Scoops La Jolla is a must-visit if you're in the area. As someone who's lactose intolerant, I always approach ice cream with a bit of hesitation. That said, after being offered and happily trying two samples, which samples are becoming increasingly rare at ice cream shops these days, it was an easy decision. I ended up getting a two-scoop bowl with Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb and Hazelnut Cookies & Cream. Fully leaning into vacation mode, I added Peanut Butter Cups and crushed Oreos on top, and I did not regret it for a second. For those who are a bit more calorie- or health-conscious, one thing I really appreciated is that if you want to try two flavors without committing to two full scoops, you can order two half scoops for the price of one full scoop. That was a first for me and honestly a model I wish more ice cream shops across the country would adopt. Cassandra helped us during our visit, and she was not only incredibly friendly but also offered great recommendations that left me extremely satisfied with my choices. Delicious Double scoop indulgence ! I recommend a vegan chocolate brownie chunk ice cream, chocolatey, it's delicious especially with the chewy brownie bits. Any chocolate lover will be happy with this flavor. I topped it with a scoop the vegan cookies and cream. Both were creamy smooth, delicious plant based bacon ice cream creams one would never know it wasn't regular animal dairy cream. We were walking around downtown La Jolla on a hot day and decided we needed some ice cream. We almost stopped at Haagen Dazs but then spotted this local shop and came here instead! I am incredibly disappointed and feel ripped off. I brought my kids in March 2. We were greeted and offered assistance from a female employee behind the counter that didn't smile but looked a little hesitant (realized later she probably was a new hire). I told her my kids had certificates and handed her the certificates. She didn't put her hand out so I placed the certificates on top of the glass ice cream case between us. She glanced at them as if she knew and didn't need to read them. I proceeded to tell her the flavors my kids wanted. She didn't ask what size. She scooped and handed the kids their cups. Not generous scoops but I assumed that's what was included with their prize certificates. We thought we were done but then she said the certificates only covered the kiddie size scoop and she scooped us small size scoops. I was annoyed but offered to pay the difference. I didn't see the cost of a kiddie size on the menu. The manager stepped in and said since the certificate weee good until the end of the month "why don't you just save the certificates for next time and you can just pay for these". I told her we wouldn't be able to come again before the expiration. So the manager said "ok then we'll give one free and you can pay for the other size small". I was a bit taken back and didn't want to hold up other customers so I just paid and left but thought later I probably should not have agreed. I feel it was their mistake. I shouldn't have had to pay since we had certificates for 2 free scoops. Poor training. Poor customer service by both the staff and manager. This was handled very poorly. read more

It was super icy with no flavor. - honeycomb is pure sweetness. We went with the mango sorbet which tasted ok for what it was. It was icy as well, but not as much as the passionfruit. It didn't have an intense mango flavor but it reminded us of the stringy mango. There's def better mango sorbets out there. My mom ordered a split cup of the Sicilian pistachio and cafe latte swirl these are both gluten free flavors. They had light flavors, but both delicious since it wasn't overly sweet. This review is for Kenzie. We ordered a split scoop in waffle cone and a double scoop. My guy paid for it but didn't realize the price wasn't adding up before tapping his phone. As I was walking out, I was thinking aloud about how the price of 25 dollars didn't make sense to me. She immediately addressed it and offered to check for us. It turns out, one of the staff members had already input a split scoop on the register and the one checking us out didn't realize. She immediately rectified the over charge and refunded us the extra charge and comped us a split scoop! I really appreciate how proactive she was. She was genuinely apologetic and was super efficient at rectifying the problem. Not only is their customer service good, their ice cream is too!
