :)

While there is street parking available, it's North Park, so it fills up fast. There are a few dedicated spots in the back, but don't count on them being open during peak hours. The Food & Drink * Quality: The coffee and food hold their own. The flavors are solid, and the quality is definitely there. * The "Hidden Fee" Frustration: A heads-up for future diners: when ordering items like the Caprese Baguette, be wary of the "side" options. Even if the cashier asks which side you'd like, the breakfast potatoes come with an extra charge that isn't always explicitly mentioned during the ordering process. The Vibe * Atmosphere: While the French-inspired concept is clear, the interior doesn't quite hit the mark for everyone. If you're looking for a highly curated or "Instagrammable" aesthetic, this might feel a bit underwhelming compared to other spots in the neighborhood. Service : The staff was attentive and efficient, ensuring that the food and coffee arrived promptly and making the overall experience much smoother. It's always a plus when the team's hospitality outshines the layout of the room.
