    Mango pineapple sorbet
    Alicia W.

We were walking around downtown La Jolla on a hot day and decided we needed some ice cream. We almost stopped at Haagen Dazs but then spotted this local shop and came here instead! I got the mango pineapple sorbet as a single scoop in a cup. Two of my favorite flavors that tasted excellent together! So refreshing on a sunny day. My husband got the cookies and cream, he said it was good but not anything exceptional. Glad we got to try a local ice cream spot to satisfy our craving!

Scoops La Jolla is sooo good! We tried the mango sticky rice (super creamy and tropical), the chocolate brownie (rich with legit brownie flavor), and the strawberry sorbet (fresh and refreshing). Every flavor was on point. Definitely coming back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute little shop to come on a date.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Their scoops are delicious. Service was fast even though it was busy for a Saturday night.

They also do catering! We got married in La Jolla this past weekend and really wanted a sweet treat to end the night for our guests. The ice cream was delicious, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the setup was super cute[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]], and they were above and beyond professional and communicative throughout the whole planning process. Would recommend using Scoops for any fun events you have in the area!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]La Jolla is beautiful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Scoops is along a busy street where parking is taken up by outdoor seating. I drove around the block several times to find free parking. I finally caved and parked in the Morgan Stanley building. All parking lots are charging $14 for 2 hours. I couldn't back up as the garage was tight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Scoops is lovely. It is modern and fresh. Definitely has a beach vibe[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Service was great. Plenty of staff to serve. I got the ube sorbet which was very good! I also got the blue pineapple sorbet which no one liked in my family. I'll stick with ube.

I am incredibly disappointed and feel ripped off. I brought my kids in March 2. We were greeted and offered assistance from a female employee behind the counter that didn't smile but looked a little hesitant (realized later she probably was a new hire). I told her my kids had certificates and handed her the certificates. She didn't put her hand out so I placed the certificates on top of the glass ice cream case between us. She glanced at them as if she knew and didn't need to read them. I proceeded to tell her the flavors my kids wanted. She didn't ask what size. She scooped and handed the kids their cups. Not generous scoops but I assumed that's what was included with their prize certificates. We thought we were done but then she said the certificates only covered the kiddie size scoop and she scooped us small size scoops. I was annoyed but offered to pay the difference. I didn't see the cost of a kiddie size on the menu. The manager stepped in and said since the certificate weee good until the end of the month "why don't you just save the certificates for next time and you can just pay for these". I told her we wouldn't be able to come again before the expiration. So the manager said "ok then we'll give one free and you can pay for the other size small". I was a bit taken back and didn't want to hold up other customers so I just paid and left but thought later I probably should not have agreed. I feel it was their mistake. I shouldn't have had to pay since we had certificates for 2 free scoops. Poor training. Poor customer service by both the staff and manager. This was handled very poorly.

I heard about this new ice cream place in La Jolla from Instagram. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The colors looked stunning especially since we are so close to the ocean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I thought it was bold to have an ice cream place directly facing Bobboi's Natural Gelato. Since it was our first time at Scoops-- I wish they had walked us through about what they had and what they were known for! [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a good amount of seating inside and outside as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is nicely ventilated and has good airflow.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The ice cream is in metal containers so you can't see it. They have a menu board with classic flavors and vegan flavors and more. The vegan flavors seemed to be more adventurous than the non vegan. I tasted: - The passionfruit which didn't have any passionfruit notes to it at all. It was a light green color. This is not the color of passion fruit juices at all. It was super icy with no flavor. - honeycomb is pure sweetness. We went with the mango sorbet which tasted ok for what it was. It was icy as well, but not as much as the passionfruit. It didn't have an intense mango flavor but it reminded us of the stringy mango. There's def better mango sorbets out there. My mom ordered a split cup of the Sicilian pistachio and cafe latte swirl these are both gluten free flavors. They had light flavors, but both delicious since it wasn't overly sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This spot would be great for kids![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The workers were nice to let us try a few flavors. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's nice and clean in here too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

New ice cream, creperie and much more with a view. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very good ice cream, perfect location, great service offering all the samples you want.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a great add to downtown La Jolla!

Had a waffle cone with blue pineapple sorbet and passion fruit. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice cone but not particularly fruity tasting, I expected more from a high end La Jolla location![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice location with outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I thought it was tasty as well as their coffee, however my coffee wasn't filled up all the way. It is strong and their roast is bold! I liked it a lot, although a lunch meal can get costly so it would just be from time to time if I were to revisit. Not only that, but they also have a small selection of gelatos which look pretty authentic like Spumoni! Other desserts I saw were mousse, tiramisu, cannoli, cheesecake, carrot cake, and rugelach.
